Video Out problem - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Is the Video Out different from the FUZE (touch Pro)?
I have the original cable (video out) for the Fuze (Touch Pro), my previous fone. Now I have had the Tilt 2 (touch pro 2) for the past 6 months or so and the cable didnt worked. I though I had a fone issue, but I recently got another (tilt 2) touch pro 2 and still TV out wont work...
My gf still has a fuze and the cable works perfectly on it. could both fones need different cables? I've tried NUETV out and no fix there..any other sugestions besides need to buy new cables?

Are you running the stock ROM? Because I believe you have to use a registry fix... but in my opinion I would just flash a custom ROM if you haven't already! They usually solve all the BS issues the carriers dont want to!

Agreed. I have the Fuze video out cable as well and used it to connect my Fuze to the in-dash monitor in my car. Once I got the Touch Pro2 I also had a problem with video out but after flashing a custom ROM to it the problem seemed to vanish.

i never use stock roms. im using the latest nrg cookie dinik glass version. have tried other roms, and even reverted to stock but no luck. what kind of registry did you guys changed? or where can we find the fix.thanks

Try changing:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\TVOutSetting]
"HiddenConnectSel"=dword:00000001 to 0. This will prompt you to choose which TV format to use.
Also try playing around with the following entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\TVOutPopUp]
"TVMode"=dword:00000004
Best of luck
Dan

changed those settings... still no luck.... grrr
can anyone else confirm that their tv out works, and if your cable was bought originally for the tilt 2 or the fuze? thanks

tv out

i'm pretty sure the answer's gonna be 'no' but;
can this touch pro tv out cable be used on the touch cruise, i'm assuming not but anyone know if this be hardware and drivers/software or just drivers/software, in which case can we get the appropriate software/drivers from a dumped rom and adapt?
cheers
(sorry for posting accessory query here, but there's hardly any viewers in there!)
YES
Well the Pro has the same Input as TC, so it should be not a Problem to use.
You dont need any special Software, but the Device you want to connect should have Plug&Play Support to recognize the TC.
And if no Plug & Play Support on the TV, you will defitly need a Driver for that, but every new TV has the P&P Support. I dont think that you use a 10 Years old TV

Erm... you've got UDK r9??
are you sure, only you're saying that because the connectors are the same it will, but the touch pro has the same mini usb connector as many devices/predecessors such as TC P3650 and ARTEMIS P3300 but only the latest edition - the pro - is shown on the htc site as having tv out. also
you don't sound as though you're speaking from having tried it first hand.
sorry it's just the cable costs 15-20GBP which is a fair whack if it doesn't

TC has same input as PRO?
We are talking about output here and just about every HTC phone I have used has the 11 pin mini usb plug, so does that mean every HTC has TV out?
If that is the case why has HTC not release the cable before?

Not too mention modern Motorola phones as well as many peripherials, and I don't think it would be smart to assume they have TV out as well when paired with this cable.
anyone with an excess of cash (i.e. rich) - buy a cable and try it please!

$3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

Good news. I found the magic registry hack. With the hack, all that is needed is the original -unmodified- multi-adapter that came with the Touch Pro and a cheap ipod 3.5mm AV cable (i.e., http://www.amazon.com/Macally-Audio-Video-Cable-classic/dp/B000GGQ2ZU).
Simply plug your ipod AV cable into the 3.5mm port on the multi-adapter, plug the adapter in the phone, and set the following registry entry to a value of 1:
\HKLM\Software\HTC\H2W\TVOutCableIn
Immediately after it is modified, the Video Out format selection will pop-up. Select the proper format for your display/TV, and it should immediately show up on the big screen in beautiful color with perfect sound.
When you disconnect the multi-adapter, the value of the registry entry will revert to 0.
-----------------
IMPORTANT NOTE: Apparently, not all 3.5 to RCA AV cable have the same pin-out as iPod compatible cables. You must use iPod compatible AV cables or hope that you get lucky with whatever you've got lying around.
-----------------
Great Work!!
Off the hook!!! This is gonna be sweet! Thanks for the info!
I'll write a quick lil app to do that should be able to finish it by this eve.... if someone else has done it before me welllll good haha but I'll post it up if not!
Thanks
JFlitt
Just downloaded resco. went into \HKLM\Software\HTC\H2W\TVOutCableIn
Typed 1 inplace of 0. Saved the file The tv out screen comes up but does not display anything on the tv.
Tried 2 differnt cables and 2 tvs as well.
What can i be doing wrong?

Not sure what you are doing wrong. I'm using NTSC format for video out and an ipod AV cable. Are you using a camcorder or ipod AV cable set?
Nevermind i figured it out. It was actually a bad set of cables.
video was coming out of the RED cable instead of the white one.....
Great! hack tho.. you just saved me 25$ for the cable...
I'd rather flip it myself than run the utility...yet another forum to register in

It's not a bad cable. It's right for a camcorder but I had the same issue with an ipod too
Just to be certain, is this the cable that is mentioned?
http://www.smartphoneshop.nl/product/57427/52822/3361/htc-multifunction-audio-cable-yc-a300.html
I didn't get this with my MDA Vario.
I think I have one of those cables. I don't think I'll use the VGA out though. I might try it out just for giggles.
Nice finding.

I haven't received my Pro yet, arrives later this week hopefully.
Anyhow, on all the unboxing videos I've seen, I've never spotted them unpacking this adaptor. Here's hoping that it actually does arrive with one.

Strange USB problem

I searched for this but apparently my google fu is not strong enough to dig out an answer if one exists.
I have an xv6800 (originally verizon) that the USB port stopped working on for activesync or headphones. I thought the pot was shot and was flashing it to alltel using the SD card method when I realized that the USB port works fine in bootloader mode. In fact, I loaded a new Alltel rom over USB. The USB port still did not work in windows with the new rom.
Any ideas? The headphones I was trying to use are the ones that came with my touch pro. I have also tried the audio out on the Seido dock for the 6800 and it no workee either. It used to.
Any ideas? It is not the end of the world if it does not work (this is not an active phone...I was going to use it as an Ebook reader/media player) but this really is bugging the crap out of me.

Tv out hack wont work...why not?

ive tried the hack on pocketnow and ppcgeeks that said i could use the muti headset adapter + a cab to enable the tv out option on tv out enabled htc devices...it will not work on touch pro 2...i have ipod video cables...i would like to know why it wont work...here's the thread where the cab is located and http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=5 http://rapidshare.com/files/278981860/EnableTVOutCab.CAB.html and here is where the cab is located if u dont have a ppcgeeks account
I canĀ“t get it to work on mine either. Did someone get the Rhodium to work with this hack? Or only Raphael?
i tried this today as well - doesn't seem to work on the TP2
hmmm...
why dont you just buy a tvout cable at ebay for 10 bucks, damnit.. works fine
lol ya. I got the cable and it works perfect, =)

Nice hardware mod!
A little guide with the hardware you used and steps needed to get it done would be good for users that want to try it too.

Hi
Just an infrared light and a jack phone, weld them together and use it
(I reused the infrared light in the old remote)
Havefun
But how? Is it realy working? does it work with other phones?
anybody tested this? https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01G3REX0G
will zaza remote app recognize the hardware from the 3.5mm? Can we get more details?
I recognized you
How is this different from pixel phone app?
Unfortunately it does not work with me i have ever tried the poles reversed two different infrared sensors different input devices (samsung tv,rotel receiver, motorola enz..) but what i try to get infrared is not working.
I use the custom rom pure nexus mod on the htc 10, maybe it does not work because of the custom rom.
What rom and version you on?

I also tried with one led,two leds, reversed poles but it didnt work maybe because I am on custom rom (MaximusHD 3.7.0)
I recently bought the device in the link which didnt work either.
I am reverting to stock rom to see if this would work.

I have returned my htc 10 to stock rom but unfortunately I do not get the infrared talking.
I tried it with a samsung tv / rotel ra 12 amplifier / motorola satelite / raspberry pi on volumio but none of them all work.
I have also used two different infrared sensors and I also tried reversed poles.
So the method seem to have worked only for OP. Maybe we need to know te exact audio settings he used.
