HELP
I installed WM2K5 V1.60, happy as a baby.
But by installing the first ppc-program the mda2 won’t reset
I try anything also put the battery out and in it stays at the same screen, see attachment...PLEASE HELP
Do you mean it wont go back to WM2003 ?
If so then , thats because you have installed a new ROM ont your phone ... it will never be able to return to the old WM2003 you used to see when doing a hard reset because that software has been overwrote by the new WM2005 ROM.
There most likely will be a way to downgrade to WM2003 though.
If thats not what u ment then im sorry for talkin crap
You are saying it is sticking on the boot screen, but it was ok until you installed a program? Which program did you install?
try to format storage
you better go tho the wiki page and find how to hard-reset
then go to the boot menu and format the storage i beleave that will solve it
The program that I installed was the [email protected]#$% “MobiMate WorldMate 2005 Professional V3.0.20”
I let the battery out for the night and I tried this morning,
I know I was desperate so you try anything
I try also to overwrite the WM2k5, no contact with the mda2.
If the picture (see attachment) is showing the “hard reset” then I don it, without result...it sty at the start screen (see above)
If hard-reset is other combination, then please show me

i dont know whats happening !!!!!!!!!!!!
but i tried EVERYTHING and still stucks at bootloader screen!!!
the thing is ... that this method does not work "1) Use two fingers to simultaneously press the RECORD and CAMERA buttons of the phone (on the phone's left side). Whilst these two buttons are depressed, use the stylus to click the soft-reset button underneath the phone - keep the two buttons depressed until the boot loader screen appears.
2) This should enable three options on the boot screen. These options allows a YES/NO response. Use the RECORD and CAMERA buttons to navigate between the options, and switch the YES/NO values. Set the following:
1] Enable KITL: NO (this is a debug tracing option which isn't required, except possibly for developers)
2] Format Registry Hive: YES (clears the registry)
3] Format Storage: YES (formats the internal memory: "\" directory, and under "\RamDisk\". Items under any storage card "\Storage Card\" are not formatted).
i can make a YES or NO at KTL but i cant scroll down with those keys to enable option 2 and 3
any ideas?
3) Once these options are set, press the MAIL button (in between today and the Pocket IE button) to confirm these options, and continue with the Registry and Storage format.
4) The device performs the reset, and the Windows CE setup screens (ie. screen alignment etc.) appear. Continue as per a new install.

WM 6.5 File Permissions & Soft Reset

Well, hello there!
I.
Recently I wanted to move (or to copy) Task Manager (Task Manager.exe) in Windows/Start Menu/Programs and did not succeed.
I tried through (3) ways, via:
1. computer (phone connected via activesync)
2. phone's File Explorer
3. Resco File Explorer
None of them ways let me move or copy that file (windows protected?).
II.
On the other hand, is there a way to restart the phone without taking the battery cover and remove the battery or press the red button ( a combination of buttons, maybe)?
Thank you all!
Soft reset
Gid day.
I beleive that you can do a soft reset by pressing the End/Power button for about 3 seconds and you will be taken to a screen with a number of options. The top option is Power Off. Pessing that will power down the unit then all you have to do is power it back up again.
I know it is a long winded way of doing things but it's the only way I've come across so far.

That file is on the ROM(read only memory), you can't move it. make a link to it instead.
There are several programs that let you put alink to shutdown/restart on your phone. I use xdashutdown, but there are others.

preprogramed software reset

ive got an htc touch pro that has had the meid number changed to that of another htc touch pro...my question is...is there anyway to reset the main software to revert the meid back to its orginal number that came with the phone....
1st option is Clear Storage then 2nd option is Hard Reset
Did you try to use 'Clear Storage'?
Clear Storage
You can also use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings.
2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.
3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
If the above method did nothing for your device then
in my opinion it's time to do a 'HARD RESET' for your device...
Important;
If Encrypt files, when placed on a storage card is enabled, backup all files from the storage card before using Clear Storage, hard reset, or updating the ROM system software. Otherwise you will no longer be able to access the encrypted files on the storage card. Use ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center to transfer files between your storage card and computer. After the procedure, copy your files back to the storage card.
To perform a HARD RESET
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Make sure that any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before you perform a hard reset.
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
3. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete
all your personal data,
and reset all settings
to manufacturer default.
Press VolUp to restore
manufacturer default, or
press other keys to cancel.
4. Release the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, then press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
:END
IMO this will revert the meid back to its original number.
Senax
You will have to manually change the meid back yourself. Look on www.mobile-files.com
