[Q] Wireless tethering on a US quantum? - Quantum General

I saw some time ago that there was a firmware for the lg quantum to get wireless tethering...
I don't remember for which country it was , but I know it wasn't for the US quantum...
Is there anyway to install that firmware if I don't have a quantum that is from the same country?

it was the telstra one. i do remember that a few people just flashed a telstra rom and succeeded to get the upgraded firmware including wifi tethering.
just try.

[Q] What to check before trying a new rom?

Hello all,
I just inherited a Samsung GT-S5360L phone from my father and i wanted to try some roms. Some of the available roms seem pretty cool, but i have noticed a small detail, my phone model ends with an L, and the roms available dont.
This is probably because my cellphone is a southamerican model. So, My main question is, what should i check before flashing a rom into my S5360L in order to avoid problems?
I am mainly worried about loosing the 3G signal (or the whole phone signal) if i flash an incorrect rom. I read some posts that said that i should use a specic CSC.
Can anyone explain to me a litle more about this? Do i need to flash the ROM and my original CSC files in order for the rom to work with my operators, or the process is different?
Thanks in advance.
Solution!
Sir,
You must have bought your Galaxy Y with some Carrier! That why it end with a "L", But that does not matter! To prevent bricking ur phone just follow the correct installation instruction.. If you brick your GY there is a guide in the general section to restore back! Make a Nandroid Backup first of all and then Flash GT-S5360 Firmware (The one preferred in the Rom's installation guide I hope this helps! As much as I know, all roms will work :fingers-crossed:

to ensure installation success please download "Galaxy Toolbox" by doky in the playstore and unlock your network (if it is sim/carrier locked)
then follow all instructions provided by the rom authors to ensure success,
if in case all else fails just reflash to a stock rom via odin, not to worry since any stock rom will do
thanks for the information guys. I know any rom should work, i do it in mi LG Optimus2x but i had a samsung phone before (galaxy spica) and i had some troubles after flashing some custom roms, where i would only be able to have 2G signal and not 3G, or in some cases have no connectivity at all. I will give some roms a try and see how everyhting goes (and do a backup first, hehehe).
thanks again.

[Q] note3 n9008 available roms?

Hi guys, my dad is bring a n9008 back from China. It has the qualcom 800 cpu onboard. I have done alot research on this phone, and only found the guide to root and flash recovery. So my question is: is it possible to flash roms made for other variants( such as n9005) onto n9008? Since the n9008 won't support the wifi calling from TMO, i would rather put a CM or AOSP on it.

as always, you got your phone from china, get help there, in other words, if you want support, get yor phones in your own country, imagine this, you will get a warranty also, is not that amazing?, yes you save some money buying overseas, or from a no one knows about seller, but, at the end, you get no support, think abot that in the future,
Pray its not a fake

well i got the phone as a gift. so its not my choice at first place.
so far i'm able to install all of the n9005 roms(x note, omega, lidroid) and everything works flawlessly.
the tmobile rom can be installed normally, but i just cant turn on the wifi( it stucks at turning on screen)
anyone got a solution to that?
Now you can install a CM11 ROM!
I too have been given a GN3 as a gift but it's the N9008 model.
I tried flashing the latest N9005 KK stock firmware, but I had no luck.
Do you know if there's a possibility of "changing" the model to a N9005? Hardware wise I believe they are exactly the same?
I imagine LTE is also not on this particular model? Am I correct to say that all Snapdragons are capable of having LTE? Would it be the firmware that "enables" LTE?
I don't really want to be on the Chinese firmware.
I've rooted the device and got gapps on their, but I'd rather a proper international firmware.
If anybody can help, it'd be great.

[HELP] [Q] No Mobile Data Signal

Hi,
I recently was getting frustrated with the ROM Gummy. ROM GUMMY: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563973) so i wanted to try something new and never thought i'd get a problem as when i flashed GUMMY it was so simple and everything worked.
However, when i flashed to the ROM S4 Google Edition: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544474) i noticed my signal / network won't stay connected. It may work for 2mins then disconnect - so i tried another ROM thinking it was caused by the S4 Google Edition.
I'm now currently on KOT49H【4.4.2】Google Play Edition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557353) and still getting no signal, only if i keep changing it to automatically find a network.
I've been reading it could do with Modems, or have i really messed something up and won't be able to fix my phone? I'm sort of new to this all so if you could explain more than tell me to do something that would be great.
Phone: Samsung S4 i9505
Baseband Version: i9505DVUBMGG1
Network Provider: GiffGaff (o2 Company)
Any help would be great.

You have to flash a new modem for 4.4 like nb9. If you have a bootloader without knox, flash only the modem.bin file. If you have knox, flash modem and non-HLOS.bin. there's a nice modem thread in the general section.:good:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025

OTA Just right now, android 5.0 lollipop 22.21.17.en.MX Im not in any soak list.
My device is a Moto X XT1097 Pure Edition
I haven't apply it becouse I'm not sure how to root it after the update.

You're on nextel carrier branded ? Can you put this ota on 1097 from carrier ?
It's the same model xt1097, as far as I know the only diference between the stock ROM and the carrier's ROM is the internet settings and stuff. Nextel Doesn't push bloatware or such so I'm guessing they just load some settings and rebrand the sistem version. I'm on 21.27.3, maybe the baseband could bring some problems I don't know... but I'm pretty shure it will work. I've been flashing stuff in carrier models for a while know and besides internet settings I've never had more problems
If somebody knows me wrong please correct me
So, how do we flash this?

I think you only have to check your APN settings. If you have an US model just make shure you're flashing the proper zip for your model. Carriers just add apps and stuff nobody use.
Think of it as installing CyanogenMod, everyone around the world has installed it and yet there aint carrier versions. Everything is about the model, not the carrier.
Anyway, whatever you decide to do you're doing it at your own risk. I'm waiting a couple of days to hear from my carrier so I can't give any help until I do the proces my self.
