Global rom release

I just spotted this at the mi mix download page

is there a way to flash this rom with locked bootloader?

Anyone having issues with FC of Gallery and Notes?....I am getting multiple repeated messages making the phone very difficult to use since the update from EU rom to this Global rom. Also when I go to settings/about phone/system updates/ reboot to recovery I am getting the picture of the phone with the cable plugged in and the web address at the bottom of the screen. Will I now get the OTA with this rom?

Yes ? I did a factory reset and reflashed the rom and now it seems amazing.

Guys what's the main difference with this Global Rom as opposed to the previous EU roms?

The previous EU-ROMS ar CUSTOM made, the Global is official. So noo need for a Xiaomi.eu ROM. And yes, cyou can flasg the OFFICIAL Global without unlocking the bootloader IF you are on a OFFICIAL Stable or Developer. Not on any "EU"-ROM

I'm now on MIUI8 8.2.2.0 Stable ... if i flash the Global Rom, no risk for me ? I lost nothing like all my apps, settings, photos, videos, settings ... ????

Flashed the 8.2.1 Global ROM using a PC and it works great. GAPPs installed and less bloat.

Between this phone and my oneplus 3 and pixel xl I actually like this one the most besides the fact that it runs android 6.0. Why do you dislike it?

Dislike ? I have all Samsung Note Series, as well more S series and here is conclusion.
MIUI is great dissapointment comparing targeted phone price...As I wrote in one review, it looks like little children "played games on Ferrari car"...I have all weird chinese letters as "houses,dots and boxes" instead normal text or keyboard...also..everything is chinese or some sort of...can not sync my google accounts,doesnt have possibility to import of contacts even can not create one, can not normaly type SMS messages....can not upgrade it to normal operating system because there is suported...none !! It is unbeliveable slippery. Official support is..none ! Camera is also very cheap one and images are unbelieveble bad for that devices price tag.
also needed to create weird MIUI account, or something to get support for nothing...bootloader is locked and if you are happy they will unlock it.so ou can not even change rom to something usable.
Let me be straight...phone looks very good...but usebillity is ONLY for Chinese people...for 800€ I should buy new S8...but I am lucky that I will get my money back and it was good school...Chinese devices...never again...Anyway, I could count disadvantages countlesly, and there is also one good thing...design.
Very very dissapointed..waste of money indeed....it was my notice for people to rather spend 700-800€ on something more usefull.

i hate when my mi mix dont recognize horizontal swipe. many times it mistakes horizontal swipe for vertical.. thats the only thing i dislike.

Same 3G data connection Bug, is very stable and has all sensors working! Y flash on mi5s plus and is smooth, fast and stable, fp didn't work on mi5s plus!

I don't know why, but I don't have any lags or bugs on MoKee ( except slow charging )! This ROM is smooth and stable, and I don't use 3G ( but it don't work ). As we see there are only two important bugs here ( 1. 3G. 2. slow charge, but we need to check, it can be individual bug, maybe I forgot to wipe something ), @xiaobai112220.

I think 3g may be related to ril and the slow charge might be related to kernel or ROM missing Xiaomi framework

Camera works for capricorn ( Mi 5S ). If you have natrium ( Mi 5S Plus ) - camera will not work.

Very well noted, that's why my internet is unstable, it's the lack of 3G. But other than that, the rom is satisfactory, I can not stand MIUI

Cann work, you only need flash camera & sound fix from RRemix

Wow, this is great!! Mokee on the Mi5s! I used to use this on my OnePlusX and OnePlus2. I've wiped and flashed it. It runs very well so far. Feels clean and quick. Fingerprint setup during the initial setup didn't work and I haven't tried again since, but I don't really use it anyway. Hope this dev continues to update it.

Fingerprint works, you should have installed Gapps and wait 10 seconds before try.

Hello, you can make rom available for mi5s plus, what you need to do to install it on Natrium.

I have tried this rom with Mi 5s. Pretty good one. Fingerprint works better than in MIUI (or maybe it was only tle feeling)...
But be careful, because at first boot in setup wizard there is question about encryption... accidentally i pressed YES and now my phone is encrypted even after restoring TWRP backup with miui...

Since Oreo official release is somewhat obscure, need some enlightment before flashing this :
1. Kindly confirm I will not lose any data
2. It's WW/Global version
3. In case the official ROM becomes available, can we use the same recovery method to flash it.

All those who are eager to try out this rom but are skeptic as how will it work ,and the the bugs.
To them i will say that go ahead and flash this rom & u will never regret.
No whatsapp bug encountered,its fixed.
The rom is perfect without any bug, no lags infact it is quite stable as an official rom.
and yess the battery backup is better than any of the roms i ever installed on this device,let it be marshmallow or noghat. i usually on my usage would get around 5 hrs sot on noughat, but on this i am glad to inform that i get aroung 6 hrs of sot.
this rom doesnt seem to be a beta.........it is perfect to release officially.
Go ahead and try out the rom guys, and you will thank me the for the advice.

1) On this new update, please backup all of your data because you will lose it.
2) It's WW version (CN,TW, JP will NOT WORK)
3) I will suggest you to downgrade your phone to Nougat (WW 14.2020.1712.85) and upgrade to Official Oreo ROM by ASUS; if available)

The bug on WhatsApp is fixed. Remember, it doesn't matter if you are staying in Europe , Japan etc if your phone is WW SKU.
This ROM is for WW SKU ONLY!!!

1) The battery backup isn't great on this Oreo ROM (because it overheats our devices). Marshmallow is way way better in terms of battery life. Nougat ROM is pure sh*t.
2) This ROM contains bugs (for example OIS stabilization, overheating, 2nd row of status bar touch problem (hit or miss), APK installation problem from Telegram etc. So it's partially stable I would say.

Well thats wierd because i didnt encountered any of the above problems you have listed.
my phone doesnt gets heated even on heavy usage. battery backup is great (3 cycles with 6 hrs sot each)
no apk installation error i got, even ive installed telegram.
only one bug i encountered was while using twin app feature for whtsapp, the twin whatsapp profile pic was not able to upload, but thats nothing.
i love the fluidity of the rom.

The lock screen clock is the worst looking clock I have ever seen on Android. Is there a way to change it?

Wi-Fi works properly , fingerprint does not, although it is recognized. Default font size is very small, next bigger to big. Reverting to previous rom seems to be difficult, as it gets into boot loop. Only few languages available, no french, german or spanish.

see that at first it is ok but after a while it goes slow! So SLOW!

My Wi-Fi is working reasonably fast. And I figured out how to get the fingerprint working. I installed Always on Fingerprint AOF https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-fingerprint-mi-5-mi-note-2-t3660179 and it works perfectly. I think I will stick a while with MIUI 10, in the first place because GPS is working out of the box and I had to use GPS Locker to get it working on RR.

Is this compatible with the redmi 3 (not pro) ?

You can log into mi account and you must if you have registered the device before, because you are asked to login before you can finish installation. MIUI 10 is quite slow on this device, fingerprint does not work most of the time.

Based on your experience and previous suggestions (Mokee Rom) I would like to see if you could recommend a stable ROMs based on MIUI, whether Android Oreo, Android Pie or Android Q ... I would like the MIUI experience but I do not like the idea of ​​having to downgrade the Android version.
Or inclusive if you can give me your Top of stable custom or final version ROMS for the Redmi 3 Ido (If you included a MIUI based ROM it would be perfect).

you can try this miui11 for a while it's not that bad
but it's not that stable as mokee 9.0 is
and sadly i have to say that there is no stable miui base rom

I would like to switch to an Android 11 Custom ROM, but since it's my daily driver phone, I wouldn't encounter bugs or problems with banking apps or camera.
Any suggestion for Pixel-like ROM so much stable to use it everyday?

The goal is to make the best use of the phone's hardware features, as well as being up-to-date, you will never go back to the phone's ROM stock once you try it. I suggest you use one of the ROMs

Use Rohie Os A11. Its very fast and pixel-like rom

Thanks for making this thread.This should be the most important topic on this forum because Mi a2 stock rom is really bad due to last updates.I thought the result will be very helpful.The results make me even more confused now.As I see LineageOS has troubles with gcam modes and Pixel Experience is discontinued.I'm trying to find the most secured and stable ROM for my device with a working Gcam(the_dise) and banking apps.So which one is the actual winner?

What are the differences between PixelPlusUI and Pixel Extended?I don't really care about extra features.All I want is a secure and reliable OS with working GCam.I don't find any comparisons between these 2 ROMS.Which one of them you like more and why?

It's quite tasteful, you better try these
PixelPlusUI ROM has many features and settings, good customization capabilities and good Maintainer
Pixel experince ROM fairly closed but stable

stuck with stock android 10,why?because lot of roms,but not all are fully translated to mine languange+not all putted screens in descriptions "what you get after installed",not all are rooted after full install process,not all are with gapps by default.Right now using device mi A2.Not all have possibility to remove that google search bar thing from home screen.
