There is a leaked unboxed image of the Nothing phone 1 package where the clear case is visible! And also this black one is not a case it is for protection when the phone is getting ready for the package I saw that video too!

Case is not included in the box, they sell it for 25$. I dont find any case on AliExpress or other web yet.

Why do they do that, I've ordered the black 256GB, and it has yet to deliver today! Let me check if the case comes along with the package...

Nope, case is not inlcuded. Got mine yesterday.
Here, in India, the case is selling at Rs. 1499 (~$19) but is out of stock.

I now have both the ridiculously expensive original Nothing phone 1 case from Nothing, as well as the OREY one.
The OREY case is much better in general, it's got:
better feeling plastic (the NP1 case is "sticky")
better feeling side buttons (the NP1 case's are very sharp, even for plastic)
a slightly raised back-lip (the NP1 case isn't raised in the back)
thicker bumper corners
For an 8$ case, this trumps the NP1 original in all aspects IMHO.

Feel free to post and I'll add. This is just to tell the difference. I'll add more brands if people add reviews and such.
Opinions:
-Bodyguardz is tougher and protects better because it's thicker
Customer Experiences:
-Bodyguardz was fast and without problem
-invisibleSHIELD had horrible CS and I returned my product
I only have bodygaurdz, at first I didn't like it, but after a week or so the small imperfections cleared up, it's kinda growing on me. I also have some ghost armor that I am going to install this weekend.
Is it possible for you to take close up pictures and show the parts that aren't covered? Also, have you dropped it yet? Did it protect your device?
There's also clear-coat, which is $25 with lifetime warranty.
I've had invisibleshields for my tablet pc, but hated it. Their warranty is a little tricky, since they won't honor mistakes, whereas clearcoat will.
I could be wrong, but i've read somewhere that invis does not have a different version for the fuze, but just sell the ones for the gsm touch pro.
Whether I'm right or wrong, the fact is that clearcoat accounts for the physical differences:
1) We do account for the PTT button. We use a series of strips to cover the corners and sides - so we altered one of these strips to account for the PTT Button.
2) The back cover is one piece, and also has flaps extending from it to cover the sides and top as well. We have had no problem with the multi-faceted back - the 1-piece design still covers all the angled edges perfectly, with no creasing or bubbling.

Do all of these cover the hardware buttons below the screen, including the entire scroll wheel? Mine already has light scratches in the center of that bowl shaped button and I want to prevent further damage.
I lik the feel of invisi, havent tried any others. But i want something thats easy to put on as well, invisi for the fuze is hard, same for the tilt, but on my wing it was easy as pie.
Thats because the wing had different material, its not really a slick plastic which probably made it alot easier. Clear coat is definitely new to me, but guardz gives you 2 so thats hot for me.
Pictures of IS on Fuze
Hi all,
I posted pictures of my Fuze with IS (Full Body).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=453332
**UPDATED!**
Added pics of invisibleSHIELD and Bodyguardz
My Personal Opinion:
invisibleSHIELD looks much thinner and doesn't look like it fits the fuze correctly
Bodyguardz looks MUCH tougher and it seems to cover more area so that's a go for me and I just ordered it right now! Just check the pictures and see.
A bit disappointed that it doesn't cover the corners, but then again, that was expected.
Nice posts
I was looking for a post like this two weeks ago, thanks for making it Kraize. Will add my 2 cents to the discussion.
I ordered Fuze invisibleSHIELD last week, will install next week.
I noticed that paperdimension has the PTT button self-cut and has the camera hole. Is that Touch Pro version or Fuze version? I also noticed that invisibleSHIELD provides a center button cover. Nice! I can't tell from the pictures if Bodyguardz does too.
I heard invisibleSHIELD/Bodyguardz exhibit an orange peel effect on the screen. This may or may not be only on the iPhone's glass screen. We have plastic, so it might not be that bad. It doesn't look horrible in paperdimension's pictures. Bodyguardz doesn't have a clear picture of the screen itself, so I can't tell. If it's really bad, that's a deal breaker for me since I'm really ocd about my gadgets
Example of orange peel effect: http://justanotheriphoneblog.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/orange001.jpg
I'm actually really happy with the Fuze's included screen protector. Fits extremely well and is extremely smooth and shiny (I love the smooth look very much). The smooth effect aids in smooth gliding for fingernail/stylus navigation. It is cut so well that, after putting it on, I can't even tell that there is a protector. Sadly, there are already three scratches on the protector so I will need to replace it when it gets really bad. Is there a place to order the OEM screen protectors?
I used to have a Pelican screen protector on my PSP. I used that for a year until I replaced it with a Hori screen protector from Japan. Both cost $5. OMG the difference between Pelican and Hori was night and day. The Pelican screen protector distorted colors and images. The Hori screen protector resulted in vibrant colors, crisp and clear pixels. It was like a brand new PSP screen. Sadly, as far as I know, Hori doesn't make a Touch Pro/Fuze screen protector.
From my PSP research, Martin Fields also makes expensive but good/clear protectors. It turns out they also have a Touch Pro protector. (http://www.martinfields.com/US/productdec.asp?pid=4100&modeln=&model=) Anybody have experience with this one?
EDIT: Found a thread in X1 comparing Martin Fields with InvisibleSHIELD (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446228). I think I will leave on the OEM screen protector, add the InvisibleShield to the back/sides when it arrives, and replace the OEM screen protector with a Martin Fields when the OEM protector collects too many scratches... Pricey, but I like my screens shiny and clear =)
I think i might buy the guardz, i hope its easier to put on than the invisi. Wanna give a way your code Kraize b4 i order lol? But as far as the thickness goes it gives the phone a wonderful feel after you put it on.

read the thread, it was mentioned that IS includes a cover for the round button.
Thank you. What about the other 2 brands?
nice review, i ordered my bodyguardz yesterday and did next day shipping so should be here by 2morrow i will provide my customer exp with the full body guard
I also ordered them yesterday. I don't remember, but is the free shipping (USPS First class) next day shipping?
IS Fuze Version
In installed Fuze IS last night. Fit is slightly better than paperdimension's Touch Pro IS. Cut much closer for the Fuze. A noticeable difference is that paperdimension's version has the front layer folding over to cover the sides. The Fuze IS has separate pieces for the front and the sides.
Imo, provides better corner coverage in certain areas than Bodyguardz from what I see in this thread. Will post pictures in a week after it cures (extremely busy atm). You can be the judge then.
BodyGaurdz
I installed the BodyGaurdz last night on my TP. It did not come with a center button protector.
14 pieces to put on. It wasn't bad at all. I'm glad they sent 2 sets. Because I may need to redo the back. I have a couple of big bubbles that may not go away. The hardest one was the one for the buttons on the front. The bevel for the center button traps air bubbles. Very hard to push out.
The back has two pieces. One for the back plate and another for the camera strip.
I went through a whole bottle of solution (which is just water and baby shampoo).
IMO, Bodyguardz IS the way to fly, there customer service is above superior. If you take your time and install it the way the directions indicate, it fits perfectly. I did much of research regarding these film style protectors, and the bodyguardz seems to be the best value.
1. 2 sets for 24.99!!!!!!
2. Lifetime replacements
3. Discount for repeat customers.
4. Superior customer service (they actually care)
Gone are the days of "the customer is always correct". However Bodyguardz seems to be the exception to this. 24.99 is not much money, they could charge ALOT more and still be worth the price. This company really knows how to deliver and take care of a customer to maintain loyalty on both ends. I believe this is what is and will set Bodyguardz apart from the competition.
P.s. Ill copy what a previous poster already said.....
As far as ZAGG and the invisible shield goes.... Must be a damn good product because i cant even find the damn thing in my mail box, the bullsh*t tracking number is invisible also, fedex can't even seem to locate it. And that is the truth. Ordered from ZAGG and 3 months later, still no product and no refund.
FU*K YOU ZAGG
!!!!!!!!YEA BODYGUARDZ!!!!!!
well i just installed mines, i gotta say it took longer than i expected, there is alot of peices and the baby shampoo and water did help but some how got sticky ressude on the non sticky part of the protect how do i remove?
by the way this protect covers almost every part of ur phone expect the center button which i find is ackward since the center button is used more often than any other button but i guess since its a bit pushed into the phone alittle it will make it difficult to remove
also they said while removing the protector it could actually damage ur phone i guess cuz it sticks on there pretty tight so be very careful removing it, good thing i am paying for my insurance

Price: leather and plastic back

I read today, and first I have seen, "The LG G4 price will be 649 USD for the model with the plastic back panel and 699 USD for the model with a leather back, which also comes with a spare plastic battery cover" and "The leather versions also come with a gold-colored plastic back. "
Price is not as high as I expected. I assume for the 32gb. Just early info for USD. And no idea how different carriers will modify this.
Should be interesting to see how much the U.S. carriers will charge with contracts. Either way, the G4 has top notch specs at a lower than the competition price - I'm excited!
Don't most people use a protective case? Seems the leather is superfluous in that regard. Too much money to break IMO to go naked.

Nope... no case for me. I only use a case when I travel internationally. Otherwise.... never. ANd, the 1 case I have and do use is for he kickstand feature more than anything.
I won't be running a case on my G4. I do think the leather back might also offer some protection to a certain degree a glass or plastic back would not have.

That's more expensive than I thought. The S6 starts at $599, and the LG G2 and LG G3 on release date were also $599. The G4 is such an incremental upgrade I don't see how they can charge that much.

I go naked with my phones, otherwise there is no point in getting a thin and good feeling/looking phone if you are going to put a bulky case on it. I don't use cases on my laptops either. As long as you have the mindset that you have an ultra portable $600 computer in your pocket, you are more careful with it.
Since I will put the protection on mine as soon as I got it, plastic cover is OK.
Is there any cases for the leather cover yet?
The S6 costs $900+ here in Australia. I really hope that the G4 doesn't cost more than $700 otherwise I won't have money for it.
I'm curious about the pricing too, like if the leather will have a similar price difference like the S6 has with the S6 Edge. I don't mind the leather, but that stitching irks the hell outta me. If I end up getting this phone, I probably will end up getting the plastic back, since I always put cases on my phones anyway.
Unless it WOWS me when I see the G4 in person, it depends on what leather options AT&T will have. I doubt any of the US carriers are gonna have the colored leather backs, unless LG plans on selling the back plates separately.
I would like prices on the individual battery covers myself. I could see myself buying several different battery covers.
Good price but how would be cost in Asia....?:good:
I've never used a case and I'm on my 4th smartphone and I've never broke one or even had a scratch on the screen... I always end up after a year+ with some minor dings on the edges but nothing that really bothers me.

I wish LG had put an aluminum frame around this handset.
The leather back is gorgeous, but if you look carefully, the frame is plastic and cheap looking.
I don't think it would cost a lot more to just frame and detail the phone in some lovely, machined metal and it would make the world of difference.
As it is, I'm not sure that in a few months, scuffed leather is going to look very nice with scuffed plastic.
My two cents.

Speaking of scuffed leather, I saw Michael Fisher from Pocketnow's review of the G4 on YouTube and while he was been testing it, he mentioned that the corners already look scuffed. And that was only from taking the phone in/out from his pants pocket.

Isn't leather supposed to scuff? It makes it look more "cultured" or something, and is called a "patina".

This is good to know. I think that while it's advisable to get protector for a $700 device, the leather backing should provide all the support I need. I just need something to prevent the phone from sliding around on surfaces very much, and I think that with the leather, I will have no issues with that.
I'm glad that the phone is less than $1,000. My wife paid way too much for her iPhone, and while that is fine, money is not really an issue, I'm glad that this one is going to be reasonably price.
Thank you very much for sharing this information.
I'm going to pass on leather out of the box since LG likes to show off things you can't purchase (the red leather, for example). I'll just rock the white ceramic in a case until months later when you can finally find replacement backs online, hopefully with wireless charging.
I'm surprised the quick circle cases don't come in any leather variety.

I was thinking the same as well or even the plastic back. The leather backing is cool and all but serve more to people that have their phones without cases. I just couldn't live with myself if my phone fell and it get all dinged up or worst case scenario the screen crack / break.
My idea is to buy something to protect it from this but keep it as thin as possible. I've seen some people with cases so thick the look of the phone becomes disgusting.

What a ripoff but hey there's always someone out there that doesn't care and buy anyways.
Honestly I think it's pretty lame, in a few months the G4 will be common and all that money went to waste for absolutely nothing. Oh yeah they have the 'pleasure' of showing off the phone a few weeks before official launch. Hahaha.

Cases for the Phab 2 pro

There are already cases listed on Amazon but beware as none are legit for this phone. Make sure to match up the cameras and fingerprint scanners to the back of the case.
First legit case
https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Invisible-Xtreme-Lightweight-Absorbing/dp/B01JOOECG0/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1477713400&sr=8-6&keywords=phab2+pro
First legit case. Just a simple TPU one. Clear.
Hopefully there will be some portfolio style cases that be used as kickstands. I want to be able to put it on a desk or table to watch video or to use Skype.
That case might actually be the one that is going to be available on the Lenovo website (they say a clear case is coming). I am a bit OCD about my phones and want to have screen protectors and cases in hand when I open the phone box. I would have ordered the phone from Lowes.com yesterday but I really want those items - made specifically for this phone - in hand before opening the phone box. I am assuming that case on Amazon ships from China? I am hoping that in 2 weeks there will be more different options available (now that the phone is in hand for many customers)...

I heard that the screen protector type might be an issue because of the way the Pro's display is angled... That maybe the wet install "skin" type might be better? I like this type better - I only used the wet install on my earliest phone - have used this type ever since...
Do the holes on the case you got match up with all the ports, etc. on the phone?
I am actually thinking of waiting until the Black Friday time frame to get mine because I would prefer the Champagne Gold color and I figure by then there will be plenty of case and screen protector choices... But, if not, did your items ship from the USA? Thanks for your time!

Just waiting for someone to see if either of those wallet cases work. No hard otter type cases yet and no cases with a kickstand.

i bought these, and the manufacturer screwed up the dimensions. the width is only the width to the edge of the screen (NOT the bezel), and the height is the OVERALL height (PAST the bezel, will not sit flat because of the raised lip around phone). not even close to fitting properly.
Thanks for the updates using your personal experiences!!!

I ordered the same one but my phone hasn't come in yet. Were you able to get a refund?
I ordered the only TPU case that was available on Amazon from Tektide. The case fits perfectly.

Here's a picture of the tempered glass on the phone. Take a look at the edges as they don't full stick properly.

Yeah... I see! Thanks for the pictures! I would worry about dust and dirt getting under those edges and sticking - it would look pretty gross... So I guess a thin, bendable or a wet install skin will be the way to go...

I've had a soft case ordered for a week & it still hasn't left China. My phone, ordered at the same time, arrived yesterday. I'm afraid to even pick it up without a case and, when the case gets here, I still won't take the phone out of the house until I get a rugged clam case/holster or Otterbox case for it. With the phone's Lowes Building Supply tie-in, someone should have anticipated the need for a rugged case. I've been a builder and contractor for decades, since "mobile" phones had to be permanently installed under the dashboard, and I know no one who would risk carrying something so delicate on a construction site without the heaviest protective case.
What about it, Lowes? Got a protective, rugged holster in the pipeline for this thing?
Even though I will always be carrying it around in a handbag I want a protective case, too... My fear is that there won't be enough interest in the phone for the "good" case manufacturers to even bother with it!!!

Last night I had my phone face down on a table, and accidentally bumped it off. I heard a thud and looked down to see my phone face down on the concrete floor. Either the Tektide case saved it or I may have just been incredibly lucky in how it landed, but fortunately it was undamaged. Lesson learned though: phone is slick when face down.
My el-cheapo ($0.99) soft case came in from China & it's great! It's clear (vinyl?), covers back & sides, and it's slightly sticky--perfect for anyone worried about dropping their slippery new phone. I'm waiting for a rugged clam case / holster before I take it out of the house but for those of you who don't mind carrying a $500 piece of glass in your pocket, this case will fit all your needs, providing you aren't in a hurry. I ordered mine on a Thursday & it arrived on Friday--a week later. Here's the link to buy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/182204186118
Forgot to mention, do NOT open the soft envelope that this skin case arrives in with a razor knife ! ! ! ! ! This large phone's large soft case fills the vinyl bubble envelope. When I sliced the envelope open I scratched (sliced) the soft cover inside. Damn. Still works fine but...

You sound like ME! Not even wanting to take the phone out of the house without the proper protection! Lololol! I bought several of those cases... I hope that teenie package will get here before the phone does... Although I still haven't ordered the phone yet...I am still tempted by the Zenfone Ultra... And would rather buy this one from Lowe's. And don't want to order waiting for 3 week shipping... I will definitely get it while I still have a valid coupon code for 30% off a Drops & Spills warranty at Square Trade!!!

Black case now available on Amazon + Qi receivers
This case has the wrong photos, but comments say it fits the Phab 2 Pro perfectly and it's black - better for using with a universal Qi receiver than the clear case.

I have it on order and will report back, though my phone doesn't arrive for 2 weeks (shipping from Lenovo delayed twice now!)

These are both for "Type A" micro USB like the Phab 2 Pro (the narrow part of the micro USB is facing the screen).

Thin case for s9+

Hi all,
I note a lot of folk like the chunkier cases like otterbox, I'm certainly not one of them as I hate the bulk, weight and hiding the phone aesthetics.
I am happy with the trade-off in protection, so prefer to go down the much more minimalistic ultra thin cases, often clear ones that show off the phone. I appreciate they only offer scratch protection, but I'm generally very careful with my phone's (haven't dropped one yet).
So with that in mind, can anyone recommend anything they've seen on Amazon, like a clear ultra thin case? Most of the kind you see there pickup fingerprints, stains and grease so easily. I know of the mnml and peel cases, but with postage they're about £25 to the UK, which is estortionate considering what you're getting.
If anyone is like me looking for similar, let's share some ideas. Something super thin, grippy, and preferably clear or matte would be epic.
Thanks!
I too prefer thinner and lighter cases. A go-to case I have purchased for all of my phones in the past years is the Nillkin Frosted Shield. You can find it on Amazon or Ebay. It is a hard case, but has excellent grip texture on the back and an all-around matte feel. It snaps in nice and always appears to be well built. I often buy at least 10 cases for each phone I have as I have trouble finding the right one, but this case always comes through. I have ordered one for my 9+ already but has not shown up yet. The only thing is I don't think they have a clear one that you would like, but I am just trying to offer my opinion to help you out.

Thanks mate, sounds like a goodun! I went onto Amazon looks like not in stock (UK) so won't be shipping til late march, but I'll definitely keep my eye on it. They look really nice, and aside from the clear thing, it's the type of case I'm looking for.

Ahhh good old Spigen. Unfortunately not on amazon yet, at least in UK, and on their website not available just yet.
If thinner is what you're looking for... Ringke Slim Series (No bulk at all - little protection) or Ringke Fusion Series - Hybrid (A little more protection) I used them both on my S7 edge.
My $9+, direct from Samsung Australia, came with this one in the box, packed with the manuals

I, too, like the thin fit cases with the soft matte feel.
These two stood out to me on Amazon:

You can also find something similar on eBay by searching s9+ thin case, but most of them takes a long time to ship from China.
The Spigen Air Skin is available for S9+ on eBay:

Just got mine from PITAKA, stylish and sleek, I'm satisfied with it so far. it balances the protection and aesthetics in my opinion. I've also found this guy's review https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...dium=lily&utm_campaign=Magcase&utm_content=S9
I really like the Ringke Onyx. Not clear, though.
Picked up a Tech 21 Evo Max case for my S9+ and its still as strong as my griffon survivor but about half the bulk.

I am using ringke fusion like it a lot it is not thin or thick I would say and the bumper is not the slimmest but quite protective, like the smoke black color with my blue s9+ but there is a clear version
https://www.ringkestore.com/collect...y-s9-plus-ringke-fusion?variant=6366003167259

You should try it.
I am using the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle. I have the frost/black and frost/green, both of which look nice depending on the color of your device. I originally bought the frost/black to go on my Lilac S9 Plus but my mother ended up stealing my Lilac S9 Plus so I went and picked up the Titan Grey and ordered the frost/green for it because it looked too plain with the frost/black on the Titan Grey S9 Plus. .

I, too, have the Nillkin FS case and can confirm that the look, fit and feel are all awesome. Great case, great price. It offers more than scratch protection. I'm generally VERY careful with my phones but, last night, while on the treadmill, I dropped my S9+. It slammed into the steel post of my treadmill, hit the track, then I kicked it across the basement. It slammed into a wall and then bounced back, tumbling under the treadmill. My heart sunk. Much to my surprise, the phone was entirely unscathed, and I don't even use a screen protector. The case is still blemish-free. Unbelievable.

I've got this one too. Looks awesome in white. I switch to a slightly beefier case (Nillkin Frosted Shield) when I'm going out or using my phone in any type of environment or activity where the potential of dropping the phone could be foreseeable. The Elago is great, but it offers absolutely no protection to the display whatsoever.
Diztronic hands down.
I like the feel of the Anccer but it's very fragile. Just taking it off a few times resulted in cracks around the cutout for the headphone jack!
I buy from aliexpress. They are slim and don't lift the tempered glass cover which most of the others covers do. The brand is called msvii postage is good and comes within a week to uk.

I have this memumi 0.3mm case for my S9+.
The render's only for the S9, though. It's pretty good. I've had many kinds of these thin cases in the past (including for my S8+) and this one seems to be a bit stiffer than those, mainly because the sides are a bit reinforced, which is a good thing. You can't really see it on the render but it's a bit squared-off on the sides like it has a very slight built-in bumper.
I also like that it has a divider between the fingerprint scanner and the camera lenses. The others have just one big opening all the way through.
I've also got this Ringke case but I don't like that it's open in the area around the volume buttons. It's a very good hard case, though.
I just bought a Speck Presidio Grip. It looks nice but when I try to play game it messes up the game because part of case touches screen. I going naked.

Beware EBay and Swappa Resellers with S7 Active

All,
I've noticed a startling trend by the resellers of cell phones for the S7 Active.
The S7 Active has a two-layer screen - the top layer is supposed to be replaceable if it crackes, thereby saving you a expensive repair.
Unfortunately, these scrupulous resellers are removing this second layer, exposing the screen itself, which is much more fragile.
You can tell this in listings by looking to see if the earpiece speaker and buttons look "raised" in the pictures provided. They should be nearly flush if the second layer piece is in place.
For example, Swappa has a seller in NY right now that is selling "mint" S7 Actives, and all of his phones have the second layer of the screen removed. Samsung no longer sells this second layer, so you would have to put down a tempered layer to help protect the screen, and even then there are no guarantees it will provide the proper protection.
Buyer beware, just a FYI.
Chris
I just bought one of these and I can confirm that the outer screen is removed. I'm returning it now and will update with what the seller has to say. I wish I had your sharp eye and noticed this in the pictures, looking back it is noticeable.
I bought it 8 days ago. Didn't even notice it. I'm. Just going to buy a tempered glass above it. Too lazy to deal with it now, I'm overall satisfied with the phone.
That's good to be aware of, but not really a deal breaker, or wouldn't be for me. I leveraged the tendency of the factory screen protector to scratch to purchase a cheap phone off e-bay. I'd find the one with the worst looking screen with okay looking everything else then when I got the phone, removed the plastic layer and replaced it with glass. That was a year ago and I've been happy ever since.
My point is that those thick plastic protectors would look like crap not long after purchase so you are better without them. The glass is still gorilla, the edges of the screen are raised into a lip to protect it and you can add a sacrificial glass protector yourself. If the price is cheap, I'd buy one.
I think it all comes down to what your expectations are of "like new" or "mint". Personally, I would want the factory second layer that has the proper material for protection. I returned a phone on eBay as it was listed as brand new - literally "new in box". Lots of resellers out there taking advantage.
missing layer
Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't have known any better if I hadn't come across this post. I bought one off ebay from the seller emb-phones which shipped out of Brooklyn, New York. I can also confirm the phone is missing the second layer mentioned in this first post of this forum. I would like you share pics but i guess i haven't hit the 10 post requirement yet :/. I'll come back and figure out a way to post pics some other time.
Qualitycells on Swappa is selling their Mint condition S7 Actives without the factory protector. I've contacted them about my device, not really hopeful that they will do anything though.

I returned the phone I received without the outer screen. My concern is it may affect the water-proofing and it is against Swappa rules to sell a modified phone. They should at least admit it and let the buyer make an informed decision. I asked "QualityCells" if they could provide an unmodified phone and they could/would not. They did give me a full refund and paid return shipping. Unfortunately Swappa did not seem interested that one of their sellers is doing this. It wasted a lot of my time.
Here's an example.

Discussion with ebay seller about this issue...
Thanks for bringing this to light; I recently bought an S7 Active from an eBay seller much like emb-phones (in this case syncelectronic), and found that the screen layer had indeed been removed. At least the glass underneath was in perfect condition! I brought this to their attention and they claimed to not realize this as they buy them at auction in quantity; they asked what they can do and I said I wanted them to refund me $11.99 so I can get a tempered glass protector to install in place of the polycarbonate that was removed, and that they change their ad to reflect that this protective layer has been removed.
Other than that, the phone was indeed in the condition described, and I would have put a screen protector on anyway, but I DO wish the ad reflected that actual situation, so we will see what they come back with.
I got one also from eBay, i paid $110 for it with NEW screen thats missing the second layer but hey, it works fine, i've added the tempered glass on top and a discrete cover and its a great phone.. Sure u have to be careful about dropping it but isnt that with 99% of phones these days? I tried finding a OEM replacement screen for this phone but no luck and the screen is the phone so if you get a pink line or 'store display model' shadow burn in then the phone is garbage. I really liked my S5 Active, its smaller and screen size is the same as S7 but unfortunately, it stops on 6.0.
To sum this up, its a hit or miss with these, if the seller is honest and the LCD is clean, then you get a great phone for a tenth of its original price. My S7 Active works well so far, i work outside and sweat a lot here in Florida and the phone is exposed to sand and lots of moist sweat and no issues for the past 4 months, even with the 1/2 screen on it.
can we see pictures of what you mean?
no ****... look at what I found...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4LUgs5jYkI
I believe when I bought mine, it was in mine shame... but had a layer missing. No worries- tampered glass protector solves the problem.
Interesting... Just bought an S7 Active on eBay for $60, let's see if it has the layer...
LCD + Digitizer (Gorilla Glass 4) + Protective Polycarbonate Layer!
Buy a phone with a scratched poly layer, remove it, add a 9H screen protector.
This isn't rocket science.
Geeesh ... Panic and mayhem over a stupid poly layer ..... S8 Active has the same treatment, and Gorilla Glass 5.
https://www.cio.com/article/3079219/hardware/samsungs-new-water-resistant-galaxy-s7-active-survives-severe-crash-tests.html
https://www.slashgear.com/galaxy-s8-active-has-a-plastic-screen-protector-on-top-of-gorilla-glass-25516999/
You don't get it. It isn't "panic" about missing a screen protector, it's misleading the buyer. That is why I posted this months ago.
If a screen layer was originally removed, it was either cracked or scratched beyond belief. To me, that means the phone had a rough life.
If you spend $50 on a S7 active and the layer is missing, I wouldn't care. But if a seller advertises "NEW" (unused) old stock, and that layer is missing, that is a problem. THAT is why I posted this.
Have a great day, UnableToResetOldProfile.

I recently bought a refurbished device that was advertised as having a perfect 10/10 screen, but is clearly missing the outer layer, and the screen is showing random pink line as well that comes and go. Without your post, I would have I never understood how the LCD could have been damaged while the screen doesn't shows any scratches at all. Contacting them now for a replacement now!
