Indians are trying to get Android N named after a Kerala sweet dish - XDA-developer encyclopedia

When Google announced it’s latest Android OS at I/O 2016, they said that, as usual, they were having some trouble coming up with a dessert-themed name for it. So, the company asked the public for suggestions to name Android N.
As such it appears we’re looking at a major push from Indian users to get the OS named after a local dessert. Bangalore-based app developer and Android user Arun Kumar is trying to motivate Indians to suggest Android Neyyappam as the name for Google’s newest smartphone OS. There’s an entire website dedicated to the petition, as well a Twitter handle making the call to action. And it looks like a lot of people are about to get on board. The Kerala Tourism Board has also gotten in on the action, asking people to support Android Neyyappam as the new name.
Google has launched a microsite to accept suggestions for the new OS name, the only limitations being that the name has to be of a dessert or candy, and that it start with the letter N, as follows the tradition with every Android OS like KitKat, Lollipop and then Marshmallow.
But whether or not you’re looking to support #AndroidNeyyappam, remember that window closes at 12:29pm June 9. And, of course, Google reserves the right to pick the final name, so there’s no guarantee that even major support for one name will have it win. But hey, putting in a suggestion is worth a shot.

[Q] Edit or something to keep phone on LTE/GSM?

Is there an edit in build.prop or some other way to keep the phone from switching back to global after a reboot? I seem to notice that radio switching is horribly slow when on global, but if I use the dial code to go into phone settings and change to LTE/GSM (auto prl), I don't get the lag in switching. Thanks for any help.

Could you be more specific, please? So after a reboot your settings stick? That is the question here.
Yes they stick. Perhaps your carrier wants them set a certain way.

It's possible. I have Verizon's cousin, big blue. AT&T. ?
Are you rebooting often? Perhaps tasker can set it for you on boot.

I don't reboot often, but when I do, I forget to change it in the hidden menu you are mentioning. *#*#4636#*#*

Android Nougat rollout re-starts for Xperia Z5, Z3 Plus and Z4 Tablet (32.3.A.0.376)

Sony Mobile has re-commenced the Android 7.0 Nougat firmware rollout for the Xperia Z5 series, the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet. New firmware build 32.3.A.0.376 hopefully fixes all of the bugs found in the previous Nougat release (32.3.A.0.372), which Sony had to suspend due to various issues, including audio playback via third-party apps.

what about battery and temp(heating)
Can anyone upload mixers_path.xml files (found inside /etc) from new build please ? I am looking for ways to optimize the sound controls if I can understand.
Thanks
Z3+
I really hated Android N on my E6533 (Z3+ Ds), the battery seems a lot worse, barely reaching 5:30 of SOT while on Marshmallow it reached 7.
There isn't anything different, except for a poorer stamina mode.
It is true that the cpu changed to Quad core

Any idea what update this is?
It's Nougat beta just as mine is. I haven't run it either. Still thinking about it. My phone is completely smooth right now. I need a very good reason to change anything.

[APP][6.0+][WIP] Gib update(r)

Hi ;-;
Summary:
A nice app to push out OTAs for independent kernel/rom maintainers and those peeps who push ci builds every 5 mins on telegram and expect you to install every build
To know more about this project read
https://github.com/alamo18/Updater/blob/master/README.md
Stalk the project
https://trello.com/b/8uUAlRlg/gib-updater
If you're wondering how my parents are gonna allow ne to buy a ssd with a petabyte of data for hosting the files, there will be no hosting provided. You do your own hosting and paste the direct download link in the json. When the app does it's check, and if the build number > the installed one, the app will do a multi-threaded download (like the one you see in ADM) to get the file, if the file is over 100mb, and do a md5 check if possible. Lastly, it will either help you install it(if you have root) or you have to manually do it yourself, a notification will popup. So there will be no downtimes unless your provider fails you.
This project is WIP, means everything is still in development, we are still testing the backend stuff. Appreciate PRs or any contributions given. Developers who intend to use this for pushing OTAs, you can pm me. For users who want their devices to be supported, fill in your device name and codename here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LTHMxTaEWG8kr0wFhXWKHhftQfZwZ2m2Ds1yL_P2rcY/edit?usp=drivesdk
Btw, the telegram grp here is t.me/gibbbbbb
We do some discussions there. Some UX concepts attached. Thanks Josh B for helping with the awesome UX concepts and Nicholas Chum for the repo drawing. The current logo for the project is written in josh(aka till) sans
For now, dont expect much progress, i need to study. I have exams, and the last paper is on 17 October. I can't code after the exam cuz i need to catch up on some gaming stuff, on 18th October(my 14th birthday) I'll start working intensively on this project.
Don't stalk my git please

[TESTING][KERNEL][10][UBER-TC] mistKernel for onyx

Introducing mistKernel for onyx. I have owned OPX from the launch and has loved it absolutely. I have a little knowledge in C/C++, bash and python. I made this kernel with the aim of providing alternatives. This kernel is highly based on @YumeMichi lineage-17.1 kernel and should be compatible with android 10 ROMs(including but possibly not restricted to). This is however my first shot at building kernels and I will keep on adding more features as time progresses. The kernel includes several new governors from franco and other kernels for msm8974 devices. The kernel should increase stablilty in android 10 ROMs.
Testers required
A few testers are required to test the kernel. Please PM me if interested.
@CrazyDevil16 We don't mind if possible testers show their interest here in the thread instead by private message. We also don't mind if a development and test discussion also occurs here instead via other means. Actually, we'd appreciate if this all happens on XDA in this thread.
Regards
Oswald Boelcke

Hello, I've deleted the download link that you shared. If a kernel is made available for download on XDA it has to comply with GPLv2 i.e. the kernel source must be linked. For further information about XDA's policy in regard to GPL, please refer to: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2645321.
Additionally if applicable, all necessary credits must be given in accordance with rule no. 12 of the XDA Forum Rules.

Important
I am really sorry. This is CrazyDevil16, this is my other account. I lost access to my google account(and hence the xda account with it). I am sorry for not including the kernel source in the OP.
Unfortunately, I dropped mistKernel for Onyx because of lack of response from the OPX community. And also due to xda restrictions I cannot post links linking out of xda in this reply.
The kernel source can be found on threads by @YumeMichi. The experimental kernel build that was up for testing can also be found with a google search for "mistKernel" [hosted on AFH by Kunal Gautam (my real name)].
My respects for this community and for OPX: I always loved being a part of this community, although mostly just being a ROM installer, I always thought about giving back to this community but by the time I was academically able to present my favors the community had already lost its essence. I, too, have upgraded to OP7 Pro for OPX now. But it was definitely worth my time here. A special moment of gratitude for those people who spelled this community its liveliness for solid 4.5yrs. :victory:
(CC: @ashwany.yadav, @Oswald Boelcke)
With this kernel, the set does not boot beyond 1+, bootloop.. (LineageOS 17.1 YumeMichi)
