Well no, other site`s etc are just bundling a phone and a contract together and are sim free.

Expansys can be so overpriced. It's a very offputting website.

It's in-stock on the UK website, but the USA website is awaiting shipment next week around the 12th or 13th from the UK wharehouse.

Phoned CPW today whilst at work. They said it's not even loaded on their system.
Although it was obvious, when I raised the prospect of upgrading through them but them getting the Touch HD from their mobiles.co.uk partner, they said no.

It's in their new catalogue for November, so hopefully soon.

I ordered mine from Clove, UK. I live in the US. They shipped mine yesterday and It already came to the US and got stuck in the Customs for clearance. I was hoping to get it today... But I guess I will not get it until Monday or Tuesday now....

I received a email comfirming from expansys that they have shipped my Touch HD, looking at the tracking status I will be receving this early morning tomorrow...... Man can't wait any longer it been month since I pre-order my touch HD

Okay yesterday I attempted an order from Expansys. Now on the website it looked as if they had more then enough in stock. After placing my order and validating credit card shipping stuff, I found out from their customer service that most of the first shipment went to back orders. So now I'm stuck waiting for the next shipment which can be from Friday til another week or two.
So I ask....Where can I order this device from and plan to get it by this Saturday ... MN USA? Again, If I was to order it right now somewhere ... where would it be that will gurantee arrival before this weekend?

Disappointing service from MobilePhonesDirect

This is just a warning to others thinking about using MobilePhonesDirect, They may seem cheap but they are pretty useless.
I pre-ordered my new HD2 from MobilePhonesDriect last over a week ago. They promised that they would have stock ready for dispatch on 12th Nov for delivery via Royal Mail special delivery before 1pm on 13th.
I ordered:
HTC HD2
18 Month @ £25pm
200mins, 200txt, unlim data.
Handset = £132
So I took the day off work today to wait around for it. Did it show? No of course it didn't
Now I look at their website and it says they have the HD2 in stock and if you order before 3pm you can get next day delivery. Also the handset price has gone down from £132 to £107 and they are throwing in a free 2GB micro SD card.
Hopefully I'll be able to cancel my pre-order and just reorder at the cheaper price. What is the point of taking pre-orders if you can't supply the customers. They'd even sent me a mail earlier in the week saying they had easily enough stock to supply all pre-orders.
Of course their customer service team isn't answering the phone and also not responding to emails. I feel very let down by this bunch of clowns. I was hoping to be playing with my new phone all weekend. Now I just have to be content with watching all the other people's videos on YouTube who did get theirs on time.

I actually recieved my hd2 from them today, but have to agree, their customer service is appalling.

You're one of the lucky ones.
I wouldn't particularly mind but they basically lied to me. I figured it would be just my luck not to catch the post today and maybe have to wait til monday. But they specifically said they had enough stock to fill all their pre-orders but after that other would probably have to wait til mid Dec for their phones.
That's why I pre-ordered.
Now they're saying they've got loads in stock and put the price down

I just got an email at 7pm on a Friday night saying that my phone has been dispatched. Fat lot of good that'll do me as they won't deliver on a Saturday so it'll be Monday when I get it but Tuesday before I can pick it up from the depot. I should have just held on and bought it today for the cheaper price. Grrrrr
Right, rant over, sorry folks.
Moral of the story. Be wary of promises that sound too good to be true.

Chimp - i'm in the same boat as you, I was also looking forward to playing with the phone but now will be watching others play with theirs...sad LOL.
I'm sure their is more to life then this.

Well, at least you have got your email. I got all excited when I had the in stock, deliver Friday or monday message. Couldn't get reponse by email or phone, shame I have people with me Sunday for the day and if they saw and tried it i reckon MFD would have seen a couple of orders.
No email saying despatched for me so I can only hope they will still be packing/posting tomorrow and there's still a chance for Monday.

As a matter of interest what's happened to your status on the site now you have had your despatched email?

It just says 'Status - Complete'.

Royal Mail do Special Delivery on Saturdays, don't they?

I think in this thread or a MPD one in the Leo forum it was said that in some areas the Post Office delivers on a Saturday but it's a bit hit and miss as to where - technically it's next "working day" and that normally means Monday to Friday.

They do but for a £2.50 additional charge. I doubt that MFD are going to shell out for that considering they only charged £3 P+P and the cheapest Special delivery charge is £4.95

My understanding is that they deliver Special Delivery on Saturday, its just not guaranteed unless you pay the extra, so more often than not a package will arrive on Saturday. But I'm probably wrong!

Well I won't hold my breath (but I will be crossing my fingers in hope)

10.04pm I received the "Your order has been dispatched message".
Peace now reigns.
Worde case is that it goes into the post tomorrow for monday delivery but I am holding out for their having got it in the post earlier but only updated the computer system late and there might be a slim chance for tomorrow. (The odds are better for that than they are for me to win the lottery).
At least they had their stock on the 12th - I have read some suppliers missed out and it's no chance for a phone before Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

That's another way to see what a mess of a company MPD is, you pre ordered a week ago and got despatched today but what me that ordered 16 of Oct so as every body can see they have a big mess

I can confirm 100%.
Hopefully it will (eventally) arrive ok and I'll never have to deal with them again. I go out of my way to avoid companies that provide such a pathetic level of "service". Had I known what an utter failure their part in this would have been, I would have waitied for someone else to have a T-Mo contract available for it.
Can't wait to see the last of these jokers.

Sometimes.. you will end up with a few delays but patience is the key here - and if it doesnt arrive on Monday then I would complain.. But in the meantime I wouldnt slag them off too harshly - its a pretty awesome phone so they will have had a busy few days.
Although you do have a point about the price dropping within the space of a week that certainly would get my goat.

Whether you believe this or not is up to you!
Where I live most parcels sent via special delivery on a Friday WILL arrive the next day, they just cannot guarantee it....and the assistant said it could well come tomorrow.
I ordered mine on Tuesday on the T-Mobile Combi 30 plan, 18 month.
As it happens I already have an HD2 anyway: It's a beautiful device, but to be honest I'm terribly disappointed with the keyboard, and being as typing is crucial to me as a textaholic I'm hoping that HTC will release an updated keyboard that behaves as well as that on the Hero.....for me this one just won't do, and i've been testing out some alternatives......but that's another story!

ellloooo has any one got one from dell yet i ordered mine last Thursday and they estimate delivery around the 21st why so long i don't know,just wondering if anyone has one from there because i hope its unlocked Sim free like they state on there website

I got one from car phone wharehouse first but sent it back because they said it was unlocked but it was not.
I feel sick now you have just told me that,i have just gone to their website and went through the order as if i was buying one and it says nothing about them being out of stock .

I tried one at my friendly local CPW and it was locked to O2 - bit of a cheek for a device that's listed as SIM-free...
I've found Dell's delivery dates to be pretty good, so here's hoping for the 19th...

You need a discount code from your Dell Account manager then you can ring the EPP hotline and order at the discounted price... normally its a 3% discount but the Streak is an extra 7% off until July 31st... As far as I'm aware the discount is available to employees of any company with a corporate account at Dell, including NHS, Local Govt., etc.
EPP phone number is 0870 907 5683 (although I was re-directed to a different number today)

Looks like they pluck the delivery date out of the air i hate waiting

I ordered 29th of June and my EDD was 19th July but yesterday they called me to tell that they are out of stock. After that phone call I noticed that my order was cancelled. Of course I contacted their live chat to ask what is going on and they apologised and asked if I remember who called me but I did not remember the name. After that they called me back to confirm new order so my new order is 5th July and delivery date is still 19th July but when I asked when it will be delivered I was told that 2-3 working days so I asked again if it will be this week and it was confirmed that Yes it will be this week as my order already finished production period.
So probably the container from china is already somewhere in the docks.

I think i will give them a phone watch this space

going to call the HM forces discount number in a bit. gona try and get full 10% discount and get the ridiculous postage of £20 taken off. will report back.

Just phoned up Dell then had a live chat with one of them and they both tell me its a new product and there is still an interim period of 10 days after your order before it can be shipped so basically BULL SH-T EXPECT IT WHEN IT ARRIVES why am i so impatient lol

Yes I did pre-order. Quite normal in the Netherlands, was suprised I could only pre-order since this week though since the release date here is supposed to be march 28.

im still thinking about it because Verizon has it

i did preorder on contract which i never do, im in the UK so hopefully i only need to wait 1 more week

i ordered mine from box.co.uk £465. they still have 6 in stock. guaranteed latest april 1st delivery, i called them, they said they will get the shipment in today (30th) but depending on what time they get it in, they might be able to send it out today! i might have it by tomorrow but they stressed most likely it'll be friday.

funny enough, i checked buymobilephones.net today and now the site says they have both the arc and play in stock, perhaps the customer service rep i spoke to was an idiot and they will actually ship them this week
im going to contact sales tomorrow and see what response i get

i had a look but both appear to still be on pre-order although they have confirmed on twitter the arc is in stock and has a 48 hour turn around time to dispatch i have asked about the play stock they said they are expecting stock soon

was it just updated recently? (0.o)

I spoke to the guys at 3 today via their sales team and they stated that they have the Silver in stock and would be delivered tomorrow should I order today the black one however isn't expected until 03/04/2013

I ordered mine through Very with the same date of the 25th. Seeing as it was cheaper to pay for over couple of months. However after calling them 4 times to find out when I was going to receive the device I was given the suppliers number to call which turned out to be Nokia Support. I have since cancelled the order with Very and taken out a contract with 3 instead. Device should be with me by the 28th. Hopefully.

Hahaha! This made my day! lol I wonder what could have happened if some less knowledgeable people got that response They could have called nokia and inquired about HTC Epic fail!

Popped into P4U in Northampton yesterday for a look, they had it advertised as sim free for £459, asked if they had any in stock and he told me yes but not for sim only and that would be a few weeks, which is a lie as other people on here said they went to same store and bough one. Plus I want to be able to return it if build quality is pants and can't if bought in store.

Interesting and annoying that different stores have different prices for sim free.
I will be in that area next Friday but by that time Asda may have shipped mine so would need to go through hassle of returning it and refund for £40 saving.

On that basis, I will be taking the day off work on Monday and if it does not arrive I will be certainly giving them a piece of my mind. I have no confidence that it will be here/there on the 25th or 27th for that matter.

People buying from Very Handtec and Asda are all in the same boat. We have no actual ides when we will get our phones.
Only places that seem to give a realistic date is Three as they delivered phones this week as advertised.
