Bluetooth dongle on MK808 (non-B) - Android Stick & Console RockChip based Computers

So I have this MK808 that doesn't have bluetooth, but I have an IOgear USB dongle that has the Broadcom BCM2045 chip in it. Of course, it doesn't work when I try it. After a bit of googling, I found this website that has some dude getting it to work with something called a "Beagleboard" which seems to have similar specs as the MK808 (some differences).
http://antweb.me/index.php/blog-rea...-on-a-beagleboard-xm-running-android-ics.html
Any idea if those tricks will work on the stock MK808 ROM? Any idea if those mods are in any custom ROMs? Anyone want to try it out?
If not, I'll just return it and get the MK808B and be done with it. I figured that might help someone else, too.
Oh, and the USB BT dongle is the IOgear GBU221WM / GBU231WM if that helps. It's just a wrapper for that BCM2045 chip, though.

Majority of kernels/roms should have the bluetooth modules installed and working as standard now. Could always try flashing a new rom?

AFAIK this will NOT work.
Unless there has been a recent breakthrough. I have about 6 different Bluetooth USB adapters and tried everything from CM10 to Finless to MINIX Hybrid with various custom kernels.
I've found NO working combination. The drivers are there but something is failing. I've looked at logcats and watch it start and stop.
So I don't know. Hopefully one day because the lack of Bluetooth is annoying. I'd love to use my MOGA or PS3 with Bluetooth. I have a wireless 360 but I like the PS3 for emulators because of the good dpad.

just checkout the Funseries V3 Rom for Micromax Funbook..and some spansish dev also had included dongle support in their Roms.

The dongle I have (full-sized like Bluetooth 1.x?) doesn't work...
I think it depends on the Kernel modules/drivers?

Video Tutorial: Use a PS3 controller as a gamepad via bluetooth

Hello
I have made a tutorial on how to play games on any android device using a PS3 controller via bluetooth... I have demonstrated this on my Galaxy Note.
I have shown how to configure it with various emulators (PS one and SNES)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMDSOr9WoZ4
Also added an app to help you find ROMS easily.
Hope you find this useful

Do the analog sticks work? Specifically, are the analog sticks emulated as analog, or just digital (full on/full off) key presses, with no gradient?

Cool am from Chennai
Hi
@ ashwin123
How do you get the ps3 controller to work on your galaxa Note ?
I tried it ever and ever again with different Versions of Firmware , Different versions of the Sixaxis Controller App and also with different ps3 Bluetooth
Controller, but i don´t get a Connection between my Galaxy Note and the
ps3 controller
At the Moment my phone comes with stock firmware kl7 and i use Sixaxis
Controller App Version 0.3.9
The Ps3 Sixaxis Controller is Original from Sony.
The Galaxy Note is of course rooted.
I didn´t get this to work.
It makes me crazy
I paired the controller with the pairing tool.
then starting the sixaxis app,but the 4 lights on the controller were still blinking
and then they turns off. No Connection
Which firmware and wich version of sixaxis Controller app do you use ?
greetings from Germany
Turn off bluetooth on your phone first.
Then open sixaxis controller
Then connect controller to pc
Download sixaxis pc software
Change the code to whats found on the sixaxis app on the note
Now hit start on the app
The first player light should come on
Change input to sixaxis.
You should be good to go.
If anything is unclear please watch my tutorial video once more...
If the issue still persists contact manufacturer... (lol Ive always wanted to say that... juz kidding if you still cant connect it come back and leave a post explaining where exactly do things go wrong)
Dont you worry, we will get your controller paired up soon

Good news and bad news...
Good News... it can be done and its simple
Bad News... You need a receiver from microsoft, the one you get to connect the controller to pc... then you can connect it to the usb port (in case the galaxy note theres no USB port so connect a usb host adapter to the micro usb post and then the receiver to that)
Android should handle the rest.
This should work in theory and I have seen it work on honeycomb... not a 100% sure on gingerbread
COST:
USB Receiver $20 (approx.) (Amazon)
USB Host adapter $1-3(approx.) (Ebay)

bluetooth through OTG?

Hey guys, just curious since I know the BT in the device is a bust would it be possible to get BT unning through an OTG cable and adapter. I was only thinking about this because i was going to try playing with an emulator and thought it would be neat to be able to use a real game controller.
Not possible, you'd need driver support in the ROM for specific hardware.

[Q] OnLive Compatible?

Was just wondering if anyone had tried the OnLive Android client on this? It's obviously not officially supported yet, but there is a fair chance that it will work.
Thanks.

Thanks, was just thinking that I hadn't seen anyone run it on JB, and there may be some compatibility issue there.
Would still like to see if someone can actually get it running. I am tempted to pick up one of the universal controllers if I am sure it works well with this.
im getting onlive for sure! i just need to find a good controller for my tegra hd games.
Thought I'd bump this existing thread since the N7's are in a lot of people's hands now. Has anyone had a chance to try the controller yet?
I'm interested in getting a controller for my N7 and until the Nyko Android PlayPads are released. Thought this might be the best way to go in the meantime.
Cheers,
Kermee
I have just sold a brand new controller on eBay as I had two sent and they didn't want it back ?!? Very accommodating are on live ... lol
Have not used my on live yet but the N7 run games (in app) amazingly well.
I think On live will work just as good

This is a patched onlive app that allows any controller to work by default. Like sixaxis pps3.

I had previously bought an official receiver so that I could use my wireless Xbox controller to play games on my Windows PC.
Now I just plug the receiver into a USB OTG cable connected to my N7. Just tap the button on the receiver and the connect button on the controller, and job done. You can use the Xbox controller to navigate and play games.
Thanks for that information I'm waiting on my cable and ill try my wired xbox control I've already got the patched apk installed

OnLive and the official universal controller works great.

Question: Bluetooth stream from nook color to headset

Running latest cm10 nightlie. Tried listening to music via Bluetooth headset paired with my nook color. Also tried watching Netflix and videos from SD card. Didn't work. Tries to work, playback is blotchy. Affects the application playback as well. I know its rather new, but is there a fix for this yet? Thanks for the great work! Love jb on my nook color!

Been a while since I messed with my NC (still love it! I feel negligent...) but for bluetooth, you'll be lucky to get 15" of distance from the device. The device isn't properly wired for a full bluetooth experience since it was developed with the idea of not having bluetooth available. The Wifi chip has bluetooth but was disabled in the kernel and it was XDA that brought it to life. For that reason, BT on the device is really only useful for something to use nearby, like a keyboard directly in front. Sitting back and watching a movie with a headset is probably out of its range.
That explains why Bluetooth transfer only worked with the devices close together... Thanks

This makes sense. I've noticed similar problems in cm7, but thanks to developers its making more progress
