Finally got in and now unable to uncheck Reactivation Lock - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've run into the same annoying problem that so many others have run into with the Samsung Reactivation lock. I searched high and low, tried many methods but none worked since they've all been patched...until the method I found last night. Now I've finally managed to get into the phone and even into the settings, but now everytime I try to uncheck the Reactivation lock it automatically comes back on. Does anyone know of a way around this or what to do next? I'm on Verizon S5 LP firmware version BOE1 (I think).
By the way, if anyone wants to know a way to get in the phone using the method I found, let me know....before Samsung patches that too. I actually haven't seen this method yet and I've seen many.
Thanks in advance!

Could you please post instructions? I cannot get past the login screen of mine and I have been giving the run around at Samsung for over 2 hours and eventually a supervisor just flat out told me that there's nothing they can do. I will PM a photo of the imei # and phone if you request, the phone is not stolen and I own it and cannot get back in.

Well not sure what your exact setup is (I.e. carrier, phone, Android version) but I can point u to the instructions that worked for me. It's kind of a combination of the first 2 posts. Here's the link:

Need help asap please - SM-G935W8

So I was setting up my device yesterday and enabled fingerprint unlocking and choose a pattern unlock and written password as backup options.
When I restarted my phone, in order to unlock the phone it stated to use pattern unlock to protect fingerprint scanning after reboots (something of that nature).
Problem is for some reason I cannot figure out the pattern to unlock (I'm sure im using the one i set in place) and I cannot use my written password to unlock either, it's just by pattern.
So am I locked out of my phone and don't know what to do. I'm trying to do a factory reset to see if that'll work.
But I also flashed twrp and noticed that this model cannot be rooted so i left the custom recovery as it is. I do not want to swipe right to "allow modifications" as I heard if I do not install the right files it might be stuck in a continuous loop. So I clicked on Keep Read Only. When I try to wipe it keeps on telling me it's failed is it due to being in read only (I also don't see any of the contents on my internal storage)?
Should I flash the stock recovery with odin but I cannot find it for this model. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Forgot to activate OEM-Unlock for Root. Phone Bricked: "Custom binary blocked by FRP"

Forgot to activate OEM-Unlock for Root. Phone Bricked: "Custom binary blocked by FRP"
Hello,
today i rooted my J5 (SM-J500FN) via Odin and CF-Auto-Root.
Everyting went well but after the root i unticked OEM-Lock (please dont ask me why i did it) and restarted my phone and this nice screen greeted me: "Custom binary blocked by FRP. SECURE FAIL: KERNEL"
So I tried everything I found on the Web and found nothing really helpful. Then i tried flashing the recovery and reflashing CF-Auto-Root but both got blocked in the Download Mode with the message "FRP Block".
Please can someone help me, i really hope i dont have to reset my phone because my google authenticator is stored on it, and it would be a real pain to write to the support of every account i connected to reset my Security Options.
Thanks, Toby
P.S: when i flash the boot.img does it wipe my device?

Try using Smart Switch from Samsung to backup you stuff and accounts. Maybe it will work. Using Smart Switch you can also easily reflash the latest Marshmallow firmware.

I don't know about that... Try asking someine more experienced.
I do know that even in Recovery mode the ROM locks you out and doesn't let you factory reset for example

No it does not. You are not affecting the data partition.
This would only happen if you flashed the factory repair firmware.
Thank you all. Here is my Guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/complete-guide-to-rid-custom-binary-t3541403
It is generally for all (Samsung) Smarphones as i believe that it wont be any different.

Happy for you ^^
When activating the oem unlock you can install Twrp, kernel or custom rom without the activation of FRP security that is activated when you establish a security pattern in the device
When the binary is blocked by the FRP you must install the factory firmware, then enter the recovery and do a factory reset since the FRP prevents external access to the system and data as prevention
You will be prompted for the email and password of the previously used account

You only need to enter your login details if you factory reset.
Flashing the stock firmware is enough to remove frp. No need to factory reset.

Which device? Don't you know your Google login details?

Phone is bricked bad, please help!

Alright, so I have an S7 that I bought off of ebay, it was originally sprint, but I use it on Metropcs.
Today, I attempted to Odin root it and it got me stuck in a "Galaxy s7" boot loop. As a result, I looked for the stock, which also put my in a "Recovery booting" loop. Now I don't know what to do. Recovery mode does not work. The only thing I can do is go into download mode.
Some notes: I have/had nougat on it, don't. I wanted to use smart switch, but it needs a serial number, and when I tried to find mine using the IMEI from the download screen to find mine, it said it couldn't find the Serial, so I'm just going to assume it's a fake S7.
If anyone can help at all, or even have an S7 serial, please let me know. I've tried several of the main threads for sprint with the 2.2gb stock AP/CP/CSC, and none of them worked, they all result in boot loop.
Edit: My phone is an S7, NOT an edge. I put this in the wrong section, and I have to wait 20mins to make a new thread.

just saw ur message lol.. if u dont mind me asking, whered u get it from lol..
either way, you have an S8 with eng mode enabled. Typically on newer phones there are eng certs or "tokens" that can be flashed to the device enabling eng mode and allowing custom firmware.. the certs are pretty much impossible to find unless ur in good with samsung or pay a good amount of money for..
to my knowledge, they are device specific also. meaning no way to pull the cert/token to use on other devices..
i could be wrong but based on @partcyborg coming across a similar eng mode that is what i have learned lol

It's cert based? Damn. Thought maybe it was another bootloader partition that isn't in the BL Odin tar. I didn't think the cert carried anything other than the IMEI. But I guess that's a foolproof way to do it, since it's coded according to the CPID. And no, they can't be read from the device. Guess we're stuck...

It sounds like the binary being referred to is a partition that is not touched by a standard firmware flash. Have you tried flashing the Combination/Factory firmware?
Ive seen guys mention the error but I've never seen it so I'm not sure. Sounds like it's frp locked so i would search on a way to bypass frp on your device. They've changed a bit and i haven't read up on the newer devices really yet I'm not ready to upgrade

iBowToAndroid, thank you for replying. I tried this specific combination through AP section of ODIN:COMBINATION_FAC_FA81_N960FXXU2ARK4.rar. ODIN flashed successfully but phone is in continuous boot loop stating "Boot Image Signature Check Fail!!!. Reboot to avoid warranty bit set!!!" Combination ARK4 is based on Oreo 8.1 meanwhile device had stock Pie 9.
What do you mean exactly when you say Combination/Factory Firmware if you don't mind...

5th digit back is your bootloader number you are flashing a older boot loader than what's on your device

No, it's not actually FRP locked. It just means that the FRP security is enabled. If he did a factory reset from the Recovery menu, then yes, it would actually be "locked". But he has specifically stated that his device is bootlooping - so how would he do a bypass anyways...?

Huh? Dude, that makes no sense. First of all, he stated that it flashed successfully. And regardless, the newest bootloader for his model is 2. So it's impossible for his device to have anything newer.

That is exactly what I meant - a Combination firmware. It sounds like whatever changes were made to put it into "Eng mode" prevent it from accepting a stock retail device flash - or at least prevent it from booting on that firmware. Sounds like you might need to look into obtaining a different device
Hello, I just came across a S8 International G950FD phone with this option on Download screen. Not sure if it is worth anything to anyone before I use it. I wonder what this mode means on a Exynos Samsung, because these already allow the bootloader to be unlocked. Anyone know? I could see the G950U utilizing this because the bootloader is locked on the US phones, but unsure what this would benefit on a International model G950FD. Maybe it just means that this S8 does not have RMM or KG State to be prenormal? Like ever maybe, even if I factory reset.
I know this is a bit late, but I have a US note 20 ultra that also says this on the download screen. I recieved the phone about 3 months before the note 20 actually came out.

losing my mind

Iv searched and searched and tryed every different method I can think of.
Iv got a tab a sm-t580 that's got frp locked.
Iv tryed all the ways it says about downloading apps but can't access chrome at all from the setup screens.
OTG doesn't seem to work
Iv tryed flashing with Odin but it still comes up with the lock....
Anyone.... Help please before I just give in and have it as frisbee
Have you tried going into Developer Options and enabling OEM Unlock?
Did you flash your phone when it has been encrypted?
Did you try this? or this one
