"fastboot oem unlock" to unlock without permission? - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have a friends Redmi 3S Prime. I've sent the unlock request but more than 2 days have passed now, no info from Xiaomi. I've tried to use their Unlock tool but it says "no permission".
I came a across an idea to run "fastboot oem unlock". After running that I get a weird screen asking me Yes or No.

"fastboot oem lock" again to get warranty
Sent from my land using XDA Labs

Bro u pressed yes and what happened after that ?

What is 'fastboot oem unlock' method??
Can somebody explain about it and how to unlock bootloader using it??

What happened, is it possible to unlock Redmi 3s prime bootloader by fastboot oem unlock method? ?
Is it safe??

If it works like that it'd be hilariously easy, and such a good thing. Then you're free from all hassles of unlocking the bootloader the hard way. I wonder that you got this screen, it's awesome!

According to a Xiaomi Note 3 thread, it is possible to unlock bootloader without permission from the MIUI dev team, however you may brick your phone
Someone needs to do an unlocked BL package that can be flashed to 3S
source: http://xiaomitips.com/guide/unlock-redmi-note-3-bootloader-without-official-permission/ (it may be fake, I don't really know)

I haven't pressed "Yes", decided to wait for Xiaomi to respond to unlock request, as It's not my phone and I didn't want to brick it. If someone tries it, report here .

Yes.. That's why I said according to
If it was a success with Note 3, they can probably do the same thing to 3S

Oh excuse me

Looking at your first post , you'll never be able to unlock the bootloader whatsoever your trials will be.
Reason:
The installed rom is a very old resaler ROM and you need to be on an official one.
As well the modem is.
You must flash a fastboot an official rom as explained at many places.
Sorry

Well here's what you can do:
1) You can wait, wait, wait, and wait some mroe for someone to even attempt this
2) PAY THE TEN FREAKIN DOLLARS
Do you think that if there was a way to unlock this phone, it would have been in this forum by now? Or are you on to something that nobody else is aware of?
EDIT: this is the wrong forum for this crap anyway

its not an iPhone thats why, you're gonna pay either way just get it over with already.
In an attempt to be less rude than the other poster, here's the deal.
The unlock codes are held in a database on a server run by HTC.
There is no algorithm involved with the IMEI to figure out the code.
So getting it for free with some tool would be quite surprising and highly unlikely.
Flashing the ROM will not unlock the phone.
is there a way to unlock SFR HTC Magic ?
my problem
Hello,
i´m new here and my english not so good, but i hope, anyone can help me here.
I´m from germany and i have a Vodafone branded 32B Magic.
So i had my magic rooted and had a hero rom installed, but for some days i loaded the RUU Rogers on my phone. Now i lost my root, the language is only english and the magic have no drivers installed so i can´t go on market or to the mobile internet.
Many ways to delete the RUU or root this one failed.
When i used the cmd on my PC i make fastboot devices, then comes my serial number and fastboot, but when i will type the words fastboot boot recovery.....img in the next line, it comes : downloading ´boot.img´... FAILED <remote: not allow>
What can i make to become my root rights back so i can load a custom rom back on my phone?
Please can anyone help me?
To OP, can't you even read the thread for the weekly free offer?
I unlocked my Rogers Magic using information on this forum only. Unfortunately I cannot recall what exactly I did - too long ago.
Can anyone sent me the link where can i find the unlocking procedure for my phone

Get a non-Roger/non-fido SIM card. Stick it in the phone and it will ask you for an unlock code.

The Canadian Note 3 sm-n900w8 does not have a locked bootloader. For a custom ROM, flash TWRP and flash the ROM from TWRP.
The phone doesn't support fastboot commands.
Thanks! once you told me that it really helped thanks audit13!

Thanks for the heads-up. No wonder when I tried to install ADB & Fastboot, the installation couldn't be completed. Now I can root with CFAR and install TWRP on my Canadian Note 3 SM-N900W8 with confidence. :good:

I'm unlocked and don't get that message past the initial unlock. My gut says you didn't enable the "Settings-Developers Options->OEM Unlock" toggle before unlocking. I followed the instructions in the "OnePlus 5: Unlock Bootloader | Flash TWRP | Root | Nandroid & EFS Backup & More !!" and it worked without the issue your mentioning.
I get the same message on my OP5 I could have sworn I turned on OEM unlock when I unlocked the bootloader. Hmm I am curious how I can get rid of the message at startup without bricking my phone lol will wait a bit until a tutorial posts up

I was dead wrong as I get that screen also. It seems that everyone that unlocked the bootloader gets such a screen at boot time. I read a post that said it was forced by Google on Nougat so that an altered (unlocked bootloader) phone was seen by the phone's user. I also read that it also happened on the OP 3T but they eventually found a way around it.
Sorry for my misleading post but when I rebooted before I must have been looking away so had not seen it.

Unlock/Lock OEM after Unlocking Bootloader

Hola!
Today Rommco05, venugopalu007 and I were talking about OEM unlocking and locking on this Question & Answer thread. As it was off topic for that thread so I opened this one for further discussion.
Rommco05 and I are not able to lock or unlock OEM after unlocking the bootloader but I found that venugopalu007 and some other people are able to do that. We don't understand how
Here is a screenshot of solid "Unable OEM unlock" button after unlocking bootloader

And here is another screenshot of "Unable OEM unlock" button from my device after unlocking bootloader
I'm sure some of us don't know how it is possible to lock/unlock OEM, Sooo we can discuss this here
Here are the screenshots again(In case it's was not visible in Xda Labs)

Report back if this work , i cannot do again becasue i dont have the rollback files right now .
Yeah, I will try but for the time I am stuck in bootloop for my luck. Cannot do anything on my phone for the last one and a half hour
Rommco05 said:
I mean I can't tested because I don't have Honor 8 and for Honor 9 waiting for stable twrp and anyway for H9 isn't full firmware for download (I don't understand why Huawei/Honor don't release with new phone full firmware for download) so Saeem if want can tested but here is still question (try to ask too ) where is rollback packages for another models?

Your device isnt supported for bootloader unlocking. It's that simple. You can't do anything about it.

Then it should unlock. Check the steps again and double check for anything missing. If it still doesn't work, you're gonna have to contact their customer service and request for an unlock. It is mandatory that they comply into helping, since this shouldn't be restricted to anyone.

Occasionally some people get a false not qualified message.
There are a few things you can try
There is a Alt entry method
Sometimes the website is just not working.
You can check to see if the CID is eligible.
Sometimes using a different device or internet connection works.
