If I already did not have a 2014 I would be considering this option, remember........
It only has a 90 day warranty but you could purchase a 2 yr warranty with accident protection on the 16gb version for $45.96 at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004M5QPDK/ref=twister_B00EVEFQTQ
Yes, you can share your apps and games from Google play that you have already purchased on your account for free as long as the app is compatible with the new device.

ok thats cool that i could do same things on both and can i send txt`s from tablet?
I wonder if these are all those ones with bluetooth connection problems that have been returned.
If so, and assuming bluetooth now works, I'd certainly be happy to buy one. In some ways a long warranty is a burden with these things; it makes you hesitant to root the thing.
I would just use it to death for the first little while. Most hardware faults will be obvious well before 90 days are up.

You would use it a bit without rooting it, be patient, and root it when you've had it a few weeks and used it hard.

No not better, the same but "Bigger".
The NotePRO is just 2 inches bigger than the Note 2014 with all the same specs Including S-Pen and the TabPRO is same as Note series just minus S-Pen and S-Pen features of course.
It's like a tape on repeat explaining the difference between the devices haha

I own a GT-N8013 and a SM-P600......
The 2014's screen is very nice, it's thinner and lighter, like the screen sleep and awake by opening the case, loving WiFi with AC connectivity.
I like it but I don't think I'm enjoying the experience as much because after having a GT-N8013 for a year there is a bit of a learning curve. The location of the buttons throws me off a little but I'm starting to get the hang of it.
Don't like the much thinner stylus, it feels like it will break it's so thin.
I guess I do like it but I would not recommend for someone to dump there old version Note 10.1 for the 2014 edition just to get the screen.

Hi dear,
I'm going to get either Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Note.
The price difference between them is quite big..
GS2 is 730 NZD and Galaxy Note is 1199 NZD(as its just released?)
Do you think galaxy note has that much worthy?
What do think guys?
Hi,
I think it depends on what you want. I have my Note since todays morning and I can say its more of a small tablet than a mobile phone.
I like it relay much because I use it mainly as a internet device as I did with my nexus one before.
Try to get hands on both devices and decide after that.

I got the note for 550 euro (950~ nzd) so not sure where you get the huge price tag from. I have both the G2 and the Note and no matter what you use it for the Note is better. The huge screen is so pleasant for anything and if you do not own a tablet it is definitely worth it the extra 150~ euro.

There is only one shop selling note.
Probably I shouldn't purchase anytime soon..
And I own iPad 2 so.. Probably better wait until ppl review..
Also I saw the ICS will come to Note and S2 between in April and June next year.
It's my biggest concern... Should I get galaxy nexus?
Which is faster
I want to compare them from the performance point of view which is faster?

what about the performance which one is better
Note has a faster processor so in benchmarks it's faster. Thing is both are so fast I doubt it matters. Maybe ICS has higher hardware requirements and then the notes processor upgrade might help.

In fact, they use exactly the same processor, the only difference is that on note the voltage is higher so you can get a little more mhz at the cost of battery. The SII with any mod can have the same speed.

Welcome fellow Kiwi!
I assume you are looking at MobiCity for that $1200 ($1180 right this second) pricetag? For comparison, the Galaxy SII was $1120 on day one from MobiCity, so it's not that bad.
Buuut, you can order it from Expansys for NZ$1,074 shipped and save a hundred bucks.
Basically, if you like big screens and styli, the Note blows away the SII. If you really don't mind the screen size/res, then it's just a jumbo-sized SII with a CPU speed bump to match.

Hello mate!
But I'm not Kiwi. I'm Korean who is just studying in NZ
anyway, thank you for welcoming! haha
The shop I reserve for Galaxy Note is H2phone, not mobicity.
I saw that if I ordered it from mobicity, I might have to pay for tax to NZ custom.. so I would be around 1300!! Too expensive
Actually, yeah Note is more attractive to me than GS II due to the screen resolution and slightly different design!

Even if you're not born a Kiwi, I can still claim you for our country's forum representation.
Never heard of H2Phone, actually. It was $1199 on Mobicity a day or two ago, so I assumed that was where you got the price. You make a good point about GST though. Including GST, the Expansys price is about $1235 shipped, and Clove would be about $1160. Pity I'm based in Christchurch - I'd love to be able to grab one for an even $1200 from H2Phone.
And yes, the gigantic screen on the Note is a major factor - since it would effectively replace a tablet too, and has pen input, I'm willing to shell out a bit more for it, $1200 is about my limit though. Unless the 32GB Galaxy Nexus ends up being considerably cheaper.

You are so sweet! Thanks for good info.
I found one auction on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/32078378918...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1287
It is selling Galaxy Nexus 32gb for only 640 USD including shipping!!!
I think I'd better wait for it.. but one problem is that
I'm going back to my home country, Korea on the 8th of Nov so
If I can't get it before the 8th, I won't be able to get it this year...t.t
as I do not want my parents to know that I spent too much money for a phone haha
anyway.... I also think the S-pen is so unique and worthy with GNote but the price..... I guess it will be dramatically dropped once I will be back to NZ.
What do you think mate?
If you were me, what would you do?
Get galaxy note on Monday morning or order galaxy nexus to Korea?
one more option... getting iPhone 4S?
Please advice me fellow!

I'd get the Galaxy Note.
At the moment, no one really knows how much the 32GB (or even 16GB) Nexus will cost, but it will probably be about NZ$1100-1150 since the 16GB model is being pegged at $1040, and won't be out for at least 3 weeks.
The Note has a bigger screen, higher res, (probably) faster CPU+GPU, and pen input for about $50 more. Not to mention dedicated buttons on the Note so you have more usable screen space all of the time.
On the other hand, the Nexus has Ice Cream Sandwich now instead of 2-3 months from now, and faster updates, it has a faster camera and.. that's about it. Unless the price comes out significantly cheaper than the Note, the Note is the better buy to me.
As for the iPhone 4S, it has a 3.5" screen. You can't get anything done on such a tiny, girly screen.
Sjael: Cool!
I made my decision. Tomorrow morning I'm gonna get Note
Yeah in terms of the spec of the Note, 2-3months or even longer doesn't really matter for ICS. Anyway it'll be surely getting it and it will look gorgeous on Note!
I have purchased so many apps in AppStore that's why I was considering to get iPhone 4s but I have iPad 2 so it'll be okay.
Thank you for really helpful advice Sjael!
Hope we can see in NZ some time soon

Hey, I have one question..
In the other thread, the owners of GNote said it's laggy compared to Galaxy S2, is it right?
And as I said before, i play Internet with my phone quite often so the size of the Note doesn't really matter to me.
Please just let me know if it's too buggy and slower than galaxy s2.

Unfortunately it's not so easy to try it first in New Zealand, where phones typically come out 9-12 months later (if at all) than in the US/Europe, unless you import them.

I'd love to get the Galaxy Tab 7.7 personally, the AMOLED screen looks great and it's still portable enough.
Price is very high though.
As for the screen, I'd buy a replacement from Ebay and fix it myself, if that is too scary, you could try a phone repair shop or something.

Agreed.
I Googled it for a laugh and saw prices of over £550
...too rich for me at the moment
I'd recommend the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. It doesn't have the AMOLED screen of the 7.7, but it's wifi, off contract, has a microSD slot, and for $400 is a good price. I currently purchased the 7.0 plus to take the place of my aging OG Galaxy Tab and I'm extremely happy. It's like my 10.1, but smaller!
Hi,
I'm actually searching a new tab too.
I have seen the Acer iconia tab A100.
But I fear that the battery will drain too fast ...
In addition I think that the screen of the A100 is worst than the galaxy tab.
I have seen the galaxy tab 8.9 but it's not the same budget ...
I would also prefer the galaxy tab 7.7 for me it would be the perfect size. But its not available in germany and toooo expensive. Otherwise it would allready be mine

psssss....Amazon has them for $350 (The 7.0+'s I mean)
I am thinking of a buying a Galaxy Tab 10.1. The asking price is $300 obo so it is negotiable. Is this a good decision or not?
I am rather uninformed about the current tablet scene so any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
No. Google has just announced the Nexus 10 which is $399 for the 16GB version. The seller is likely trying to sell now so they can trade up before people jump on the current round of new devices and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is worth even less.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is outdated already and Samsung will not be providing anymore software updates for it. (Although I'm sure there will be people saying that it's not 100% certain and their web petitions may cause Samsung to miraculously change their minds and spend more money on getting Android 4.1 released to this device)
Nexus 10. Dream tablet.

Another nexus 10 recommendation, unless its too expensive (I'd recommend waiting and saving up for the difference if money is an issue) or if you must have mobile data on your tablet (if you can tether from your phone this isn't an issue, or if you will always have an available wifi connection).
No way...go for the Nexus 10.

The tab 10.1 will likely not be getting official jelly bean + The screen is not as good as other offerings right now. I think the nexus 10 with its much better screen, and straight from google updates is a much better device for $100 more. Also, where do you live? Used 16 gb tab 10.1s can be had for under $250 off Kijiji in most Canadian cities, and I'd bet it's similar in the states.
Asking $300? Ask him/her if u can punch them in the mouth for offering it @ such a silly price! For that, you might as well spend a few more bucks and buy it retail so you get a warranty with it. On eBay, most working 1st gen S.G 10.1 tabs average between $200-250, depending on the condition and what comes with it. Or you can do what I did and buy a broken one and repair it yourself.
I bought one with a broken screen on eBay for $99 + s/h. Ordered a new LCD for $55 and digitizer for $22 which totals about $175 that I spent on the tab.. which beats buying a working one for more than what it's worth. The 1st generation tab is still a good pick, better than the 2nd gen some say, as long as you're rooted w/ a custom rom and o/c capable kernel installed.
So, if you really want a 1st gen. galaxy tab 10.1, I'd say offer him $200. Otherwise, try eBay or hold out for something better, like mentioned above.

You would have to troubleshoot on your laptop as well. Like reinstalling drivers and such if you didn't attempt that.
Back when it was released it was a good tablet. But with very bad support from Samsung, it lost it's grip.

The description just says Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 32gb NEW and the photo is a 2014 32gb box front and back photo of the box. Description had no part or sku number. I think the auction does have some holes so it should not be a problem filing a complaint with Ebay for a total refund. The sellers does have a15 day return policy so my gamble is slim.
I may not even keep it but resell if it truly is the 2014 model as I'm very happy with my G-Note GT-N8013 and I'm a little worried about all the issues that folks are venting about the 2014 edition on this site, personally I think most of the complaints are from people that like to complain.

A pretty rhetorical question, no? When the big brown (or white) truck drops it off and you open it if it's a shiny new Note 10.1 2014 32GB black that normally sells for $599 you got a great deal. If it's not you have weeks of arbitration ahead of you with eBay/PayPal trying to get your money back. With eBay and CL you spin the wheel and takes your chances. BTW, get third party insurance on it if you haven't already. Samsung doesn't warrant their products sold by non-authorized resellers.

I always purchase warranty with accident protection on all my tablets anyway as it's a good idea and it helps with resale after there a year old.
You are correct......... when big brown comes we will see if it's a fairy tale or a nightmare.
.
My fairy tale of a deal - New 32gb Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition in a seal box arrived today and I'm feeling pretty good about my decision to take a $459.99 gamble on it.
WOW.... Compared to my GT-N8013 the new 2014 edition has a very different feel, the footprint is much smaller, it's thinner, lighter and the screen is crazy crisp and clear.
When I read all of the post about the screen being so much better I thought people were just excited about there new purchase.
Well yeah now I see why they were excited because it is much nicer.

Happy for ya pal :good: - you'll enjoy this beast am sure.
NOT !!!
To make a long story short, The Tab Pro 8.4 is better than the Tab S 8.4
I made a switch to the Tab S because of the 3gb memory... well the thing lags a little compared to my previous Tab Pro.
I wanted Knox - the Tab S didn't have the container preinstalled and the Knox apk posted here in the forum does not work. And I can't find it on the Samung appstore either - yes I am not going to root this device.
Less bloatware - yes the Tab S has more bloatware and they can't be "stopped" like Evernote etc.
Better screen - as with my other Samsung Super Amoled devices, the screen looks pinkish and the bottom half is darker than the top half... This is a problem with the S4, Note 2, Note 3 which I had before (I must be the luckiest guy in the gadgetworld), and it really is annoying me especially at night when the screen is the only thing emitting light in my room which makes it very obvious.
Welcome home, tab pro !!!

I think if you can find a pro at the low price the choice is easy.

If you ever hope to do anything development related (like flash a custom ROM), avoid the S like the plague and get the Pro. "Custom ROM" and "Exynos chipset" don't belong in the same sentence anymore. The Pro 8.4 has a Qualcomm SnapDragon 800 and a bunch of custom ROMs already.

As long as it's "manufacturer" refurbished, you are good. I've purchased a few tablets/phones that were manufacturer refurbished, and all have been flawless and appeared brand new. They usually come with a limited warranty also (90 days) so that makes it a bit better. 3rd party refurbs can vary greatly in condition/quality.
I just picked up a manufacturer refurb tab pro 8.4 and it arrived yesterday. Came in a white samsung box, and again, it's physically flawless (not a single mark on the screen or back), and works great. I always root/unlock my android devices, so the factory warranty only lasts so long with me, which is why I buy used/refurbs a lot.

Yeah that's is basically what I always do when I get a new Android device, root that baby... now a found a used in mint conditions pro 8.4 but is running cm11.
Before I pull the plug want to know how easy is to Odin back to stock? I ask this because on my search for a stock rom I end up in some treads that said that they are stuck on a loop after trying to Odin back to stock.
Also I can't find a stock rom (odin) on this forum... can someone link the right tread if there is please.?
Thanks in advance.

Never had a problem when I used Odin to revert back to stock rom on my Pro 8.4, but the knox was still 0x1, but luckily no one checked when I returned mine, though it had a hardware fault so I returned it.

I went with the pro. The deal I got at the time made it a total no brainer. 250$ price from Best Buy plus a 50$ best buy gift card. Also got two 25$ Google Play codes. Basically got a brand new tab pro 8.4 for a whopping 150$....no way the Tab S is worth 400$.

The week before the tab S came out in retail, Best Buy slashed the price in stores to 249.99$, and for a couple of days, if you ordered it online you got a 50$ gift card sent to you too. It was a crazy deal.

Oh okay... I did some searching and found some deals related to this but already expired. boo hoo.
Not sure what I'm going to do if I'm going to just order another refurb or what. I originally got the GTP because it had infrared but it appears to be kinda proprietary and I'm not a fan of the application. I'll have to do some additional research to see if there are other customizable applications for total home theater control (including HTPC) to see if this model is even going to accomplish what I was hoping for. But getting it NEW for $250 would surely seal the deal for me!
For 8.4 model, Tab Pro is much better because 800 processor is better than Exynos.
For 10 model, they're draw.
AMOLED on Tab S looks better (less red tint) than 8.4, but keep in mind that Tab Pro does not have screen burn problem.
However, there's a minor feature on Tab S a lot of users overlooked: charging port. You can put the unit in landscape and charge.
