Verizon data - Nexus 6 General

Can someone try this zip for Verizon on that you can not get data on? I am not on Verizon but just trying to help out. This has to flahsed with a clean flash and at the same time as you flash the ROM. So flash ROM ....gapps.....data zip and then whatever else you want. Hope it works. Its just a stock apns_conf.XML from stock Verizon and made it into a zip. Real simple but hope it works.

Thank you for this. I've been running stock happily because of the reports of data issues on cm12 based roms. Aosp rom that I've tried worked fine. I don't want to chance messing things up having to flash the factory image to get data back honestly or I'd give it a shot right away. Downloaded it just in case people report good results.

Really, I am nowhere near a dev. Just a real possible simple fix converted into a flashable. I am on sprint and sprint data is a son of a gun. Sprint fix is the same file but with sprint apns. And I was just thinking that it would work for Verizon with the Verizon apns. Just trying to help.

Appreciate that. Especially since you're not even on Verizon. It's hard alot of times to find people that want to help especially when its not their problem on their device. So I applaud the effort. If I get a chance and feel like a risk-taker I'll try it lol. If not when I see someone mention the data issue again I'll direct them to your thread.

Samsung warranty after root/recovery/ROM?

After installing CWM recovery, kernel, root, and CM7 on a Vzw Tab, is it possible to fully restore it back to stock so that Samsung will honor the warranty?
Friend of mine's Tab is having some screen issues and the warranty expires in about two weeks.
Is it possible or is he SOL?
Thanks

Yes he can. There is a stock ROM EC02 that is flashable using a program called Heimdall. It takes you back so Verizon would never know.

I saw some posts about stock ROMs floating around, but wasn't sure that the kernel, recovery, and EXT4 could all be restored back to stock.

I have an AT&T Galaxy Tab and that link doesn't work for me. I've tried everything I possibly could to try to get this thing back to something I can use that doesn't reboot when I try to use the keyboard. I've done search after search and it never provides me with any information that's helpful to getting it back to a workable condition. I've come across the link above numerous times and I've tried to use those instructions over and over with no success.
I really think it's worth pointing out that constantly pointing people to these directions isn't helpful to those trying to restore a non-Verizon Tab. It's done zero good to me with my AT&T Tab.

But I clearly asked about a Verizon Tab and he replied with Verizon Tab-related info. That's a helpful thing.
On the other issue, the last thing you want to do with an AT&T Tab is try and use CDMA (Verizon/Sprint) ROMs. This is probably why your Tab is screwed.
Stick to GSM/ATT ROMs and you'll probably have better luck.
I've tried to find AT&T ROMs and none have worked so far.
Every time I search on this subject here I get sent to the Verizon fix.
I had the same problem, for some reason the older versions of Android that was posted on here haven't worked for me. Pretty much all the links provided in the instruction posts on turning the tab into a phone had Froyo 2.2 links. However I downloaded the Gingerbread rom 2.3.3 and flashed it and it works now:

[Q] Stock Unrooted Flashable ROM

Does anyone know of a stock flashable ROM without Root and Busybox?
I'm aware of the thread guiding people on going back to factory but I don't want to do that. I want to be able to just flash a Rooted ROM if I want one and flash back to standard unrooted if I want using TWRP.
My reason behind this that I spend a lot of time on the train at the minute so decided to get Sky Go. Unfortunately it detects that the device is rooted and won't run.
There are a few threads around the net with scripts and suggestions but nothing seems to work for me.
I don't think there are any..... Hmmm.

You can flash the stock ROM with fastboot but not from within recovery. Get it here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
I could make one I suppose, wouldn't take long at all...

If you could do that it would be great.
I was just looking at the tutorial to bake it myself but having issues with Cygwin. Much quicker and easier if you did it.
Owe you one.
I use Linux so it won't take long. You literally want a flashable stock ROM, no changes whatsoever?

Exactly. I use a standard stock rooted ROM usually.
Just realised I don't actually use root for anything at the minute but likely will do in the future.
Thanks again.
I'll try and do it this afternoon but if not this evening once back at home

Very cool that you've done this, but I should give a word of caution: there are some problems that wiping via fastboot will fix, but installing a flashable stock .zip won't fix. For example, when a 16GB phone thinks it's only 8GB. (I have reason to believe that there are other problems that can only be fixed in this way, but I can't prove it. :silly
That's not something the OP cared about, he just needed to 'unroot' to use a TV app that checks for root access
He should give this app a try

I tried that.
I tried a script that was published on the net to remove root and busybox.
I tried removing root and busybox manually.
I tried flashing stock kernal
I tried several other apps.
A flashable stock rom was my last resort as I was under the impression that I'd need to wipe and I didn't want to do that. I just tried it without wiping on the off chance that it worked and it did, so problem solved.
None of my Apps were using Root so I thought I'd get rid of it completely but wanted the option to flash CM10.1 once Bluetooth MAP profile is fixed and working without having to go through putting TWRP on again.
It's all in the OP and posts following that.
EddyOS saw what I was after and offered to help. He's a great dude.
Just for learning purposes, how come no one has made a flashable stock zip until now? Wouldn't it just be like any custom rom but instead its just stock?

[Q] KitKat Rom on T Mobile Lg G2

I've tried this two times and both I had the same result. I downgraded back to 4.2.2 with the D80110g_00.kdz for the tmobile g2. Then I rerooted it and added philz touch recovery. I flashed with the kitkat baseband in the cloudystock 1.1 fourm, then the rom with the patched 801 kernel after. Everything boot's up ok, and the phone works. But when I turn off the screen and back on its all grayed out with yellow lines. I have the reboot the phone for the screen to show up again. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Do the same process except do not use 80110g. Find the 80110c kdz.

Thank you, that fixed the problem. Another question I have is that when I flash the baseband, do I have to keep reflashing it when I move to another kitkat rom?

Doesn't seem like you are flashing in wrong order. If you boot up and everything runs...it's probably just due to the fact this isn't an official release and there may be bugs

same issue here. Cannot run any stock KK roms at all. I've flashed so many times and have had to return to stock. I wish this problem could be identified.
Did anyone out there figure this out?
I'm having the same problem on my device, tried several stock ROMs but nothing works even when using different basebands.
I have this problem as well and no, you're not doing anything wrong. Devs have absolutely no idea why this is happening. It seems that this is only happening with users that bought the phone and have the G build pre-installed. People that bought the phone earlier with the C build don't have this problem.
I gave up and just flashed the official KK TMO ROM with root installed. I lost my recovery but hopefully devs can get recovery on stock KK. If anything, I can always KDZ back to 4.2.2 and re-install the recovery if I want to go back to AOSP ROM's.
FWIW, I bought the G2 a week ago. When did you get yours?
I think you hit the nail on the head with G build comment. I got my phone about a month ago from TMO and it came pre-installed. I wonder if something in the actual hardware is ever so slightly different with the latest G2s...
I flashed with the C build and it didn't fix it also, guess I'll stay on 4.2.2 till there is a official kitkat root.
Anyone around in this thread with the line problem willing to test a kernel?

How do you find if you have G or C build? I thought all tmobile g2's are c build. I am getting mine tomorrow, hope it is shipped with JB rom - if so, i think it will be better to stay. After reading a bit, i heard many say tot method is working fine as explained here.
Which rom (xd thread?) are you using? Does wifi calling work?

If you go to software you can see the build, it either ends with C or D. Most likely D since you'll just be getting it. And it will be JB not KK. There's a new AutoRec file that gives KK users recovery, but since you'll be getting the D version, you'll most likely have the white line glitch issue. There's a way around it, just PM me for further questions and I'll help ya out.

It does seem confusing, but I promise you that it's a bit more painless than you think. I'm assuming your phone did indeed ship with TMO KitKat? Then in that case, once you're done rooting, all you have to do is install the AutoRec apk and that's it! Let me know if you need a link for AutoRec.

Mackster I'm on 4.2.2 which is rooted, is there anyway I could use a custom kitkat rom without getting the white lines? I dont want to keep downgrading everytime it happens.

S3 to d4....everything's different and I'm scared!

Not really scared lol. Last phone I had anything custom on was the s3. Looking around it's obvious things don't work the same.
Only thing I have done with this s4 is root. Now I'm wanting to run a rom without all the extra att bloat. So just wondering what rom and recovery I should go with. I have Nl1 if it matters.
I want the bloat gone but still have the fancy features. Any input is appreciated!

Lots to read. But, in case it isn't immediately obviuos, you will need SafeStrap and its recovery. You will only be able to run, for the most part, TouchWiz roms. No custom recoveries or kernels.
Yeaaa lot of reading done after posting lol. Got safestrap running and recovery. Decided on the golden eye rom. For some reason I lose imei. Created a new Rom slot for it and flashed the module after the rom.
Had this issue on the s3 but can't remember what I did to fix it. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

T_T I'm not sure of what to search for. For branded roms it's relatively easy, but as an INT'L ROM I'm not sure if my process would work. So it's just some obscure file? I was thinking it may be because I flashed something wrong. No chance you can remember where you think you may have seen it? Like xda or another site?

I have been trying my hardest, asking on every forum i can find, to find out how to get the beta release of emotion kernel R24 for N910T. Not one single response.....but anyway. It is my understanding that the latest release of Emotion Revolution rom has r24 kernel as an option in aroma. My question is this; would it be possible to unzip the R23 kernel zip for N910T and replace only the R24 boot image from the emotion rom and leave all the other system files. Or would that be a really bad idea? Ha. I just want the kernel on Tekhds URv7. I know this is possible a really stupid question but I'm just now beginning to learn all the technical details of these things. And I will say ahead of time that any answer will be beneficial because I don't know much about how a N910T kernel differs from international as far as data is concerned or what the fix actually fixes when you flash it. But if it has any relwvance my phone is carrier unlocked and i dont even use tmobile. My goal is to learn something new everyday without hard bricking my baby like I did my N900A. I'm not by any means new to rooting but am very new to having a device that I can actually play with. Thanks in advance and us noobies appreciate everybodys patience.
