Chinese Support when using a english rom

Hi guys,
Are there files like a patch which allows one to read chinese text messages or text when on the internet while using a WWE Rom.
I am using a Trinity with the LVSW ROM.

ROM with large keyboard for SMS/EMAILs

Hi
I have an 02 Orbit on the original WM5.1 and trying to find a new ROM with new and improved UI. In particular i am trying to find a ROM that has a large keyboard for typing sms's and email's so that i can avoid using the stylus.
I have noticed most roms have a nice large keypad for dialing out but not sure about abount the messaging side
Does one exist for the artemis/orbit ?

well this is easy... just flash the ROM you like and then install EZINPUT which a larg keyboard
or try POCKETCM keyboard

Hi, am I being a bit thick here ? My rom version is 3.15.110.2 WWE but all the downloads for EZINPUT say that all the cabs and language packs are for 409 wwe roms only. Does this mean I cant install EZEinput ?

Manila on WM 6.1 ??

This is possibly a stupid question, but I would still ask:
Is it possible to have Manila for an original ROM? I would like to keep my keyboard which is Norwegian. Have tried the others keyboard, but they seem too small. Need ÆØÅ
There is no auto-complete for sms and email to contacts in the field with others keyboard.

hi ,i have same problem, i need a cab with manila 2.5 for blackstone wm 6.1,
i dont want to install a new rom. its this possible?

installing manila via cab is hardly possible, and not recommended at all.
there are, saidly, no win 6.1 manila 2.5 roms. miri once cooked one, but it's discontinued now.

HD2 HTC Touch input - how to rip and make a CAB?

i flashed my HD2 from CHT version to
RUU_Leo_HTC_Asia_WWE_1.48.707.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship
and now this rom has Text Input: English (Standard, T9, Handwriting); Chinese Traditional (Stroke/PinYin/BoPoMoFo)
Thats really great, but how could i extrract the SIP and make a CAB for it?
because i may flash to my HD2 to others rom, so i do want it to have the Touch Chinese input function.

I have flashed the same rom over the taiwan HD2 as you but i do not have bopomofo on my sip. Only pinyin/stroke/handwriting. Also pinyin is simplified chinese while handwriting has the option for recognizing traditional/simpilified or both. I want my pinyin to be traditional chinese. Maybe a bad flash or a setting i can adjust????

maybe we can rip the one from taiwan HD2 (chinese traditional) Rom. It has botj the Englsih and chinese SIP which i liked.

Frankly ... I am one of them that likes the chinese input.
If somebody really could extract the SIP .... THAT WILL BE GREAT!!

+1 on this suggestion. I wonder if this thread would get more attention if it is placed in the LEO ROM Development section, as that is where all the software engineer types hang out.

Really hope so .... frankly ... it is like Transcriber .... just that it is for Chinese instead of English.

Yes the Taiwanese one would be very popular. I did have it, then switched to the Singapore, but of course lost the traditional chinese input.

I love the chinese input too.. Hopefully some one will help us with it.

Still no cab file for chinese input using strokes ... *sigh*

This is the only thing that stops me from flashing the 1.6xWWE custom rom, so somebody pleassssse help us to extract the CHT handwriting input...

I just flashed the SEA 1.66 version.. and was so sad about losing the CHT handwriting input..
hope either someone can help us with this one, or HTC release the CHT 1.66 soon!

I will try to extract the the packages and make a cab. I can't promise anything as sometimes these things just don't work. Also I'm not sure what to do with the Lang package. they are usually 0804 but if I cook a 0409 WWE ROM I have to have this package. I don't guess there is a 1.61 or 1.66 Taiwan ROM? If not I will download the 1.48 and try to get the packages out.

actually i hv tried to extract the ezinput from Asia_WWE_1.66 and made a CAB. Yes it can be installed into some WWE rom like Kwbr_Topix or Duttys and the phone will have the Chinese keyboard. But regret i cannot type Chinese even though hd2 already has a Chinese font cab on it. Others input cab like ZTA4 can type Chinese.
What i want is to install the Chinese EZinput into others WWE cooked rom.

Any progress?
Just wondering if there is any progress for support of traditional Chinese and cabs that can install the fonts and keyboard in a ROM that does not have a Chinese UI?

actually i hv tried to make a CAB from Asia 1.66 rom ->package file "IME_CHS_2_1_19203826_00".
Yes. it works on HD but not HD2.
So far still dont know how to make it works on HD2.
may need some help from god.

Multilingual - DE - IT - FR Swiss Email Problem

Dear All,
I've bought the HTC HD Mini few days ago and can't get email reply/new messages working on a fresh Multilingual Swiss French install. Once I click reply/new message nothing happens...
Tried several times hard reset but still nothing. I have tried to install the Swiss German version a it work like a charm.
I'm very new to WM and HTC products and I'm very frustrated not being able to write and reply to my mails.
Please could someone help me to get this working.

In fact, I cannot realy help you, because I have exacly the same issue.
I opened a tread by HTC, but without any success.
In fact, they respond to me that I have to phone directly to the EU support.
The probem is that I broke my phone and I am waiting its return.

Could some one give us the FRENCH name of the "mail-anlagen" folder on SD card ?
I suppose that renaming this folder in FRENCH it will work, but still yet no one gave me this name.

Hi. I have the same problem with a HD mini multilingual GER FRE ITA.
I could perform some tests, the problem appears only when you install it in Italian or French. Installing it in German it works fine.
I opened a ticket by HTC, they answered that they are aware of the problem and they are already working for a solution. I hope there will be a patch downloadable from the support site ASAP.

In fact, I suppose the french and italian version to create a wrong folder "mail-Anlage" on SD card. Perhaps if some one could be able to give me the right folder name in French, I could try to work aroud this issue.

I looked for the name in my old Windows Mobile 5.0 device and I tried to rename that folder, but no luck.
Perhaps it has been changed in Win Mobile 6.5...
I'll wait for an official answer by HTC.

Hoping it resolves this issue I tryed to update the ROM to the last official one 1.36...
I used my S/N in order to download the right version.
After I installed the new ROM... I discover that only GERMAN was aviable no more french or italian version !
I asked help to HTC... no answer !
I took the decision to flash the French orginal ROM... It was not simple but actually I am very happy and the mail works perfectly.

I want my HD mini speak French. How do I do?

AFAIK you have to flash a new ROM for this.

No, normally, with the original multilingual version 1.07.xxx you have only to hard reset the phone. At startup, it will ask for the language. But this version has a bug with email, if you don't use it ok, elsewhere you will have to install the new 1.36 ROM.
If you download the new version from HTC with your serial #, you will receive a german version only. After that you have to contact the HTC support, they will provide an add on for multilanguage, and all works ok.
Another option is to install the original french version 1.36.xxx as explained somewhere in this forum.

The hard reset did not regulate the probleme.
I'll try to replace my ROM by the last ROM french but i want be sure. Is Tom Photon V1.2 Buid 24622 the good version to flash my ROM

Ok, you probably have an original German version. If you had a multingual version is writen on the case with a red label (FRANCAIS / ITALIANO / DEUTSCH). It seems this version is only provided in Switzerland. If you realy own an original mutiligual version the hard reset reinstall all the soft, operators and ask for language at the first startup only.
Remark : For hard reset, after turing off the phone (power for a while) you have to push Volume + and Volume - buttons in the same time at statup (power).
You have two options
1) Official with maintaining the warranty
- Download and install officilal ROM from HTC with serial #. You will receive a German version 1.36.xxx. Don't panic it is all under control
- Ask to HTC suport the addon for multiligual, or download it here :

2) Install the original French ROM
