found factory cube, sorta - Touch CDMA General

so i found the cube that comes with the Sprint Touch. Well, sorta. If you have S2U2, get to the screen that says "Slide to Unlock", and move your finger up and down REALLY fast for a few seconds. If you did it right, the factory built in cube will show up.

wait, i'm just a moron. I had no idea moving your finger from bottom to top brought up the cube. HAHAHA. Gotta love not reading the manual!

LOL.
It's ok. I was looking for the stupid cube application launch button to because I didn't read the manual.. And you just told me how to use it!
So at the very least you helped a fellow newbie that doesn't like manuals how to use the cube. Thanks!

Left hand scroll bar in IE?!

Does anyone know if there's a setting to change the scroll bar from right to left in IE? I looked around but no joy. Thanks lads.
Other than using the unit upside down, I dont think this is possible! I am assuming that you are left handed ?
Nigel
It would be a nice option, not just for Universal, but for Win Mobile in general. I am left-handed, and the vertical scrolling is a PITA. I can not see where I am scrollling to because my left hand is covering the screen, and sometimes even accidentally touching it & activating links.
Same problem here Bill. Anyway, maybe someday Microsoft will make something for us the left handed ones. And thanks for the great tip veletron. lol (I can actually do more or less the same things with both hands but fot this I rather use the left.)
Couldn't you use the scroll buttons instead?
I'm working on something that could be hacked into assisting this, but it'd be a bit of a cludge.
If there's a need shout out and I'll see if I can get around to it.

I have tried using the scroll buttons, but they don't really scroll, rather they jump from link to link (in PIE) which resulsts in very jerky screen movements, and that is not very useful for me.
Then I tried a registry hack mentioned on another forum to make the button do real screen scrolling, but when I tried to use it, the device froze, and sent me to Hard Reset H*ll.
Ideal for me would be in PIE would be scroll bars on the left and buttons that really scrolled. Actually scroll bars on the left would be nice in every application.
It is not a necesity for me, but the bar on the right is an inconvenience --mainly in PIE.
Lefty here as well dude. Would be great to have a less discriminatory device
The worst thing is, that when you use the scroll bar with your left hand, you can't really see when to stop since your hand is covering most of the screen.

[Q]Closing apps with a gesture on screen???

I just bought a Touch phone and I like it very much. Before this I had a Prophet and I was afraid I would miss the extra hardware buttons the Prophet has.
The only button I really do miss is the "close" or "ok" button to close aplications.
I think it would be great if there could be a program made that uses a finger gesture on screen to close apps instead of poking at the x with my big fingers.
Anyone ever seen such a thing?
Swipe to close
C'mon people, you know what I mean...
just like closing the cube by a downward swipe it should be possible to close an aplication by somekind of swiping motion across the screen shouldn't it?
Think about it...
Instead of "slide to unlock" we can call it "swipe to close"
I close apps just using the phone red button!

Yes, thats possible too, but that closes everything that is open. I would like to close only one window at a time.
example:
Lets say you are in windows media player library and would like to close it and return to windows mediaplayer itself by closing the library. If I would push the red button it closes everything including the player and return to the home screen instead of the player.
"Swipe to close" should work exactly like the "x"
It would be really cool/useful to do that.
Even though It sounds easy, it is quite difficult to program this thing ( not impossible though).
Years back there was already a phone called NeoNode1 that had the swiping thing figured out. It was also windows based so maybe this can be used as a startingpoint.

With TouchFLO the problem will always be with apps that have scrolling windows. How should the downward motion be interpreted ?
Close app or scroll up ?
ZapIt
If you are not too particular abt the swipe gesture, use ZapIt ( attached)and map it to the camera button. It closes only the active application at a time.Works beautifully on my touch.
If you encounter an invalid certificate problem, download Enable_Rapi.zip from Pof's thread about CID Unlock and follow the instructions. (The sticky on the Elf Upgrading section)
Yeah, but than we would need to build a swipe to operate the camera.
I would like to swipe and close without losing other functionality. The swiping motion can be anythin from making a diagonal swipe to circles or anything inbetween.
If this can be cracked there might be much more functions that can be operated in this type of manor.
Unfortunately I don't know much about building such a thing so if there is a hardcore techie out there that wants to take the challange, be my guest!!!

That's not true.... you'll only have to make the camera start from today screen. You can still make a picture with the button afterwards. Just try it (don't forget enable_rapi)!
@veeru27: Thanks for the cab! It works great!
try search for "finger launcher"... something i posted awhile back in the general elf forum

vippie,
You're welcome.
Actually, how many of you do actually use the cube? If not many, it would be nice to have to have the slide up and down motion that launches and ends the cube, to be used to end applications instead.. just a thought...
Search for FtouchFlo to configure Swiping commands.

Fingerprint keylock

hey everyone,
i saw this and did some searching but wasnt able to come up with much, i was just wondering if anyone had seen, heard or has this interesting software anyway heres the link to see it in action
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1DxJeHe1v0
thanks

Fake. This has already been brought up.
It slide 2 lock with a skin and a little modification.
Look at his left thumb. when his right thumb presses down.
Also you cant use finger print reading software on you ppc.
The screen is not capable of reading fingers.
If you put you finger on you T.V all you would get is a smudge. Same thing on ppc.
if anyone knows how to edit the image of the unlock portion of batterystatus. Than the fingerprint would be a piece of cake to put in

I don't know how to look for this on here..HTC sense quicklinks?

After installing the update from TMO, The little bar that flips between mail, home, internet, images, music, etc. "shrinks" into a little black tab in the middle of my screen at the bottom.
This is super super annoying because it takes an extra effort to click on the damn thing and then slide my finger to scroll. This also requires a second tap on the screen when i go to browser because the first one simply 'collapses' the little thing and the second one will actually respond to the internet icon you're tapping on.
Tell me there's a way to turn off the collapse of this stupid thing. I tried looking on here but I don't know what keywords to use to search this out. Something like 'htc sense update hd2 registry change' yields nothing.
TIA

It sounds to me like you have cookies home tab enabled?! That is strange are you sure you didn't flash to a custom rom?! I have that one my phone and I have the update but the only way I was able to get that was with CHT. I have attached examples.
Yep! I do have cookies home tab installed! Dang..so is the setting in that to change it? :bangs head:
I'll take a look.
WTHAT A MORON. Thats its. The 'retractable slider' setting. I can't believe I didn't realize that was cookie and not HTC.
Thanks a million for pushing me in the right direction.
Awesome! Glad I could help! I had that enable for a while but it became a little annoying so I took it off! Hahahaha it does make it look really cool!
Hey, thanks for the info. I'm glad I learned about that.
I also have Cookies, and didn't know about that.
Now I have just enabled that feature. Why? I don't find that "ribbon" at the bottom very useful, as it is not very customizable. Nice to have the settings button there at the right, but one can also do that with a Quick Link. I like the music app, but one can also do a quick link for that. Withouth that ribbon, there is room for another row of quick links. (I find it unfortunate that that "ribbon" is so uncustomizable. You cannot choose what is in it, but only what to remove (other than settings and home). (I don't really need that home icon either, because there is a hardware button for home.) I don't like how that "People" tab goes to "HTC People". I'd rather go straight to the regular contacts list. But it can't be changed (AFAIK), only removed.
So by retracting it, I remove the whole thing (can slide it back if I want), but can put the links I like in that ribbon into quick links, for which there is now more room.
Thank you.

A quick way to flip through home screens.

Just messing around on my xoom and found a nice feature. If you press on the far right or left of the screen it quickly flips to the next coresponding homescreen. Sorry if most already know this just thought I would add to the community since I have benifited from the hard work of others here on XDA. If you have already found this then sorry for the post.
Edit:
Seems to work in the app drawer as well. Enjoy!
