Before we proceed, make sure:
1-You have installed your Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini GT-I8190 USB drivers on your PC (the easiest way is to install Kies).
2-You need to enable USB debugging mode (Settings>Developer options) which is deactivated by default.
3-Your SIII Mini GT-I8190 should have 70-80% charge remaining.
4-Your SIII Mini GT-I8190 should be factory unlocked.
5-Backup your important data like Call logs, SMS and other data stored in phone memory in case if anything goes wrong, your data is not hurt.
6-Make sure that kies program is not running & disable antivirus.
This guide is only for Galaxy SIII Mini GT-I8190. So don’t bother to try it on other devices.
How to do it:
Step 1) Turn OFF your mobile and go to Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Home Buttons together for few seconds followed by Power button then proceed with volume up. (For some phones, when you see the construction Android robot and a triangle, press Power again to confirm to enter into Download Mode).
Step 2) Now open ODIN on your PC and connect your Galaxy SIII Mini GT-I8190 to your computer.
Step 3) Once your phone is successfully connected to your PC, the ID:COM box on ODIN will turn blue and will show the COM port number.
Step 4) unzip the downlowded file, u will get a Home.tar file.
Step 5) click on pda (in odin) and choose the file "Home.tar"
Step 6) check "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" options and make sure that "Re-Partition" is unchecked
Step 7) Click on Start button in ODIN window to start the installation process. The process will take few minutes to complete.
DO NOT UNPLUG USB CABLE WHILE EXECUTING THE PROCESS, YOU MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE!
Step 8) When the installation is completed, you read a "Pass". your phone will restart (first boot will take a longer time so don't panic) :good:
It is recommended to make hard reset after flashing to have a fresh official firmware
NOTE 1: If you flashed custom recovery when rooting, please restore your stock recovery, do it before flashing stock firmware: refer to tsy0n thread.
NOTE 2: If your phone stuck into a bootloop after flashing the firmware, take-off battery, reinsert it, boot in odin mode and flash "param.tar" (attached) as PDA.
NOTE 3: If you have a corrupted partition table, (Odin says: "there is no pit partition" or "Re-Partition operation failed"), flash pit file for your device (attached) (put it in pit window) with your firmware, in this case "Re-Partition" must be marked.
Odin troubleshooting: If Odin accidentally gives you "fail" try the following:
- Repeat procedure.
- Make sure that all actions of Kies are disabled from task manager.
- Change usb port.
- Try another usb cable (make sure it is the original).
- Try another Odin version.
- Uninstall and re-install driver.
- Try another computer.

The question is: does full unroot from superuser app. delete su binary and superuser app. ? Does return back stock recovery???

Yes I understand. Just wanted to share an alternative and easy method if unroot is all you need. Dont know what gets deleted and whats not. I've never tried this method, but of course it won't revert back to original recovery or anything like that.

Yes you can :good:

First of all, this is my first post, thank you all for providing me this excellent information source!
I was looking for the original Dutch firmware, which I cant find in the list in this thread.
I wan't to flash my Galaxy S 3 mini to official stock firmware, because I bought a T-mobile(provider) version yesterday(good price). Everytime I turn my phone on or off I see the damn T-mobile logo and sound, so I want to flash or if needed root.. I allready installed Kies and did a firmware update, but that updates to the same one I have now with the T-mobile logo..
As far as I know, Kies does not provide an option for a clean firmware install without the T-Mobile provider logo and sounds on startup..
This is my first smartphone, and I'm new to Android, so I will be doing lots of ready before I hook my device up to Odin!
Thanks!

any way second post is updated. Netherlands added

It's a sim lock free phone, I use Vodafone as a network provider. Saturn(the shop) had a special offer on it, but it is T-Mobile branded. So it works fine with my Vodafone network, but you have the built in T-Mobile crap when you turn it on and off plus some bloatware apps..
Does that makes sense?
Oh what the heck, it doesn't matter anyways I will probably root it tommorow anyways..
But I need to do alot of reading first so that I know what I'm doing! The idea was to install a clean version of the firmware, witout the T-Mobile bull..
Thank you for the Dutch version!

Chainfire3D is for froyo/gingerbread only.
Go to download mode and flash the fix to be able to enter recovery.
You probably still have to flash rom using odin as I dont think clear cache is enough, and you don't have any nandroid backup I guess.
Take a look at the toolkit in the dev-section.

@didhiy, please PM me when you get stuff sorted so I can delete everything off my Google Drive.
[Original Post]
First of all... it took me months of searching, trial and error, stopping, restarting, and getting to a solid solution to root my phone, get the latest firmware, and also have CWM.
So credit to everyone who helped in the below threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23307082#post23307082

What you need:
https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B_UvqlM1EJ_yeFVIN1JUQXNRZEU/edit
1. Odin 1.87
How to use Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1160580
2. Flash SC02BOMKE3
(auto reboot, f. reset time CHECKED)
PDA: SC02BOMKE3_Daddy.tar.md5
3. After reboot, Wipe data/factory reset, clear your cache, then reboot.
4. Download the Superuser app from Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=superuser&c=apps)
5. Run Superuser on the phone to test if rooted or not (the above kernel is already rooted, so it should work). Update the su in the options page and it should update and be ok.
6. Go to Settings/About phone/Software update/Check for update and it update the firmware without flashing the whole system so you get to keep your 2.3.x update and root. I had to update twice... first time i did manually and the second popped up after the reboot...
7. Download and extract "KL4_ext4.zip"
8. Flash "zImage.tar" with Odin 1.87 to get CWM on your phone
(auto reboot, f. reset time CHECKED)
PDA: zImage.tar
9. Flash "kyapaT10mod3.tar"
(auto reboot, f. reset time CHECKED)
PDA: kyapaT10mod3.tar
For additional modifications to the kernel... I do not know what the changes are as the source is in Japanese and I don't feel like having my wife read the kanji for me... but apply if you want.
COMPLETE
IF ALL ELSE FAILS: (missing dbdata... sim card not detected...)
A. Flash SC02BOMJJ1
(re-partition, auto reboot, f. reset time CHECKED)
Pit: sc02b_odin_2011112.pit
*PDA: SC02BOMKE3_Daddy.tar.md5
Phone: MODEM_SC02BOMJJ1.tar.md5
CSC: CODE_SC02BOMJJ1.tar.md5
* Yes i know that the firmware code it does not match... but it worked for me and I use this phone for work…
B. Wipe data/factory reset and clear your cache, then continue from step 2

Using thsese files (thanks robo-d):
JVU + CFROOTJVU (better than JVP):https://hotfile.com/dl/151999730/10c...FROOT.rar.html
but my sim card was not detected. tryied to flash my modem file, that failed. but then I just reflashed everything to get CWM and restored my to working condition with my Nandroid backup.
will do some more testing now... I should read more about how the modem, csc, code, etc stuff works so I dont do any pointless flashing.
But to make it clear, I did get CM9 on my phone, no problem.
Status 7 error was also solved when I flashed the JVU kernal. So the status 7 error should be there for anyone who flashes SC02BOMKE3.
My next step:
get stock firmware
CF-root it, boot into CWRecovery
check if Status 7 error exists when flashing CM9
IF NO Status 7, flash CM9 and check Simcard
IF Status 7, back to square 1.

CM9 will flash... but the sim card wont detect. But i only tried on the usa firmware... i cant find a SC02B firmware that i can flash CWM and NOT get a status 7 error when i truy to flash CM9.
I will try DK rom next as i lucked out with CM9 for the past few days.
If the process is not the same as CM9 then it may work...
Then again, after a few hours of trian and error, i noticed that when i flash the rom baseband or kernal is changed... so this would screw up any previous firmware that i am on...
Pleas note that i not a dev... i dont make any of these files... i just flash them...
I must look like a total jackass to one of these super nerds here... but hey, let the Guinea pig do his job.

no, i flashed US stuffs, and was able to flash CM9 from CW recovery.
So after reading some stuffs... the Status 7 error is proably from me trying to flash CM9 with firmware (or whatever it is called) that does not match...
same think happened with Dark Knight 5.
So I am at a conclusion that all we can do is hope someone develops a ROM for SC02B or there is something else we can do to get around this...
so for now, we are stuck with kyapas T10 mod3 (not that it is really bad... but no other ROMS)

I would get the NTT docomo boot screen followed by the GTI9000 screen, so we are on teh same page. the CM9 Nightly build works perfectly fine despite the sim card not being detected.
If I knew how to make a CF-root kernal for the SC-02b I would do it... but dont know who to get at to get the stuff needed...
ya i got that weird screen too.. also if you turn your brightness down using zdtools it will give the same effect until you increase the brightness.
that is not a major malfunction, so don't worry about it.

wait for it to finish rebooting, and skip all those steps in the 1st time phone wizard
reboot back into download mode again
close your previous session of Odin
run a new session of Odin
select PDA
select CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVP-v3.7-CWM3RFS.tar
flash it (Start)
it will reboot again
Congratulation! if all went well you should see these in your App drawer screen
to make sure it actually works, go into CWManager, and select ClockworkMod
select reboot into recovery
if all goeswell you should be inside the orange ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.5
Flashing ICS AOSP ROM
if you followed all the above to this point, might as well have fun and load ICS, but first...
in CWR make a Nandroid backup of your stock JVP with KG3 modem
in CWR select backup and restore
select backup in the sub menu, i'll take about a minute or two to complete
it will automatically go back to the main menu in CWR when it's done with the backup
select mounts and storage
select mount USB storage in the sub menu
now copy & paste the ICS ROM to your phone, and optionally the Google Apps, face unlock, etc
select unmount
select +++++Go Back+++++
select wipe data/factory reset
select wipe cache partition
select install zip from sdcard
select choose zip from sdcard
in my case i installed these:
- ICS_4.0.1_r1-Beta2-i9000.zip (AOSP) or teamhacksung_galaxysmtd-ota-eng.BUILD7.zip ("CM9")
- gappsv5.1.zip
optionally you can also install
- face-unlockv5-final.zip
- FuguModICS_GT-I9000_update-Beta2.zip
- bd-ics-bootanimation-flashable.zip
after the flash it will reboot on its own, let it do its ICS magic
Enjoy!

gudluck my friend i hope u can figure it..i will also try another ROMs but i think Cyanogenmod are not compatible for this phone according to CyanogenWiki..did you read about the recovery 3e?.i think that sounds useful..but i didnt tried it yet..gudluck to us..c:
Well the rom is based off some firmware as all ot does is over right some files.
It did mention in the guide above that they keep a specific modem... that and in rom manager there ate several roms to download and flash.
But from my understanding, the japanes model has a one off modem just for the phone and using othe country modles wont work.
as mentioned in the guide above, Canada does not need a different modem file as it will still work.
That all makes sense... so the next step is to find a way to:
A) flash the modem file before flashing CM9
B) flash the modem file after CM9
C) integrate the modem file in CM9 so when
I tried A and B but it failed (i flashed with odin)
C would require knowledge of what a ROM actualy does when you flash it... but going back to the gude, CM9 does not overwrite the modem file when flashing it...
More or less, this would have to be a compatibility issue with the PDA, CSC, PHONE, and .pit file

[Ultimate Guide] Installing / Rooting / Self-Customizing Stock Rom 4.2.2 / 1 [13/08]

To Being with Lets make this guide in three sections
[Post 1] General Instructions
[Post 2] Installing Stock Rom 4.2.2
[Post 3] Rooting Your Device
[Post 4] Customize your ROM as per your wish
General Instructions
Introduction
Rooting your new purchased android device is leg shaking... Main reasons of rooting is to remove bloatwares, gain power of your own device with full potential, install root application and of course Custom Roms. Flashing with custom images will increase your flash bin counter and this breaks your warranty. So people avoid rooting but thanks to chainfire, reset of this counter is made easy as having nuts...
Before moving ahead let me explain what’s rooting...
Rooting your android device simply means you are enabling administrator rights for yourself!! To be more precise unrooted device restrict user and we use our phone as a guest account like in windows OS.
Warnings:
This ROOTING Steps are foolproof but Rooting means you are playing with systems, so please don't try if you don't know what you are doing...Hence it can brick your device (DEAD) and make it useless... So read the steps completely before proceeding..
Rooting is for your fun not for any legal issues viz, piracy.
Charge your phone well before proceeding.

Be careful, follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39395506&postcount=604 and remove unwanted apps.
So now your phone is having more RAM, more battery life and lag-free like other custom roms. zipaligned, deodex is for saving space in our device and for themes. As I observed, some people don't trust custom ROM and they want safety over theme and other Custom rom benefits. So guys its your own ROM! Enjoy!

May I add.....
Instead of installing super su, one can proceed and flash Balliboxer 4.2.2 rom thru cwm. That way you get root plus zipaligned, deodex or odex.

Yes that's good option, but is for self-customized ROM. Few of my friends Questioned me that they dont trust Customized ROMs. People who dont trust custom ROM can finally customize as per their need.
Nice thread, it will help beginners a lot.
But the link you gave that tells which apps can be removed is not very accurate, there are actually many other apps that can be removed safely.
I had made a post about it, but it was for 4.1.2.
Check it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39395506
It should be more or less the same for 4.2.2 but anyway, as soon as I get 4.2.2 I'll make a new post about safe to remove apps. For now I wait for a better version, cuz the current one seems to be full of bugs and many people are disappointed with it to the extent that they downgrade back to 4.1.2...
With all those apps removed when I start my phone I have like 160 mb RAM consumption, and now that I'm using it I just checked, I have 213 mb only...

1 & 2 known bugs for some working fine for some not
1. get app from play store( workaround )
2. flash s4 contacts app or use alternative
3. Message > Settings > Notifications > check preview message

[Q] How can i fix it?

Alright, my problem is when i try to call someone this message pops "Not registered on network".This all happened when i changed from stock to arrow rom, everything ran smoothly but this message kept popping up even on any rom plus stock. I've searched on this forum for the same problem and seems like it can be solved with files called "EFS".
Thank god i did full nandroid backup before changing to arrow rom, so i tried to restore but every single time twrp says "no os installed do you wish to continue?" so i continued as if twrp is nuts but the phone gets stuck on the black screen after you restart the phone.I also tried installing stock firmware which is "I9500XXUEMJ5" then downloading nandroid manager and restore from there, but still not working.
Honestly i don't know what to do now as a phone without the ability to make calls is useless.I don't know why nandroid backup is not working properly, but the file is 3.7gb which contains EFS system etc...
Update: Seems like my backup is corrupted so backing up is impossible, which is fine.
Update(1):There is a new firmware for my phone "XSG" which is:
Product Code: XSG
PDA: I9500XXUEMJ8
CSC: I9500OJVEMJ8
MODEM: I9500XXUEMJ8
So shall i just wipe cache, data etc../factory reset then install using Odin V3.09?
And after that shall i download the specific modem too? or is it already installed with the firmware?
Thanks in advance!
This nandroid backup is corrupted. The unique u have to do is flash a CLEAN STOCK ROM for ur device and dont restore the backup.
*EDIT: I hope it solve ur problem. Next time use this ONE for backup ur EFS

Alright i am a noob,so can you tell me what do you mean by saying "CLEAN STOCK ROM".And if i do will i get "Not registered on network" message? since "EFS" files must be the ones i backed up.
Go into Settings, About device, Status, does your IMEI number show?
By clean stock rom, you'll need to flash a stock rom via Odin. Whats your current baseband version? Also are you on new knox bootloader or old non knox bootloader?

That's fine you have KNOX.
You'd need to choose the correct firmware, if you think MJ5 was the one you had installed then flash that, although your free to flash whatever is higher like the newest FW for I9500 but not you will not be able to downgrade to a lower FW version.
Instructions For Flashing Firmware:
- Extract (unzip) the firmware file
- Download Odin3 v3.09
- Open Odin3 v3.09
- Restart phone in download mode (Press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons)
- Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
- Add I9505XXUEMJ5_I9505OXAEMJ5_I9505XXUEMJ5_HOME.tar.md5 to AP (The firmware you have downloaded)
- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
- Click start button, sit back and wait a few minutes.
- If you encounter any issues with the firmware (Any FC, Bootloop etc)
- Boot into recovery mode (Home+power+vol up)
- Choose to wipe/factory reset. (THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD!)
- Then choose reboot and you should be good to go!

This is not true - even with TWRP on the phone u can use method 1 or 2 it will return your phone back to stock. You will then have to flash twrp back to the phone after if you want to

I actually tried with twrp, but it didn't work. Maybe I missed out on doing something there in the settings.

yes...you are right, if we use odin to flash a stock firmware, we will need to install twrp again..but in fact I wanted to inform that if you can live without twrp, odin method should help.

I'm posting this to help some people out here about reflashing a phone back to stock with out having a firmware to do it threw ODIN.
You have (3) options to revert back to STOCK firmware. I will cover (2) of the ways to revert back to stock right now.
OPTION 1 - SAMSUNG KIES 3
1.) Download SAMSUNG KIES 3
2.) Open SAMSUNG KIES 3
3.) Once KIES 3 openes you will see a screen that says : UNSUPPORTED DEVICE ALERT : THE CONNECTED DEVICE IS SUPPORTED THROUGH SMARTSWITCH, WHICH IS FASTER AND MORE CONVENIENT : CLICK CONFIM
4.) Click tools , select Firmware upgrade and initialization
5.) Model Name : SM-G930F
6.) Your serial #
click OK
follow steps
OPTION 2 - SAMSUNG SMART SWITCH
1.) Download SAMSUNG Smart Switch
2.) Open SAMSUNG Smart Switch
3.) Click the MORE button on the top right
4.) Click tools , select Emergency software recovery and initialization
5.) Make sure your phone is in DOWNLOAD MODE
6.) Click DEVICE INITALZATION TAB
7.) Model Name : SM-G930F
8.) Your serial #
click OK
follow steps

Is ota update working again after do this?

S7 Edge bricked by flashing Chainfire root without OEM unlocked..

Hello everyone,
Sadly I've been stupid enough to flash Chainfire root trough Odin without enabling the "OEM Unlock" setting in android.
The phone is now stuck at the boot logo. Is there any way to get it to boot again? Or obtain the data that is on the phone?
It is an S7 Edge SM-G935F hero2lte
I was thinking to flash TWRP and create a backup, but I've got no idea if this is possible.
Luckily most of the pictures are on a External SD.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.
Lurninn
Download offical firmware from sammobile and flash it with Odin
Boot in download mode and flash official stock firmware...
Try flashing stock official firmware with HOME_CSC instead of CSC file so that it doesn't wipe your phone.
TWRP backup method will not work here since it also require OEM unlock and it must format /data once to remove encryption, so that it can read the partition which defeat the purpose since your current data are gone from the format.

download Kies for samsung and run emergency firmware download and install.

No.
It will ask you for phone model and serial number.
Read them from the back of the phone.
Install kies, run the program, put your phone to download mode and connect to pc.
In the upper section there must be a tab where you find "emergency firmware download and install" or something like that.
This is where you will be ask for model and serial number and the restauration begins.
If you want a clean install with all the data wiped, there a custom recovery will be handy from where you format everything and after that you will use kies.
Good luck

There are 2 versions of kies, one for older devices until galaxy s4, and one for newer devices.
I can't remember wich one is, but the app warns you if you didn't install the correct version
I have to mention, the firmware on the phone is the UK one instead of the Dutch one. I did this back then to get the 7.0 update earlier.
Will the Kies method still be possible?

Thanks for your help. but: Stock my S7 comes with PHN firmware ( Which is dutch ) but recently I've downloaded the BTU firmware. ( UK Unbranded ) in order to receive the 7.0 update earlier. So, : I downloaded the latest BTU Firmware for the S7 edge.
It comes with 5 files.

Now, should I just open the HOME_CSC_OXA in the CSC tab in ODIN and flash it?

The emergency option isn't available somehow. It shows "Lists of devices requiring emergency recovery" , but the list is empty.
When i choose the firmware upgrade option, I indeed have to enter my model name + Serial number, but the message states that data WILL be wiped.
@Lurninn
Here... my bad Take a closer look
This is what i used and on my device it didn't wipe data.
I don't know if it is available for you too but i did it a couple of times when i really messed up my phones and each time my photos and videos weren't deleted.
No matter what firmware you are on right now, kies will download the latest one corresponding to your device and the country it was released for.

The thing is, my phone originally is a PHN (Dutch) Phone, however, I flashed BTU (UK) Firmware on my phone.
And btw, Could it be that your pictures were on an external SD card? because using this recovery doesn't touch the external SD. I'm still not convinced that this will keep internal data untouched. ;(
The method of flashing HOME CSC seems the most safe/logical to me at this moment.

I did it on my s6edge wich doesn't have a external SDcard support only via otg.
Regarding the firmware, i told you that kies doesn't care about that becauce it will read your original trace of csc and will download the coresponding firware ( if the original firmware was Dutch it will download Dutch firmware )
I don't tell you to use my method and i don't guarantee you that this is 100% safe for what you want, but i'm telling you that i used this method and for me it worked even on non-external SDcard phones with no data loss except the third party apps.
Analize all advices you got here and chose a method.
I' m really curious. Don't forget to post the result.
Good luck.
---------- Post added at 19:49 ---------- Previous post was at 19:46 ----------
Also i dit it on my g935f. When i bought it i did some test photos, no SDcard in it.
At home i rooted it uncorespondingly and i bricked it.
Kies was my savior and after the process my taken pictures were there

Most of my pictures are on the SD-Card, It are mostly the 3'rth party apps that I was worrying about.
BUT: I've followed NonXtreme's method, and I SUCCEED!!!
I downloaded latest BTU Firmware from Sammobile, and flashed all 4 files (and CSC_Home) trough Odin.
At first I was kinda worried because after flashing the phone booted with "Erasing" in screen. The phone successfully booted, and remained just like I left it.
You might want to try this method next time artaniss11k if you want to keep your apps & settings.
Thanks guys for your help/suggestions.
