Qtek 1010 ROM software upgrade Available Now

Dear friends
this is my first time to post in this forum which has lots of informative and cool stuff which i like so much.
first :-
i would like to thank all people who's running this forum, who spend lots of time and efforts.
second :-
I have got recently the latest ( RUU ) Radio Unit Upgrade 3.16.52 and ( RSU ) Radio Stack Upgrade version 3.23.01 which has lots of fixes.
i upgraded my Qtek 1010 and it works smoothly with no problems, it was piece of cake process, i have tested the GPRS services which is not lanuch yet officially in Saudi Arabia but maybe it might be available for the public later last year ( could be last quarter of this year ) i was one of the lucky persons to have a Test account as beta tester or friendly customer.
this upgrade has GPRS suspend mode which enables you while your device in power saving mode to keep the connection or end it.
also it comes with small utility which is called ( WM ) WModem, this utility will simulate your device as wireless modem and let your PC/Notebook be connected to network wirelessly, it has two connection type Serial and IrDA.
i'll try to find free host site and upload it there when i got free time.
if anybody interested to have it, Please send me login Access details for FTP server so i can upload it there.
the file size for ( RUU ) Radio Unit Upgrade version 3.16.52 is 13.3 MB and the ( RSU ) Radio Stack Upgrade version 3.23.01 is 1.7 MB
best regards and have a great weekend.

Othman
Dear all
finally it's done and you can enjoy the latest upgrade and here's the instructions.
How to upgarde your Qtek 1010 ?
i have uploaded the Software ROM upgrade at the following site with the help of our friend Antonin Hruska LumpiStefan who provide me free space and thanks to Markh for mirrored the updates with some UK 02 specific instructions .
Download the upgarde files from the mirrored site since the prevous link was not working here
1. Backup your data via ActiveSync or onto a Storage Card. if you don't have ActiveSync you can dowload it here
2. Upgrade the CE build before upgrading the Radio build by running this file first RUU 3.16.52.exe
3. Attach your Qtek 1010 directly to the computer with either a USB cable or Serial cable
4. Ensure the ActiveSync connection is running and is connected to the device and make sure it's connected to the power.
5. After the hard reset the CE update is complete.
6. Reconfigure CE and restore your data.
7. Attach Your Qtek 1010 to the computer again and disconnect the power supply and make sure it's charged Minimum 70 % & it's highly recommended to set off the Security PIN or disable it through start/settings/personal/phone as advice by Mr. Waleed in another threat on this forum
8. Run this file RSU 3.23.01.exe
9. After the soft reset the radio update is complete.
if your device didn't start the upgrade for any reason do hard rest and follow the instructions carefully
good luck and enjoy your little toy
if you need to contact me for any reason this is my E-Mail address [email protected]
Regards.

Othman great job man. I upgraded my QTEK and everything is working great. The GPRS always on is excellent so as the WM. really man you saved us all. Great job man 2 thumbs up. I will be posting the ROMs on my site too very very soon so i can help in spreading the message.
The upgrades are great, thanks again.
Really GOOD. Othman, thanks a lot, you are our rescuer.
Hi
Guys did any one tried the upgrade for t-mobile?
or did any one used the upgrade for 900/1900 XDA?
Thanks
The Qtek upgrade will only upgrade the Qtek (unless you twiddle the bits in the binary as described elsewhere on this forum).
BUT it cannot be used to upgrade a T-Mobile or AT&T device. The build is 900/1800 only and you will lose you 1900 ability, ie it won't work in the USA.
Where can i find the new English upgrade for t-mobile pocket pc?

Can I remove o2 software from an XDA IIi?

Hi there, new here.
Have had a search but couldn't find an answer so:
I have an o2 XDA IIi.
Is it possible at all to reset this device to just a generic device without all the o2 software mods?
If it is does it affect its ability to work on the o2 network (or other networks)- voice and data only.
Also, can this device be upgraded to WM2005 at all?
Thanks
Andrew
hi,
search at this forum about unlock sim tools, so that you can use other networks.
there's no WM2005 for this device.
thanks
Just search for Pug's modified ROM with all the o2 Stuff ripped off. Or install the i-mate or qtek ROMs for this device, as I have done. It works fine, and doesn t effect the operation on the o2 network. You will have to download a CAB file with all the o2 settings off either the i-mate website or on these forums, though.
Thanks
Simpler one is while doing a hard reset ..
when the PDA installing the customization stuff it will ask you to specifiy if your Pocket PC for Personal or Corporate just press cancel
then again press cancell if it tries to install any software then it will ask you are U sure you want to cancel installing 'O2 Mobile Solution SLR' just press Yes ..
thats all
Now your PDA out of O2 setting and customizations ..
NOTE : every hard reset you need to repeat the procedure as it stored in the ROM....
if you wana get rid of all these stuff permenantly used ( ripped-off modified rom ) from xda-developmers ftp site
cheers
Thank you for the replies.
I have tried the soft reset method for now - knowing me I would mess up the ROM upgrade!
Does the job and now looks a lot cleaner
Unlocked too and now running Vodafone...
Andrew
Just another quick question.
Getting confused as to exactly the make and model of my XDA IIi.
I had a look on the i-mate site as suggested above but when I register it does not like my EMEI number.
I also see the Himalaya/Andes and Alpine all look physically the same.
Which is mine and who actually makes it?
The model no of the device says PH10C.
Thanks
Andrew
The XDA IIi is an Alpine.
You can not register an o2 IMEI on i-mate's or Qtek's website, or vice versa. They are different distributors!!!
However, most of the Alpine ROMs can be found on this website or by Googling 'HTC ROM' or something alike.
For i-mate's ROMs, visit here:

Where can I find official HTC ROM updates?

Goodmorning,
Does someone know where I can download official HTC released ROM files? HTC doesn't publish their ROM images on a own FTP server, but referes to the operator sites. I bought my P3300 in the Netherlands (www.misco.nl), but my device isn't (apparently) imported trough the official Dutch importer (www.smartmobility.nl). Smart
Mobility doens't have my IMEI number in their database, with the result that I can't access the ROM-updates. Does someone know the official UK HTC importer, where I can try to check for ROM-updates? I suppose they will recognise my IMEI-number...
I can't understand why HTC distributes their ROM update so laborious. It would be much easier I they would publish it on www.htc.com. Is is easy, one central point for all customers and users are always 100% sure that they have the latest version of the ROM. Now we are depenable of the "operators" and they use IMEI-verification, maybe they are late with putting ROM updates online, etc, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Roger
Well for now you shouldn't worry - there aren't any 'official' upgrades at the moment (I just checked the Smart Mobility site). When/if they are released, I'm sure you'll be able to get them through different channels.

art_tmouk_11311001_024990_wwe_ship.exe does it work?

has anyone managed to get this to update a Artemis with a different Vendor ID?
its available here
http://rapidshare.com/files/17854890/art_tmouk_11311001_024990_wwe_ship.exe
um 100% failure.
looks like it does not work
I couldn't get it to work either.
If I get imei-check to clear the "bricked" software, anyone got any suggestions which is the best rom to give them to repair the Orbit with?
T-Mobile (as above) - but assume no wifi software
Or what - ?
Jeff (waiting for imei-check to get back from holidays!)
