Hey guys... So ama keep it short and brief... After many hours of looking and trying different gcam for the note 9 exynos...couldn't get any to work except 1... And even that one had exposure and oversharpening issue but I've managed to correct it all to a much better photo experience... Night and dark mode works.... However front can doesn't work for me but no biggie...

Yes and restore it from the camera app... Double tap the empty space near the shutter button, a directory should pop up, if you placed the xml in the right folder, it should show, then restore it, that's all

Managed to get it working perfectly but the Color tone is completely washed off when taking any pictures of people.

You need to go on telegram. There is a link to configs for camera and a link to webpage with instructions on how to install

Hi folks, i am usin' O2 XDA Exec(Universal WM5), my network doesn't support Video Calls, so the front camera ain't of any damn use at all.
Can anyone expert here tell me, if there is any application(i really doubt), which can make it work as a normal front camera.

Try AtekSoft's apps. You can use front facing camera as a web cam in Web Camera Plus. Do not know about Cool Camera program, but I think you should be able to use the front facing camera the same way as the main camera with it.

yeah, when i wuz searchin' for this, i found some results referrin' to Coolcam, in the archive of xda-developers itself. I downloaded it, but it seemed more like Add-on features for the main camera.
But i am gonna install it now, thanks for your prompt reply

Let me know if it works, I have never tried CoolCamera before, and if it works I will finally have use for the front facing camera on my Hermes.

And you know what, while goin' thru forums, i just found out that the option to switch over to front camera feature is there in Universal, built-in already. When you click on Camera, there is a toggle button, for front camera(though the features of one built-in s**ks in comparison to cool camera).
I never paid heed to it, i thought that toggle button is to switch over to low-resolution mode or somethin' like that. Oh man, i feel like a total fool now hahaha

Sometimes we can not see things we have just under our noses, anyway I am glad you have it sorted out There is no such a switch on Hermes (Hermes has Macro switch instead) so I think I will give CoolCamera a go.

yeah pal, you should try it. The website says:
Restrictions of unregistered version:
Maximum video recording time and Interval Photo time is 5 seconds.
so for video, you gotta use the default application, but you can use this application for capturin' images, interval photo time of 5 seconds, would hardly matter for you, i think.

Front camera on Hermes using Coolcamera is sideways.. a little bug that never got fixed. Changing any settings in CoolCamera won't do anything either.

You can get QuickPic by Alensw from the market this works really well as a non stock gallery replacment.

Hi, i think what he meant by 'Gallery Preview' is the Photo Gallery widget. I can use it without any issue in my homescreen. But the one you are saying having an issue is the Gallery app itself which have similar issue like Camera and etc. Try installing other 3rd party gallery apps or just use QuickPic like our friend suggested.
Anyway, stock Gallery should work with the last version ( 2.4 ).

Yeah, right. But not fully functioning. It only display black thumbnail for all albums/images. You need to touch and hold any album then only can preview it.

as much as it would be great to have all "stock" apps working I think QuickPic is better than the stock gallery anyway.

Yeah, yeap, i agree with u. QuickPic is way better than stock app. Because i can use it to set wallpaper. Using stock Pick activity to set wallpaper always not responding for me.

ya i know, its only enabled for google devices with google camera, i tried to enable it but its above my knowledge, i really miss it but i still perfer it over snap camera...i like the interface better.
To clarify, does this mod address the bug that prevents the video camera from recording longer than 40 seconds?
Will the changes in these packages persist over future updates?

No idea....i never really used snap....more than likely enabling camera 2 api caused it...delete the line in the build prop and check
Edit....yup deleting the last line in build prop (persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1) will revert those settings....but google cam will stop work

There's a Moto Camera apk somewhere on the low light thread, it's kinda good. Everything I tested works (20MP, video, highspeed, manual mode)

The stock ZTE camera works pretty well on LOS based Roms. There's a flashable zip in the Apps and Themes section.

I don't think slow motion, or saving to SD card work. But I could be wrong. I've actually never tried either of them. But I think everything else works fine. I know picture quality is pretty good.

Also I don't know if it works on RR but there's a ZIP on post ~15 that supposedly removes some of the excessive processing and installs the HTC Camera. I hate that camera honestly but the pictures that even the stock camera is snapping are real good. Some guy there says "it would be awesome if there was something like this for us" and puts a link. I went full Rambo (Or full retard, both are true) and flashed that, and it worked. Someone said that it force closed on LOS though, so do a backup

I have had no luck. A few packages have installed for me and opened, but the pictures it takes will only display as a gray screen. Most, like you, just crash.

The latest version from the zexynos Telegram group works well, way more natural looking results compared to stock cam. Install it, then create a Configs folder in the Gcam folder and put the xml file in there. Then open Gcam and double tap in black area below shutter button and then select the XML you put in the configs folder, tap restore. Then close Gcam, go to settings, apps, camera, force stop, clear cache, reopen GCam and you're good to go.

Mine is rooted, but I finally found one that kind of works. No "night sight" that I can find, but:

Scroll down to Note 9 Exynos. Have to be able to install APK files.
The one at Zexynos Telegram group works well, designed specifically for S9 N9 S10 N10 Exynos.

Yes if you use front camera then it's a problem, but I don't, never used my front cameras.

The version isn't perfect but for most of what I need, it works well and is stable enough as a main camera app. See if it works for you.
