Anyone know where I can get a decent case for my Hero? All the ones I've found online are £20ish and enclose the entire phone. I want one that allows you to use the phone while it's still in the case.
Seen a lot of ebay for £2.99 but they are all from Hong Kong with up to 14 days for delivery, I may have scratched it by then!
You could opt for one of the "invisible" plastic wraps that are available - they start at about £10, but stops the phone getting scratched at all...
Try Mobilefun.co.uk too, they always seem good for accessories:

I've ordered one of those dodgy silicon ones from Hong Kong, it will hopefully he here within the next week. I'll post a quick review when I get it.

I have the one from MobileFun, it arrived this morning having ordered it yesterday afternoon. I got the clear one as I have a graphite hero and it fits perfectly. Has a couple of "notches" in it so you can still use the volume rocker effectively and the holes for the camera and mic etc all line up perfectly.
I highly recommend it, think it was £12.45 including delivery, which as stated was very fast, so good value too.
There is a similar on eBay to the one on MobileFun for £2.95 inc postage and the seller is based in the uk

My Hong Kong case arrived today 7 days after ordering and I have to say I'm impressed. It's a good fit and has all the relevant holes and indentations. It covers right to the screen edges.

I got the gel case from Mobilefun and made a mistake, ordering the black rather than the clear case. I am delighted with it - the thing arrived the next day, fits like a glove and the black is more of a tint, so my white Hero looks mighty fine in it. Highly recommended...

What does A6262 mean? I went to ebay and found some Hero's that has A6262 and it shows on their description that you can use 3G in the US (American Version). Does anybody know about this? Thanks

A6262 is a model number, same as the diamond was the T7272
i very much doubt that it is an American one as it has not been released yet and is probably a pre-order or a scam.

the box mine came in says A6262, and mine is a white UK SIM-FREE Hero.

If you read the auction, it clearly states way down at the bottom that it is not compatible with US 3G. The auction is just stating what the US bands are, not that the device is compatible with them.
I think this thread should be closed before it creates a whole muss of confusion over the inability to actually read something the whole way through.
Also, A6262 is the model number. A quick google search would have pulled that up as well.
it's still bogus though,surely? A UK "never opened" model can't be brown and unlocked, can it? isn't the white the only one that's available sim-free in the UK?
it could have been unlocked, reflashed, etc, but then it wouldn't be "never opened"

It's not brown - it's black, as per the Ebay auction title. It just has a stock picture of a brown hero. Plenty of places seem to be selling black sim-free Hero's.

I have a UK hero and it is the same code as posted by op, i got mine from mobiles.co.uk its unlocked as i have tried orange and o2 sims and it says brown but looks more black to me with a brown bezel round it.

I see that neither of: Expansys, Handtec, Amazon, Insight, mobilephonesdirect - all official HTC retailers - offer a black Hero in the UK.
Expansys are the only ones offering brown, but have none in stock (6 day lead time), whereas they have hundreds of white in stock.
Handtec explicitly note that the brown model is not available in the UK.
The others offer solely white (in sim-free).

Our stock of both pink and brown (no sniggering at the back) is sourced directly from HTC and so is generic, unlocked. However we only supply it on contract.

just read it in the news: sony officially announced the releasedate for the xperia z in germany to be the 21th of february. but at this date, only in berlin.
on the 22nd, it'll be available in stores everywhere in germany.

I ordered it through a danish company that get their phones from Germany ( I live in Norway).
According to them I'm supposed to recieve it 7-9 days from now.
I could have pre ordered it from Norway but they have expected dates of 7th of march, and so far none have offered the purple one.
Although I have no confirmation for this I have a strong feeling the dk26 will be bundled.
Norwegian hands on review shows this, and I've read that people in France, Germany and others also will get this.

I will probably check a bit more around during the weekend if there is anywhere to get the purple one.

Definitely uppie :good:! it's really an awesome device! Love it even more every minute. but maybe i'm the wrong benchmark, because i'm coming from a good old htc hd2 (leo).
i ordered the black one, 'cause i think it's the most elegant and timeless color. the white one looks nice, too, but the black screen on the front...
the purple one is a nice one also, but i'm afraid after a few month i'll be fed up by this color.
i don't regret purchasing this phone. it's just brilliant in my opinion.

I have the Blue one on O2 in the UK.
I have the Blue one - I'm from Denmark.
The blue one has only been shipped in small numbers to a select few stores, it should become available somewhere in the middle of May. The Gold one is not available yet and should see deliveries near the end of May.

Ah! They probably shipped a few of those to select markets as well, then. I don't actually have direct insight into the shipment files, I just go by what I know from providers and a few big companies.
I've had the blue one for a week now (O2 UK) I pre-ordered the day before the Black & white ones were being released as I got a good deal. I'm not sure why there was a delay cos as far as i can tell the only difference between the black & blue one is the back cover i.e. nothing else is blue on the phone. Ok the box has a blue bit on it.
the first thing I did was to put the phone in a Spigen Neo Hybrid case (which is really cool) so I can see any of the blue anyhow...

I have Gold - it`s not a fake
Got mine yesterday, really fast delivery from China and arrived in Dublin on Monday via DHL , had to pay €53.25 customs fees just when i thought i was getting away with it!!
Anyway ill list the pros and cons so far
PROS - Fast and responsive with no lag, especially with Nova launcher
Haven't taken many photos but the camera seems excellent and a massive step up from my One Plus One which ill be selling
Looks really smart with Android L, really nice interface
The phone is a perfect size and looks really nice
Addition of micro sim and dual sim is excellent and should be standard thesedays
Audio sounds good
CONS - The back looks nice but it's just plastic, i dont know why but i thought this was supposed to be aluminium so im a tad disappointed and premium design phones are the way forward the front looks lovely however
I dont know why but ive had the occasional FC on the play store and this shouldn't happen on a brand new phone
Not many but bloody chinese apps came pre loaded and are i dont appear to be able to uninstall them all
The power button up the top is a pain and will take a while getting used to, what the hell is wrong with the side
For come reason my contacts didn't sync from Google everything else did, ive tried a few things no luck so far so im hoping i can sort this out.

Cant comment yet im still in the process of setting it up and downloading all my app and ill have to bluetooth photos/videos/music from my One Plus One to this phone and most important find a fix for my contacts not syncing but in general im very impressed, it;s so responsive and smooth

thats really a pity
but from gearbest that one is Taiwanese version, no Playstore and only 1,8ghz. but I have heard you can put Worldwide firmware on it, so it can support EU bands and have playstore?

I got the one from gearbest.com also thought I was getting 2.3GHz processor but only got 1.8GHz still has 4GB ram and 32GB storage. agreed phone is quick, and agree mostly with impressions above. Screen is also a little dull to me and viewing angles are not great. Just ran and antutu and it got 41672. My Note 3 with Cyanogenmod got 42212.
Tried 1080p videos and YouTube and works without any glitches also played Real Racing 3 and it had no glitches or stutters. The plastic back makes my hand sweat for whatever reason but a case would fix anyways. Camera works great and takes better pics than my Note 3. Am on T-mobile USA and because Chinese firmware only getting 3G/H+ good coverage area gets me around 12mb down and 2mb up.
Probably going to sell it and stick with my Note 3 until something better comes along.

You must have the Chinese version because the Taiwanese version have the Google services pre-installed.
The one from Gearbest.com is China version. I can confirm.

If I understood correctly, Chinese version is from Gearbest and that one doesnt have play store and is only 1,8ghz
yes it is the chinese version i have and im fuming here google play was continuously force closing so i uninstalled it and sideloaded the apk which installs ok but when i click on it it wont open, ive tred clearing cache and data, uninstalling and re installing but to no avail so im left with a phone in which i cannot install my apps, ****ing disaster after my initiak post when i was fairly happy earlier the minute i turned the phone on to finish setting up the problems started, it's looking likely ill have to send it back, theres no way im paying customs fees again and they cay refund me for the postage and either send me a non chinese version with google play instaslled or refund me my money.
unless anyone has other ideas in the meantme

ridiculous you have to do this just to get the play store but it works,,,however it's now asking me again to pay for the apps which ive already paid for, anyone know how i can resolve this?
im returning mine to Gearbeast i sent them a message and they responded fairly quickly and said they'd send me a European model which they should have done in the first place, they are expecting me to pay for postage too im going to demand they refund me this and pay any other customs fees , clearly they should not have sent people outside China the Chinese model with no play store which is a nightmare.
Asides from that it's a cracking phone, but when available im going to purchase an aluminium back cover whenever i get my European model sent to me.

The eBay ones seem to be the best so far, as they are the Taiwanese version which means 4G on T-Mobile PLUS its the 2.3GHz instead of the 1.8GHz ... on top of all that, it has the Play Store and Google framework installed. ...... At least, that's what I've come up with reading on the forums the past couple of days. Hopefully they're all true.
