No signal in custom roms (maclaw, oliver)
Flash pit file and stock rom with odin And you need have root in your device, root explorer and have backup modemfs folder
(If you don't have backup : copy modemfs folder from your root folder to your sdcard)
Now Only extract (.zip) to see folder (modemfs) and move it to your root folder and it working perfectly
(It's working for i8190 )
And not working for (n,l) versions.
Pit file : removed
Modem folder : removed

Guys, BE EXTREMELLY CAREFULL when dealing with modemfs/efs. ALWAYS BACKUP FIRST. Both TWRP and CWM can backup modemfs/efs partitions.

Thanks!

Thank you! Is this TWRP-flashable even though the filename contains "CWM"? (At the risk of sounding stupid.)
Also, does one still have to flash the PIT file as hasdroid describes for i8190?

Answers to my own questions in case anyone else finds this useful:
- yes, you can flash this in TWRP.
- I personally didn't have to flash the PIT file.
Unbelievably grateful to hasdroid, piskor, and tys0n.

Thanks!!

Could you please make a step-by-step guide for backup of the modemfs folder?
I have root, but it gives me an empty folder...
and it would be great if you can make a flashable zip of the modemfs folder, like they did for N devices, because I think I don't have permissions to write in the system partition...
Thank you! and sorry for requests...

Here is flashable zip for flashing modemfs image to its partition for L model
thanx to @tenshi_xp who extracted modemfs.img from his phone

I noticed that it does. I won't say definitively until I've run this thru a few battery discharges first. It includes an updated kernel as well.

Not quite sure what you mean... This is the latest full stock ROM (not rooted), flashed with Odin using a standard procedure.

Couple of options come to mind... You can flash this stock 4.2.2, but you'll have to root it again afterwards (and install a custom recovery, if you want). Otherwise, you can go with MicroDelta by @Tsjoklat -- it's a very nice ROM, and the latest version of it is built on this exact base. It will be a full wipe in both scenarios, though.
ok so if a take this file and flash it with odin ill have to wipe the tab first ... or are you saying that the tab will automatically be wiped?
i dont have anything important on it so it doesnt really matter to much

If you flash this package via Odin, it will wipe everything -- you don't have to do it manually. It will also revert the recovery back to stock, if you have a custom one installed now.
Make sure you read carefully how to use Odin, if you haven't used it before -- there are ways to screw up your device pretty badly.

Which file? The actual Odin-flashable package linked in the OP? I don't know... It's in TAR format, but the extension is *.tar.md5, so your OS may not recognize it. But you don't need to unzip it -- Odin will process this file as is. It's a good idea to verify the MD5 checksum (it's on the download page) before flashing, to make sure your download is not corrupt.

ok so i downloaded the file and opened it .rar archiver to check the file and has a .tar.md5 file and .dll file.
ODIN wont recognize a .zip though and i get a file is invalid.
im gonna try the other method you mentioned.

[GUIDE][XSP 4.3][207]Adding recovery in custom roms

Hi friends and visitors, good'll teach you guys how to add custom roms recovery in a simple and fast mode. Works perfectly with me I put the same lines on my custom rom. I made this little guide for those who have doubts or for those who do not yet know how to add the functions.
I want to remember that this guide is not for roms with AROMA, only serves to roms without the aroma installer
Let's get to work :good:
*** First locate your rom in the META-INF folder some roms like mine you can add the folder or date kernel.

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
*** Located META-INF folder then open the folder and follow the process. See photo below
META-INF -- com -- google -- android
*** After locating the folders named in the above photo, you thought the following update-binary files and the update-script.
*** See the photo below for you to have as base and as my way of installation.
*** Place the recovery folder outside the system folder. Leave the folders as well as the image
*** Once you have made the entire process above, you can now create the zip of your rom or want to add something more and so add and finally create the zip and install. Below I will attach my update script to have a base and will also attach the folder recovery
DownloadsThe file comes in rar then you could extract and thought the recovery folder with the files insideRecovery Folder
My update-script
To encourage me and encourage my future work please give me a thank [:good:]. Thanks a lot :victory:

With TWRP: you go to Advanced tab, choose Copy log to SD
then go to SDCARD open recovery.log
find your error keyword (eg: status 7) then look above the line contain zip file names... you ewil see the error.... GOOD LUCK

just a question, I'm a complete newbie to porting (I don't even start porting, just reading the "how tos") so I don't understand this part
"Port rom: the rom need to port(from devices have the same chipset and based cm11)"
I mean, we are going to port ROM for Nokia X2 right? does that mean that the "port ROM (that you mention in the first post)" can be the original Stock ROM from the Nokia X2?
thanks..

Download Flashable ZIP (Only for Viper10 User)
Download Bootanimation (Replace manually)
How to replace manually:
- Rename ZIP to hTC_bootup.zip
- Rename System/Cusomize/Recource/hTC_bootup.zip to hTC_bootup.zipBAK (just in case)
- Copy new hTC_bootup.zip into that folder
- Set rights to -rw-r-r-
- Reboot and have fun
thanks @Basil3 for flashable zip
thanks @Kratos90 for patiently answered

Maybe take the files from within the zip and replace them with a file explorer.
How to:
- Rename ZIP to hTC_bootup.zip
- Rename root/System/Cusomize/Recource/hTC_bootup.zip to hTC_bootup.zipBAK (just in case )
- Copy new hTC_bootup.zip intothat folder
- set rights to -rw-r-r-
- reboot and have fun...

flashable zip doesn't seem to work(it places the file as bootanimation.zip).. is it only for viper? i will try the manual way ...
edit:- manual way worked
edit:- also by editing the file name of bootanimation.zip within customize folder of flashable zip to hTC_bootup did the job as well
