That's what I wanted to do. So it's not possible? Is there a location for the icons that I can access with root to replace it?
LG G2

U can. U have to find the icon image and change it. I used to change the stock icons of different roms using number of tools myself when i had nexus and s3. But it's too much work.

Cool. I'll go digging for it when I get some free time, have a feeling it may take a little while lol. Thanks

I downloaded CleanRom to my pc and used 7zip to find the file (its in "LGHome_Theme_Optimus.apk"). Look in the "drawable-xxhdpi" folder for the png labeled "lg_dockmenu_ic_allapps.png" Then replace it with whichever png you like. You should name it whatever the original png in the app was named.

Can I just copy the lghome_theme*******.apk to my pc, make changes(png, name), then copy paste it to the phone in the proper location, change permissions, and good? Do I need to unzip, make changes, re-zip? Just looking for a little clarification, as this would be my first time doing this kind of mod.
Thanks for any help.

Yes, icon themer works great, but it doesn't change the App drawer icon on the Verizon phone, stock launcher.

So i found these files on my AT&T version with Solid Explorer and want to try to replace the LG Optimus theme with one of the downloaded ones I've found by renaming and overwriting, but I don't know how the accompanying odex file works and if I need to change that also. I really just need the aosp app drawer icon changed. Any ideas?

Or doesn't change the app drawer icon though, which is the goal of this whole post. Check out your app drawer icon in the picture, its still gray with the white squares. So is mine, plus changing my dpi changes up its size.
And has anyone found how to remove icon labels from the home screen on stock launcher? It looks a lot cleaner without them.

[UPDATED][Theme](Added MIUI official camera/gallery) Close look to MIUI

As we all know some people has started working on MIUI. This porting will take little time as MIUI is not open sourced as CM7. So till then we can enjoy MIUI feeling on our phone through little customization.
What are the things we have like MIUI.
MIUI Official Gallery
MIUI official Camera
Notification Icons
Music Player
Phone Dial Pad
Icons
Boot Animation
MIUI analog Clock
Lock Screen
Find New MIUI Music Player http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16349522&postcount=59
I have done nothing expect editing CM7 theme & icon from its original one (GingerbreadEX). So all credit goes to DEVs who has created such wonderful things.
Installation:
Download the file from said link. Unzip where you want to in your SD Card.
1) Install MiuiMusic.apk, RayGBEXMIUI.apk and WaterLiveWL.apk.
2) Select RayGBEX theme in theme chooser.
3) Select Water wallpaper from live wallpaper.
4) Select Lense in CyanogenMOD setting/Lockscreen/Style option if you are using ROM based on CM7. If not then install widget locker and have any MIUI slider to have MIUI lock screen look..
5) Using root explorer go to system/media and rename bootanimation.zip file (like 1bootanimation.zip)
6) Rename miuiboot.zip to bootanimation.zip and paste it to system/media.
7) Reboot. Done.
If circle battery is not working for you then go to CM setting/interface/status bar tweak/deselect default battery% and reboot.
For better look I recommend you guys to use GoXlauncher.

Transparency issues

Has anyone else has trouble changing the wallpaper and then having the status bar and the soft keys lose their transparency?
Or better yet, has anyone been successful in changing their wallpaper and keeping they're transparency settings? I'm having trouble pinpointing the cause, because it doesn't always happen right away...
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

And transparency doesn't work with Apex, etc. (along with some other things which Apex does not get right.)
Yeah I solved part of the problem, I think.. Because even the preloaded ones were having issues. I had a wallpaper app (great wallpapers, just doesn't seem compatible) that seemed to mess everything up with the build prop I suppose. I love how expansive the screen looks - so I rather just choose from the preloaded ones and still have the transparency on the top and bottom.
By the way, I have the T-Mobile one (got it online). I also downloaded the Verizon wallpapers and they work fine.

Ok, that s***s right. This feature is borrowed from the S4's i guess. I like it all transparent too. I don't have the phone yet but if your phone is rooted using file explorer go to system-->customize-->resource there you should see the stock wallpapers. Try replacing one of the wallpaers with yours and see if that keeps the transparency. Not sure about the process but give it try if you like.

Try searching under system-->customize-->resource using es file explorer. If they are not there simply search for the stock wallpaper names and look up their properties for the location.

Yeah, I think I'm getting more into the bottom of this. For starters, the main reason I had the issue before was due to the wallpaper app. Using the native wallpaper adjuster, I've been able to at least keep the transparency when using stock wallpapers (from other models, like I mentioned). Additionally, I just noticed that it will also keep the transparency if you use a photo taken with the camera.
After I deleted the wallpaper app though it's been working better.
Nahh.. Just kidding. Setting my own photos keeps my transparency for the soft keys (arguably the most important part, since it's the larger of the two), but leaves the transparency of the status bar at about 50%.
I can live with that. I'm guessing that with root and a decent ROM this "bug" could be taken care of. Thanks with the help this far though.

Ok now i downloaded the stock wallpapers from the theme section and looked up for their names. In the picture below look for the stock image names. Try searching one of the names using softwares like "ES File explorer". It should locate the wallpaper, if it does look for the properties.
Let me know if it works.
http://postimg.org/image/rjrmhzza9/
Here is a little trick I ran across. The lock screen wallpaper inherits the transparency attributes from the main screen. So if I put my own pic on lock screen, it will have transparency if home page is transparent. There may be more to it, but that is all I have seen to date.

I manually edited the build.prop and then used Xposed Framework's App Setting to get the camera back to the stock size. I'm using 320 and it's awesome.

You can download/install Xposed Framework and then use the "App Settings" module. It lets you use a custom DPI for any app you choose. You'll want to set Messaging and Camera to 480 (default). There might be others, but those are the 2 most noticeable.

I have to agree with you, the SMS app is the biggest annoyance when it comes to DPI. The input box is huge.. If I just send someone okay, or lol, I probably don't need 8 lines to do it.
With the input box and the keyboard out, you really can't even see the conversation thread anymore. Does your update give you more room when it is all out? So that you can see a message or two up at least?
---------- Post added at 09:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:40 PM ----------
Also you might want to just use your own background from the Gallery.. maybe it won't cut that one off.

Hah my bad, I think I got this thread confused with another one.
Anyway, to everyone, I stopped using the built in Messaging because it's 1) slow, 2) ugly to me, and 3) I like stock. I'm using the app "8sms" in the play store. It is the stock messaging app with some more features, and it works perfectly.

I think there is a way to add more icons to LG's stock icon picker, since we can actually create some from scratch there should be a way to add pack of icons to the picker, I am hoping..
I think i might actually know how to take the G2 theme apk and just make it into an add-on for icons... Give me a bit, let me mess around

Could you realize a Kitkat theme in Hd? The only one i found is not good (low definition, camera icon not Kk, etc.) Sorry for my bad English... Thanks to read me!

On the JB theme you are showing both the Jellybean and KitKat icon set. Is it possible to choose between them? @Milan84

You can change yourself icons in lg home launcher option, just replace jb icons with kitkat icons.
Just got my G2 yesterday, switched from the HTC One. My overall first days impressions are that it's a fantastic phone, although some of the micro-lags can be annoying.
Anyway, thanks for these fantastic themes, am loving the sense one!! Keep up the good work.

Thanks bro for your great work! Is awesome!
Can I have a request?
My android's biggest issue with looks was and probably will always be the un-unified look of the icons!
On iOS for example all icons have that unified rounded shape while icons on android are a mess!
Can you make a stock lg launcher theme that makes all icons have the same shape!? I don't care about the shape itself whether it's circular, square or anything else!
To make myself clearer, it will be similar to what Goolors or DCikonz make with nova icons! It either adds shaped background or even trim edges to make all apps have same shape!
Is it feasible?
Thanks again!

+1.
What would also be nice is to have round folders, or, anything other than the current stock ones.

You can try out the app UniCon and use the STARK icon pack for example to unify the look of the icons. It works also on GEL launcher
