Autorun after Hardreset...

Hi!
Is it possible to create a file which automatacily runs after a hard reset? I need it for IIWPO.
What do you think? is there a way to create our own Ext. Rom?

Hi Pam,
therefor you will have to cook a new ext-rom (maybe out of your existing one - if use the search function of this forum, you'll find some helpful tips how to do that) and include IIWPO.
This shouldn't be a big thing. As starting points, take a look at this (ext-rom editing), this (dumping existing rom) and this (the new fabulous rom dump utility of Buzz_Lightyear!).

i tried to configure the config.txt and paste it in the Storage. But when the Device starts after a Hard Reset, the apps will not start...

Does anyone know how to automatically run a config script or application after a hard reset?.

if your talking about the autorun.exe the one that loads the cabs from the ext rom then it should automatically run after a hard reset, if it does not then you may need to re-flash your rom as your ext rom has been trashed

Thanks for that - what I am trying to do is...
I install an app (including .net v2.2) When the device is hard reset I want to be able to get PPC to automatically reinstall .net 2.2 and my own app.
Presumably I need to put some cabs somewhere that will be automatically run by autorun.exe?
But where (and how) do I place the cabs and what should they be called.

yes, the cab must be in the ext rom and you must edit the config.txt in the ext rom.. its easy and you will understand as soon as you open the config.txt

There is a section on wiki in the BA section (extended rom kitchen) that will give you more info.

One more (hopefully) final question on this point....
How do you unlock the extended rom on Win Mobile 05 (Ipaq 6515). I have found some stuff on it but nothing seems to work

I have a apache Verizon and a T-mobile h6315. I'm guessing that your's is simular to my h6315. On the h6315 the extended rom is called "iPAQ ROM". search for it in your registery. You'll find that there is a entry that shows it's mode of the file system. value is one change it to 0, or delete it from the registry and reboot.
In the extended rom there is a directory called Config there is a cab provisioning file and cab file that I think are probably installed on a had boot.
Sorry, I can't look up the specific regristry entry now, will try later if this isn't good enough.

Customize CommManagerRes.dll and PIN-Pad

Hi everybody,
at this time i am cooking my own slim and fast rom with all tools i need and a clean outfit.
Now i want to edit the commmanagerres.dll with an resource-editor to change the bachground of the commmanager. i have replaced the original-background file and saved it. i have replaced the dll on the device but it doesnt open the commmanager then or only shows the softkey-buttons from commmanager ans transparent background or makes some other displayerrors.
how can i fix this problem ? Can anbody helb me with this problem or fix it for me (dll and backgroundfiles in the attached zip and explain how to do) ?
i also want to change the Background of the PIN-Pad at boottime to enter the pincode - which dll is to change for this ?
if i have the rom finished i will puplish it for anybody.

SIM Contacts keep re-appearing

Hi there,
I am using the Niki Project Rom v1.0 WM6.1 and when I apply the regedit to hide the SIM contacts, every time I restart or soft reset my Touch Dual the SIM contacts re-appear.
The \key I am changing is:
HKCU->ContrlPanel->Phone->ShowSIM
I change the Value from 1 to 0 and this hides the contacts.
After a reset this value goes back to 1.
Can anyone tell me of a permanent fix for this?

In your \windows\startup\ folder delete "sddaemon"
It's the thing that's at fault for them always coming back IIRC.

What is the function of this file and in deleting it does it have any affect on anything else?

To be honest, I have no idea. It's not in a lot of other ROMs, and deleting it when I was using the Niki V1 ROM didn't seem to break anything
If you're worried about it, back up the file to some other folder so you can return it there if something you use breaks - but it certainly didn't seem to do anything when I used that ROM.

[Q] How to change text in Sense ? (issue with Contacts editing)

Hi there!
I have, what I suppose to be, a translation issue with contacts editing on an official french ROM.
It seems I got it when going back to a french ROM after a WWE ROM flash, but i'm not sure, as hard resets and task 29 don't fix the problem.
So, when i want to add an "Home/Residence" phone number to a new or existing contact, i read "Reception" instead of "Home". ("Accueil" instead of "Domicile", in french)
And if I choose it, and save the new number, then it's well written as "Home (Domicile)" on contact's card.
But is there a way to modify the name of this "type" of phone number, maybe in registry or a kind of config file ?
If anyone have an idea, thanks!
