Volume Issue - G1 General

While the side volume calls seem to work fine while in a call, when I go to menu>settings>sound & display...no matter what level I slide the media level to, the sound coming out of the device remains the same...The ringer volume seems to work a little better. ideas?

Low volume when using phone problem

Hi
I have an odd problem with my XDA2s.
If I play a media file the speaker and wired headset volume is fine.
If i make or receive a call the volume is very low (even when set at maximum on both the XDA and the wired headset).
Has anyone seen this problem before or is aware of a fix?
Cheers,
The in call volume level isn't controlled by the sliders at the top of the screen but by the volume hardware slider on the side of the phone during a call. Try just pushing it up during a call.

Distorted chiming sound while adjusting volume - normal?

Hi,
I seem to be fairly happy with my HD2 in terms of sound etc - then again I'm not all that picky when it comes to volume I can hear it and the volume control gives me a good ranges of options from quiet to loud so happy days!
However, when adjusting the system volume from the main home screen (and btw have mine set to the default 'single volume' setting) for each up/down tap I make the chime/beep it gives is terrible sounding - like the speaker is completely knackered! That said, when the phone rings / nav directions / txt message alert / speaking to another person on the phone it seems fine.
Anyone else noticed this?!

[Q] Volume changes after some events

This one has been bugging me for a while and for the most part I've just worked around it (by manually triggering the bug/fix myself first).
The situation is that X1 starts off at a particular volume level, and I start listening to music via PocketPlayer though from what I can tell it happens regardless. It sounds "ok", but noticeably flat? I dunno like a mono audio file even volume turned up, although I can't confirm that. Just describing.
OK the bug - if some kind of event happens, the volume suddenly jumps up, without actually changing the setting. So I'll be listening to music and if one of the following occurs:
1. receive or send an SMS/MMS
2. I toggle the phone function, i.e. turn off phone radio. when I turn it back on the volume doesn't change
the volume jumps up, and I have to say the music sounds much better. On the flip side, when the phone happens to ring, it's loud as hell, distorts like hell and annoys everyone in the process. The ringtone volume just sounds over-the-top.
Now I'm pretty sure it's not the music player because #2 (toggling the phone) seems to affect the volume already. The message box alert sound on toggling the phone seems louder the second time.
Anyone have or notice this issue?
The only volume threads I find are all about a low constant volume and don't sound like this one. FWIW I did try the reg changes anyway. It still varies.

Very loud call volume

I'm having problems with call volume. It's very loud. Everytime I try to turn it down with volume buttons I see "bluetooth" volume bar and it doesn't chane anything. To access normal (built-in speaker) volume settings I have to switch loudspeaker on and then switch it off. Then icon changes from bluetooth to normal speaker and I can change call volume but it's still to loud even on min. level wich is 20% as I can't go lower either by using vol buttons or sliding on volume bar.
Also I noticed that there are only 5 steps in call volume settings. Going down from 100% I can go 4 steps down to 20%. Fifth step would be 0% but it just won't go down below 20%.
Anyone know how to fix it?
I tried Gravitybox, but it changes steps for media volume only.
I have android 8.0
bump & update
Bluetooth volume bar only shows for first call after phone reboot. After doing the loudspeaker on/off trick with every next call volume buttons change ear speaker volume (very slightly and only 4 steps)

Call volume too high on headphones/earphones

That's pretty much it.
Volume is normal on the speaker during calls but as soon as I plug in a pair of headphones/earphones the volume gets too loud even if I keep it at the lowest setting. It is so high that it becomes physically painful to keep using them so I'm forced to keep on using the phone speaker which to be honest is not something that I like to do while at my desk.
The media volume is completely normal regardless of wether I'm using headphones or not, this problem seems to appear only during calls.
Please help.
