S7 EDGE reboot everytime µTorrent is launched - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi Guys,
I have a weird problem with my S7 Edge, everytime I launch µTorrent my phone reboots few minutes after
Can anyone help please
Thanks in advance

Logcat maybe?
But thinking logically, if its a reboot, does it have some Permission issues and is causing the device to crash?
Your asking abit of a needle in a haystack unless this is a common issue, If you can post the Logcat we can get an idea why its crashing / rebooting

Or google how to extract Logcat android
(The System Log file)
There is alot of Apps on the Play-store that will also extract this for you.
Just search google play "Logcat"
Ideally you want to capture the log straight after a boot when the crash / reboot occurred.

Will do that immediately

Here it is

I launched it again and my phone rebooted a second time log attached

I'm no expert but there's something with the install of AppCompat.

As i said i'm no expert but it seems that that is your problem. It tries to install it but it can't 'cause there's already a factory one. Don't know what it is though.

Hi, I have a problem with the whole locking the Android for too long. The problem is this, when I lock my HTC HD2 for too long, the screen freezes and doesnt come back on unless I remove the battery and re-boot.
Is there a solution for this?
And if so, can it be posted?
Thanks in advance

I have SetCPU 2.0.2 autodetect read-only. It doesnt seem I can edit this 'Scaling'
Dropdown box, is this where the SMARTASS option is?

Do you have rooted build? Mostly all the builds are rooted. But sometimes in some builds root permissions have problem. You can check whether you have root or not by following method:-
Download terminal emulator from market(free)
Open emulator and type "su" without quotations and press enter
if you do not get any errors then you have root enabled. If you have some errors then you might have to find solution to root your build.
I also got lock freezes that appeared at some point. I started remembering what I was installing and guessed it might be the poweramp lockscreen widget. I disabled it yesterday and did not have any lockscreen freezes today.

Well I am not a pro in the matter of rooting the build... I would recommend you to search the thread of your own build. May be someone else had the same problem. Another thing you can do is post another question about rooting the phone, may be someone expert will help you out....

Well in regular android you do have access to some part of the system. To get that access you need to root your android.

[Q] Random reboots - Is there a log I can view?

Hey all,
running CM7 (in particular this), and have always experienced these random reboots since I rooted/ROM'd etc.
I have worked out it is to do with 3G/4G data connection and/or swapping back to 2G to save battery or something along those lines. I have tried different radios, but not other ROMs (dont particularly want to change ROM).
My question is, is there a log file or some sort of diagnostic i can run to see exactly the cause so i can better find a fix/report the bug?
Cheers.
Ye, just write su than logcat > /sdcard/logcat.txt in terminal emulator this will save the logcat to the logcat.txt file, you can than copy that to your pc and see what happened before the reboot.
I'm going to try and provide a log too. Problem is, I usually only notice it after a while, when I take my phone and see that it has rebooted and waiting for PIN.

Thanks man, will do this very soon and post my log (if thats ok? and if there isnt anything personal in there)
EDIT: Holy c***. its 14,500 lines of code... what should I be looking for?
I have found there are several errors relating to GTalk (which i never/cant use). I didnt realise I hadnt Frozen this with Titanium Backup, so I have done that now.
I was also getting errors relating to sqlite and the Market, but not sure this is causing any reboots as yet, the error was as follows:
Code:
I/Database(12351): sqlite returned: error code = 0, msg = Recovered 8 frames from WAL file /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/databases/downloads.db-wal
I will see if I get any more reboots and let everyone know, but I suggest freezing GTalk as a start if you are getting reboots.
FWIW the culprit in my case was SKYPE

Really! Interesting. Did you uninstall or freeze?
Also, I can tell you that freezing GTalk definitely has reduced the number of reboots, but not eliminated it. I have just tried uninstalling Skype (I never use it anyway) as wintermute000 suggested, and will follow up again in a few days.
Uninstalling Skype has greatly helped. Thanks wintermute000!
No worries. I just run skype when I need and exit fully when done, no need to freeze or uninstall

You can redirect stdio (will increase logcat events):

"there is a problem parsing the package"

Guys,
I'm so angry , I just rooted the nook glowlight and am unable to install any apk files.
I'm always getting "there is a problem parsing the package", whatever I found on the internet :crying:
Is there no file explorer by default on it ? And why this parse error ?
And most websites just crash, grrr
Anyone, anyone please anyone : HELP MEEEE
Do you have ADB working? Can you see a logcat?
Do you know that these APKs are actually good and designed for API level 7?
Also, is installation of apps from unknown sources enabled in nook color tools? Most (all?) of the NST rooting packages include it, but you do have to set the flag to get packages found via the internet (rather than the google store) and copied to the device to install.
I get that error sometimes when downloading .apk files from some sites. Your browser might not be downloading the file with the correct filetype suffix. Can you see if it has the .apk suffix on it? I've found that some browsers do better than others with handling this file-type. If you can get xScope browser or Opera Mobile I think those were better. It's also possible that a retry of the download will work, or that the file itself is just bad.
I get the same error on my nook simple touch.
the same apk's work on my galaxy nexus.
Anyone knows what might be the problem and how to solve it?
A logcat will tell you exactly what the problem is.
Use ADB and get a logcat.

Are you sure these apks are compatible with Android 2.1 Eclair? Not everything will work. Which programs are you trying to install specifically?

I haven't thought of that. but you're probably right.
I'm surprised the error message is not more obvious though.

Wrong forum.
Try installing any other package with requirements : 2.1+
In Settings check "Allow Installation of Non-Market Apps" .
Install apk from SDCARD.
I'm 90% sure you are just trying to install a package not compatible with A 2.1.

I have a similar problem...
new to rooting and romming, finaly!!!! got my ms770 lg motion back to stock and I too am getting the error " there is a problem parsing the package".
I noticed that if I download an app, it installs fine, no problem...but when I transfer from my pc, it shows up with that error message when I try to install.
I have read a LOT of these forums , trying to determine how to solve this riddle...they all say try THIS file manager, or, make sure installation of non-market apps is checked, or some such thing...
Well, the "allow installation of non-market apps" thing IS checked...still no dice...
What do I do with the log once I get it?
Basically....can someone please point me in the right direction? Please?

Camera stopped working on my Moto E4 XT1768

I bought a moto E4 and immediately rooted it, when I went to take a picture the camera didn't work so I thought it was a hardware problem. I contacted amazon and received a replacement today, I checked the camera and it was working perfectly so I rooted it and it stopped working I'm now here with two Moto E4s without working cameras. Any help would be appreciated.

Just want to clarify, I'm not a dev and have no clue how to read a log, I just try help people and usually getting the logs is what's needed so that when a dev pops by the logs are already there. Now I'm in Miami with the cat5 hurricane coming , I'm not leaving.

Its been awhile since i've read logs, but it looks like your getting a permission denied error.
Code:
09-06 20:11:55.377 W/Adreno-ES20( 7273): <get_gpu_clk:229>: open failed: errno 13
So Amazon never asked you to send the first one back?
How do I fix this?

I don't know. It could be multitude of issues causing this. It could be root (or the way you rooted your device). If you moved/deleted any files from /root, /system, etc.
Check your camera permissions (settings > apps > camera) and make sure access is granted. But If it still doesn't work, I suggest restoring your firmware and see if the issue persist.
