Hello all. So I use my Nexus 4 as an internet device. I've been doing this for about a month, but today, my N4 is unresponsive on the internet. My WiFi is working, I can connect with my N5, N7 and my PC. Certain websites will eventually load, but not all. And some that load will display a blank screen with the website address in the address bar. I have rebooted several times. I toggled WiFi on/off. But it still will not load. Will this require a manufacturer reset? Thanks for any advice.
First try another browser. How about dolphin or chrome browser?

Google play is also unresponsive. The loading circle just spins. Earlier there was an app trying to update, got to 90% then stopped. It eventually did update though.

Im using my Nexus 5 as my main squeeze right now. The Nexus 4 is just another internet device when my N7 drops low on battery.
I want to confirm if there is something wrong with your radio signal. Maybe it isnt just your wifi.

I believe you were spot on about that. I tried calling and SMS, all worked but still no WiFi activity. I did as you suggested and so far it worked. Thank you. Its just odd how all of my devices worked on my WiFi, but not my N4. Odd.

Hi Guys,
I have a question about the update to version 4.1.2.
When I go to Settings > About > System update, I see that the update to 4.1.2 is found but it says that it is waiting to download but it stays like that forever and nothing happens.
Has anyone else seen such behavior? Do you know why it is happening and if it is normal?
Thanks!
Maybe a stupid question but... are you connected to WiFi when you see the message?

Make sure you have a good WiFi connection. The WiFi in my dorm shows a good connection (String signal) but the internet can sometimes timeout easily. Make sure your connection to the internet is superb.

Yes, I know what the arrows mean but my question is why this is happening? Is there a way for me to force the download? Or maybe I just have to wait more (it's been like this since yesterday)?
Try powering off the Nexus and then starting it up again. If that doesn't work, try using the technique to trick it into updating mentioned in this thread (yes, it's for a different situation but still worth a shot)

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. I tried powering off and on and it didn't work.
Then I tried the method to force stop the Google Services Framework and when I went to the System updates screen, I had the option to check for updates. I checked and I am back to where I was before - the update shows but is only "waiting to download"

Anyway, I could not find a solution, so I rooted and installed CM10, so no issue for me anymore.

I'm having this issue:
Wifi will drop connection after a period of time when the screen turn off and when it enter in deep sleep (some seconds after the screen is turned off). Shows normal signal strength but I dont receive the notifications (whatsapp, maildroid, etc, etc)
With mobile network does not happens.
If you want to try this issue, turn off the screen, wait 1 minute and send from other phone a whatsapp message to the G2, in my case the notification will never appear.
How many of you has this issue?
It happened in Nexus 4 and seems is happening in Nexus 5

Maybe it's your router timing out and losing it upon reconnecting (stuck in connected state)? I once had that problem on my Spectrum and know it was a part android issue. Had to set a static ip between router and phone. Issue disappeared when I went to CM. No issue on my G2 with "shadow connections" or disconnects.
check your battery saving settings, with one setting, switch off radios when not using this occured

First, pure stock and had the issue, now Rayglobe and the same issue... I dont know if its a fault of the 802B ROM, I want to understand this.
If the battery charger is attached to the phone, there is no issue...
I can't wrap my head around it. Tried and not having issue plugged in or not. Try the static ip. I had the issue with my Spectrum ONLY on my last router with many other devices connected. The hardware and software combo just didn't get along dynamically. That device was the last I have seen the issue.

Has anyone had issues casting Google Play Music with the LG G2?
I have a Verizon LG G2 and can connect and start casting music just fine, but about 20 seconds after the phones screen goes off the music stops. My Nexus 10 has no problems, as did my GS3.
I've searched the web far and wide for solutions with no luck and even asked Google themselves for help but they were useless. Any suggestions?
PS: Not using any battery saving settings or task killers.

Posted this same question on Reddit and user bradlove17 came up with a solution...
Basically, you download an app called "REGPON wifi KeepAlive" and you'll be good to go! Seems like the problem is Wifi not staying on when the screen is off despite what you have set in Wifi settings. This definitely solves the problem.

I cannot seem to fix it. I have searched threads here and on other forums, poked around the Google forums and I have tried everything mentioned and I cannot get it to go away. It comes and goes at random too. I have yet to flash an older radio, if anyone could provide me with one then I could give that a shot, but I cannot believe that I am in the minority here.

That's means your router has no Internet not the phone. It's your WiFi router losing its Internet connection. Without seeing your setup I can only speculate as to the exact issue.

There are 2 problems with that. All my computers and other phones in the house do not have this problem, so it definitely is not the router. Also, I am not always connected to my home router. I will be on my commute to work (no wifi) and it will happen. Hell, it will happen AT work and we have an enterprise network with update to date Cisco switches and APs.

Funny thing is, I am back to unrooted stock and it instantly goes away. I was having the issue last night and into this morning on my home Wifi, on my way to work, then at work on LTE and when on the Wifi. I reverted the phone back to stock and now all is well. Why would a custom rom have something to do with not connecting to Google Services??

There could be many reasons. Custom Roms are modified and usually have custom kernels. Lots of stuff can go wrong. It's the risk of flashing custom Roms. I find with the 6p, stock rooted is the best. There isn't anything you can't do between xposed and root access. Each time I try a rom I have radio issues to be honest. I just stay stock.
That's a good call. Really the only thing I want root for is theming and double tap to wake, both can be achieved without custom rom (I believe)
Although I use Android Pay and even with systemless root, I am unable to get it to work....So maybe I should stay stock for awhile, but that is for another thread.
Appreciate your help, Gizmoe!

I think Google has updated the safetynet API that prevents Android Pay working with Systemless root. I had it working until the latest update of Android Pay.

Yes, it was. I have reverted back to stock unrooted and I am no longer having the issue. I did not want to do this, but unfortunately I have to actually use my phone as a phone and need the basic functionality that I was losing with the continuous issue.

I suggest trying another rom and testing that out. May help you isolate the problem. Perhaps its has to do with 2.4 ghz vs. 5.0 ghz Wi-Fi networks, either can be forced in Wi-Fi settings. Or it may be a conflict with a mod in Pure Nexus if this does not occur on another rom.

I would have never though that this is why it stopped on my phone. I did it quite different purpose. ?
I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one having this issue after updating to B03, even though the change log mentions that this issue is resolved. I've tried a factory reset and APN deletion as suggested but it doesn't help. I've moved from a OP3 to the Axon 7 recently (very difficult decision) and as much as I like to tinker with my phones, I suppose the EU folks have to be patient to enjoy the true potential of this device.
Hoping this issue gets a workaround or the next update fixes it. For now, assuming this flickering takes up battery, I've just disabled mobile data from the quick toggle.
P.S. Iv'e tested it and I'm pretty certain that it doesn't indicate that the Wi-Fi is continuously disconnecting. It's just the icons acting up. Also, no mobile data is used while this happens.

May I ask how you delete the APN? The only one I have is greyed out and I can't seen to delete it. I created another one and mirrored the settings from the original which seemed to do the trick but alas I was wrong.
I have the US version but flashed B03 onto so I could enable the on-screen sift keys with Gravity box.
Thanks!

This is such an annoying issue to have. I initially thought this takes no battery being just a cosmetic and not a functionality issue but I'm inclining to believe that it is actually switching to mobile network and back. Can anyone confirm this?
