hello everyone,i have edited build.prop to add some new string in mi note 2
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
i think it will activated camera2API on this device.
but this bug comes, whatsapp and instagram camera always zoom everytime i took some photos with those app.
any suggestion how i can handle this bug?
thanks before.
first post
In main camera zoom not is a bug, this is a feature. Really! That's work EIS, it's normal.
@trafopowielacz
I'm preety sure he is not talking about EIS.
Reffering to your question , that behaviour is normal for 3rd party apps .
Why? Because they don't support Camera2api .
You could've searched around here because this subject have already been discussed.
Disable Camera2api is you really need to take pictures with instagram or whatsapp.
Apps like GoogleCamera 3.2+ and OpenCamera support Camera2api.
(In OpenCamera you need to enable it in settings , first page)
There is no workaround for this , sorry.
Hope this helps .
While "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" exists some apps can show strange behavior. To prevent this try to add "camera.HAL1.packagelist=***" Instead of *** use package names of apps with strange camera behavior. Like this "camera.HAL1.packagelist=com.instagram.android,com.neaststudios.procapture"

Has anyone found a way to add camera to the UPSM ? I hope there's a xposed tweak or root exploit that allows this to happen?
THANKS IN ADVANCE !!!
Hi there,
I've been thinking of the same thing - it looked like there might be some ways with the rooted phone, but not sure if they made anything for the S7 yet. Luckily, I have WhastApp enabled by default, so I can take pictures with it (and videos) and send them to myself, all from UPSM. There's no need for a data connection or WiFi, the transfer will fail, but the photo will be saved in the Gallery. Also, to view your entire photo gallery from USPM, open up Facebook and hit Photo - long tap any picture to preview it.
I'd love to have the camera directly though, this is a bit roundabout (but, ok, better than not at all), which makes UPSM even better.
Cheers
Yeah it's a shame you can't use camera in UPSM mode. I had a Sony Xperia Z2 before this and on that with Ultra Stamina mode you could...

Isn't there an app called UPSM manager? I remember using one to add custom apps to UPSM.
Yea, I have rooted galaxy s7, and with upsm manager, I can add any camera app (or virtually any other app for that matter). Default camera app works great and so does any other camera app like open camera in UPSM mode. Also with default camera app, double pressing home button brings up camera app which is convenient. UPSM mode is best mode for my galaxy S7 because battery lasts several times longer than normal mode and I can still do pretty much everything!
Does anybody know how to disable camera noise reduction from every rom ?
I can disable it by using some other modded camera apps but in cm rom and also the RR other then the @zwliew cm ! it is not disabling it shows it disabled but whenever I click picture it shaved with the software applied camera noise reduction which makes pictures look smooth and ugly.
It is working though in MIUI any version and CM by @zwliew only !
And if there is some way that it can be disabled completely ! Like by editing camera hal or other camera related system libraries and files then it would be great !
Any help would be Appreciated
Thank you !
I need to know that as well!
The pictures look very ugly with this feature ob!
any solution?

Hey @Arnova8G2
I installed the pixel camera port ( GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.4 ) on my oneplus 2, but it force closes. I also tried GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.3, it opens but gets stuck with a camera icon in middle with black screen.
I'm using los 15.1.
I have attached log and screenshot. It would be great if you could look into this.
Thank You
You can make a screenshot of the app camera2probe
I look at your logcat (but have to wait, a lot of logcat to read). Thank you

Go to this link and install "- v4.0: MGCB_7.0H_C2API_v.4.0_AllinOne_Full_Manual ".
Do not make changes to the settings. Use as it is. If force close happens, go to "About App" and clear the data.

Which ROM you are using??
cuz in My ROM Application is closed forcefully.
Hello,
this thread is actually nothing special, I've just found some settings to get good results out of these Gcam apks and I'd like to share them here.
This is tested on the latest Stock Pie (10.0.2.0) and it works on my device.
So, first of all you have to enable Camera2API obviously (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/how-to-enabling-cam2-gcam-android-t3868766), but I think you're all familiar with that at this point.
Download one of these apks: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-bsg/
(I'm on the latest one) or if you prefer an Arnova version based on MGC by BSG (No PixelMod).
After that go into settings->BSG MOD settings.
Input Model: Set "Interface Style" to "Pixel II" (there are some focus issues with Pixel III), "Back Camera" to "Pixel 3 XL", "Front Camera" to "Nexus 6P" and "Config" to "Pixel2018 ZslR Hdr+"
FIX: Set "RAW Format" to "RAW10(default)" (this should already be set), "Image Format" to "YUV_420_888 (default)" and enable "Enable Motion" if you're into motion photos.
After that close the app, clear its cache and start it again.
If you experience some FC, try to clear again the cache and restart the app.
Now you should get a fairly stable Gcam with good performance, at least this is the best I've tried so far.
Portrait mode, HDR+, HDR enhanced and HDR OFF all work, burst photos work, Motion photos work, Night mode work, front camera works, panoramic works.
The only broken thing is Slow Motion.
The Camera will crash if you try to take a picture with Flash and HDR+ on OFF, but to me it's not a big deal since I never turn it off unless I want to take a burst. Anyway if you set "Pixel2018 Zsl Hdr+" in "Config" you should get this to work as well, but you'll lose Motion Photos. it's up to you here.
So that's it, if you find any better Setting, please share it
Sorry for maybe hijacking the post but i was using a gcam for nokia 7 plus which has the same 660 chip found here https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-backrider/ . I found it to be really stable too except 4k which doesnt work.

No hijack, don't worry!
I'm trying it and it works mostly fine, but it looks like it FC a bit more often than the BSG version (maybe it's just an impression of mine).
Anyway the main think I dislike about the non-BSG versions is that you can't select "Pixel II" as the interface and you lose tap to focus, which makes the app completely unusable to me.

Hey everyone, you already know about the QR scanner bug in Pie. Well, I've discovered it's cause. And the cause is HAL3 (Camera2API). After disabling ? 2API, the WhatsApp can scan QR codes easily. This means either HAL3 is not properly supported by this device or lacks some permissions. For proof, I've attached a screenshot.
So, devs had added an "In-app focus fix" switch that's based on this theory. Turning ON the switch (disables HAL3) help to scan QR codes.
By default, it is disabled so that gcam can work.
{This toggle is present in some PIE ROMs in Settings>System>LeEco Extras}. THANKS TO DEVS for this switch.
It's a very good switch if used wisely.
If this helped, then please tap the Thanks button
please, can you tell me how I can do this?

On pie ROMs, HAL3 is enabled by default. To disable, root your phone, download build.prop editor from play store. Grant it root permission. Search "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" change the value from 1 to 0. Reboot and check, it should scan. But gcam and sd cam will not work after disabling it. You need to download any 3rd party cam and manage with less picture quality.
Wow you're right! It indeed fixed the issue . Gcam is still working for me at full quality though!

Q. I'm experiencing force close in GCam and in the stock camera in latest updates of some pie ROMs like AEX, arrow, havoc etc. How to fix it?
A. It's not an Rom bug. Turn OFF the "In-app focus fix" in Settings > System > LeEco Extras.
Q. Ok, then what's the use of "In app focus fix"?
A. Read the first post of this thread carefully.
