new imate using w/t-mobile usa - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

iam new to this ...just got my imate from expansys... got a plan from tmobile usa phone and unlimited data... put sim in and phone worked right away... the data they said would take two hours to come in ... it seems its in because the G comes up on the top ... BUT... it does not conect ... i spoke to tmobile and of corse they state they are not ready to support this but they said it still should work ... they said go to settings... to connection-my isp and select cellular line (GPRS) then access point name....use internet2.voicestream.com then use no user name or password or domain hit finish ... this does not work it tries to connect says dialed internet2.voicestream.com ... cannot connect for unknown reason
please help Sean

Try using wap.voicestream.com or internet3.voicestream.com as your AP and see if that helps.

Blackberry APN Vodafone...

Please help...
I have a xda2 running on a corporate Bes server everything on Mail side works perfectly only problem i have is getting internet access to work through the hidden apn on the blackberry service.
I have looked though all the posts and not found much about this..
My question is ... do vodafone (uk) have a proxy server address or is this a problem with my sim (gprs) ?
I can use the standrd Apn from vodafone which works but drops my blackberry service when it connects.... so if you want to browse the web you will lose your email until you stop browsing and stop start BB service... Any ideas ?
Rom Version : 2.02.t1WWE
Radio version : 1.18.00
Thanks guys !... Really impressed with this wicked forum...
We have over 300 standard blackberrys and 1 xda2 I need to show them the xda is the future ...
Any consolation that it does the same for O2
It is set up so that if you connect to the internet, it drops BB until the internet connection is released. You have a BB APN & an (ISP) Internet APN.
Are you running BES4 yet? I heard that it was going to be better for XDA2 but haven't seemed to get any benefits yet
Blackberry Client
BaZzA,
We have just started with Blackberry and users are being supplied with the Blackberry 7100 . I have an XDA 2 on Vodafone IRl and have been trying to set it up but the only client software I can find for it is the T-Mobile I found a link to on this forum . I've checked the Vodafone.ie web site but they don't seem to like XDA for some reason .Any idea where I might find a client that doesn't have German settings ????
Thanks ...
HW
Both the client and the application i used ...
you will need to get your vodafone sim enabled for use on the blackberry.net APN.... does work fine ... until i tried a new sim cant seem to unlock my Pin code from my bes server...now
But does work very well..
Oh ... Puff The Magic Wagon!
not running Bes 4.0 yet will do very soon .
Baz
Tks
Thanks BaZza,
I'll give it a go with an enabled SIM tomorrow..

T End Of free access to o2

team
I have a XDA11i and ruin it on a P A G sim o2.
I can at a real high cost surf the net using GPRS Cellular line at 2.35 per meg !!!
I could also get on line free as cellular line , dial no 07712927927 , o2wap, password, ip 103,113,200.200 . ( very slow though )
But now each time I try to connect to the non GPRS connection I get the " no modem " box , despite the fact that if you dial the line on a normal phone it seems clear there still is ?
Any thoughts ???

Maybe O2 realised their configuration mistake at their end, and just closed off the username's access?
Older O2 payg sims had 300minutes of WAP dialup on them free each month.
I expect this is what you have, I used to use the same thing.
I often got the no modem response, its crappy o2 networks. If you try again in a couple days it may work again!
You can upgrade to 1meg GPRS for free a month instead of 300minutes, but to be honest, i think the 300minutes are worth more!
As far as I know the dialup number, username and password are all correct, but maybe the IP isnt. Try going back to server assigned ip.

Need some help with t-Mobile UK GPRS/3G Settings

Got myself an HTC Tytn a couple of days ago, found some config stuff on the internet, could connect with a big fat U at the top, but for the whole day now won't connect. Could someone share their T-mobile settings with me? I use a PAYG sim that has a £1 a day internet access, are the settings the same for payg as contract? Thanks in advance..
Re: t-Mobile UK GPRS/3G Settings same as Universals?

I've got a T-mobile VarioII but I know that there are some minor but significant differences between the 2 setups. Why not search on the 'Universal' forum for 'T-mobile Pay-s-u-go' settings which would include everything you need as the Universal is 3G also? Just a thought. Good luck.
good advice, thanks

I got a pay as you go sim from t-mobile last monday and it worked fine till early wednesday morning when it stopped working mid way through checking posts on here. Has not worked since and customer service have been unable to tell me why. It will not work in my web n walk pro data card either. I'm still trying to find out what's going on.
I will check on the settings but I've only found reference to the same connection settings.
My settings are...
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
User: user
Password: wap
Never needed anything else, no ports or proxys etc, just the above. Used them in my universal, wizard and no my tytn
For official t-mobile settings and setup guide see ...

Hope this helps.

or go straight to here:

Re: T-Mobile Wap, MMS and E-mail settings
Got it sorted!
Username should be: t-mobile
Password should be: tm
Payg sim started working straight away.
Also improves the times when the connection hangs on my data card as well.
Phil
I still can't connect (although it wasn't a problem a couple of days ago) I just get the following:
Connecting...
Locating...
Then it just hangs there. Anyone got any other ideas?

Mine can do this for upto a minute on each new connection. Once it eventually works mine will be fine for the remaining time of the connection.
Sean make sure you are using
general.t-mobile.uk NOT general.t-mobile.co.uk
The user and password I am using after converting my Orange 3100 is t-mobile and password.
Works fine for me.
Thanks Quilty, changing my password did the trick!

Cant get mobile internet working UK

Hi guys,
got my N1 this morning and been playing with it all day. Then i figured to test the mobile internet vs wifi. Thing is i cannot get anything to work over mobile internet? its just not loading/connecting as i recieved connection errors. Im on orange and got unlimited data usage plan. I've tried restarting the phone, restarted the service provider search and selected orange again but still no luck.
Any ideas how to get this working please?
You will probably need the settings from your provider and add a new apn check with orange for settings
go to menu settings
wireless controlls
mobile networks
access point names
menu select new apn
Name: Orange UK
APN: orangeinternet
rest of fields other then mnc and so forth at the bottom can be left the way they are blank. Should work if you have internet thru your provider
Thanks!! called up Orange directly and the lady was suprised i had a Nexus one. The phone call turned into a kind of review then she told me that she's prob the first person at orange to deal with a N1 user and she needed to check. After 2 mins she came back to say the system doesnt recognise my device.... and she cannot therefore send me any settings.
I've tried though m9 what you've given me and looked up further and managed to get it working like a charm. 3G's pumping away atm!! thanks mate you helped loads! appreciate it

I called Orange last week with exactly the same problem lol... they didnt have nexus one on the system, but the settings are exactly the same for HTC Hero so they just gave me those settings over the phone and worked.
If you go to the Orange website and look in the FAQ/Help section, you will find an entry about how to set up WAP and MMS - If you select the HTC Hero, the menu structure and entries are the same and worked for me on my Nexus One.
