Ok. So obviously anyone who has installed the google goggles remover app from the market from paul will have issues to install the ota download via bootloader. I've tried pauls method to fix this and flash back to stock rom via fastboot which could be found here - http://android.modaco.com/content/t...ng-to-stock-1-19-before-applying-the-new-ota/
My issue is it doesn't work for me. Downloaded the pc10img rom, downloaded the fastboot zip. Created a folder on my desktop named android and I put both files in there. I then extracted the fastboot zip and tried to open windows-fastboot exe which was in the zip but all I get is a black screen that opens and closes within 2 seconds. I also tried going to start->run->cmd and trying the last 3 points from pauls site and I get a unsupported command error in cmd terminal in windows. I'm using windows wista 32 bit ( if that matters ). Any ideas fellas? Your help is much appreciated.

Install update without wiping anything
Download zip file then rename it to update.zip and place in root of sdcard
Hold volume down and power then select recovery
Select install update.zip
Once completed your phone will reboot and after it turns on you will get notification saying congratulations you updated phone.
Notice that all your apps and settings remained in tact.
Worked for me.

I can't just install the update it errors out because of google goggles. I used pauls app to remove it from the system. Now I need to restore the ORIGINAL google goggles that came with the phone via flashing back to stock. My issue is pauls fastboot method isn't working out for me.

You have to change directory to the folder you created on the desktop. Then it will work.

how I did it
I had the goggles removed....
I forgot my sync cable at work.... so I renamed the .zip file to pc10img.zip
put it on the root level of my sdcard (i.e. not in any folders). I used a MicroSD adapter.
Then powered up my G2/vision while holding the touch button.
Went to the bootloader and it did a file check and found the zip file and began reflashing then reset and finished.
I also had the update.zip in the same place and it went hands free. No problems.
I used appbrain to back up my apps. but thats me.
Cheers
Just tried this method. Now my g2 is stuck at a black screen with a phone and a green arrow after the OTA update was installed via bootloader..
I cant even boot back into recovery or anything from here....
i had the same problem with the black screen and the green indicator. run fastboot reboot when it completes the update. i removed goggles and used pauls method and everything works great. if its not working youre doing it wrong

No need to make a thread for the question you asked in Paul's; I haven't had a chance to check the forums. I updated my instructions to reflect your issue, and made a response post to yours in that thread.

Mine stayed at that screen for a while. Not sure if I caused it to finally go through, but a pressed a few random buttons on the outside after a while and it continued with the install.
Updated. THX for the info.
My phone stayed at that screen for about three minutes, rebooted itself, then finished the update. Just let is sit for a minute

Anybody have any ideas?
(Don't mind the signature...this was done on my T-Mobile G2 lol)
Thanks!
Make sure you have it named update noticed you had udate as the spelling. And if you did pauls way and reverted back to stock / wiped then you shouldn't have problems loading the update . Make sure its on the root of your sd card. Then update via bootloader.

Its not that hard, all you do is place the latest OTA update on your sd card, and rename it to update.zip. . .Its easier than it looks. Then you just boot into recovery, and flash it.
But we want to know what we do when we used the google goggles remover app

You have to reflash the stock ROM, meaning it erases everything, then you flash the ota on top. Paul has more infoat his site.

You do realize you have to run the fastboot commands through adb. And that file has to be located where you have fastboot, or the sdk tools folder is.
Code:
fastboot flash zip PC10IMG.zip
I got prompted for the 2.2 update about an hour ago and I hit cancel. How do I get the URLs for the update? How long will it take to prompt me for it again?
Getting some kind of error installing the update. I'm on stock 1.6 but I was rooted with universal androot and originally uninstalled amazon mp3 so that's probably the issue. I unrooted using universal androot also and reinstalled amazon mp3 but I still get the same error. I have to reinstall the stock SAPPIMG.zip when I get home and wait for the update to prompt me again. This is what happens after I try to install from the prompt. It restarts, unpacks something, then goes to recovery. After pressing home + power this it what it says.

The update was looking for Amazon MP3 apk to be installed on your phone. It did not find it so it dumped out.

Not good - the update looks for everything even apps?
Dude after going back to stock, download aLogcat from the market. When you get the prompt again, open aLogcat, click menu, hit save to SD card and copy it to here. Should be a txt file.

you know you should pull /cache with adb just to see if it's there.

Not sure if you noticed or not but I removed the link and added it as an attachment to make it easier.
You had it
You know you had it. Right there in cache. Why did I not think to tell you to pull cache? Why?
I have done the one step root and it doesnt seem to work. I go to superuser permissions and it just force closes. This phone was rooted before perfectly fine with the same method. Even SetCPU doesnt open. Its always that dumb superuser force close.
EDIT: I dont have any one click root errors or any other errors while in samsung recovery. It said it applied the update when I go to reinstall packages. No errors whatesoever.
EDIT: I tried the 1.5.5 and it just gets stuck in the loop and says to disable usb debugged. I unplugged phone and disabled usb debugging but when I do that it gets stuck on waiting for device.

You have to install clockworkmod, then click reboot to recovery, click install from packages, then should be good (if it doesn't go to clockworkmod after that, reboot, and repeat). I have rooted several of these bad boys for co-workers the last couple weeks, and found clockworkmod didn't always take first time through as it does on other devices I have modded.
I flashed the galaxy s cm6.1.2 beta 1 and it gets stuck on boot screen and says Galaxy S GTI9000. I cant get to recovery by holding the volume key up. I dont know what to do now.
I have a DX with Version.2.3.151.MB810.Verizon.en.US, rooted.
1) My phone keeps trying to force me to update, and it then fails the update. I rooted my phone and deleted (no backup) several pieces of bloatware. I put blockbuster and amazon mp3 back on from the marketplace, but I can't find CityID or DLNA there. Can I update to 2.3.340?
2) I do not know how to make a failsafe backup of everything in the event that I totally screw stuff up. I've been looking through posts for hours, and have seen people suggest backing up a million times, but I cannot find out how to do that. Can anyone link me to something showing me how to back up my phone, and how to flash that backup back on?

I just downloaded the programs I am missing, and I cannot instal the DLNA stuff. I am assume it is because the odex stuff isn't there, and I can't put the odex stuff in the app folder because it is write protected. How can I change the permissions on the app folder?

It says coming from a non blur rom will surely boot loop your phone. Is liberty non blur?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Okay, so I can download that file, flash it from recovery, and have an updated phone. It says to make a backup, how do I do that? Would that backup be another .zip file to flash? If I do back up my phone, update it with the maderstcok file, and if it screws up, I would be able to simply go into the recovery and use the backup zip to fix everything?
If you have DX Bootstrapper, open up that app, select bootstrap recovery, wait for the "Success" message, then select reboot recovery.
Your phone will reboot into the bootstrap menu... Use the volume keys to go down to backup/recovery and select that with the camera button. You will get another menu, and just select backup using the volume and camera keys....
The phone should now spend a few minutes backing up... when its done, use the power key to back out to the main menu, and then install the .zip.....
If the install screws up your phone, then boot into bootstrap recovery using any of the methods, go down to backup/recover, and select recover.. There should only be one file, and its the time-date that you did the backup.... Select that, then "yes" and let it do its thing.... Your phone will be back to the exaCT condition you backed it up in..... including any unread text messages.... enjoy
You all are amazing. Thanks a million times!
I updated my phone with maderstock, and it works.
The problem is that I now cannot root my phone again, and am stuck with all of the bloatware. Can anyone help with this? I cannot download z4root through the market (will not show up in Market), and when I download it through a browser, it won't work.
and the phone keeps trying to update, and telling me that the download failed.

Hello,
So, my vs98039a is having a pop up saying "Unfortunately, LG smartcover has stopped". When i close it, it automatically keeps popping up, over and over and over. I am rooted with stock rom. I have twrp recovery.
I tried to install xposed through twrp. That is when it started with the pop ups. I read that xposed is making the pop ups happen.
I tried to do a recovery, but the recovery wasnt found on memory stick via usb.
So, i was able to do a factory reset, but still have these stupif pop ups. The factory reset took it back to 5.0.2.
I really need some help bad. How do I get rid of these pop ups??? I am sick over this.
Thank you very much

Hopefully this will teach you to read before messing around. In the Q&A, there's a link how to get it working thru adb. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58829021
If you can't get it working that way then you'll need to return to stock. (post# 2) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51318377
It's been a known issue since Xposed in alpha (not for everyone) has been out.

Thanks for your help, nothing is working. I cant seem to get the sdk tools to work so that I can open adb cmd. I downloaded the sdk suite and manager. I'm afraid its a lost cause . I try to go back to stock, and the phone will not stay connected when flashing vs98039a firmware. I even went to Lg site and downloaded the newest driver. It works, phone tries to reboot and shuts off and flashtool says there was error when it tries to install firmware. I try to get phone in dowload mode, and it says download mode but there is an error message top left. Then it shut off completely.
How the heck can I get adb to open up so I can enter commands to stop smartcover, weather, and weather platform??? I have done all of this on my razr m without a hitch. Im not a noob. I do not understand this G2!!!

You need to remove these 3 apps for xposed to work:
LGCover, LGWeather, LGWeatherService
Just flash the attached file through recovery and xposed will work.
Sent from my XT907 using XDA Free mobile app
I was wondering how that is even possible since I did a factory reset, the popups will not let me past them, and I have no recovery as far as I know.? The usb debugging is on, and the phone shows it is connected, but pc does not see it. Unknown sources is enabled as well.
I can't flash anything from pc using the lg flash tool. It gets to 50 percent and says device isn't connected. Can't even try the freedom tool anymore if it went connect. I have the latest usb driver.
I don't evenknow if I have root anymore. Popups won't let me do anything.
So anyway, I ended up just wiping everything thru the twrp recovery and took the firmware zip I downloaded (vs98039a) and installed it. Everything is back to normal with fresh stock rom. I think I will just be happy with that, until xposed has a clean apk. Thank you for your help

Exactly, that´s the problem.
If you can´t solve it with that, flash new rom, and do that before install xposed again,
