it was '5 sold' when I posted the link, '9 sold' by the time I made the purchase... and now it says '100 sold'

It's a penta-band HSPA+ phone, so it should work on T-Mo (and most HSPA network around the world). T-Mo doesn't really have a true 4G network; in their marketing terms, HSPA+ = 4G.

3.5G rounds up.
I'll confirm HSPA+ works. Speed Test was 10Mbps+. Checked out a co-workers.
Anyone know what build they are sending out?

HTC One X was a reason, thus it dropped from ~500+
Next reason is SGS III
which may not be around the market for another 2months..
But then one may want SGS III...
you can wait 2months and then decide... or compromise $30-50 price difference now and enjoy this nexus for next two months
On a different topic,
my recent device history is:
Vibrant -> Atrix -> SGS II -> Nexus S
I had SGS II and Nexus S simultaneously and I kept Nexus for its stability and curved display(feels much better than flat one). It is as snappy as sgsII and only part where I have to wait for the phone to process is when it is processing panaroma.
I really do not require an upgrade but still i'm going for gnexus as im excited to try what google has on platter with this one.
Considering I kept SGS based Nexus S over SGSII, it is highly likely that I will still stick to Gnexus despite of sgsIII launch.

This is the price trend of the G Nexus, which is the worst I've seen on a nexus phone, yeah buy one, by the time the GS3 and iphone 5 are out this phone will not worth crap. I'd give this one a $300 price range in 2 months.

This is the best online deal I have come across so far.
As far xda market trend, hardly anyone is willing to sell one below 450-480 despite of this deal being in place (an many other deals below 450 for quite a long)
PS: Members will be grateful if someone can purchase them locally for ~350 and sale on xda at that price; unfortunately nothing of that sort has happened yet..

Would you trade your EVO 4G for a Nexus S 4G?

Straight up trade, unrooted 2.3.3 EVO 4G for a similar condition Nexus S 4G on craigslist.
Would ya do it?
WOULD YA?
If you don't mind the smaller screen and potential signal issues with the ns4g do it. Also, the Nexus has root which the evo does not, +1 there to the Nexus.

absolutely NOT. I have the Evo 4G and my brother has the Nexus S 4G. Quality of the Evo compared to the Nexus S is like comparing a tank to a smart car. The Nexus seems very cheap, plasticky (<-- word?) and not to mention the lack of cases and accessories for it. There are so many more possibilities with the Evo than there ever will be with the Nexus S (granted that they get root for 2.3.3+).

I guess it depends on how you define "possibilities", seeing as how the EVO is at it's EOL, and the Nexus will get updates for years to come.

I sold my evo 3D for 400 on craigslist then bought a new nexus s for 275 in box on there lol. If you got a deal for even trade i would do it for sure. Signal issue isnt as bad as people make it seem......its a fcuking phone not a satellite transmitter who gives a **** if the bars fluctuate inside buildings it still works. Nexus s beats evo in every catagory. Screen is 4.0 while evo is 4.3 its not really that much smaller; screen quality is amazing....do it!! Ive owned 3 evo 4G's and 4 evo 3D's.

Upgrade question

I am planing on getting a epic 4g tourch but wanted to know if anyone knew what it would cost straight up at a sprint store? My renewal is not up until next year. Also does anyone know if i but the phone say off of bestbuy or eBay if the insurance i carry with sprint will cover the new phone? I dont know if it will being as i did not buy it from sprint. Thanks!
P.S. does anybody but me think 4.5inc is just to big for a phone.... Wish it was like 4inc.

My guess would be 599.99 off contract. For that kind of dough, you'd be better off doing an early termination, paying that and getting an new line with an on contract phone.
Not sure about the insurance though. Asurion is a seperate company they insure phones from all carriers.
No I think 4.5 inch is sweet, id like to see a 5 inch!
This is just my opinion here, but if your a year off from getting an upgrade I would wait. The epic 4g is going to be just fine for a long while yet. I've played with a freinds evo 3d and an international gsII. While they're cool, overall I was not impressed. I didn't see a signifigant increase in performance over this the epic 4g, and in some cases it seemed worse. I wuld wait for the 2nd gen of dual core phones or even until quad core....but that's just my 2cents. Good luck in whatever you decide, I'm sure it'll be an awsome phone.
From cellblock D
I plan on doing this at 14 months so I don't have to wait a full two years to get the promo price. While it cost 75$, the phone price will go from full price to the 199$. Still saving a few hundo.

i was trying to figure out the best options for upgrade as well. I have the best buy insurance so maybe my epic will take a tumble and then i can sell a brand new epic online and use that cash to buy a SGS2. However I was a little disappointed in the video i saw on engadget. They showed an epic touch next to the original SGS on att, they appeared to be the same thickness. Wasn't the big thing suppose to be the incredible thinness of the phone? hmmm

That's because they added in WiMax. So i would rather have the phone be 1mm thicker and have wimax.
The epic touch is gonna be sprint's thinnest phone anyway.

i think 4.5 will be fine because it has a small bezel too. but you are right nick, anything bigger than that is just crazy. Start feeling like we'll be the guy on hot tub time machine with the old school big ass phones
Love that movie!
When I just talked to Sprint this week, everyone said contract buyouts have been completely removed from their systems. So no regular rep can do that even if they wanted to.
Just a heads up.
You can definitely buy your phone off contract.
Itsjust not as easy as GSM where all yu do is connect your sim card and you're good to go
You have to call sprint after you buy it and get it activated with all the codes on the sticker and then it'll be tied to your account.
It also doesn't effect upgrade eligibility. So if you buy off contract and you're due for an upgrade, you can upgrade, keep the new phone in the box and just use your gsii as your main and sell the upgrade boxsealed to recoup a few hunneds

Sure don't. Especially if you factor in that even though the Vibrant is physically very similar to the original SGS, which the Herc is nothing like the other SGSII's, it takes internet smear campaigns to get updates. Forget Samsung; they forgot you minutes after you paid for your Vibrant.

TMO - $70/mo x 24 mo = $1680 over 2 years
--- TMO SGS2 $230
--- total over 2 years = $1910
Sprint -$80/mox24 mo = $1920 over 2 years.
--- Sprint SGS2 $200
--- total over 2 years = $2120
ATT - $85/mo x 24 mo = $2040
--- ATT SGS2 $200
--- total over 2 years = $2240
That's the REAL price you pay. Getting pissy over $30 differences between the subsidized phone pricing either means that the person complaining simply can't do math.
Not even for $99.

Actually will be worth the upgrade if this is true !
But hopefully its released soon otherwise those quad core beasts will be too close to pass up on.
Hmm engadget has edited their post, and its gonna be at 1.5ghz dual core!

I was about to mention the same thing! I still want to see the updated specs on this bad boy before getting too excited. If they're upping the processor, maybe they'll upgrade a few other things too, like the camera, RAM (show me 2 gee bees ), internal storage.
Man, if they upgrade this to current specs at the release date, I'm getting this thing the day it comes out even though Chicago isn't on the list of places to get LTE first. I'm sure it will come later this year though, I would think it's too big of a market to ignore for too long.
EDIT: -10 months for my upgrade (had one since Feb or Mar of this past year...)

Hope it is Exynos and not the Snapdragon in the Sprint version of the Gnex. AFAIK the Exynos SoC does not have LTE.

been eligible for quite some time. still dont knwo if this is the right upgrade path for me.
So basically they are going to launch a 3g Nexus? Because they will only have 4 cities up and running with LTE by "mid 2012", and they are mostly in Texas. By the time Sprint's Nexus gets LTE in your area, you will most likely want to be getting another phone anyway. Doesn't make much sense unless you seriously dont care about 4g LTE. The next Nexus phone will be the one that is attractive for Sprint, since their network will be really ramping up then.

Well it all depends on when they release it, if its in the next couple of months i will use someones upgrade on it if its later then 3 months i will hold off
The thing is even with the new fast roll out of lte i still don't know if i will have it in my city and having a nexus device for 2 years waiting for better stuff wouldnt kill me like how frusturating the epic was with updates. like i said tho it all depends when they release it, if its longer then 3 months then it might be too old too me. and wait...
Well I can't get a new phone until July, but this is great news! Now I know my next phone will be a quad-core 1.5GHz (or more) phone with an HD display, 12 MP camera, and LTE!

Interesting Find. AT&T Galaxy Note.

Was just going through my account and decided to check how much phones are at retail price, so I clicked my line for a upgrade knowing I'm not due for one, scrolled all the way to the bottom and noticed the Galaxy Note. Now here's the interesting part. I'm not due for an upgrade till December of this year. The Galaxy Note still says $299 if you preorder even if I'm not eligible for an upgrade.
I checked with an agent and she says that it's correct, even though I'm not eligible it's still available for $299. I think that is AWESOME.

I know right!
Yep. Will be interesting to see what market price does when they hit if this is true for all AT&T customers, or if you were just a special case How long have you been an AT&T customer for?

Yeah, I wonder if it's a loyalty sort of thing. Round up a few AT&T mates who aren't upgrade eligible and see what the verdict is. This could spell awesome things for Note development if it's AT&T-wide. At that price you'd be silly not to at least give it a whirl.
I know, it would be great for the community.
Come Monday I'm buying it. Lol

Mine says $299 too so maybe its just you?
Or maybe at&t is thanking their long time customers? I've been with them 10 years

If this is the case....Does it re-up the contract? I am only asking cause I have a friend (long time att customer) that is getting ready to ditch and I am wondering if I could have him pick me up one first...

I'm also getting the offer.
There's no way I'm eligible. I just upgraded to the GS2 in mid December and my contracts not up till mid-2013.
Maybe its a glitch? Lol
edit: I can't login either. Maybe they realized their mistake and shut down the site to prevent more people from buying?
