Help!! Want to downgrade from WM2003 to 2002 - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I upgraded my ROM to ROMKitchen ver 4.00.11 ENG (WM2003). I want to downgrade to 3.17 ENG. Is there any way to do it directly by ActiveSync?

T-Mobile ROM's do not allow you to use Programme A to downgrade ROMS. This effectively means that running any setup program using activesync will result in a communications error. The only way to do it is by Flashing the ROM using the bootloader method.

4.00.11 is not a T-Mobile ROM. you shouild be able to go to Jeff's ROMKitchen and build yourself a 3.17.00 exe and just run it.

ROM 3.17 - Infrared problem
I have Qtek, not Tmobile, but anyway, I managed to flash with 3.17.03 obtained from Jeff's kitchen. Everything is working just fine, except infrared port. It just would not work. Infrared Receive program says unable to establish infrared connection while mobile device is conected to the desktop. The beam files doesn't work either. Can anybody suggest remedy?

4.00.10 --> 4.00.05 (WILL NOT ALLOW)

I updated my XDA from ROMkitchen 3.17.03 to T-Mobile 4.00.10 with the radio upgrade to 6.24. I also had to update my ActiveSync to ver 3.7.
I didn't want the mumbo-jumbo that came with 4.00.10 and I wanted to get ROMkitchen 4.00.05, but it would not allow the connection. When I execute ROMkitchen 4.00.05, I get this error message below:
“error: GetConnectionType – An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
error getting connection”
My ActiveSync (ver 3.7) is still connected. Any suggestions?
-Thanks
I think you should try to downgrade the RUU via SD card method and the WALLABY bootloader. I used that method while testing 4.00.10 ENG and my original 3.19.03GER http://xda-developers.com/XDArit/
Chris
downgrade Microsoft ActiveSync ithink the XDArit will only work with 3.6 ActiveSync

XDA O2 Unlock

Hello!
What can I do, if I don't have any cable? (no usb or serial cable)
ROM 3.14.16 GER
Radio 4.21
Is there any chance to unlock?
THX for help!
Kajakarz
Without serial or usb cable? Do you have a card reader? How do you synchronise your xda or load programs.? Anyway what you need is the xdaunlock.exe program, you need to get it into your xda via sd card or beam it using infrared beam from another device, then use file explorer to locate file, tap on xdaunlock.exe then it should unlock.
I just noticed you have radio version 4.21, there are issues with that radio stack and xdaunlock so it maybe best for you to look at the different forum headings and learn a little about this.
HI,
tomorow I will get a USB cable, so I can update the ROM to version 3.19.01 from o2 GER. I would like to use xdaunlock.exe .
Could someone tell me, if it then works?????
ROM 3.19.01 GER
Radio 4.21
THX

As long as you tick the xdaunlock box when building the rom it should work fine after you have cooked and burned your rom. If you use the special edition developers rom it unlocks automatically on first boot after the new rom is burned, however I had to look for the xdaunlock program on my xda when using the kitchen rom, once found I just tapped the xdaunlock.exe and it worked fine. I would advise you strongly to back up your existing rom via the sd card method or using the tools available on the forum before burning a new rom, better safe than sorry.
Your other option is to download the xdaunlock program from here http://xda-developers.com/XDAunlock/ then copy it to your xda, use file explorer to locate where you put it and then tap and execute it from there.
Hi,
It doesn't work. My configuration now ROM 3.19.01 GER and Radio 4.21. There ist no wireless modem application in that version, that' why xdaunlock.exe doesn't work. Is it possible to install Wireless modem as applikation?
If I use "special rom" to unlock, is ot possible to turn back to original o2 rom?
THX for help!

Help, Loaded T-Mobile ROM now cannot go back to SX56

I did a cooked rom in one of the kitchens using a T-mobile ROM. I don't like the look or feel, don't have a linux machine so cannot use the special edition ROM.
My problem is my backup is corrupt and now I have created a new ROM in the yorch.net kitchen and downloaded Siemens ROM from their site and when I go to install it it says my SX 56 is not connected even though I look at active sync and everything works fine.
What can I do? :?:
You need to slow down and be more descriptive. Yorch does not have ATT's ROM on his site. How did you upgrade? Did you use an .exe or the OSToolset or the SD Card method? Take it one step at a time. How did your backup get corrupted?
I used the T-mobile or yorch's site to cook a new rom, I have been trying to unlock the phone and thought maybe that would give me something that the unlocker would work with.
I upgraded with an .exe
I backed up to an SD Card and when I shutdown my laptop while on the road some security program andjusted the file son the card so now I cannot restore.
I have tried using another ROM from the kitchen and the one from Siemens website upgrade and both times when I try to install I'm told there is no connection to my laptop. But I can see active sync working and saying it's connected.
Just get the 3.02 ROM from the kitchen, use the OSToolset to put it on an SD Card, and install it using the SD Card method. You won't need to have an active connection to your computer then.
Where do I find a kitchen with that rom for the ATT SX56?
I cannot access Jeff's & Yorch's site only has the newer T-Mobile and the PPC2003.
You will not find the Original SX56 ROM by itself. If you want to go back, download the old O2 3.02 ROM, install it, and then run the newest ROM upgrade from ATT.
I can use the O2 rom on a 900/1900 system? excuse me for my ignorance, but I don't want to fry my machine as this is my third one and I really want this one to work, long story.
As long as you don't update the radio stack of your device you are pretty much free to try any ROM you want. However, the intention is NOT to use the O2 ROM for anything other than having an old ROM on your device that the SX56 ROM you download from ATT will recognize as updatable. Hence, you will be able to put back the SX56 2002 ROM. As always, anything you do is at your own risk.
Thanks, I got it working and sombody gave me an image of the XDA developer rom for my unit and now it is unlocked and works great.

I also know I need a radiostack which will work on my XDa once it has been updated to 2003.

Hi,
if ur phone works fine in making/receiveing calls, then all u need is a ROM upgrade. goto the kitchen at www.yorch.net and cook a ROM based on 4.00.05 ENG. select the file to be an exe file. download the file to ur PC and connect the xda to the cradle and make sure it's connected to power. run the exe and follow the instructions.
good luck
Hi,
Thanks Biso007 for all your info/help.
I am currently downloading the file that I 'cooked' as I type this out however one thing I was not sure about was in the string section was I to change the string to 4.00.05 as it was set on 3.16 ...
I did change it and its downloading I assume there should not be any issues.
If there is any concerns or if I did the wrong thing by that please inform me... BTW the file was made into an .exe.

Hi,
I visited www.yorch.net and 'cooked' my own ROM made it into an exe and have it downloaded right here it's a 4.05.00 rom flash but I have to ask what software can I use to flash the unit with because I do not have an SD card so I am stuck using my PC to do the flash, I have the official backup files for my ppc from 02's site so I am ok I guess if all else fails i will flash back to what I am currently using.
I wanted to flash the rom onto my ppc however what software can I use? I tried Microsofts Sync software I have 3.7 but it doesnt allow me to flash as it gives me an error message.
Message says:
"Your Device Information;
PW10A1:001

Your upgraded image info;

Any help would seriously be appreciated, but what is the compatible utility?

unfortunately this is a known issue with some ROMs that can't accept the exe method. you are stuck with the SD card upgrade.
Will adaptrom not work for this?

Please help with old PW10B1

My friend bought long time ago; on ebay. Appears sim-locked.
Now i'm trying to help him in unlocking, i have read lot of treads, and tryed several programs, but still no luck.
Can you guys please help me and advise how to ulock the phone.
Configuration is:
T-Mobile pw10b1
MS Pocket PC v.3.0.12039 (buid 11178)
ROM 3.08.10 ENG (07/11/02)
Radio 6.02
Protocol 324e4
Bootloader 5.15
Network adapters:
AsyncMac1 NDISWAN Adapter
NE2000 Compatible Ethernet driver
PPTP1 NDISWAN Adapter
What I did:
using this page http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wallaby_HT_Unlock2
-Installed ActiveSync from MS site;
-Backup the ROM to SD and to PC using XDATools;
-Tryed to flash bootloader with 'pnewbootloader bootloader_v5_15.nb0' but it returns an error 'Unable to find flash info offset, cannot disable bootloader writeprotect'
?? May be it's because i'm already on 5.15 bootloader?
-then i tried to Install the 'XDA-Developers Special Edition ROM 1.2' but error said that BIOS is for pw10A1, not mine.
?? where can i get Special ROM for pw10b1?
-then i'm tried to go to http://www.romkitchen.de/, but didn't use the ROM because not sure if works (phone is not mine). Which ROM to use, will WM2003 SE work on mine phone? Will it remove SIMlock?
- i'm reading about the XDAunlock program, on web said: Please note that XDAunlock will only work on device with a PPC2002 ROM that has the Wireless Modem feature. Do I have PPC2002? Do I have Wireless Modem?
Thank you in advance for help!
ps is it possible to get unlock-code some where? Upgrading ROM can be too risky (phone is not mine...)
First of all, since you have already backuped the ROM of the devie would you be able to send me the File?
Cocnerning XDA Special ROM. Normally faslhing that should work either for PW10A and for PW10B devices. There is a tool called adaptrom (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=adaptROM) that can be used for flashing.
But I´m not quite sure if this ROM will work for unlocking the device. The Radio Stack of the device is also quite old. But you can give it a try. Securest way for flashing is via SD-Card.
Done this hundred of times already.....

Also, I put XDA-developers Special Edition ROM - just copied NK.nbf file onto SD-card using XDA tools.
But XDAunlock didn't run on xda boot... but i found this file in \Windows\ directory and run manually - and it's WORKS!
THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP!!!
After that I upgraded Radio to 6.24.00 (no sure I this would remove sim-lock, didn't test; hope this version is stable/better that my previous 6.02)
Now i need to find a way to install dual-lauout (Russian) and to install some good Media Player (with avi, mp3, mov, wma and 3gp) - can you give me any advices?
Thanks again for all your activities and for your site!
ps forgot to ask - my devise became pw10A1, not pw10B1, is there are any risks with that?
