If bought from Hong Kong rather direct from China I assume it will have an English language option?
Also will it get any kind of update support I assume not outside the region?
Phones bought from OPPO directly, http://oppostyle.com or their(!) verified Amazon store, have an international warranty and have the international firmware and hardware (T-mobile bands are added).
I suggest buying directly from OPPO just to be sure you have warranty (and it's usually cheaper!).
bought mine from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...iveASIN=B00BA8ZWPO&linkCode=as2&tag=m0494a-20
everything comes in English with the International version, even the paper work inside the box
and yes it gets constant OTA updates from Oppo. but this last update releasded yesterday was not OTA

The pre-order is for the "Midnight Black" Find 5 (only available in 32GB). The white model is available in both 16GB and 32GB (showing in stock as of this post).
Chinese stock rom has English language option too.
also you can install CM10.1
Please help me clarify my below queries..
- Are there any disadvantages like - the OS or something will have chinese language which cannot be changed etc?
- What is the customs tax for importing to India (anyone tried importing to India from gearbest/geekbuying etc)? I dont want the customs tax bloating up the total price of the price of locally available other equivalent models like one plus two/one..
- What things should I adjust to live with if I import from china instead of buying an international phone or my country version
I'm not sure about India specifically, but for me in the UK the only way to get the Note 2 was via a reseller.
The installed ROM was poor and had various bloatware in it that the international official ROM does not. I would recommend getting rid of it right away. You can flash either the stock stable ROM or the developer edition which will also give you root access if you need it. I will be using the fastboot method to flash a ROM as soon as i get within reach of a PC to make sure my phone is malware free.
Sorry, I can't comment on import duties, perhaps someone else will chip in.

Thanks! That was a great info ! So you mean I dont have to worry even if the Redmi Note 2 I get has some other ROM i can flash to better one.
Let me see if anyone else reply with other questions I have. I am also concerned about what i will do if the device is defective whether shops like gearbest give a replacement, etc.
where can I get the international official rom ?
Have a look on http://en.miui.com/ for info on downloading the MIUI ROMs as well as how to flash, either from the updater software on the phone, recovery, or from a PC (such as in fastboot mode).
Any more replies ?

I think you are right. I downloaded the official 'global' ROM from MIUI but it only has English and Chinese languages. Normally their international ROMs are multi language.
For international rom:http://en.miui.com/thread-157254-1-1.html
Donwload:https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347808405
The biggest problem is the time it takes for shipping. I bought mine from a HK shop on eBay because I dropped my LG G2 and needed it fast, so I paid a little more.
Even the China ROM comes with English, so don't worry.
You just have to read up on my previous posts or look at the MIUI forum to figure out how to install GAPPS, TWRP recovery + SuperSU.
Once you delete the chinese bloatware it is just like any other english android device. Except for the MIUI theme store which is still in Chinese.
ive used oppomart and dx before and they were professional quick and polite

did seller lies ? or true ?
but is the global version is advable ? or not out yet ?

The official website did sell the global version and sold out quite immediately. I had tried to buy through the website, didn't got it, but I believe the stock must be very limited. So the seller might be one of the lucky one. However with limited stock I think the price will be quite high

I came across one the other day. It's the real thing. ROMs are a bit tricky for it though.
I've already received it. I'm in Germany and ordered via Gearbest.
Is this the cheapest option right now for the global 128GB version? €400 excl customs. http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/...251.html?wid=4
Hey everyone so I have my zenfone 3 zoom for almost a week now. then I tried updating to nougat and after a few hours of usage a white line appeared at the bottom of the screen. I don't know what caused the problem but there have been a lot of users also saying that they have the same case. is it really replacing the phone the only way to solve the problem? thanks.
ASUS support on ZenTalk has been making people send their phones. They claim its hardware.
@chardie, out of curiosity, where did you purchase your Zenfone 3 Zoom?
This issue seems to be less frequent in the later releases, with the highest frequency in the Asian and Brasilian markets.
I think it'd be interesting to know if it's still affecting the units in the more recent markets, like the US and the few European countries where it was already released (France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany - some through the ASUS store, others through vendors like Amazon).
It's one of the reasons I'm still not sure if I'll get this one...
I live in Brazil and got my phone in March. After a couple weeks I got the white line on the bottom of the display. Sent to Asus and got a replacement unit. Using for 3 weeks, updated to nougat and no problem at all. Speaking with the support they told me it was a hardware issue with the firsts batches of production and the issue is solved now.

Hi, well I bought it here in the philippines and they replaced the unit. now it's working like a charm. they already released a 2nd production that's why there's no problem anymore. but I guess it' sbetter to get the zenfone 4
I live in Canada. I had this happen to me as well. Phone bought in June 2017, issue occurred in the middle of July. I don't remember if I had done an update just before. I didn't know the problem was common. I contacted ASUS for an RMA and they replaced the screen.
Hi all,
I was going to order from Banggood, but the wait on stock and the 20+ days shipping time, chance of duty, warranty, etc put me off a bit.
Since it should be available in certain EU countries, I was wondering if anyone found a place to buy it from, which does shipping to the UK within shorter waiting time?
Thanks
Ken

Hey Ken,
I placed an order with https://www.eglobalcentral.co.uk/ yesterday. They seem to have the phone in stock and (in my case eglobalcentral.de) ship to germany from the UK. I usually order through gearbest, but they are currently selling for 230 Euros and the phones is only 199 Euros at eglobal. I can let you know if everything went alright once I receive the phone
Thanks antimatter. I didn't realise they have stock in the UK. How the website mentioned limited stock & cannot guarantee stock level.
Please do let me know when your order is dispatched. Thanks a lot.
this is where i got mine from mate
https://www1.techinthebasket.com/temp-new-product-6880.html
i also ordered 2 zenfone 3's from there a while back and all went really smooth with no hiccups
Thanks Robgee. I see the stock at techinthebusket doesn't have LTE band 20 (800MHz) which i need
sigh...

According to gsmarena it does support band 20 and I can't see that site getting specific ones that don't, is there a way to check on my phone for supported bands?

Hey Ken, I received my order today. All seems fine! I ordered Monday night and had a shipping confirmation Wednesday. Tracking via DHL showed it wasn't dispatched until Friday, but it arrived Saturday so all in all I'm pleased with how it went.
How is the phone and what bands are supported? Please confirm.
Got mine from eBay UK, seller had 50k feedback. Came with a UK charger surprisingly in the package. Was £219.99 a bit more expensive. But you have eBay to help you if you have a problem compared to the Asia based company which tend to ignore you if you have a problem.
