[Q] HDMI output from Nexus 7 ? Is it possible at all ?

Hello, I have a Google Nexus 7 tabled and I like it very much. The only flaw I see is the screen colors but for budget tablet is is ok.
I have a question: Does Nexus 7 supports any microUSB to HDMI cable ?
I have read numerous posts in the internet about how Nexus 7 does not support neither HDMI or OTG - but I have a OTG cable and it works great, mice, keyboards, flash drives and even a 1 TB external hard drive work great on the tablet.
So I bought this cable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-1-5ft-1-5...912&pid=100015&prg=1085&rk=1&sd=230893786628&
but after I received it - I can't make anytong to make the cable work.
does anyone have any info on how to make it work or is is a possibility at all to have HDMI output on Nexus 7.
thanks.
As far as I know, n7 doesn't support any kind of HDMI out. As they have labeled that item as for the nexus 7 they are wrong... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope, sorry but there is no way. Unless no way known to me...and believe me, I made a very wide research!

[Q] Headsets with Remotes on Windows?

I know Headsets with remotes and mics don't work on all devices...
Do they work with Windows 8 (or any version for that matter) computers if your computer has a 4-pin port?
I tried searching but everything comes up with Windows Phone and not Windows Desktop/Tablet
Not entirely sure what you mean by "remotes" and it also depends on the headset (Apple had to go and "think different" from the rest of the industry by inventing their own proprietary BS headset configuration) but my smartphone's earbuds+headset work fine on my Surface RT. To the PC, a 4-pin socket is just a headphone jack and a mic jack that happen to be in the same place; they should work on any Windows version. Electronically, there's nothing special about them (except the Apple ones, which are a "special" sort of special).
Okay, well maybe my computer doesn't have a 4 pin... So that might be the reason why it might not work...

What device is it. It is very rare/almost non existant on laptops and I have never seen it at all on a desktop system. Some of the windows 8 tablets might have them though.

Are you sure? I have a thinkpad t510 (1st Gen i7) and the only audio port is a 4 pin.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, my Lenovo also uses a 4-pin combined port. It's the only laptop line I've seen do so, though; even netbooks (which need the space) have in my experience always used two separate ports. I'm sure there are others, but probably not many yet. It helps that so many people now have smartphone headsets which use 3.5mm 4-pin jacks; previous, it was rare to find a device that plugged into a 4-pin.

What is wrong with this Nexus 7 2013 showing Razor cell phone.

I am seeing weird things. When I search Bluetooth my computer see the Nexus 7 as( RAZOR cell phone) and the Nexus 7 doesn't even see my computer. What the heck is up with that. Out of the other 4 I had my computer would find it as a Nexus 7 device.
My device was a JWR66N then I updated it by the OTA update to JSS15Q it ran like crap so bad I couldn't use it. So I did a sideload of this file.
35d9b692a660c2ea96ce1181b006c7fddf2cb208.signed-razor-JSS15Q-from-JWR66N.35d9b692.
So is my Nexus 7 not running a stock rom now or what. But my Bluetooth is not working at all. My GPS is not working very good. My case cover is not doing the auto wake with the Nexus 7.
Should I be running a different rom. Can I get it back to Orig like its supposed to be.
Please tell me how.

Screenshot or it didn't happen.
It finds these 2 things as Bluetooth it the Nexus 7 ,I don't have anything else Bluetooth around. My last 4 of these that I took back never said Razor cellphone. Just Nexus 7.
Windows 8 with I7 Asus pz68-v pro gen 3 over clocked at 4.7 GHz all the time.
Any chance that razor cellphone is just from a neighbor or roommate?
Does it show up when you go to a different location?
have you tried pairing with it? if the pairing screen doesn't come up on the N7 then its not that, and you might have gremlins living under your house with whatever that razor thing is as their communal phone.

Lenovo has lowered the price now to $379. I have asked if they will charge my card with the new price or if the old price stays..
Can you charge and mount USB at the same time with this thing?
The realization that there's only one USB port on this device made me wonder if it shared this limitation, and from what I've read, it does. Can anybody confirm this? I can't settle for rumors and stringing together nebulous conjectures. Once they appear in my local Best Buy/MicroCenter I'll be testing this myself, of course.
If anybody's got it, I'd really like to know that. That's kind of the deal-breaker for me. It was the biggest reason I didn't get the Venue 8 Pro (that, and lack of reliable video-out). I don't mind carrying a host cable around with me everywhere either, or the spare battery... or even a tiny USB hub. I just want to know that I can use USB and charge at the same time so I can have a very mobile "desktop" experience wherever I decide to bust out my tablet. No more damn Chromecast bugginess, no more damn finnicky MHL connectors.
I know that the Venue 8 Pro simply cannot do two at the same time; I tested this fact in the store by connecting a host cable, a power source (2.1amp rav power backup battery) and a USB thumb drive. Mounts just fine with a USB OTG cable, but will just not mount and charge at the same time.

Very few devices can. Most USB Hubs cannot backfeed power, so you cannot use USB host adapters to a powered USB hub to charge the tablet most of the time, regardless of if it actually supports charging while in host mode, there is a raspberry pi compatibility list which lists a few hubs which can or cannot backfeed power (the pi can be backpowered via its USB host ports but this is not recommended and can conflict with other inputs). Most tablets though require the D+ and D- wires in the USB connector to be shorted together to enter charging mode, otherwise they will only trickle charge (or not at all), with D+ and D- shorted you cannot transmit data. Turns it into a case of data or power only.
Frankly, you want the desktop experience, yet are purchasing something running 32 bit windows on an intel atom wih 2gb of RAM and either 32 or 64gb of eMMC storage. I think an i5 device would probably be more up your street, most of them have separate power supplies and USB host ports.

Hello again, did you receive the tablet on the 11th? Would love to hear some first impressions. I am in particular interested in finding out how the cover works as a stand and if you can have it standing both horizontally and in portrait.
Thanks

If you are referring to the thinkpad 2 10" tablet, that used a microUSB for charging and had a seperate full size USB host port (the micro USB was not host capable). The dell venue and lenovo thinkpad 8 both use microUSB for combined charge and host.
If the power and USB host ports are seperate then there is no issue. The issue arises when its a combined port which is what most of the atom tablets are opting for.

There was a delay.
Played with mine on the weekend.
The cover works as a stand pretty well. As long as the surface inst too slippery you can put the stand on slightly different angles too.
It also is strong enough to work on vertical too.

What do you use it for? I'm considering selling my 8 inch LG G Pad for an 8 inch Windows 8 tab. I'm contemplating this or a refurbished Surface Pro for about the same price. Just wondering if Bay Trail is really a lot better than Clover trail. I had a ThinkPad Tablet 2 and it was God awful.
I got mine on the 11th. It's been fun ever since. I can't believe I like Win 8 as much as I do. I'm still looking for a BT keyboard and a case... Like always it's slim pickins...

im guessing it had something to do with the cable being used. i tried two cables, one of which worked and the other didnt. no idea what the difference was, aside from a different manufacturer. luck of the draw i guess...in any case, it was a bit finicky even with the one that actually worked in the end.

I am confused of what you are saying, did mhl work or not on Mate 8 ?
Since MHL adapters are expensive I take no chances.
But as it looks now MHL might be my only life boat left to recover my sms database... luckily I have my contact book synced in my huawei smart watch..but I have to recover it manually
which is takes a lot of time to do and is a lot of pain

in simple terms: yes it did work. but it does not work with all cables. some cables work, other cables do not work. i dont know why that is. your best bet is to order several different MHL cables online (i.e. amazon) and then send back the ones that dont work inside the 14 day return window.

i never said the cables were bad or broken. there are several options:
1) length and/or quality of the cable
2) manufacturer compatibility with different phone brands
3) active or passive converter with or without additional power line
4) version of MHL, dont remember what the current one is, but there are at least three generations (if not more) of MHL standards out so far
these are the options i can think of, but wouldnt be surprised if there were more
