[APP] Check Treble support and type - Treble-Enabled Device Guides, News, & Discussion

I wrote an app, better than the one suggested in most tutorials. It's called Treble Info and available in Labs and the Play Store. There's no analytics, ads or gsf and it's foss. In particular, it can tell you the architecture and the SaR status (not the same as a/b support). This is better than all the other apps.

sounds great, i test it directly, thanx and cheers.
---easy and good information.

Eric Chu:
"I’m pleased to let you know about several updates to Android Market. First, we will soon introduce new features in Android Market for Android 1.6 that will improve the overall experience for users. As part of this change, developers will be able to provide screenshots, promotional icons and descriptions that will better show off applications and games.
We have also added four new sub-categories for applications: sports, health, themes, and comics. Developers can now choose these sub-categories for both new and existing applications via the publisher website. Finally, we have added seller support for developers in Italy. Italian developers can go to the publisher website to upload applications and target any of the countries where paid applications are currently available to users.
To take advantage of the upcoming Android Market refresh, we encourage you to visit the Android Market publisher website and upload additional marketing assets. Check out the video below for some of the highlights".

App Store Optimization (or ASO)

I have recently published my App in the App Store and was wondering if you guys knew any good books or websites where i could get some information regarding App Store optimization
Coming from doing a lot of SEO i can understand how important ASO can become in the future as with the internet it was pretty similar, previously no one really gave a crap and later on it became essential to be able to rank in Google.
Do you guys do any App store Optimization?
Here are some articles i personally found useful:
Introduction to: amongtech.com/what-is-app-store-optimization/
More in-depth: searchenginejournal.com/definitive-guide-app-store-optimization-aso/78719/
A little more in-depth introduction: blog.kissmetrics.com/app-store-optimization/
Thanks! :good:
A small ASO guide
Both Apple’s App Store and the Google Play have a myriad number of apps and it’s very easy to get lost in the crowd. Good visibility on the App Store is thus essential and can be ensured by following certain key pointers while launching your app:
1. Keep the title short, self explanatory and keyword centric. The important thing is to limit it in one line. For this you have to be extra cautious on Google Play as the users’ Android phone screens may vary in sizes.
2. While writing the description for your app, just keep two things in mind. First, that users don’t like to read paragraphs if they don’t find the initial lines interesting. And second, use as many keywords as possible so that your app may spring up on searches more often.
3. Google play allows you to add demo videos of your app. Do make one, as many of your prospective users may not find the screenshots too descriptive. Keep the video short and emphasize on the user friendliness of your app.
4. Icon images should be striking to make you app stand out in the list and screenshots should signify the simplicity of your app.

Really good advice. @Appiterate Strongly recommend
App Store Optimization Basics

ASO is stand for app store optimization which is a process of optimizing an app in any app store to maximize the visiblity. It just like a SEO where people search for their query on search engines and gets SERP (Search engine result pages) listing for their query.
Some more important point of ASO
Primary factor
Keywords
Logo
App description
App category
App screen shots
Secondary factors
Number of downloads
Rating and reviews

First post and cheap straight ad, please don't do that!!!.
I really do not mind your post about your services, but at first, please give some real advice, talk about your experience, your clients and achievements before redirecting users, I think you know about that kind of things better than me.... I personally find your website (not sure you're owner or just an employee) really professional and informative and you probably know your job, but please don't do that kind of cheap ads in you first post at least my Indian friend.
in-depth advice
Hi everyone. I've also heard these things could work pretty well:
- Localizations on google play - what is the best way to do this?
- Have a strong youtube channel link to your app page?
- Google +1's - what is the best to generate this? does it influence rankings? Is there a place to buy "good" +1s
- Links to app page - does this work? good place to buy links?
Any advice here? Please PM me then.
Thanks!

Thanks for your tips.
For #2, what is the optimal length of description?
I made the description as simply as possible as people don't read text. But it is too short and seems it doesn't work well with SEO.

Rating and reviews is the first for me. Android use this for rate an app and put this on the top.

I think it'd be a good idea to use the same techniques as in SEO. Link building is essential. Post comments on blogs that are related to your app, or app development in general. That way you'll get more downloads
ASO
the important part is about Keywords - high traffic & low competetion and use your keywords in App Name.
Great Icon
Video
use call in the description
Nice Screenshots.
Google released an eBook exactly for that: "The Secrets to App Success on Google Play"
You can download it for free from Play Books, it's an overview but contains a lot of useful information.

[WEB-LIST] AndroidLibs

Hello everybody,
I would like to introduce you AndroidLibs.
AndroidLibs is a library list for android developers. There are plenty of other sites like this (Android-Arsenal),
but they all have a worse design and aren't very useful.
Android-Libs.com
Planned features:
Custom URLs to documentation, extern sites
Categories
Additional metadata, e.G.: GitHub update/commit dates, required API level, library version, list / view
User ratings and comments
Feel free to submit / suggest a library for AndroidLibs! I also would appreciate any feedback or feature requests.
Greets,
Alexander

Cool. But maybe too automatical. I can tell all data is fetched from Github. Maybe after your website have a lot of uses, you can try the repos and post your evaluation for your users. I have seem some analogous iOS libs website doing that.

Good point. It's not automated, you can choose between Fetch from GitHub or write your own description for that library.
If you want to, you could help me by keeping those libraries up to date and even improve their descriptions.

I am not sure. Maybe I can do one or two.
The point here is no one can be familiar with all these repos, except they are paid to track the updates.
Or you can setup a motivation mechanism to let your users do that.

ReviewHub.co - Review exchange for your apps

ReviewHub.co is a service that allows any app developer to exchange reviews with other developers.
• You give a review and get one in return. For each review you give, you recieve a point on your ReviewHub.co account. Your app will then appear for another developer to review, and you'll lose the point.
• We support apps on Google Play or Apple App Store.
• New users will be given 2 app slots
Check it out to get your app reviewed and move up in the rankings.
Thanks

Open Source Ad Blocker - Want to join?

Hello. My name is Sava and I'm the creator of "Block This" - a new DNS/VPN based ad blocker for Android.
As I'm planning to open source the project in the near future, I was wondering if there are any Devs here on this forum that wish to join the project and further develop the app.
It currently has about 40,000 active users (per month). The way it works is pretty interesting as its probably the only ad blocker that fully functions on non-rooted devices.
There is however a lot of room for improvement - in the interface, stability, bugs, user engagement, etc.
If this sounds interesting please drop in a line below.

Because blocking ads in other apps is against their new ToS.
Let's keep this thread at the top of the list. With the app being open source, it's a good Adblocker through VPN app that should receive more attention
@ggsava i'm interested, but i'm still a junior programmer rate. Would you take me to your project?
