SD Card Socket - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, just bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 from a technology store in Cyprus
I have a problem with the SD Card Socket, it doesn't click when i insert the sdcard and i have to drag it out to take it out, it won't click out either.
Using an 32GB Class 10 Verbatim MicroSDHC.
I've used the application SD Tools several times and when i "Start Speed Tests" the application freezes and i can't use the sd card in any other application, I don't know if any other guy has this issue.
Please tell me anything if u know how to fix this.

It seems your socket is broken. You have some options which are to take it back to the store for replacement or repair, or buy the part yourself and change it. It's a very easy fix.
Costs about $5 on eBay.

thank you very much, the strange part is that i used a SanDisk 16GB Class 4 microSDHC card and it clicked perfectly, it even clicks-out too, and it works perfectly, i don't know what to think, i've put the two microsd cards next to each other and they have the same exact size, i don't know what is wrong ;/

take off the battery cover and with the battery towards you you need to lift the left side silver piece of the phone and there will be a slot for the card.

Simply replace the "whatever" with an "X" and you got the full name of the device

Micro usb sd card reader?

As you know you can get usb sd card readers. But these are quite big.
I wonder if a micro usb version exists that's quite flat. It would make the 16gb version a viable option.
Do you think something like this will work?

Someone posted this in another thread.
We need either a micro usb version of this:

Or this with a very small usb to micro usb converter. Smallest I could find;

Edit.
This might be better as it supports up to 64gb micro sd cards;

Bah, that micro-USB/USB adapter is enormous. I'm pretty sure they're extremely simple devices, since they're both USB so it just means that corresponding pins need to be connected. So why are they so huge? You could make one that was only as long as the necessary connectors, and it would be nearly invisible when it was actually hooked up.
I remembered reading a thread asking this over on the Nexus 7 forum:

Going deeper into that thread I discovered this:

LET'S FUND THIS! I would love for someone to manufacture this, even if I don't end up getting a nexus 10, it will mean any nexus device can use MicroSD no matter what!:laugh:
Also, this does exist now, but this is ugly and bulky compared to the 3d rendered final product in the product linked above, and it doesn't say if it supports SDXC or not

[Q] Open Nexus 4 and replace internal SD?

Hi Guys
did anyone already thought about to open your Nexus 4 and "just" replace the internal SD with a bigger one? I own a 16GB Version but i need more Storage :|
Maybe all this idea is nothing new and there are already Guides how to do... then sorry for this Thread but i did not found them.
What do you think about it?

You need to tear down your phone, and get your soldering kit ready... replace the component highlighted in RED. That's the flash memory.

1+2 may have dual SIM, microSD slot

A still image allegedly taken from a OnePlus promotional video, supposedly shows a device that might be the next phone offered by the upstart manufacturer. The photo reveals a device that supports dual SIM cards and has a microSD slot.

If this is true (and it's a big if), I sure hope that dual SIM is an option since it would make developing custom ROMs nearly impossible.
wow...i have mixed emotions about the dual-sime setup...lol...if what you're saying about cooking for it is right, then this will definitely be a game changer...however, an sd card slot is a WIN....
They looks more like a transflash card slot, cause as you can see there is only one protection for SIM card and the two pits miss the SIM connections, usually located on the bottom and not on side as look from this pic, but for sure is a strange layout

The piece in the centre (in the red circle) is an sd card holster.

Just to make it clear the micro SD card is going to be sent to you via mail. T-Mobile won't be distributing them at the retail locations.

When will the website be updated to allow people to get there orders in for the Free 128Gb Card and extra battery etc...?
