When we get Marshmallow - Onetouch Idol 3 General

Just for fun, flame on/off, you decide it
-edit-
I posted this thread on reddit/idol3 and guess what, it's not there

the end of may is most likely to happen , but the beginning of june can be a valide option , either way its close to happen soon XXD
keep hopping !

I hope soon

I think this will heavily depend on the carrier.
For me and Bell Mobility in Canada.. They haven't released a single update since they launched the phone (not even a stagefright update) so I have ZERO confidence that I'll be seeing Marshmallow through any OTA's.

i have an unbranded western european 6039Y and so far all the usa & eastern european carrier locked devices got firmware updates months earlier.

According to Telus, May 31, so, hopefully, as Koodo is a Telus brand, I'll get it, too

so a carrier locked phone according to this screenshot will get the update on May 31... well, they say the update will come for unbranded devices first and then later to carrier locked phones, so the unbranded idols should get the update days or weeks before this date
or alcatel follows its way and at first releases updates on carrier locked devices and months later for unbranded ones
i have a bad feeling about this.

I just got my 6045I global unlocked from Amazon to replace my stolen 60450(Cricket) a week ago, and it came with pre-marshmallow firmware and latest security update already installed.... I know this because the first one was old stock and arrived with the seal broken,so I asked for replacement and was told I could use old one until new arrived. The first downloaded the updates(came from Amazon fulfillment Kentucky), and the second came from Los Angeles (fresh from port,I assume), and had those 2 updates already installed, and judging from IMEI's, the 2nd was NEW, so make of that what you will. Everything I've heard points to end of May/early June. I am hoping for sooner, as the lack of ad blocking, and hopefully much improved memory management is killing me! We shall see.

GREAT NEWS for all Motorola Milestone 2 A953 users!
Motorola Europe announced today (31 Augusut) that Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread upgrade will be available early Q4 of 2011!
Lets Celebrate!
I wonder how long a comment will last in there if I say something like "I'm already running 2.3.4 on mine and cant wait for some minor issues with CM7 to upgrade"
In the Official Forum:
"We can confirm that we expect the Android 2.3 upgrade for Milestone 2 users in Europe to begin rolling out in early Q4. More details on timing for each country will be shared closer to availability.
For LatAm users I don't have a similar confirmation at this time, however I will post additional information when I receive it.

For sure!!
I´m not a dev, but I´m a good test-user!!!
I bet there will be new problems to get root, to make backups, to flash CWM recovery... mmm... do not want to get back to stock
Perhaps, the official firmware might be useful to extract new kernel and hardware lib files and implement them into CM7/MIUI

if i remember correctyl, Moto made the statement that all future Releases will include the ability to unlock the bootloader. I think everything will be much easier by then.
The announcement started all new phones, not upgraded old phones. Has the Droid 2 been unlocked, as it upgrade is out?

I wouldn't be so sure, a tweet from Personal confirmed me that they were working on 2.3 (no dates given) and since Movistar already has a newer firmware (you are on version 2.2.2 and Personal is on 2.2) I think that if it comes it will come for all.
Just hoping...

But if they release it in Europe, wouldn't that mean that we (I mean you guys, you're the experts) can port it someway so we can still use it? I dont believe Personal is on a hurry for giving us 2.3 that fast.
In the Facebook fan page I found a post from the people who maintain it saying that they expect the release for late september / early october. That's within this month.

AT&T H810 Update 8/31 V10I

Looks like they kept their promise with the monthly updates.. At least they did for this month. AT&T is getting V10I pushed out today. At only 46.7MB, I doubt this will fix any of the major problems, other than stagefright.

This would be huge if it fixes the issues. Can't wait to hear from someone who takes the update
So two things need to be done about this:
A) Does the update break root/can the update be done with root.
B) Someone with the touch issues should take the update and see if it fixes said issues.
I'm almost positive that at a mere 46MB that this may not include said fixes, but it's worth checking out to see.

According to changelog only security update as promised by LG. I wouldn't search for any other changes if not listed. Or maybe LG never mentions all changes?

Do you even know how many versions of the G4 there are? H815, H811, H812 and a lot more.. It's not that easy to just code real quick to the newest versions.. Plus I have no memory or touch issues, maybe that's why I'm patient to wait for Marshmellow..

I'm not holding my breath for marshmallow, ATT won't roll that out until April, that's why they need to roll out 5.1.1 now! Really for crying out loud 5.1.1 was 2 months old when they released this thing. I'm going back to a nexus next time, screw this crap

Anyone have a guide on how to create a rooted system image for this update?
I actually do love this phone overall, sorry just annoyed. Really thought 5.1.1r6 would be how they delivered the stage fright fix. As a former nexus 5 user and current nexus 7 user, every version of lollipop before 5.1.1 is garbage from my experience. Keep you device on for more than 24 hours and the system starts going haywire and randomly killing processes. And no I never had any touchscreen issues. I checked out the optimus G, g2, and g3s update history before I bought this and unless at&t decides to give their update department speed, don't except a major OS update until the nearest April after it releases

The International model has been stuck on V20D for quite some time now. Seeing that new firmware is released for a lot of countries with updated security and stuff makes me think we'll get an update soon (crossed fingers!).
I'm getting tired of waiting. When I bought LG G4, I was hoping for regular updates for flagship phone. I have updated my phone on 3.3.2016 and there were no updates since then. It is still on v20d! Terrible support! Half of a year with 01-01 security update! Really safe and funny. These regionals updates are not smart and are not good. They should have push now firmware for everyone, not just for selected countries! I'm angry!
Why exactly we still didn't get 6.0.1? Are they planning to skip it and go straight to N?

Well considering how they ignored M they must release N even thought official support ends in August.
If they don't release N they must release latest available M 6.0.1 revision...
They are doing something but this is like one time a year and not a major updates, for flagship I think this is a joke if you compare it to how iPhones get updates...
P.S. I just checked that iPhone 5s which is even older than G4 have received latest iOS update long time ago really makes me wonder what is happening with android and OEMs...

You can't compare LG with Apple. You can compare Nexus phones with iPhones though. And you can see older phones getting new updates as well.
As for Android N, it'll be released officially this Fall, so OEMs have a lot of time to prepare for it. But LG has really had bad support all over the place.

Mhh, i think that i will wait June Security Patch to update (has G5 been updated to june patch?)
I keep getting"unfortunately app updates have stopped" popping up all the time.. Other than that seems good.

Got the OTA update to Nougat last night!

Came here to see what everyone else thinks of the update, but no one else seems to be talking about it. Did anyone else get updated?
For reference, I'm using a FRD-L04 on AT&T in the USA. I'm currently on build FRD-L04C567B360. I'm not rooted or anything, just got the phone a month ago.
I didn't do anything to get the update, (not even manually running the updater) just got a notification that the software update was available.
It's been fantastic so far. I felt that EMUI 4 was slick and quick but this feels even faster and smoother. Very happy so far but it's only been a few hours. (went to bed shortly after upgrading)

Message app pops up in apps and you can reply. Unfortunately it doesn't work on the lock screen.

I was also able to get the EMUI5/Nougat upgrade through HiCare under the "early adopter" section. I'm in Finland and have L19 (the 64GB dual-SIM version).
Based on what I read, the early adopter program is not a beta program, but just the first bunch to receive the official upgrade?
Haven't installed the upgrade yet, have to first backup and charge the phone.

I would say it's more like release candidate. Under the early adopter section I have a comment that "some of the updates doesn't have official status and could be still not stable". Anyway, enjoy. It brings this much needed UI refresh
Where can I find the early adopter section in the hicare app?
after the update the screen off and lock is not working anymore, if you lock with the app you must enter password to unlock
in the app it's under Service, Os update and early adopters, make sure you have the latest version of Hicare from the Playstore also,.
Hej everyone...
Same happened to me today morning...i've got notification then OTA update is ready to download...
I'm in Sweden, not rooted, locked bootloader...
Thanks, that's what I thought. Of course it's useless to have an early adopter program if you are forced to release the same version to the others anyway. You have to have an option to fix bugs if major showstoppers arise.
Did the upgrade, everything went smoothly.
I was pleasantly surprised that the upgrade still has Huawei Swype keyboard as an option in addition to Swiftkey. I use Swype on all my mobile devices, now I don't have to install it separately.

Hi guys, I got the 360 update this morning.
Its not the official N update im on the beta N uk program.
I was intouch with honor UK early this week and he said that we would get another beta update before the official N release.
As you can see from the screen shots this update was only nearly 500mb.
I'm not sure if they are doing different things in different countries but this is what's happening in the UK

Yes I get that but I spoke to a Honor rep on Google + on Monday and he said that we was getting one more update on the beta before the Official N release in Feb.
I think that they must be doing very different things in different countries

Hey there, I'm using N920I Singapore variant too! It's sad that no security updates were rolled out to our phones after October 2016, but I think the Nougat update should arrive real soon perhaps in 2-3 weeks? Because I remember the Marshmallow update was rolled out around 20-30 April....and I check for updates nearly 4 times a day just to hope for Nougat

as I can remember, Singapore variant will be the last to get the update because Singapore variant or the N920I model get marshmallow update in the end of April of 2016 so there's a chance that in the end of April we will get the update.
Good news N920I users. Samung might be pushing an update in the first week of the may.

It's looks like we won't get the update this week I feel so sad and desperate
Is there a way to install (odin) the nougat firmware of a other build , like the sm-n920c on this version? Then all the waiting can stop
@Crowbar Asdfghjkl @nathantj @eclipse662 see this guys.

But, who is Jonathan? is he working for Samsung Singapore? or what? How is he so sure ?
don't know who these guys are (seems to be a Singapore Samsung forum). Indicates Mid-Mary

I have an Aus Note 5. Assume I would be in the same general update cycle as Singapore? Not sure if this is accurate.

Well if they are really connected to Samsung Singapore and are working on the issues then I'll wait for the update and yes if N920I get the update then all the variant will get the update include Australia, Singapore etc...
Bad news guys
