How to config keyboard on TP2 to work with portuguese - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Hi,
I'd like to get my TP2 T-mobile to work with portuguese (ç, ´, `, etc).
Thanks for the help

Install these two registry keys and then you've got xt9 portuguese fully functioning.

I'd like to know how to install the .reg, because it says that it has no "application associated".
Thanks

You can import them using a registry explorer like SK Tools or Mem Maid or any other...

Thanks for the help.
I use Total Commander, but I haven't figured out to work.
I copyed to clipboard and past in the plugin/registry directory, but it didn't work

Total Commander doesn't support importing registry files.
You can use SK Tools here:
http://www.s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_downloads.html#tools
In the registry explorer select "Import" then select the files you want!

I did what you said but it didn't work.
How can I type ç, á, é, à, í, ó ?
I had a sony X1 and it was nice to type but the TP2 it's hard.
I was thinking, the TX9 is the digital keyboard? Because it already had those characters, I want the slide keaboard to work with those characters.
Thanks a lot for the patience.

Problem solved!
I didn't activate the XT9, now it's working beautifully
Thanks to HRQ.SLV !!

If you want to use accented characters with the "FN" key in the hardware keyboard, you'll need to copy the attached file (eT9.Rhodium.ptp.kmap.txt) to the windows folder and apply the attached reg key. If you want to create you own keyboard layout check here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Rhodium/ChangingKeyboardLayout).
If you cannot select the portuguese language in the XT9 (hidden in foreighn devices by default) you can use the cab file "input lang diamond2 kb.cab" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3456978)
If you want to assign the <TAB> character to an hardware key (I've assigned it to the "mail" key) you can use the Rhodium Keyboard Controller ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240). I use the <TAB> key when SSH to linux boxes to autocomplete in the command line.
I also use the Rhodium Keyboard Controller to toggle wifi on/off using a long press in the VolUp key.

Keyboard problem, Russian ROM

I have couple of troubles with my 9100.
1. Virtual keyboard has Cyrillic layout. To write in English I have to tap au virtual key for each letter. I didnt find how to switch to English layout. It's very hard to write this message using virtual keyboard, believe me.
2. I cannot use Terminal Services client because I cannot enter English letters to specify login name and password. I tried to switch layout on sliding keyboard by it enters always Cyrillic. I tried virtual keyboard too but the same result.
I supposed any third party keyboard layout utility will help but I didnt find anything that works fine on 9100. I tried qkeys and Resco keyboard.
Does anyone know something about?
Resco works fine on mine.

Which version?
Had the very same problem.
1. Tap au key twice (fast) and it would switch to english
2. Use any registry editor to change "Keyboard layout" string value in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\ from "00000419" to "00000409". Wait a couple of mins and soft-reset the device. After that ts client will be using english by default.

This is where Resco Keyboard would come in handy
Excuse me, I've found it. It appears near spacebar when shift is pressed.

change keys on keyboard?

Does anybody knows if it posible to change the assinment of the keys on the keyboard?
I would like to change the Windows Startbutton into CTRL, So i can easy use CTRL C and CTRL V.
Do i have to change the keybddr.dll for it?
Not to be a "me 2"er, but I am looking to swap the comma and period. They're on the same key, but I have to use the "Option" button (round dot) to get a comma. Well, when I'm option-locked and typing numbers, I use the period a lot more than when I'm typing letters. I'd like to see a way to simply swap those two functions on that key.
Changing Map
Guys,
I´m from Brazil and in my portuguese keyboard I had an issue with comma an period keys.
I´ve used the AEKMap program to remap my keyboard. On google, type aekmap an the link will come.
Here are the settins i used.

Copy/Paste shorcut from external keyboard ?

How do you do copy/paste while typing on the external Keyboard of the HTC Tytn ?
On the Softward keyboard included in WM5, you have 'Ctrl' so you can simply do a copy/paste by typing Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V. But from the external keyboard, how do you do a copy/paste ?
Use PQz
V
I tried PQzII, but it seems to be very buggy: because of it the capital shift does not work properly anymore and sometimes when I press on the space bar to change a 'e' to a 'é' I just can't. An other thing is that I can not, use the button of Pocket Music when PQzII is used (when I quit PQzII I can use the hardware button again).
Are there any other way to have a copy/paste from the external keyboard?
Can some1 confirm PQzII can do copy paste? I tried but did not work, I set WIN as ctrl, then try in notepad with WIN+C then WIN+V but nothing happend.

scandinavian letters (ä,ö) with MDA Vario?

I just bought a MDA Vario from the UK so I'm having a hard time typing scandinavian letters with the keyboard, could someone please tell me how I could remap the keys to get letters ä and ö or is there already a program that can give me these letters? To clarify, I can type them using the Sym key but I have to press the Sym so many times it slows my typing too much. Thanks!
-John
Help? How can I remap the ä and ö keys?
Moi,
there's file sym.txt that you can edit to get öä's faster, transfer it to your pc with ActiveSync, edit with notepad or similar and transfer back to your phone. That's it. My 1st line of that file for example looks like this:
aäàáâåąãăæ
I think you'll find the sym.txt from "Windows"-folder of your phone.
There's also Scandinavian softkeyboard CAB available but I don't know what that really does, you can find it from this forum.
What to edit?
What is it i shal edit to get this to work?
i want my danish keyboard to work as well.

using other languages..

how can i use another language with the hard keyboard on 7501? i have installed a second language on the device and i am using the on-screen keyboard with it but how can i use the hard keyboard?
c'mon ppl! who is in charge with the keyboard layout? it has to be a piece of software, somewhere. where?
The below registry changes will not help you with the Hebrew support, but if your second language is Russian, then your hard keyboard will start support it.
Add the following to your registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd]
"InitialDelay"=dword:222
"RepeatRate"=dword:A
"Locale"="0419"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Qwerty]
"Layout"=dword:00020419
Switching in between languages is possible by holding the left-bottom key (with the big blue dot on it) and pressing the Ctrl key in the same time.
For the Hebrew support try to change values of "Locale" and "Layout" keys to appropriates ones.

thanks, finally some hope! how/where from do i get the locale and layout info?
found locale: 1037 (i hope). anyway i did a backup registry and keep looking for the "layout"...
found everything at: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/winxp/xp-lcid.mspx
what i found in my unaltered registry:
I need the settings for english and greek in my keyboard... Please
Thanks a lot! I have little experience working with registry. After trying for couple of hours with no success I figured out that "Locale"="0419" should be a string value (not a DWORD Value). Now my keyboard works fine)
