Okay, so you can boot into recovery right ? Is it original recovery image or modded recovery image ?
I faced the same problem last night, but I was in modded recovery image.

I am using mainfram3's modded recovery. I can boot into recovery
Good.
I am going to assume that you have also flashed a custom boot image. If not reply back and I shall let you know how.
Follow these steps, and you may just be able to get back your phone from the dead.
1. download the custom rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=643368
2. once your phone gets to recovery mode, you can use the adb commands. So, get to recovery mode.
3. do "adb shell"
4. Inside the shell, do mount /sdcard
5. exit the shell.
6. the rom you have downloaded now needs to be send to the sdcard. Use the command adb push <the rom you downloaded.zip> /sdcard/update.zip
7. Once the adb push command completes, press the home and call end buttons. You will get a menu.
8. choose "apply update from sdcard"
9. Once the update completes, execute the command adb reboot.
10. The phone will reboot and spring back to life.
Note that these steps worked for me and there is no guarantee that it would work for you. I can hope that it works for you !!
Shyam
THANK YOU!!!
I dont believe it!!
Cool. So it did work.
The other kick-a** part is that you now have root and a custom rom to boot ;-)

If you don't do a GoldCard, your tattoo is dead.
That's the problem. Since I cannot use adb (device not found), I cannot get the CID to create the goldcard. Any clues?
If you can get access to someone else's phone to get the SD card's CID, you can make a goldcard, but otherwise you are SOL.
I've been able to create a goldcard following the instructions on this site (I've been able to get the microSD CID using windows mobile and QMAT, it has an option to read the CID from a WinCE phone that is connected with activesync), but no look so far. When I try to apply the update.zip file in the SD card, it says that the signature is missing and that the verification has failed.
Any ideas?
Got it to start uploading the ROM, but if fails with error 131 (invalid CID)
Sucess!! My phone is back from the dead! I've been able (at last) to create a goldcard using a win mobile phone (Touch) and QMAT. Here're the steps if anyone needs to create a goldcard when your android phone is bricked, but you have a win mobile phone available:
1- Insert the microSD card in the win mobile phone and power it up (the one that came with the Tattoo works fine)
2- Connect the win mobile phone to your computer. ActiveSync must be installed and working
3- Start QMAT and select "Hardware Forensics->WINCE SD Card Utils"
4- Hit the "Get SD Serial and Disk ID" button.
5- Copy (or write down) the serial you get in the "SD Card Serial" box. Close QMAT and remove the microSD card from the win mobile phone (at this point, you don't need the win mobile phone anymore)
6- NO NEED TO REVERSE THE SERIAL!!! This is what I was doing wrong.
7. Go to "http://revskills.de/pages/goldcard.html" and enter the serial number you got from QMAT and fill out all the required fields
8- Wait for the goldcard image to arrive to your e-mail
9- Follow the instructions to copy (in other posts) the goldcard image to the microSD card using a hex editor
10- Insert the microSD card in your bricked phone connect it to your computer and press vol down and power at the same time. Choose fastboot from the menu (back button)
11- Launch the RUU program from your computer (RUU_Click_HTC_WWE_1.67.405.6_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver) works fine
12- Follow the instructions on the screen. Your phone should be back from the dead
Hello.i had bricked my tattoo and i tried to flash it but i got error 131 same as u did.here is the funny thing i have a friend that has a touch so i will try to do the same thing that you did,i read your post, but i get stuck at nr.9 where i have to copy the gold card and but i don't manage . can u give me please some instructions how to copy gold card using hex.thank you, i hope hearing from you soon.bye

When flashing MAGLDR the status remains at 0% for a long time, then gives a USB connection error
You need 2.08.HSPL installed in order to flash Magldr. Use HSPL3.exe and the Steps in *THIS* thread to do that.

its not too serious
steps to try:
-different usb port
or
-reinstalling ActiveSync
or
-if its still not working reboot your pc/laptop & start again.
Reboot done. Now Uninstalling ActiveSync and trying other USB port. Thanks.
Same as previous ones. 0%
the prev post was just to sort out the error,
as for the 0% its a known issue, follow the guides in the faq, everything you need is in there, (not to sound harsh) but no point really in typing it out again.
good luck
I really need to format my PC ;D Flashing task29 and RADIO done. ****ty programs (AtiTrayTools etc.) were the problems.

There are two things you need to learn on the internet:
Reading and Searching, no offense but you don't seem to be able to do either very well. Run the flasher under admin privileges
HSPL 2.08 is a must! then you should have a 576 MB ram radio. 2.08.50 will do it (task29).
then flash magldr. good to go

So from what you stated here you Task29, MAGLDR, Radio (which one byt the way) but did you install Clockworkmod recovery? If you have done nothing then that's why you are stuck at HTC screen as you have no OS or anything loaded yet. MAGLDR is the only thing you have installed.
From your steps you then need to:
1. Install the appropriate recovery (which I and another user had linked you to in another one of your posts)
2. Boot into MAGLDR (by holding power button) and then boot into CWM recovery
3. Partition your sdcard with your desired size (512-1024mb respectively but do not forget to backup the contents of your sdcard as partitioning will format it)
4. Transfer the rom you want to your sdcard
5. Flash it from CWM recovery
6. Reboot
7. Enjoy Nand android build and go have a donut
Post if you have additional questions

Nice haha,
Anyway by backup your sdcard I mean save whatever is on the card (music, pictures, etc.) to your computer, that way you can copy it back to the card after you have everything set up
As for what size to partition your sdcard, it's up to you. That partition space is the size of memory you will have to install user apps so it depends on how many you plan on using
When you make it to recovery you will see the option to partition your card, it will take you through the process.

Ok after step 10 installing MAGLDR you should boot into the MAGLDR screen. Select the USB Flasher option, instead of using the Nand toolkit try downloading the recovery here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=729033&d=1316816787
and using the daf.exe try flashing it that way. Make sure MAGLDR is in USB flasher selection.

Ok lets start from the beginning, post what you actually did step by step.
So i bought my first HD2 (EU version) from ebay a week ago and i've been trying to install custom roms since then.
I've been following the instructions from the NAND Toolkit thread but i could not install the ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6, because when the cmd command window appears it it stops at ( *daemon started successfully* ).
I have installed right now update recovery 3.0.0.5 which i found somewhere else but still not all roms work. The only rom that works is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462
Can someone help how to install ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6 manually or with some other way
HTC HD2
aMAGLDR V1.13
SPL - 2.08.HSPL
ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.0.5
Install clockwork through magdlr... seems like your installing through fastboot.
Hope this helps.

Just see this guide and download any of the recoveries at the bottom of the post. All you have to do is put your phone in USB Flasher, connect it to the PC and run the DAF.exe file within the selected CWM folder. If you want to change the recovery size, just open 'flash.cfg' (not flash.cfg.txt) with notepad or something similar (Windows has it preinstalled, dunno about other computers) and change the system partition value.
To be honest, I don't know how using the manual method would help over using the Toolkit, but the guide I linked worked perfectly for me, so try it out I guess
Try:

Why would USB debugging matter? You use USB Flasher in MAGLDR to flash CWM
Hey,
I have an HD2 and I format my memory card (16GB) on FAT32 and I put ClockworkMod Recovery 1.2.7 (zImage...) on the root of the card and I go to AD Recovery and say "No boot sources"
Someone can help me?
Thanks!!
PS: I already install the HD2 Toolkit but when I go to USB Flasher my HD2 say Wait USB...USB and freeze!! :crying:
Ad recovery is to start nand recovery, you want to boot SD.
PS. Its not frozen, its waiting for you to tell the nand toolkit what you want to do.
You need initrd too.

Oh man. If you find the toolkit too confusing, dont use it.
Download CWM partitions from here

To install CWM
1. Boot into MAGLDR(turn on phone while holding down the power button)
2. Select option 5. USB flasher
3. Connect Your phone to the pc by USB cable
4. When it says on the bottom line. USB.....USB. Then youre ready
5. Run DAF.exe from the downloaded files
6. VOILA! Its done
Yes its that easy

If I do this will my existing HD2O WPH 7.8 installation get messed?
I just want to try an Android ROM from another SD card (not the one that works with HD2O's ROM.)
Partitioning will remove wp7.
Get an SD android rom, put on SD card, into mgldr, set SD source to the folder you put the rom in, , choose boot ad SD
Thank you
Works as described!
