I there any way to record video @60 fps? Or to step down from full HD to 720p? I mean, I'd much rather have 720p @60fps instead of full HD @30fps. Having a full HD video recording on such small sensor and lens is like having 12+Mpix, total overkill (and quality goes down).

I had a sony camcorder that did 60fps at 720p and 30fps and the 60fps was so smooth against 30fps, it would be great to have 60fps on the s2! the video on the s2 has always been so choppy plus its not even a true 30fps ( Samsung lies about this )

You can try 720p @60fps with lgcamera app from market, i know it has this option in settings but im not sure if it is possible without modified kernel on GNote.

ORiginal desire got the ability to record 720p videos . Even iPhone 3gs which was able to record vga video was able to record in 720p after a work around.will it be possible on desire HD to record full hd 1080p videos with any kind of work around

I'm not a techie but 720p usually means 1280 by 720 pixels where 1080p means 1920 by 1080 pixels. It's quite a jump between those values and even with a workaround that quality could be poop
the sensor won't be better with any change
It will just use more space from the sdcard
The sensor is capable of recording 1080p, but the processor is not capable of encoding in full hd. So no - it's not possible.

i agree, the sensor is the same size so the image will just be stretched and more space used for the same image quality

Nope, if the processor was capable of encoding 1080p, the video won't be just an upsampled version of the 720p video. It would be a true 1080. It's not the sensor alone that's responsible for the video quality - there are the lenses and the hardware encoding. And these (especialy the lenses) have the negative impact on our video recording IMO.
If not full HD then least some workaround to improve the current state. Audio really suck and video I dark most of the times. Really disappointed with the video quality on desire HD

Htc have always had ****ty cameras. If you wanted a camera phone the dhd isn't the best option.

Someone Swyped my idea.
to be able to record in 1080p would be great enhance but I bet changing from stock sd card is required it seems. class to won't do good with 1080p recording. correct me if I'm wrong
I wouldn't have thought a Class 2 card would anywhere near fast enough for full HD.
would you really notice the difference from 720p to 1080p if shot through the same lens?

Not with these lenses
the lens is capable enough to record 1080p,its the processor issue, because the new galaxy s2 has 8mpixel camera aswell and is capable of recording in full hd 1080p,so i was wondering,if i overclock my cpu to 1.2ghz,which i already done, will there be a solution?

Galaxy S2 has a dual core CPU.
We would need that, if we ever manage to capture in 1080p it would just be a slideshow because the CPU cant keep up.
A bit late to this party, the last post was about six months old.

Using the video recording in 720p I have found that the fps of these videos is 24 fps.
Anyone else have a higher fps when recording in 720p and if we can record at higher fps in 720p recording mode?

question, why would you want to unless your looking for slow motion video playback?
in answer to your question, no you cant, the camera driver is the limiting factor, same reason we cant take wide screen photos
I bought myself a Note 3(N9005, 32GB version) few days ago, but since the beginning I have had a problem with recording 4K videos. To be exact, it doesn't record at the promised 45-50 mbps bitrate, instead it records at 10 mbps or even lesser bitrate. So my question would be, how can I fix that?
All the other featured modes are working flawlessly. Would really appreciate some help. The phone is not rooted or customized in any way.
Thanks in advance!

Did you set it up for 4k in settings
Yes, under the video resolution section I chose 3840x2160. Is there supposed to be some more options to improve the quality?

Do you have a 4k TV if not you won't see any difference between 4k then 1080p
^ um WRONG. And that has nothing to do with this topic

Downscaled 4K looks much better though, so there is a huge benefit in making 4K videos. Anyway it seems like those crappy units of Note 3-s made their way only to Estonia, since me and shizny are both from Estonia and there is no more information about that problem on the internet, atleast I couldn't find absolutely nothing on such weirdness.
Actually jaythenut is correct. Though the Note 3 is capable of recording video for playback on a 4K TV your device having only a 1080p display is not going to appear different at all.
The Note 3 plays back recorded 4K Video in 1080p on both the phone and any other playable media device as it can't process anything higher than that.
Your better off recording videos in 1080p at the now 60f/s.

no one is right.
quality of recorded videos playback is not the same as seen on youtube, by other peeps recordings.
check the quality, bitrate of 4K recorded video on my device is 6000kbps, 1080p is 15000kbps.
If you think a little logically then how come 4K recorded video is worse than 1080p? Even the playback quality is worse, not only on the device itself, but also on monitor.
Have you ever watched 1080p video on 720 display? Any difference? Video is crispy and detailed, Now how about 520p video on 1080p screen?
Now this is the same as my 4K recording on 1080p screen.
Either the device is faulty and cannot record/play 4K videos or sample videos made on youtube are actually 1080p.
This is really strange. I'm from Estonia as well and I'm facing the exact same problems. All my 4K videos look like 240p ones or even worse.
(Can't post the full YT links because of my postcount, but here's the v-codes)
watch?v=4iEt7lGGPqk- 4K sample
watch?v=4fryaJ6cfw4 - 1080p sample for comparison
I can't find anything on the internet regarding this subject, does anyone have any idea what the hell is going on? I sent an email to Samsung support about this as well.
the same problem here (lithuania), firmware N9005XXUBMJ1
Wait for while there will b some patches to fix it.all devices havr same problem
Same here. 4K recording quality (and, of course, bitrate) is awful. Videos looks like 240p.
Lithuania, baseband N9005XXUBMJ1.
EDIT: Ok, it seems that this is common issue with particular batch of this model (maybe it only affects the Baltic countries), and service centers are aware of this problem.
Left my phone for warranty repairs...

Hi, I shoot video with the stock camera app in 1080p 30fps HDR. Is there a way to force the app to record in 24/25 fps? Or is there any other app that records 1080p 24/25 fps HDR?
Why should you need 24 fps? These video are not converted from a 24 fps motion picture film, so there are no framing conversion problems that require a 1080p/24 video format.
25 fps: this is a PAL derived format, but all 1080p FullHD certified TV sets or monitors must accept both formats (30 and 25), and 30 is always better than 25...

Because I like the feel of 24 fps much better (if shot with 180 degree shutter, in this case 1/50). 30 fps looks kinda like a soap opera, but I really don't want to go into this, I know what I want, I just don't know if it's possible with the S7 Edge.
I've never seen a smartphone which is able to record 1080p/24 fps.
LG V10 does
