I am considering buying the HTC Aria (I can get it for free) but have read on several Android forums about the problems with the Aria's lack of ringtone volume. Has anyone here suffered from this or is this just a few upset customers. Also if you've had this problem were you able to fix it if so how? Did rooting the phone help at all? Thanks for the help.

Um...depends on what you mean by ringtone volume. Everytime I have my volume all the way up it rings and I can hear it. I've never had an issue where I had my volume up and it sounded like it was at anything less than full...hope that answers your question

I've had low volume problems when using songs for Ringtones. Used MP3 Gain pc software to increase the volume of the file. Search for "MP3 Gain" on the internet

MY ringtone is way way too loud. thats not an issue for me.
There are however volume problems with speaker phone or even the regular phone depending on your locations noise level.
Same here,I usually turn on the speaker and. Hold the phone close to my ear so I can hear people.there is a louder volume hack,I just haven't been able to test it.

is there any way to make the speaker and ringer volume louder than stock max setting i work in a real noisy area and a lot of the time its very hard to hear
thanks in advance
jack
Instead of making it louder, why not just try putting it on vibrate...? Just sayin.

i have it on ringer and vibrate and the vibrate is not the best that i have seen either. this is the only problem with this phone that i have other wise i lone it
has anyone found a way yet to mke the rear speaker louder when on speaker phone?
ring + vibrate + high pitch tone
thatll help you out the best. I got that power rangers Beep communicator thing because that worked the best even when I was driving the forklift I could hear it.
Honestly you dont wanna go to loud, you may blow your speaker >< then that would really suck
Use the 'Noisy One' ringer to make sure you always hear it - that's the only ringer I can hear every time.
As for speakerphone, you've touched on my only complaint with the G2 - the speakerphone isn't very good and requires holding it to your ear (which defeats the point, eh?)
You can try Old Phone Ringtones (from the Market). Some of those ringtones are really loud.
Hey guys I realize you are trying to be helpful but telling someone to "put it on vibrate" and "download louder ringtones" is not very helpful (The Vibrate sux on the G2 I usually hear it vibrating instead of feeling it ). I too am looking for a way to boost the speaker sound like I did with my G1 using "Louder Volume Hack". I have Loud ringers but that does not help with custom ringtones or with the reason I went with Android, To make it function the way I want it to, I am sure most of you also feel this way.
Also of Note: I can get the Speaker to the desired Volume using an Poweramp equalizer to boost the volume of music, considering all the apps out there I am surprised that no-one has created a hack to do this on the newer phones.

that is what i ma looking for the" louder volume hack" and im on a stock g2 not that good with comp stuff so im not rooted
The shift is my first android phone, so i'm still not used to finding where to enable things stuff.
i've been using the google nav on this phone, and i've noticed that the TTS only uses the phone's regular hold-up-against-your-ear speakers. is it possible to switch it to use the speakphone speakers?
Weird. Both telenav and google maps use the speakerphone on mine.

I tried to find a setting, but I could not.
Mine also uses the loudspeaker by default.
Shifted from my PG06100 using XDA App
Mine uses loudspeaker by default too. I don't think there is a setting to not have it as speakerphone because that's not very intuitive.
I know this is a stupid thing to ask but I have to ask it anyways, did you check to see if you turned up navigation volume all the way?
it turns out, it does use the loud-speaker. it's just not very loud. i'm coming from a t-mobile shadow. there aren't a lot of good things i can say about that phone, but it has some really loud loudspeakers.
when i play mp3s on this thing though, it's quite loud.
wonder what's up.
There is a separate navigation volume... Make sure it is all the way up
I also notice the speaker phone isn't loud at all. Are there any other that feel the same way?
I had a windows phone a couple of years back that someone made a hack to make the speaker phone louder. I wonder if someone could do something similar for this phone.

I did at first, but after some tweaking it works great.
Search for DSPManager.

Hi, I tried to search for it, but found nothing.
My Fathers DHD has an in-call volume that is so low that you just can't hear anything if you are in an environment which is even a little noisy...
I don't have the same problem on my own Desire Z..
I'm wondering if it's a DHD problem, or just a faulty front speaker in my fathers device?
thanks
Mine in-call volume is pretty low too, especially low if you compare it to my old Nokia N95.
so.... anyway to fix it? apps?
You must try X10

Good one !!! X10 is really the worst out there , had it for about two weeks. Desire HD is ok on volume, i use about 60 % of volume power and the sound is loud and clear enough.
Low in call volume
I have agree the in call volume is pretty bad for a phone of this specification. I've tried different ROMs and Radio but its just plain bad.
Really need a DSP manager style hack to make this better.
For now try repositioning the phone on your ear. I hold it so the mic is a few inches away from my mouth and that angle helps with the in call volume. Not a natural position though!
There is a very crude fix for the low volume problem (ignore the "volume is fine" bull****, the volume is crap). Use speakerphone. Seriously. But use speakerphone like an ordinary phone. Turn it on and hold the phone in the normal way for a voice call. It really is much louder. Of course others will hear the conversation - but at least you will hear it pretty clearly. Ridiculous solution, I know, but it's a ridiculous problem.

I've been doing just that along with the DSP manager fix so thanks for not making me look mad
My colleage has the same phone and says in call volume is ok - duh hello!

for starters no1's input on here is "bull****" just because you dont like the call volume dosent mean others find it as problematic as you..... no need to call other peoples views bull****, just because they dont agree with you.
try this. IT HELPS!!, all volume to the MAX. inclusif incoming calls..
software name is ERAY. search in the MARKET..

Just tried this as a fix for my very low in call volume, it worked, but a bit crackly, I will try for a few hours and update.
Running for about 2 hours now, no probs, crackly line is bearable, at least i can hear people now.
have you tried Volume+?
So does anyone else notice their max volume in general is very weak? If I'm in a call and have the speaker on, it's just subpar. No where near what my Hero was capable of. Specially with my Hero, I paid for an app called "Loud Volume Hack" and it made my phone twice as loud and capable.
Of course that app doesn't work on the shift, so we're stuck with low volume.
Anyone know of or hear of some workarounds?

a program called volume ace is your friend
That app doesnt do anything after I installed it. All it is, is another way to adjust your volume controls through a different interface. IT doesn't maximize your volumes beyond what the OS allows you too like "Loud Volume Hack"
Check apps & themes section

Hi, i am using wildfire with cm7 installed on it. I have a little problem- headset volume is really low. Yes, i have tried to push volume up, and it is on maximum. Tried different headset- same. Phone speaker is really loud. I can`t say when this happened because i got my headset only on this week(borrowed to sister).
I am looking for solution, can anyone help?
check the media volume in settings. else buy a good in ear like sony mdr ex85. or try equalizer app, volume+ app etc. mine is so loud. i use sonys in ear.

Checked every volume levels which i can found. If it helps to now how quiet it is, if i level volume down to about level 5, it is almost unhearable.
One more question. Coud it be hardware problem? I don`t know, if phone is using the same amplifier circuit to headphones and phone speaker.
Thanks.
I had the same problem a couple of months ago, so I bought Volume Boost. You can try it for free first, and there are a few other software options I haven't tried. Volume Boost works OK for me.
Go to Android Market (sorry, I can't give you the direct link here, since it's not allowed).
Göran, Stockholm
Thanks, it makes it a bit louder(i can listen to it now) but still silent.
dude you have done something wrong. also i think that earphone and speakers do not share same hardware.

So thats hardware problem? If so, probably new phone will be cheaper.
