XDA II & TraceLogger - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I notice that I can't find it
Is it because HTC reads this forum? Anyway, I don't have a copy of the .exe so don't know if it would work with XDA II - anyone email me a copy so I can find out?
[email protected]
Something else I have that is .ril based doesn't work
(Please post here if you email it - just in case I get 1000 copies  )
Thanks

Just on the way to you

Jason
Thank you.
Nothing has turned up yet

see http://xda-developers.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3307
haven't tried it my self yet, but I think that is how you get those logs.

Just got round to having a brief play with those settings.
Produces a .pco file, which can "almost" be viewed with pword.
Extracted to a PC & viewed we get

Can someone make sense of that? Or provide something to decipher .pco? Thats been opened in word but stangely copy/paste has changed it a bit...
I'm not a programmer & nor do I live in an area with good O2 coverage  so some info may/may not be there.
Any thoughts or ideas or pointers?

OK - Bit more, pulled my CellID out of this lot...

Hi, has anyone tried the TraceLogger executable on the HTC Magician (Qtek S100, I-Mate etc.) ?
If so, can anyone please send me a copy of the binary to lars [at] sral.org?
regards,
Lars Wilhelmsen

Great Idea
I have a samsung Galaxy S phone and there is a piece of software someone wrote that searches the Samsung host sites for firmware versions and allows you to DL the version you want and update accordingly. If we know what location they sit on, then someone might be able to so the same for Acer Firmware updates.

any link about this things ?
Try fiddler2 if you want to play with HTTP requests.
If the request was ok, the JSON response contains an OTA url. Sadly the IMEI (= Bluetooth MAC) and the "id" must be correct.

what if someone who got the OTA, give is IMEI we will be able to trick the server ?
I'm sorry, but this thread begs the question "Why would you want OTA from Acer" when they don't even have 3.1 fully out to all their tablets yet, and everyone else is already getting 3.2?!?
If Acer doesn't get their act together, I will say that my Tegra 3 tablet certainly won't be an Acer, that much is certain!

Actually what will be the benefit of the 3.2 over the 3.1? just to know... I didn't see a big stuff...
Optimizations for a wider range of tablets
Android 3.2 includes a variety of optimizations across the system to ensure a great user experience on a wider range of tablet devices.
Compatibility zoom for fixed-sized apps
Android 3.2 introduces a new compatibility zoom mode that gives users a new way to view fixed-sized apps on larger devices. The new mode provides a pixel-scaled alternative to the standard UI stretching for apps that are not designed to run on larger screen sizes, such as on tablets. The new mode is accessible to users from a menu icon in the system bar, for apps that need compatibility support.
Media sync from SD card
On devices that support an SD card, users can now load media files directly from the SD card to apps that use them. A system facility makes the files accessible to apps from the system media store.

hahaha
maybe when the era of tegra 3 will come we will get a brand new android less messy as well
I think it's not only ACER have to be blame...
other are maybe releasing the 3.2 but...
if you take Xoom... how can you dare sell a tablet with an sdcard not working... and waiting for an update... 3.0.1..no...3.1...no....3.2...yes ??? hu why!!!!
at least Acer released a fully working tablet (some bugs but not something incomplete)
I agree they are in a bad way of doing things lately

I guess the translation was missed with the language barrier. The point is why do you want to download updates for a device when there are no updates to have?
I'm hoping you understand the question now?

I'm guessing either you're about 12 years old, or do not have a good command of the English language, because I neither said nor intimated any such thing. However I do believe that the use of that language is a direct violation of the terms here at XDA, and I'll ask you not to use it again.

Hmm. Wanna be forum mod?
Anyways. I actually understand the request for this. Not everyone likes to move away from stock but do want to have the latest and greatest from the company. Also, if we had a way to get the OTAs they could be rooted and uploaded that much quicker.
What the heck!
call the moderator or be one and ABUSE of your all mighty power (in your case I am guessing that will compensate something..)
I didn't threaten you neither speaking bad to you...<add any rude words you would like hear there>... I was just pointing the fact that you are obviously saying
"why do you expecting something from acer.. when dev do better on xda"
translation
"Acer = ****, Xda = rules"
and I repeat again... maybe you was not really reading or just under shrooms
"if you are here to say "ACER = ****" just walk away..."
that's it.
and also you may respect my effort to speak your mother native language when it's not mine ok?
by the way I think it's a real violation of my human rights to be disgracefulled from you by guessing I am 12 years old... I will wrote a letter to the governement to put you on a jail for the rest of your life....without your tablet!
gosh it's incredible how people are so ready to get their gun and shoot...

You just used foul language again, that's twice in two posts in this thread alone. Maybe English language is not your native tongue, but you'd better learn not to use foul language, because it's against the terms you agreed to when signing up for these forums. I'll go ahead and report the abuse to a moderator, and if nothing is done, I'll take it up the line from there.
I don't understand what the hell they are speaking about...
anyone can explain clearly what is wrong ?
Go ahead and report to a moderator I don't see anything wrong with my posts
*(I reported you already as well)*
I asked if someone could or would make a tools and a guy come to troll the post with some message that I understand is more against ACER and not related to the post itself.
Chill Everyone
We all have a right to free speech, but lets not get carried away people and turn this thread into a outlet of Rants and personal attacks. Chill Everyone.
Back to the ORIGINAL POST....
I do think that this is a good idea for a tool. Not everyone has been fortunate enough to receive OTA updates and a tool that can probe the host site to see what updates are sitting there in the background and pull individual files down to would be great. This would allow those who have not yet received the OTA to update manually and stick with Branded ROMS.
I understand not everyone wants to install custom ROMS like I do, but I also understand not everyone wants to use the official ROMS also. That is the beauty of XDA Forums, we are all individuals and should be sharing our experiences and knowledge.
thanks, for your answer
I try to get fiddler works
I hopes I could find a fiddler like for android and run it on my tablet (there is a wireshark but it's sooooo... user unfriendly hahaha no offense to the dev who made it, great job, but the interface and the readability is... well I had to go on the computer read the capture )

Finally: Underclocked and much cooler GPAD

At first... sorry for my english.
Standard disclaimer.
I am not responsible for any damage or problems you may have!
Use at your own risk.
Any try to underclock in the past with many apps get failed for Qualcomm mpdecision control of cpu frequency... ONLY 1st core are underclockable, disabling mpdecision with trickster mod give some results... randomly.
Running antutu many times we get worst results when cpu is hot. It's the Thermald that scale the frequency according to a table in respect of the temperature...
A simple idea... a simple trick... edit thermald!
edit the file:
/system/etc/thermald-8064.conf
and reboot.

Very nice, will have to give this a go!
So to convert this to human, both stock and mod throttles down to cpu 1.13ghz cpu and 128mhz gpu at 70c and act about the same till 50c.
below 50c the mod throttles down to 1.35ghz, while stock goes to 1.7ghz. That seem about right?
you can check CPU states with perfmon http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933284

they throttle also lcd, fps, battery
i've introduced a step at 14 to lock the freq at a cooler temp.
throttle are commanded by thresholds and thresholds_clr value.
in original at first step:
"thresholds" 44 when temp raise 44 then throttle by "actions" value
"thresholds_clr" when temp below 40 then reset value (clear).
and so on 44 -> 47 -> 50 ->
and 40 <- 45 <- 48 <-
First, great finding dude!
But, you have to change the "holes" in your temps, the temperatures are a range, like 10-14 and 44-10, you have a hole in 15 to 43, you have to change to 10-43 for it to work like you want. And not leave any hole in the other temps too.
And not forget that the file need to be rw-r-r.

Battery usage analysis

Hi,
I have a Note 3 SM-N9005 running a Temasek's UNOFFICIAL CM12.1 with an arte97 kernel and the latest bootloader and modem. Yesterday I changed my 18 months old battery with a new Anker 3200mAh battery.
Although, the battery life increased with about 30-40%, I still feel like I don't get enough Screen ON timpe when comparing my battery stats to others I found online. Some people get arroung 6 hours os Screen ON time, while I only got about 3 and a half hours. I also use greenify to freese a lot of apps and I did not use GPS in this session.
Can someone please take a look at my BBS logs and tell me if there's something that eats too much battery, some service that I may not be aware of? I'm asking this here becouse at a first glance, everything looks OK. Or maybe I am mistaken and my battery life is OK...or maybe after a new battery only reaches its full potential after more than one cycle, the attached logs being for my first cycle after the replacement. I am pasting here only the top consumers because the log is really long. For the entire thing, please check the attachment. There are many other parameters like alarms (many), CPU and Network logs.
I would really appreciate any oppinion. Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I have a Note 3 SM-N9005 running a Temasek's UNOFFICIAL CM12.1 with an arte97 kernel and the latest bootloader and modem.

Upload screen shots of bbs. Don't archive
Here are the BBS screenshots. However, they were taken while the battery was still at 63% - 1 h 34 m Screen ON time.
Again, it's better than before but still worse than other stats I see, especially since this is a new battery and I greenify some things.
Thank you.
Disable nfs using the Disable Service app. If you don't use nfs.
Your issue seems to be bam_dmux wakelock. Just long press any of those stats and they will get copied, then Google them.

bam_dmux_wakelock should be related to your radio signal. I guess you are always on mobile data or you have very poor reception.

Thank you. The bam_dmux_wakelock percentage seem to become bigger and bigger even though I followed your advice and tried to make it somehow less active. I will look into it more in detail.

You can not "fix" the demux wakelock. It ensures your modem is demodulating data coming through the gsm network.
Charge the phone to 100% and set it to airplane mode. Then observe awake time over SOT.

ZTE Cellular Data Reception

I wish to submit the following Speedtest.Net results.
Can anyone tell me what is going on?

There appears to be a HUGE difference in the speed of cellular data transfer, both on a HSDPA network, and on a LTE network.
WHY???
