Extreme Battery Drain with Rooted N2E - Nook Touch General

I noticed that my rooted N2E drains all the battery in less than 24 hours. So I charged it up again 3 times. Same thing happened. Flat in 24 hours.
Restored back to stock... after 24 hours, battery only drops 2%.
After 48 hours, only drops 5%... so it should be able to run up to 40 days if the percentage is to be trusted.
So I re-rooted it :
1st 12 hours - drain 2%... looking good.
Another 12 hours... dropped to 1% and totally drained and gave the battery too low to start message on the screen.
Anyone have any idea if it is a battery stats issue that I should reset the battery stats? (not sure how to do this, I could do it with CWR on Nook Color)

Just tried rooting again...
1. Booted touchnooter 1.6.24 ...
2. At the "dots screen" after "Rooted Forever" it simply got stuck there for more than 45 minutes.
3. Rebooted again to the touchnooter 1.6.24...
4. Successfully rooted.
5. Noticed that the battery drain is getting quite high again. Unit is quite warm to the touch too.
6. I have not installed anything from Market so this should not be a problem with application conflict
7. Noticed that my serial number which was there in Step 1 is now all "0"s.
Can any one else check if their unit serial number is affected by touchnooter 1.6.24?

Anyone here see this issue?

If you have any sync services enabled, for example any accounts in Accounts and Sync, this could be preventing the unit from going to sleep. I have seen rapid battery-drain when an app or activity prevents the unit from going to sleep.
One way to get to the Accounts and Sync pref is through the GMail app, Account Settings. (Currently, mine crashes when I try to load up the Accounts and Sync pref, one of the apps I've installed doesn't correctly handle a SyncAdapter intent, and I haven't had a chance to narrow it down to which one.)

Well, right after I rooted with touchnooter 1.6.24 on nook 1.0.1 update, I've got all 0 serial number, but after reinstalling the touchnooter again, the SN came back, so did market download. Try it.
And I never had issues after rooting. And when it went bad, it took me no more than a couple of hours for rerooting, so I didn't check on battery life...

Yes, I saw the battery draining really quickly and decided to unroot the device... I knew it was beacause of all the auto-starting applications that were keeping the device awake, such as skype, k9 mail, gmail, email and others... I could only remove some and decided to unroot it until i can learn more about the whole thing...
The battery monitor was saying that most of the draining was due to 'telephone' type of activity... Not sure...
I may decide to root it more manually and install only a couple of things... A good browser, kindle app and a few other readers should be enough... Maybe an email app that does not poll the network all the time...
Thanks!

How do we stop apps from autobooting?

Download titanium backup, pro i suppose and select option Bloat app. (i think it is it)

Critical SyncManager Bug in JI6

There is a critical bug in JI6 with the SyncManager and Exchange Push synching. Periodically it will turn into a run away process while synching. The process will get stuck downloading and uploading over 3G.
It is critical because it makes the phone very hot to the touch, rapidly drains battery, and uses a lot of data. The process will not stop until the battery is dead. It happened last night to me, and from a 100% charged battery, I woke up to 5% while on the charger and a critical low battery warning. Looking at T-Mo's data tracking, it used 60MB of data.
Has anyone else had this issue? Where can I officially report this issue to T-Mobile/Samsung?
I've seen a similar issue, and don't know a way around it.
I thought you might be on to something, and you are, certainly.
I turned off sync for email this morning, saved my settings, hit home, killed all running processes, and returned to the settings to double check, and none of the settings had taken. I repeated this process thinking maybe I missed the "save" the first time around, and yielded the same results.
So... I deleted the corporate email acct. saved my settings, hit home, killed all running processes, and returned to the settings yet again, and noticed it had restarted itself with no account to sync.
I have no advice on how to solve this, I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus. Maybe someone smarter than both of us know of a solution.
To note: Odin JI6 flash, JI2 modem, Bionix Fusion 1.1 ROM, 2G only, all DRM .apk's removed via root explorer, all sync to manual, and 1 hour off charger, down to 76% from fully charged. My opinion? Vibrant firmware fail.
My solution so far has been to kill the running process for the SyncManager, and then go launch Email and hit refresh. That tends to fix it until the next time it runs away.
Here's how I identify it:
1. 3G logo constantly has upload and download arrows turned on.
2. Phone gets hot.
3. No email is received.
I can work around the battery use. The big concern to me is the data use. It is simply a waste of data and I don't want to hit the 5 GB limit.
I have the same issue. I thought I had fixed it a couple days ago because it didn't happen for two days. I had taken out the battery for about ten minutes. But this morning it did it again. It seems to happen alot immediately after being taken off the charger. Although that's not the only time it happens.
We really need a solution to this as you have to babysit your phone at all times to make sure it's not going berserk and draining your battery.
Joel
I re-setup my corporate account with neither the security or accept all certificates options set, and it's not as bad. I.E. battery usage down to reasonable drain and phone no longer hot to the touch. My IT guy theorized that since it's checking for SSL it could get stuck in a loop, and runaway.
<shrugs>
In the meantime I found a 3500 battery/new back on ebay and clicked buy now.
So has anyone found a fix for this problem yet?

[Q] Battery drain from Android OS, suspend, and event/0

I know this issue has been posted in forums for other devices, but I haven't seen anything about it for NC. I did try to search the NC forums but couldn't find anything that seemed to address this problem.
I am using MIUI 1.7.22. I have noticed significant battery drain due to Android OS (in battery stats), suspend (in the systempanel app), and event/o (also in systempanel). I have disabled auto-sync and any apps that appear to be likely culprits (those that might attempt to download data). This problem seems to appear with wifi on or off, and when on, I have tried both setting it to never turn off and to turn off when the screen is off. Initially I was experiencing battery drain due to cell standby, which I took care of by disabling the telephony provider, phone, and mms apks. I know many don't believe this has an effect, but I did it anyway. The cell standby drain is gone, but now I'm fighting the drain due to these other factors. Has anyone found a fix for this?
After scouting around for info, I have tried some suggestions seen elsewhere: rebooting and wiping dalvik cache. So far today I haven't had any Android OS, etc. issues. Standby life with screen off is as it should be (for now and hopefully forever)--very slow battery drain.
This is with wifi set to never shut off, which I prefer.
Suspend etc. came back last night although not as extreme as before. Hopefully some other folks will have things to add to this thread. I will continue posting progress info as I learn more about this.
From the code.google.com forums:
Confirm heavy battery drain with enabled Location & Security -> Use wireless networks / Use GPS satellites. I've disable both options and now my battery life is normal.
With enabled "Location & Security" options battery eaten by "Android OS" process (about 40-55%).
I will try this and report back.
Disabling WIFI and GPS in location/security had no effect. There appears to be a google process that prevents the system from sleeping.
I was still experiencing random battery drain due to Android OS, suspend, event/0 after switching to cm7. One suggestion I read was to disable calendar sync, as this appears to be a runaway process that attempts to connect to the server constantly without allowing the device to sleep. Doing this allowed me to get through the night with very little drain and the Android OS, etc. processes were finally behaving (within normal limits).
I'm not sure if anyone is reading this thread but I will continue to update until I figure out the solution, as I imagine this problem will become more noticeable to others who are equally frustrated with this issue.
Having same problems on my galaxy s2. Lots of people have this problem and think it's a problem with the os. What os version are you using?

Right now I'm using cm7 (2.3.5) but I was using MIUI before. Turning off calendar sync has worked well so far.
I had bad battery drain in the past and no deep sleep. but what worked for me was not to use any live wall paper. this fixed my deep sleep issues. for the battery drain, re-set your battery stats and re boot a couple of times for the stats to settle down. also check google map and latitude. in latitude just log out. un-checking sync in my yahoo email app also helped with my battery drain. my wifi is set at, off with screen. I went from 20 -30% drain in 7hrs to now 1-3% in 7hrs
I hope any of this info can help

Thank you, boxcar. I had tried all of those things (froze live wallpaper, reset battery stats, reboot, froze maps and latitude) but the only thing that worked for me was unchecking the box for calendar sync. Email sync and wifi appear to be non-issues--no difference between off or on. Evidently this google calendar sync bug is a known issue (that very few people seem to know about!). I hope google will fix this soon.
I also have same problem on my Galaxy S2. These two(events/0, suspend) drain many battery, 14% one night, without WIFI, GPS, Bluetooth.
I'll keep on tracing this issue, and share the result in this thread.

Turning off autosync seems to help the most (although setting WIFI to turn off when the screen turns off appears to help, as well). I tried using an autosync toggle but just turning it on at all seemed to result in a gradual creeping up of the Android OS, etc. problems. Manual sync of calendar and perhaps gmail and contacts seems to be the way to go. For some reason, exchange mail set to push results in no problems. The other trick I've found is to go to applications, then calendar and calendar storage, and force stop, delete cache, and THEN manual sync of calendar (reboot, recovery, wipe dalvik, fix permissions are good ideas, too). When I flash nightlies, I go through this process and the offending processes work as they should. If I don't, problems appear sooner or later.
I've had my nook on for 9 hours now, WIFI on (off with screen off) and 30 minutes of display on time. I've lost 9%, so I think I'm on the right track. This is how it should work, I.think. Of course, the results SHOULD be the same with autosync on, but manual sync for good battery life is an acceptable small tradeoff in my opinion.

For the noobs in the audience, how exactly does one turn off autosync? Where is it located?
Thanks in advance.

Menu, settings, accounts and sync (I leave background data checked).
I found part of the root cause, maybe some old application - can work on new version, but drain many battery. Today I uninstalled the 'Android photo widget', then only 1% battery has been drained within 2 hours when standby. Not totally solved the issue, but seems OK.
I guess you can also try this, find another 'bad' application which drains your battery.
Well guys, I'm not sure if I'm the last Nook Color user to continue fighting with this super annoying headache (I know SGS2 users are, too), but I think I'm on to something. I thought calendar sync was the culprit (and perhaps it was), but the Android OS drain (featuring nemeses suspend and event/0) would not go away and the arrival of this problem continued to be (apparently) random. I had an idea that, if the calendar sync kept alternating between suspend and event/0, perhaps this was due to old events that caused the sync process to continue longer than it would normally. So, based on this idea and logic, I changed my exchange e-mail account settings to sync email from the last month rather than to sync all mail. Looking at my work e-mail history, I realized I had e-mails in various folders and sent mail from as far back as 2001! Although it's nice to be able to access all e-mail history, perhaps the polling services were constantly monitoring the activity of super old emails and folders, which caused the suspend and event/0 processes to flip out. I don't know if this is the way Android actually works but it seemed logical to me. Well, for the last 24 hours, I have intermittently checked my cpu activity through systempanel, and what do you know, when the device is not being used, suspend and event/0 work as they are supposed to and Android OS stays low in the battery % list. PLEASE let this be the fix! I know there are other factors that contribute to the acting out of these processes, but on a stripped down device with no autosync or widgets and no out of control services identified in systempanel or watchdog, there can't be many other explanations. I'm curious if others with this problem have similar settings on their email accounts. In all the forums on different sites (and I've read a ton of them), I've never seen anything like this mentioned.

Please vote there, and, may be, Google will fix it.
For those still following this thread, here's a tip. Use Gemini app manager (in the market). This has been one of the best tools I've found for managing wakelock issues and battery drain during standby. It allows you to identify apps that start up on their own (more than you think) and prevent them from starting randomly. In my experience this has been a huge cause of the standby drain problem showing up as Android OS, suspend, and event/0 in battery monitors. I'm currently sitting on 81% battery remaining with over 1 hour of screen time after 21 hours since my last charge. I know it's not a lot of usage but it's the standby time that's fantastic.

I've a Galaxy S2. Tried everything, except disable autosync. Was losing 30-40% battery at night. So far since turning off google sync I'm getting about <1% battery use an hour. Will see if it continues. Thanks.

Massive battery drain

Hey guys. Recently my battery has been dying at an alarming rate. According to BBS it's from a process called diagnostics.client.Wakelock, does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?
I started noticing the drain after setting up my Galaxy Gear, don't know if that may have something to do with it.
Thanks!

I am seeing the same wakelock keeping my device awake and hence draining the battery while in standby. Found nothing else on the web other than this forum
Why don't you ask in the BBS thread, i think you'll get more responses there.

I am facing a huge battery drain as well after the recent update was pushed. I don't have the "diagnostics.client.Wakelock" in BBS but Samsung Push Service was hogging a lot so I turned that off. It was 80% at 11PM and today morning it was down to 59% .. that's 21% in standby mode. Is it not going into sleep mode or is something else causing this? I have almost everything turned off. Any ideas guys? Thank you.
MJ7? (not sure why but like other people remarked - the battery life looks to have somewhat declined - 30-60% less?)

Yes MJ7. I hope this is a bug that can get fixed sooner than later. It's horrible. I just got 1h 37mins of screen time and now I am down to 12%. Just a few calls and some Instagram. Nothing else. Would removing the battery for a while or something help? I haven't installed any app since updating to MJ7 (2 days ago).
I've had this issue with MI7 and MJ7 so the update is not the problem. My guess is me freezing most of the samsung bloat on the phone through Titanium is causing this. Maybe there's a process trying to find something thay I froze?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I fixed it by charging my battery up to 90% then removed the battery and kept it aside for a while ~10 mins and then plugged it back in and charged it to 100%. Now it seems to be normal again. No drain last night. Moved only 1% from 12AM to 9PM. Cheers!
I have the same issue with MJ7 firmware; the phone sometimes doesn't get into deep sleep while the screen is off.
A possible cause of the issue: switch off wifi when data are off.
So now I switch data on before turning wifi off.
Anyone ever find a solution to this? It's killing me.
Same here, my battery declines almos 1% every 5 minutes just texting via Whatsapp and I know Whatsapp is not the guilty. Using Wakelock monitor shows 30% Android System usage with a lot of entries in Gpslocationprovider (even with GPS off and everything on Location settings off), SyncloopWakelock and AlarmManager... MJ7 here too... My Note2 wasn't like this... I finished the day with 5% of baterry after heavy use from 8am til 10pm (including 45' watching videos)... With my Note3 at mid-day I have my battery death!! I can't believe it! and I don't know what is happening (I only have 4 days with my new Note 3) and I have tried almost everything (deactivating) except wipe data/factory reset (I've tried soft reset and nothing)
Anyone ever find a solution to this wakelock?
anyone find a solution?
Delete Google search from system apps and deleted Google play services. Redownload both from play store. Seems to help.

I noted that my GN3 would have great and then poor battery drainage. It seemed to happen right after my first long call of the day. I noted in my wakelock app that diagnostics.client.wakelock was using a lot of time.
I decided to take more drastic action by doing a factory reset and restoring apps one by one. I first used Kingo Root to root my GN3. I had to uninstall Kies and the Samsung driver to get the rooting to work.
Then I backed up with Helium and Titanium backup.
After a factory reset, my battery usage was about 0.2 percent per hour. I use only data and no wifi.
I have now restored most of my apps and still have 0.3 percent per hour usage. I have not updated any Samsung or ATT apps.except for ATT code scanner. i have not "used" any of the google apps except for gmail, search, google+ (signed out). Google music is turned off.
Diagnostics.client.wakelock still shows up but with low time now.
After twelve hours, the GN3 is at 96 percent including a two minute phone call and email updates.
------
After a long phone call, I once again saw my battery usage increase and stay up after the phone call.
-----
I re-started with a factory reset and only restored the minimum apps that I use to browse, email, text, phone, and backup.
So far it is performing well in battery usage.
I will be adding more apps until I find the one that breaks the good performance.
-----
So far I have been able to make it through 24 hours using only TEN percent battery usage. I have added TextPlus, BofA, drippler, Helium, Titanium Backup Pro, CPU Spy Plus, Wakelock Detector, System Tuner Pro, Battery Monitor Pro, AutoBluetooth, Maps, Youtube, YP, Total Commander, Visual Voicemail, Quick Boot, Root Checker, Turn Off Screen. Everything else is stock without updating AT&T apps or Samsung apps.
I am seeing an idle usage of less than 0.3% and that is with two widgets for Battery Monitor and System Tuner. They and Textplus use up the most power. I also talked on the phone via bluetooth for about 30 minutes.
I still get the diagnostic.client.wakelog but only getting about 5 percent awake time.
-----
I did another factory reset. This time I did not allow any app updates.
I installed Titanium Backup, CPU Spy Plus, Wakelock Detector, Battery Monitor Widget Pro.
I have not seen a diagnostic.client.wakelock at all after one hour of use.
-----
I added TextPlus, System Tuner Pro. I put the widgets to System Tuner pro and Battery Monitor on the home screen.
I have not updated any apps since the reset.
I have counted about 7 diagnostic.client.wakelocks for a total of 4 seconds of wake time. My wake time percentage since yeaterday is around 1 percent.
I plan to update apps one at a time to see which one kills the battery usage with wake locks.
I just added AT&T Visual Voicemail, PayPal, BofA, and Evernote to my GN3.
The diagnostics.client.wakelock started climbing and keeping my phone from sleeping.
Uninstalling the four apps did not help.
I think that the problem is with the Visual Voicemail.
----
Factory reset my phone and am back to 1 percent wake state and very low battery drain.
----
The cause of the bad wakelock was due to restoring APP+DATA in Titanium Backup. I did that to save setup steps.
I had restored BofA and Shazam with data and the wakelocks started up.
After I factory reset again, I installed apps the normal way and have been seeing a 0.3 percent use per hour.
Samsung's own software is most garbage in my opinion.
If you use ChatOn and Samsung Hub, etc, disabling this may have an impact.
Here's how I've solved the problem with this pig of an app.
1) go to application manager under settings.
2) go to the "ALL" tab
3) find that "samsung push service"
4) uninstall - this will only uninstall the updates. Once all the very useful updates are gone, the option changes to disable.
5) disable and good riddance.
On a side note, search for this on the playstore. the reviews are hilarious.
c.
Nothing I had tried up to today has fixed my battery drain and diagnostics.client.wakelock issue.
However, today, I got a software update OTA (nb4) on my phone and it appears the problem is fixed.

[Q] sudden drop in battery life

I've got the 16gb nexus 7 (non 3g).
I've had it for less then a year and the battery life had been great. But starting over the last few days the battery is horrible. After a full charge over night my battery was down to 50% today. And that's with hardly any use. I used it for maybe an hour total and at least half of that time was just reading reddit.
I haven't changed any settings recently. This is all stock, no mods, not even rooted.
The battery usage right new says it's been 13 hours, and it's down to 48% and Android os accounts for 27% Followed by screen at 18% and WiFi at 9%. Those are the top 3 showing for battery usage.
Any suggestions as to what's going wrong it how to diagnose be fix it?
Thanks
Either your battery is bad or you have a stray process running somewhere. You might want to factory reset it, possibly even reflash your image.

Would the battery go bad that fast though? In my experience batteries usually gradually get worse. This went from losing a few percent of power to losing half power in the span of a day.
I might try the factory reset - just have to make sure everything is backed up. This tablet isn't rooted so i dont have titanium backup on it.

Doubtful it's the battery... my money is on a rogue app!!!
Hi, merkk...
It's possible, that as the previous poster suggests, some rogue app is 'eating' your battery.
The biggest consumer of power is the screen, so ensure you haven't got it set it maximum brightness... and ensure auto-brightness is enabled in settings.
Another thing you can check, is your WiFi setting... on my Nexus 7, I have 'Keep WiFi on during Sleep' set to 'Never'... it's not a setting that is easily found - it's buried in SETTINGS>>Wi-Fi>>overflow MENU (three dots, top right hand corner)>>ADVANCED>>Keep WiFi on during Sleep.
It also might be worth checking if the SYNCING of your respective accounts (Google, Twitter, etc.), haven't been inadvertently changed. Particularly the SYNCING of your Google account... which by default, SYNCs a lot of stuff and frequently. This will keep WiFi awake, and may cause battery drain. Go to SETTINGS>>ACCOUNTS>>GOOGLE and disable what you don't need to be SYNCed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's unfortunate that your Nexus 7 isn't rooted, because there are a couple of excellent diagnostic apps available (GSam Battery Monitor and BetterBatteryStats) which provide more granular and finely detailed battery info/history than the standard Android battery info screen... and are useful for tracking down problematic apps that might be keeping the device unnecessarily awake ('wakelocks', etc.).
However, due to changes in Android 4.4 (KitKat), these apps now require root access to read and report battery stats info.
If your Nexus 7 is running any version of Android BEFORE 4.4 KitKat (and some haven't updated yet), then you don't need root to run these diagnostic apps.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's sometimes the case, with Android, that there will be occasional peculiarities with battery performance... and in my experience, it's almost always the case, it's due to something the user did... some app or widget installed. I'm currently experiencing similar battery issues on my Samsung Galaxy S3, but having run GSam for a couple of days, I think I have the culprit identified. If I can't eliminate the problem, I'll uninstall the app.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope my ruminations are of some use.
Rgrds,
Ged.
Gedblake, thanks for the suggestions. For whatever reason, today it seems to be back to normal. The only thing i did last night was drain the batter to around 10%, turn it off, and let it charge while turned off.
Turned it back on today, used it for about 15 minutes or so playing a game. And now just about 5 hours after turning it on, it's down to 92% which is what I'd normally expect.
I'll try some of your suggestions if the problem re-occurs.
I noticed that my N7 (2012) has been draining quite a bit lately. Watching the battery stats, it seems Google Wallet was eating up some major battery. It was 2nd at 29% with the screen number 1 at 38%.
Not sure what the heck Google Wallet was doing, but I killed it and things seem to have stabilized.
battery drain after update?
For years I've had the same routine. I use my Nexus 7 all day for work, mostly notes. In between I play, (youtube, E-reader, etc). Every night I plug it in to charge and in the morning it's fully charged and ready to go. On Tues, I received the OTA update for 4.4.4 I noticed this morning that after a full night's charge, the battery only reports 50% charge. Is this the beginning of the end? What steps should I take from here? I recently bricked by GS3 so I depend on this thing now more then ever, any help would be sooooo appreciated.

I'd just restart it and let it charge again. I've updated mine a while ago and haven't had any issues.

I'm on a custom 4.4.2 ROM and I have had intermittent draining behavior as well.
Sync is off, location services off, I turn off wifi manually, and I always clear recents before I have my tablet sleep. I have greenify installed. I'm using better battery stats.
My issue seems to be similar, but I am also having battery percentages jump around.
Earlier today it went from 26% to 43% in the middle of me using it. Without charging. It frequently does this, both lesser and greater values reported. I've had my tablet shut down in the 30% range. I've had it shut itself off on 4%. I've had it drain all the way to 0% and then some before shutting down. I've had it turn itself off and when I power it back on the tablet is thinking it is at 25% or more.
I haven't been getting much more than an hour of screen time with my tablet lately. Clean fresh install of my ROM.
But I've never, until the last couple of days, had it go from a small percent to a large percent active during use. I took screenshots. I even started a thread to talk about it but nobody has responded yet.
Has anyone else ran into this behavior? Is it a sign of a soon to be dead battery?
mine got almost 30% drained on idle, airplane mode, screen off for 3 hours (tested on stock rom 4.4.3. GApps + Swiftkey + BBM + Facebook only)
my nexus 7 never lasted a day, only half a day max.
trying GSam app, hope it helps in knowing what's eating up batteries.

Standby drain 8.1 OPM1

I seem to be losing between 8-10% overnight since clean flashing OPM1. Anyone else seeing this? I can't peg it on a particular app and accubattery reports anywhere from 0.8-1.2% loss with screen off. If I just tap the power button to see accubattery stats, the current drain without going into anything ranges from 54mah to sometimes as high as 150mah. I may try a factory reset to resolve but curious to what others numbers are.
I'm using latest stock 8.1 and find it has the best standby I've ever seen. Either your battery is over year or two and starting to degrade. Or you need to do some spring cleaning when was the last time you backed everything up and wiped internal. You'd be amazed the wonders that does with rogue apps and missfunctioning features after completing wiping and installing fresh copy of stock.

Just bought a new OEM battery that is reporting 101% capacity so that's not it. Also, clean flashed 8.1 when I loaded it although I restored from my cloud backup. I just factory reset today but honestly, I felt it was worse so I completely blew everything out again, redownloaded 8.1 and flashed again. This time I chose to set up as a new device without using the cloud backup. The only thing I manually backed up and restored was text using a 3rd party app. I am adding my apps back a few at a time but it seems to be a little better as of now but will have to give it a couple days to settle down. Not rooted yet either.
Some are reporting that "mobile data always active" is enabled by default in developer options on 8.1. Have you tried disabling this?
To compare this with op, I got 84% battery health and a drain over night of 4%. Stock 8.1, Nova launcher beta, SuperSU beta, mobile data always active is off. May an app is responsible for your 10% draining ? Any social stuff like fb ???
I turned off mobile data always active and when I clean flashed the second time, I did not put any social media apps on the phone but saw no difference. I ended up putting fb, messenger lite and Instagram back on and they aren't impacting negatively. It's only been 2 days and have only rebooted a couple times.. battery is still reporting 101% capacity. I'll give it a another day or 2 to settle down bc at some points it seems to be very efficient while others it doesn't but that's better than before the 2nd clean flash.
Looking at my accubattery stats, I'm still losing about 1.1% battery per hour with the screen off. I also noticed that so far in the ~7 hours my phone has been off the charger today, it's only been in deep sleep about 51% of the time that the screen has been off. What happened to the built in wakelock detector that was highlighted in https://www.phonearena.com/news/Android-8.1-Oreo-wakelocks-battery-draining-apps_id99715? Does anyone see this actually working or is this yet another "Pixel exclusive". I cannot figure this out so I guess I'll have to download a 3rd party wakelock detector but the reality is, even if I do find the culprit, it's usually not anything that is easily identifiable or fixable. Am I really the only one having this issue??
