Possible to unlock 3rd party apps for IR Blaster? - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Hey I read the IR Blaster is whyever blocked for 3rd party apps. Is it somehow able to unlock it? With root, xposed or whatever? Maybe do the same the ROM Remote does to get access? It's really sad and unnecessary

HTC releasing IR API to devs

http://blog.htc.com/2013/02/calling-all-ir-apps/
I emailed a few devs for apps I either use or would like to use asking if they will be taking advantage of the IR API. I suggest others do the same if they want to use the IR feature in apps. I can control a couple of my home theater devices using their own wifi apps but it would be great to control the rest using IR.

Has anyone looked at the IR API yet? It's considered a partner one, so you have to request access to it from HTC. I'm assuming there's just train/transmit methods, but I'm curious if there's anything else (and how easy it is to use).

You can get access to the IR API if you are a partner from HTC. But all the informations about the API are confident. So nobody is allowed to tell you exactly what's in the API.
IR is such a useful feature and so highly standardised globally it won't be long before there are loads of IR apps available.
Hopefully IR is here to stay on phones and hopefully IR will start to appear on tablets.

[Bounty] Enable Pen and Muti Window for Apps without root

I have yet to root my note since our only methods available involve losing the manufacturer's warranty. At this point I'm not really interested in a custom rom or recovery, but one feature I would like would be to enable additional apps in pen window. I'm not sure if there is a way to do this without root (at least enabling from altering system files), but thought I would ask in case anyone was interested in giving it a shot.
Another possibility might be to put an application together like the in the linked forum. This actually works for our note in enabling multi window for most apps that I have tried so far. Anyone want to try to put something like this together, but for pen window?
I'd pay $20 for either of these.

Won't be possible without root. Devs need to add the code or you need to mod the device. It'll never be possible unless a third party creates thier own version of multi window or samsung opens it up themselves (which I don't think they can cause some apps will have issues with it)

So if it can't be done from within, is there a way to modify apps externally for compatibility with pen window? Since we know of at least one third party app (what's app) where is it enabled natively, it should be possible to modify other apps to do the same. This would be a very similar process to what the app I linked to in the op does.

IR remote control of DSLR

Hello I used to control my Sony DSLR with SGS4 IR remote control, but now I cant find aplication compatible with LG G2 IR blaster and the stock apk doesnt have camera codes. Do you know some apk free or paid with G2 compatibility?
THX
Make a custom remote and just have the phone learn the codes from the DSLR's remote.
what about us who don't have remote at all ?

What is this FaceProvider app running and can i stop it?

Noticed on my samsung device that is slowing down that this is running/trying to keep open network communications.
Sounds like one of those things I dont use. How to stop it?
Is it a system app or thrid party app.
you do not give enough information so we can tell you how to remove or disable it.
there is no more info, it isnt an "app" i can find persay, but a process running with a suspicious name, and its probably system as many other threads seem to think it is.
you can stop it but you may have to root your phone. As you know rooting will void the warranty.
you will need access to the system files to disable.
I do not know if you can access it without rooting.
cant root samsung devices that are locked down or i wouldn't be wasting my time on here.
so what is this garbage and how did it get turned on in the first place?
might be the face recognition for the camera take?
I know this thread is a few months old, but did you ever find more info on FaceProvider? From what I've read, it's definitely a system thing (not sure if it's a legit app) and it isn't anything suspicious. I guess it's something exclusive to Samsung devices, because Sammy owners seem to be the only ones that talk about it. I read in another thread that it may control certain stock gallery functions, and disabling it may make your gallery app act funny. You should be good if you use a 3rd party gallery app, though. The reason I'm interested in FaceProvider is it supposedly allows certain apps to block screenshots. Apparently if you disable or enable FaceProvider (the thread wasn't clear which) you can bypass screenshot blocks. However, I'm running a custom rom on my rooted Note 5, and I don't see that I have FaceProvider anywhere on my device. So I'm trying to find a way to download and install it. Just thought I'd share what I know about it with you, and ask if you've learned anything about it.

Disabling the camera via software/root?

Hello, I am trying to disable my camera via rooting or etc. Could someone advise how?
Why would you want to do that?
The place where I work, now requires us to disable or remove the camera. I am looking for a way to disable it
You could just delete one of the cameras dependencies like a library or maybe a configuration file somewhere. That should bork the camera for you. Alternatively, there is an app on the play store that restricts access to any app you choose and shows a fake force close toast.
If you have root just use tibu to freeze the camera app. Or uninstall it.
