Here's how to enable dolby atmos and viper4android in oreo 8.1 Custom Rom - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

I have tried 3 times in pixel experience, resurrection remix and lineageos 15.1
1. first kenzo must be in rooted, use magisk
2. Download dolby atmos for oreo 8.1 by emime12
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/themes/mod-dolby-atmos-oreo-8-1-t3734338
install it manually via TWRP
3. download latest viper4android from magisk (8 mei 2018) install it from magisk
4. download audio modification library from magisk and install it from magisk
5. download Any sound mod + dolby + viper uninstaller.zip from :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/sound-mod-viper4android-oreo-t3734107/post75171306
6. flash Any sound mod + dolby + viper uninstaller.zip manually via TWRP, why??
this will not remove dolby or viper4android, but this will remove some bugs that make dolby & viper crashes
7. if there is already an audio fx app in your rom please do not activate it, as it will make dolby not work
8. if everything is installed do not play music first but first turn on dolby and viper
9. if when you listen to music, you turn off viper4android and turn it back on viper will not run. if you want to turn it back on you must stop the music first, turn on the viper and play the music again
***** Sorry, my English is bad *****

anyone else tried it?

Working V4A on nougat.

Some of user reported that Viper4Android is not working on Nougat based ROM.I also faced driver installing issue on RR 7.1.1 after successful flashing V4A.This is because V4A is not officially released for nougat. Look here.
So if want working V4a then :-
Use Arise sound MOD(V4A driver is preinstalled)
OR
If u want only V4A then Do a Little Google search=>Flash V4A(I have tested with v2.5.0.5).Go to /vendor/etc.Make a backup file of audio_effects.conf and delete it or rename it by audio_effects.conf.bak. Then open V4A and install driver.Wait for 3-5 sec and then reboot.

Install Viper4Android on CM13 with AudioFx preinstalled

hello today i just installed CyanogenMod 13 on my Redmi 3s (Land) and i find it very nice, but i just need to install Viper4Android rather than AudioFx that is preinstalled on CM13, so how should i proceed to install it properly and get that flawless sound on my Redmi
Just get the latest apk from Viper's thread and install it normally. Then open it and grant it root access. Proceed to install its drivers and reboot. It should work without any problem if Audiofx is turned off (both for speaker and headphone).
oh that's all thank you, i will do it right now

[GUIDE] Viper4Android Systemlessly

With Magisk 11.5 came many bug fixes including for devices that have a separate vendor partition. We can now use Viper4Android systemlessly with the magisk module. This will not affect the lockscreen visualizer or the audio fx tile visualizer. So we can have viper4android without sacrificing these features.
1. Install magisk 11.5 in twrp recovery, reboot to system.
2. Install latest magisk manager from playstore or apk
3. Open magisk manager and select "downloads" option in menu pane.
4. Search for "Viper4Android FX" and click the download button then click install.
5. Reboot.
6. Open magisk manager and select "downloads" again.
7. Search for "Viper4Android FX" under "Installed."
8. Tap the tile (not the download arrow)
9. Click the link that says "download the latest apk here."
10. Install apk you just downloaded.
11. Enjoy Viper4Android systemlessly on Redmi Note 3.

It all depends on what headphones you are using and what quality the music is, i.e. lossy or lossless etc. Just play with the settings and find something you like (our ears aren't all the same).

i know magisk is to hide root. but i didnt know about it has viper capability. now my speaker sound louder. thanks.
Thank you for the guide, followed it step by step and it works perfectly!
I just had a question
I am on XenonHD so if I flash an update, I only have to flash magisk again right? Or must I do something special for V4A

Problem With Viper4Android FX

Hi, I am using Viper4android Fx for Magisk (created by ShadySquirrel) on Xiaomi Mi A1 which was rooted systemlessly by Magisk "patched_boot.img" method. I have installed Magisk SELinux permissive script and Busybox through Magisk Manager. Now whenever I am installing V4A Magisk module, it works for some time and then it stops working with a pop up like "Update/install driver". But when I am trying to update or install the driver, it fails with an I/O error. Reboot doesn't solve the problem. I read on Xda that SELinux permissive script needs to be enabled and storage permission needs to be given to V4A. I have both active. But still, the problem persists. If I uninstall V4A module and reinstall it, then it works, but for a few days. Then the problem starts again. Is there any workaround?
Note that, I have stock android 8.0.0 with no custom recovery and no custom kernel.

I'm not using viper actually, I stay with Dolby on Oreo with my a1.
But I guess you will find working viper and answers on the link.
I guess I have the same problem here. When I try to install Viper4Android or Viper4Arise modules, phone starts crashing with "Dirac Control Services Stopped Working" showing up every few seconds. I really love Viper and I don't want to move from Stock ROM or install any kernel. Any clue on that?
Maybe Try selinux switcher and viper4android by viper520, zhuhang and others (i Click Three Times Volume Up)

[HELP] Dolby Atmos and V4A on Stable Oreo (CRAP)

Has anybody got working V4A+Dolby Atmos on the latest stable Oreo (CRAP)? V4A is working fine using ahrion's Magisk Module but I couldn't get Dolby Atmos to work.
What I did:-
1. Installed Ahrion's Viper4Android Magisk Module.
2. Reboot.
3. V4A working fine (tested using Spotify & Musixmatch).
4. Installed Dolby Atmos from this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-dolby-atmos-axon-7-oreo-port-t3740508
5. Reboot. Got stuck in bootloop.
6. Went to recovery deleted Dolby Atmos Magisk Module.
7. Was able to boot again successfully but with only V4A (no Dolby Atmos)
If anybody got it working then please share your method here.
