??? Has anyone MY|PHONE PROFILES ??? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Has anyone this great app?
http://geocities.com/myppcpe2003/index.htm
Maybe a key for it?
I'D like to use it
It appears to be the best prog that I've looked for to switch my XDA2 to a changeable caller profile phone like a nokia!

I liked this app initially, great interface and lots of functionality, however I found a few problems:
Sometimes after changing profiles the ring would be silent when it should be heard - the dialog would pop up showing the caller, but no sound.
You can set it to automatically revert to the normal profile after <n> minutes, or at a certain time. For me this only happened when the XDA was on - thus if it should have switched profile and then a call comes in before you have switched on the device it still uses the wrong profile.
If these problems can be sorted it would be a great app.
As for a key... go to PocketGear and but it!

Yeahh..So It's not a perfect software again.
Do you know any program that analyze the caller from the contacts and you can select for example just one number or one goup to receive? The other ignored or silent like Nokia phones.

I have come across MUTX RingToneX which allows you to set ring tones by contact or category so this may well give you what you want. Can't tell you how good it is, but you can get a free trial from the link below:
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=8675

Thx for the answer but I'm looking for an app with easy switching between sound profiles.
For example:
A) MODE
Every unknown number has RINGTONE1
FAMILY group has RINGTONE2
FRIENDS group has RINGTONE3
MY CARALARM SYSTEM (has a mobile calling function) has RINGTONE4
...etc.
B) MODE
Every unknown number is silent or ignored
Every other group than MY CARALARM SYSTEM is silent or ignored
MY CARALARM SYSTEM is ringing and answered (at night while I'm sleeping I want to receive just the call from my car's alarm system)
It's just a simple thing that a lot of phone's using. (Nokia & others)
I hope somebody understands my problem and knows an apllication with the ability I wrote above.
Thx

I think (not sure!) that you need a combination of two programs:
JGUI My Phone Profile AND IA Caller ID (OR Caller2picture)

THanx the answer but I'm sure (not think) that I don't need the combination you wrote because My phone profile can switch just sound profiles with setting the ring volume or vibrating, IA caller ID can add a picture to a call, Caller2picture can add a ringtone and a picture to a call.
But I need what I wrote upper, please read it perfectly, because it is something different.
I need a software that has the ability to verify a caller-group and for example you can reject all number/call except the caller-group you set like with Nokia phones.
ANYBODY DOES UNDERSTAND WHAT I WANT???????
Maybe because I'm from Hungary and my english is not so well..... :?

My Phone Profile 3.1
My Phone Profile 3.1Full
Reg Code: TMPP-1177-JGUI
Have a fun!

If you have an XDA II, you don't need to get the IA Caller ID because it's already on the XDA II. IA Caller ID is called Photo Contacts in the XDA II.

Caller2picture can add a ring tone to a group. Whenever you want to reject a specific group, give it a silent ring tone.

@VHS: bad boy... i don't think that this should be made public... software worth using is worth bying.

hehe ...bad not bad, but apart from that a/m ...
discussion has been pretty much interesting to me as to sound profiles etc, I have been also looking for some time for software allowing for easen phone handling
regards and Happy New Year,
monika

Finger Clix
Check this:

It is the best phone dialer ever!

thank you
I wolud give it a try

:? :x
So..Nobody understands what I want.
OK.
Tekflow:
Thanx, but I know that I can set a silent ringtone for a group with one of these softwares. But I NEED SOMETHING DIFFERENT:
I have a car within a mobile-phone-alarm-system. If somebody does something with my car, this mobile (in my car) calls my mobile phone which is with me. So, usually (always) I switch off my phone by night. But if I switched off my phone I would never know my car's calling. That's why when I had a Nokia7650 I can set a profile called Night-profile which has the settings with all calls + all groups has a silent ringtone and my Car-alarm-number has a loud-sirene-ring. That caused when somebody called me except my car my phone was silent. When my car called it ringed with the highest level. And if somebody wanted to stole my car I had heard it. But not now. Because I don't want everybody to call me from 6 a.m., that's why I switch off my phone, but if I switch off my phone I can't hear if my car's calling me.
That's what I can't set in my XDA2.
With no any of your suggested programs.
I know all of them, and I know none of them has the ability I wrote upper.
SO........SOMEBODY UNDERSTANDS WHAT I WANT TO SAY SINCE DEC.05.???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
p.s.:I think so that FingerClix is the best dialling program for the XDA (I use it), but I need another thing, not just for dialling or to give a ring volume for all numbers and groups. My phone profiles can set just a general volume and vibrate settings without any choice to give a different volume for just one group or one phone number like Nokia.

(Maybe since dec.5 there's an update for MyPhoneProfiles or for the others and they have expandable ability?)

I (hopefully) understand what you talking about (have had a Nokia for years...), but i'm not aware of such a tool at this time for the MDA/XDA.
regards,

If I understand you: you need a program that gives you the opportunity of turning off the sound of the telephone for all incoming calls except one number or one group of numbers, or, better, to make call barring for all calls except for one number or one group of numbers (some kind of filtering). I also don't know if this kind of program is available for the Pocket PC Phone. Anyone on the forum aware of this ?

anybody has version 5?

I think what Tuningszocske want is something like Blacklist in Nokia Symbina phones. I know of a Chinese program call CallerFirewall, it allows one to add contacts to black or white list, you can choose to block all contact in black list, receive call only from white list or block all incoming calls etc. This program is compatible with dopod686、O2XDA、T-Mobile、and LegendT108.

Now the BT headset can show the Caller ID Name!

Found this link from a post in Wizard section yesterday:
http://www.jetwaremobile.com/index.htm
As the doc says this extension has a SIM access profile, I tried this BT extension on my Universal and a Bluetooth Headset SE HBH-662 that has a Caller ID screen. With this BT extension, now the BT headset can show the Caller ID Name IF the contact name and number exists in the SIM card.
However, it will not show any caller name if the contact only exists in Outlook Contacts.
My test also shows, the number stored in the SIM card has to be exactly the same with one sent over by the operator, otherwise it will not show the caller name. Ex. if the operator sends over the caller number as 171xxxxxx and the number stored in the SIM is 71xxxxxxxx then it will not work. Same thing if the number stored in the SIM is +171xxxxxxx and the operator sends the number 1713xxxxxx then it wil not work as well.
I kind of like to use the format +171xxxxxxxx as this is the international format.
Anyway, this is great, as most people have been waiting for this function to work out of their caller ID BT headset. Now, if we can find out how to make it work to access the Outlook Contact, then its perfect...
Can you report back on your experiences with this? I'm reluctant to install it unless it's proved to work and be reliable with my Jabra BT800.

Hi guys !
I'm just trying it in my 9000 with Jabra BT 800
In the site linked by lie_ui I read:
Configuration
The JETware Hands-free Extension allows control of the phonebook and messaging information that is provided to Hands-free devices. To configure these options run the Hands-free Config application which is installed in the Bluetooth Options folder in your start menu.
I don't find any new icon or service and i can't see the caller number
Have you tried this application ?
I believe in Jwright's Modified ROM there is an application called "SIM Access" that allows this. I was not able to try it because I don't have a headset with caller name capability. I forgot to copy the "BT SIM Access" application, but already tried it on the latest QTEK ROM a month ago and the application worked fine.
Thanks cktlcmd
Now i search for "Sim Access" in the forum
I keep you update

If you go to Start Menu\programs you'll find the Bluetooth options folder. By the way, don't forget to soft reset first.
I've tried with Parrot CK3100 and now I have the battery and network signal strenght status as well as network name. I'm expecting someone to try with BT800 and to report it.
i've tried out the software i must say i'm impressed that it actually displaying caller's name. however my main problem now is my i cant activate voice dial now. before the software if i was to push the button the headset voice dialin would kick in. but after installin it, caller id works but the voice dialings malfunction. is anyone else having this problem as well?

Yes, same happens to me.
I have the HBH-662, after installing the software the button on my headset does nothing when pushed, unless it is pushed for answering a call, although the name gets displayed when getting a call, provided that the name is on the SIM card.
The other bad thing about it is, if the name is NOT in the sim, it does not display the number, it displays "Unknown" on the headset!
Good step in the right direction though, now it only needs a few tweaks!
Cheers

on my bt800 don´t show the name of the caller

hi,
i've tried out the software but i can't activate voice dial now. how can do?

Try checking your "Notifiaction Que". There should only be one sddaemon file. If there is a duplicate then delete it. I use MemMaid for this.
please give me a hand to resolve this problem with vocal dialing.

As I mentioned above, the last time I had a problem with voice dialing was when a duplicated "Notification Que": sddaemon file to be exact, was present. Just delete the duplicated sddaemon file, soft reset, and pair your BT headset again. I used MemMaid's Notification Que to clear duplicated files. I hope this is clear enough.
ok i'll test your suggest....thank you.
excuse me for bad english, i don't speak well this language!
i'm italian
nothing..
not vocal dialing
BT extention
I have another problem in addition to the voice dial problem...... whenever I receive a call from soneone who is using a service provider other than my service provider the device hangs and I have to soft rest the device provided that all the contacts are stored in my SIM card.
Great achievement indeed!!! A first step into a long waited direction
However decided to uninstall it from my Universal, waiting for a new release.
In fact some improvements are required to make it really useful.
I've tried it with my Jabra BT800.
A few issues that I've noticed,
Name displayed, only if:
[list:cca8e10c8e]
Contact present into SIM card.
Outlook phonebook not being used (at least with BT800) despite announced as a feature.
In order for the correspondent name to be displayed, number must be stored into Contacts, exactly as sent by the Operator.
- Some operators do not send the '+CountryCode'.
- This may originate different behaviours for instance depending if user is at Roaming or not.
- Some sort of algorithm would be welcomed to add some "intelligence" here.
[*]If received phone number is not present into SIM card, or not exactly with the same format, 'Unknown' is displayed even in the event of a number being sent...
The number received should be displayed at these circumstances.
[*]Whenever a Contact name gets displayed, only its first 8 characters are shown.
Much better if complete name contained at Contact, would scroll continuously.
[*]Voice Speed Dial not working, if JETware Mobile Software is installed.
This is a must, to be solved![/list:cca8e10c8e]
Eagerly waiting for a next release
I agree with the summary listed above. As I listed already in the very beginning of this posting what I found. Yes, its also true that Voice Dialing is not longer working once this app is installed. I did not have Voice Dialing enabled indeed, I tweak the registry so that on the push of the button on the BT headset, it will turn on the BT headset to accept any sound from the PDA instead (I use this for VoIP application).
And now this is not longer working, so similar synthom with the Voice Dialing app.
Once last thing, I cannot uninstall this app.
So for those that have not tried it yet but insterested to try, I would recommend not to try it, just read what we have found so far here, and do not need to repeat the same experience.
Hopefully those guys who write this app read this posting as well and will make the fix.
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but my JAM with its lowly Windows 2003 Mobile SE has been showing the contact name if it exists on the SIM without any modifications on my SE HBH-662.
I made this observation about a year ago on HoFo and six or so months ago right here on XDA-Dev.
This is interesting to say the least.

Is it possible to trigger based on incoming caller ID

I am looking for an app that lets me do stuff when certain incoming numbers (either a simple editable list or a selection of contacts) call..... essentially I want the phone to answer and then hang up immediately so the numbers don't get my voicemail, they just get rejected.
At the moment I have the contacts set with a silent ringtone so I don't get disturbed, but sometimes I get voicemails from them and I want to prevent these.
I have had a look at Mortscript and can find how to handle incoming calls, just not how to handle incoming calls from specific contacts in specific ways.
Any help appreciated
go to www.youmail.com
i like this free service and it handles caller id calls more efficiantly than any software you can purchase.
Thanks for the link, unfortunately it's US only and I'm in the UK.
CallFirewall does exactly that what you need.
Try this:
http://www.mobiion.com/magicall.html
It does everything you asked, and a whole lot more.
+1 for magicall... it rocks
Thanks for the links guys, downloading them both now
Call Firewall didn't quite do the trick as I could only get it to go to voicemail, but Magicall does 100% what I want, plus more, so I promptly coughed up the cash for it
Somewhere else on the forum there's a program what lets you make your own interface in html with js/flash. you can use that and make javascript countdown for x seconds and than let it pick up and hang up... or whatever you want not the best solution but it still is a solution

[REQ] Voicemail stand alone application

I wonder if there is an application that would pick up my phone after some rings, and plays a message and people can drop a message.
So I will have a voicemailbox with recorded messages which I can point and click at, save them, listen again, etc. Just recorded als .mp3 on internal storage. Maybe even callback options, sms-back options etc.
I really hate dialling that voicemailbox number, choosing 1 and 2 to listen messages. I have no overvieuw of messages etc.
The app looks fairly simple to me. Does it exist already?
You're searching for some kind of on-device visual voice mail
I would really like to see this at this moment my voicemail is nothing more than a question to mail me or sms me but most people do not like that
one question when your phone is off or you are out of range what would you like another app to take it over?
This is a nice idea...
See it more as a secretary app. instead of a voicemail app.
Where you're in your car and you don't / can't talk.
Perhaps something with different messages you can choose from (you need to make them yourself?)
Something like "Hello this is <insert name>, I'm driving at the moment, please leave a message after the beep" *beep* The person leaves a message that will be saved as mp3 file for example.
@WvanWaas
When out of range, your 'standard' voicemail will take over.
But when in meetings, or as said, driving, it would be nice that the persons message can be stored on my device.
The ultimate thing would be that this program can dial my voicemail, automaticcally send DTMF tones (time and pattern), and store eventually new voicemailmessages locally. The number of new voicemails on my network is available (since manila uses it too).
With Telfort home-phone, I get emails with .mp3s of voicemail messages (VOIP). Thats really good.
With vodafone UK I was using vodafone mail - voicemails automatically appeared as emails with WAV attachments.
Was very handy
There dont exist any programs?
the only app is isecretary. it doesnt work on diamond though
I use www.youmail.com and also wrote a simple client to parse through my emails and just list my voicemails in a UI.
Youmail also does speech to text transcription so you don't even have to play the sound file-- just read it.
It not for outside US I guess...
It looks promising...
It exists for Nokia phones
I have not found an application as such for the diamond but I know that it exists for Nokia. With the Nokia N95 there is a built in application that works as a voicemail. Of course only when there is coverage and the phone is working.
The application picks up the call after some time (configurable) and plays a greeting message that you have previously recorded and after the beep, the caller can record his message. The application saves that recording and whenever you are available you can playback that message.
Hope to find one for Diamond.
Yup, my T-Mobile voicemail charges are silly, plus I'd like to have more control and functionality from my voicemail. An included blacklist filter would be handy too.
I have a Touch Pro (Raphael).. Is there really nothing around at the moment that will work? That's kind of strange.
Just kick this one up once more ...
This type of app could cause some expensive long distance charges if you were outside of your local calling area though, no? I'm thinking your phone would need to be connected to the call in order to record an .mp3 voice message locally on the device, whereas carrier voicemail can be received regardless of where you are anywhere in the world without costing you as the user a fee to receive a message.
I see that Touch HD can record calls.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457808&page=4
A simple application which auto-answers, plays a file, records a message and nicely puts them in a list, so I have total controll of my voicemessages?
That would be well killer-app... I'd pay for it, simply because I need it.
i realy want this app too!!!!!
Sounds nice to me as well
+1 here....

X1 saying name of caller when phone rings

On my Nokia N95 it would say the name of the person calling me. Can you do this on the X1 ?
do you mean like displaying the name of the person, even if their not saved in your contact list? like how the caller id does on a home phone?

No, the phone would speak out the name of the person calling. So if Joe Blogs called my on my N95 I would hear 'ring, ring, Joe Blogs, ring ring, Joe Blogs...........'
well...back on my blackjack II, i remember when i upgraded from wm 6.0 to 6.1, there was a new program up there called "Voice Command" that allowed you to do this. So I'm guessing it'd still work on the X1 since its an official microsoft program. So just try googling "Windows Voice Command"
Yes, get "Microsoft Voice Commad" and check the settings. By default it should be set to bluetooth only, but you can change it so it reads the name even without the bluetooth. I like it a lot with bluetooth, cause you can set it to also read your text to you
Yeah, but I can't find an answer if the BT on the X1a and MSVC has the same issue as on the Touch Pro, where if you have it say the name of the incoming caller, it won't. You get a corruption sound. Normally that a bell sound. So normally you get "<your ringtone> and in the background of the ringtone, you hear "you got a call from 888-8888"" Or instead of the phone#, you hear the name if its in your address book.
When its broken, you hear your ringtone and in the background a small beep"
here is the link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/about-voice-command.mspx
give it a try and let us know.
even i like that feature on nokia phones
My Voice Command doesn't work properly on incoming calls either. It doesn't say the name of the caller, or even the telephone number. I have seen it work perfectly on an Omnia. Odd that it doesn't work on the X1!

my previous phone use to display name of the callers, even if they werent stored in my contacts

much apperciated
You need MS Voice Command or something similar for X1 to talk.
The current version of MS Voice Command combined with the current WM6.1 build does not announce Caller ID even though the feature is there. Reasons...I don't know. All of the other voice funtionality works great though, including reading of SMS and MMS messages among other things.
caller anouncement doesnt work on the x1 and i dont think anyones has come up with a solution to it yet.
Same
It attenuates my rintone every so often as if it's going to say the name but it never does.
Certain versions of WM don't support caller announcement. I think it is explained on the MS website for Voice Command.

Caller Blacklist App ?

Hi
Is there an app that will allow me to either blacklist and reject calls, or direct them to a virtual voicemail box ?
Virtual VM being within the phone not the carrier ?
I had a similar app on my Nokia N95 8GB.
Thanks
You don't need a seperate app. Just add them as a contact and select Send to voicemail. Not tried it though.

Maybe you can create an mp3 file of silence then set that as the ringtone for those contacts you want to send to voicemail. Will that work?
I just came here about to post the same thing!
Individual blocking on a case by case basis is fine. But not powerful enough. I came from Nokia E series and the only thing I miss is Advanced Call Manager.
If you look up this program, what you will find is that it has some great features:
- You can set up many lists then just tell the phone to use the list for a whitelist or blacklist.
- You can block all unknown numbers.
- Block everyone. Essentially turns phone into pager.
Even blocking calls is done in a variety of ways.
- to voicemail
- to busy tone
- block and send sms
- divert to various numbers depending on mode
Etc.
As you can see, it is a very powerful program that is set up very easily and I never had any complains, only praise. I often used it when I was writing when I would only want my partner and my mother to contact me and would block everyone else.
I have been looking but can't see anything as powerful or as highly rated. What I've found are:
aFirewall
Extreme Call Blocker
Phone Armor C.
But these seem either basic or don't work reliably.
