X10 Memory/RAM/Storage Hardware Layout - XPERIA X10 General

So, im trying to find out how the X10 has its ram etc set out.
Is it a 256mb chip for ram, a 128mb chip for graphics and then a 1gb chip for the OS and user data?
Or is it just 1 1.5/2GB chip that is partitioned into sections for ram, os, userdata etc.
Dose anyone know an answer to this?
Cheers

Soo, its all one chip then...
Hmmmm.... If that is the case would it not be posssible to change things a little and lose some space for user data and use it to give the X10 512mb of ram?

Ok but you still not said.. yes its one chip or no its more than 1 chip.
But i find it ard to belive that SE would put in a 128mb chip, a 256mb and a tiny 128k chip lol

Could someone who knows pleas just post straight up the RAM e.g. 512mb with 128mb for graphics and 384mb for user??? or is it 256mb plus 128mb for graphics equaling 384mb RAM???

Hmm, I'm wondering what the problem is - remember that the X10 has 384MB of RAM. Just checking on my VMware host that runs Ubuntu and the 64bit version of Firefox (the app with the largest resident memory usage - apart from VMware VM's of course) only uses 31MB - so that's not even 10% of the available. Okay, I realise that firefox also uses a shedload of virtual too - but the question remains - what exactly is it in Gingerbread that suddenly needs the same minimum RAM as Windows XP does/did?
If it's not a single system image that's causing the problem, then what's wrong with paging to SD (yes, I know "it's slow stupid!" is high up the reasons)? Surely if paging to SD is permitted then it'd be relatively straightforward to provide a system setting that allowed a portion of the SD card to be reserved. These days you can get a relatively speedy (10MB/s min) Class 10 uSD card for about £27 (US$40) from Amazon, (8GB Kingmax if anyone's interesteD), and I'm guessing that there's probably not 100's of MB to be paged. In which case surely this is doable - especially if you're using a relatively modern, clever paging algorithm.
Just strikes me as a little strange that Google - with all the high-powered talent that they've got - couldn't figure a way to get their "latest and greatest" working on more of the current devices out there in Android land. Don't forget that there's other phones out there with the same or less internal memory than the X10 - e.g. Samsung Galaxy Portal, HTC Hero; Wildfire; and Legend, Motorola Milestone/Droid, and I'm sure a more detailed search could show others.

RAM: 384MB
ROM+Storage: 1GB (SLC)
Video: ?MB is a AMD Z430, like google nexus one, htc desire and htc hd2
Ram and Rom are not the same chip

The X10 has 256 MB RAM and 128 MB for graphics.

I thought that the Virtual Memory of the Xperia x10 is shared for both RAM and VRAM?!? Now I am confused a little bit more...

Yes, SonyEricsson Answered to me. The Xperia has 384 MB of RAM.

No, the memory and the fb memory are separated. If you see /proc/iomem we have
(256 MB)
0x20000000-0x2dffffff 224 MB RAM
0x2e000000-0x2fffffff 32 MB ?????? NOT MAPPED, WHY?
(128 MB)
0x30000000-0x37efffff 127 MB
0x37f00000-0x37ffffff 128 KB
while with dmesg you can read that fb memory is
<6>[ 2.152940] msm_fb_probe: phy_Addr = 0x2b00000 virt = 0x98800000
<6>[ 2.154160] MDP HW Base phy_Address = 0xaa200000 virt = 0x98200000
<6>[ 2.155446] primary mddi base phy_addr = 0xaa600000 virt = 0x98014000

wm5 vs wm6 speed

Just like the title means... i have a killer question
My little brother has a Cingular 8125, here are the aspects:
(WM5)
cpu : OMAP8590
speed : 195 mghz
ram: 64 MB
flash size: 128 MB
flash chip type: m-systems
bus: 16 bits
Storage size: 42 MB
mine are on a O2 xda iis (blue angel)
(WM6)
cpu: intel (r) PXA263
speed: 400 mghz
ram size 128 MB
flash size 32 MB
flash chip type: 28F128K3
bus: 32 bits
Storage size: 60 MB
ratio 1.02.10
both with 230 x 320 lcd screens with 65536 colors.
I just have moved (after reading A LOT!) to windows mobile 6.... i grab his pda just to compare, and he has A LOT of speed than mine
It's because of the rom that i had installed? (it's the one with the sticky on the threads on WM6 around the corner in here)
or because the WM edition itself
In advanced, thanxs, its a big big thing because if i am right, i had at least the double that he has, so, all of this is not right... right????
please, anything will be welcome!

X1 Low Storage Memory

My Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 i s low on memory.if i look at the device information unser settings, what i see is:
CPU:QUALCOMM(R) 7200A
Speed:528Mhz
RAM size:128 MB
Flash size:256 MB
Data bus:32 bits
Storage size:45.18MB
Display resolution:480 x 800
Colors:65536
Bluetooth version:2.0/2.0+EDR
please how do i make it have normal memory because i read that the X1 has an internal memory of 400MB.please help !!!!!
I think that the 256 MB is the normal amount of storage for the X1..
But what I dont understand is your amount of RAM - only 128 MB..?
The normal amount is about 256, or actually 200 in real life.. But 128..??
Are you sure that this info is from an X1..?
My X1 have:
RAM: 256 MB
Flash: 512 MB
i think your unit is faulty
take it back to se .
It could be a prototype or something, i could be wrong though. Don't worry about onboard memory too much, as its going to be next to nothing either way, the RAM is something to worry about however . . .
where did you get it from?
it does sound like a protoype..
You can look behind the battery, think Ive seen that SE has writte "Prototype" on the sticker.
I think it's a prototype too beause the first Xperia Prototypes got 128 MB RAM.
that's weird???
Xperia goes:
QUALCOMM(R) 7200A
Speed: 528 MHx
RAM size : 256 MB
Flash size: 512 MB
Data Bus: 32 bits

HTC Ozone: 128 or 192 MB of Ram?

hello to all,
I had an ozone a month ago that had 192 mb of ram.
I had it bricked, and got a new one - but this one only reports 128 mb of ram.
What's the deal with this? Is my new ozone deffective?
They both report 111 mb of software ram - one said "os program memory: 68 mb" and the other one reports 16.4 mb. But both phones have 111.53 mb of usable ram.
Why is this?
Thanks-
Tomi
HTC still sites it as having 192mb of ram so I'd go back to whoever you got the phone from an explain the situation.
Source: http://www.htc.com/us/product/HTCOzone/specification.html
that is odd... But this would be my third phone replacement from Verizon. It's really not a "big" deal - but I find it weird that with the 192 mb ram phone the OS program memory was 68 mb and with the 128 mb one it was 16. So I'm wondering here if phones with 192 mb of ram have "bulk" ram or something - afterall, if it's 68 mb on those ozones, shouldn't it be 68 mb on the ones with 128 mb of ram?

RAM

Wat is the Ram memory in ideos?????
»Sent From Galaxy5 Android™ •Cyanogen7 v0.3fix1 ♥
I have the bestbuy version 104 I think, two cameras but with resistive touch screen and I see through quadrant it has 416mb of RAM and some other system info program
Sent from my IDEOS S7 using XDA App
does 416mb include swap and cache? i thought it was more like 256meg ram, 128 swap, 32 meg cache = 416
It doesn't have swap; it doesn't need it. It has 512mb ram with some of it allocated by the system for low-level functions like the radio, GPU framebuffer, camera firmware and such.

[Q] (Q)T-Mobile hd2 shows 403 MB RAM

I have T-Mobile HD2 with T-mobile logo and colored buttons. But ram size and device memory size shown low in hardware info. I have 2.0.8 HSPL.
Is this a fake T-Mobile..
Hardware info:
RAM: 403 MB
Device Memory:663MB
SD:14,2 GB
running android? all hd2's show around 400 - 411 meg ram when running android.
Also, the first 128 meg is taken by the graphics hardware, so it is only showing 40meg lower than expected, not 160+
Yes andoroid is running on it, I read about 128MB ram but still 40 MB is lost. and why device memory is 663MB . mgldr and clockwordmod is also installed , is it related with them. Is there a way to see the physicall memory from android .
thanks for the replies

only the data partition gets counted towards internal storage memory
