There is nothing wrong with being helpful. But it is how you help. When you help in this kind of a situation it only confirms in a persons mind that all they need to do is ask!! And on this forum that wrong. Here the forum rules cleary state to search first. They are outlined in great detail. So giving answers on redunt threads started like these only goes to encourage that kind of behaviour. Did you think that if goofeyass had the cab then he must have gotten it somewhere as well?? Then this guy can search and locate it.

@Curious George: Every single post I have seen of yours in the past few days seems to be *****ing about new threads etc. Why? It's been going on for ages and it's not going to stop, especially with such a crude attitude to it, so why bother annoying people? It might increase your post count but it's incredibly annoying for everyone!

GEORGE! A great way to control a forum is to let the moderators do they job. If disagreed the topic would be locked, or better: deleted. The forum rules clearly state: Only post here if you are a developer/resource etc... If you go hard into the rules then you just broke them as well. Until a moderator speaks we should be nice. I'm sure you are nice as well but you just dont sound like that. A good community way of saying what you just did is:
"Here is your file. Next time, please take the time to search thus NOT spamming the forum with useless threads."
And see: now even I broke the forum rule ;P
Part from this: The forum search function here sux bigtime and its a bottleneck to this great place. Atleast, I think we both can agree to that.

I know dude! I've been extremely busy..
graduating this Saturday ... and I took an overload of classes, I even had to get approval from the Dean in order to take that many ... so the past month has been rough!! My last final exam is tomorrow ... then Saturday I graduate!

Why don't you try them both - you will have the best answer you can get. Asking which ROM is better is a nasty way to pollute this forum. Please read HELP for NEW GUYS.

It is not my intention to pollute anything. I just though it could be useful to read to good and the bad of each ROM by informed people like you.
Personally I like to read reviews and also to add things to them...
Syrius is a GREAT ROM but has some bugs. Wouldnt you be happy to read if the alternative ROM has the same bugs before you loose one hour of your time flashing the ROM, uploading stufff etc?

If you do not want to pollute you should read threads related each of these ROMs and make up your mind.
If you decide to try some ROM you could leave your opinion (if you have something new to say) about it in appropriate thread. That way if someone will want to know pros and cons about those ROMs they will easily find it.
I don't want to be harsh but if we keep these forums as clean as possible they will be more useful for everyone.

Your advice is for reader who barely know how to flash their devices to read 90 pages of posts, some of them being just " " "Great" etc... and you feel uncorfortable with a topic were people compare real bugs.
Opal doesnt even have a feature list...
Anyway, please close this topic... I have read most of the 90 pages of the Syrius posts and am well aware of its bugs.
I also would like for keeping this forum up and let us use all the information provided. I truly thank you all!

Think about it a second. You could not reach the info you wanted because of polluted thread. You tried to solve your problem by creating one more unnecessary thread. Is this the correct way to make the information easily accessible? Is this the way you would like this forum to look like? It is already in horrible state now, please do not make it even worse for all of us.

Actually @silaval is right, why should we read hundreds of "great" and "thanx" postings to find out some real oppinions, instead of creating a new thread , a tehnical one? I don't say it is a good ideea to open new threads when a previous one gets polluted with nonsense posts, but forum amins should give more moderating rights for the ones who really contribute to those threads (chefs, rom makers, SERIOUS beta testers like @batista70, @NeoS2007, @ravest etc) to keep clean this forum. I am moderator in some gsm repairing related forums and the thing I hate most is the pollution with nonsense "thanx" messages. Posters, if you wanna contribute with feedback, do it, if you can't than donate, othervise shut up, but don't post just for the sake of posting, or to increase post count, it doesn't helps!

silaval is absolutely right, its not the same thing if a board is polluted or a thread. Just think further guys, the REALLY important topics are either sticky or are nearly always on top of the first page, cause people post into them so much. So, I agree with you, avoiding unnecessary threads is a good thing - but the problem with "thank you" posts is a MUCH bigger problem.
@mano42: I second that, hopefully admins will integrate that feature, would save aprox. 50 posts / ROM thread.

Way to kill a possibly informative thread guys...he asked a very practical question. Both of these ROMs come from different sources and have pretty different pros and cons and both release posts have a ton of filler so it's difficult to see possible bugs in the ROM. Instead of berating him for 4 or 5 posts, how about you just weigh in on the topic at hand? The only other alternative should be to ignore the post and let it drop down the list of posts.
To answer his question, I find the bugs in Syrius R0 to not be too bad and the things added make it one of the fastest/lightest ROMs I've used on a HTC device. Since R1 was just released, it should be a moot point now as most of those bugs have been quashed.
Guess you'll have to wait a bit for any answers since R1 just came out :O

I don't think so, the day has passed without th HSPL release "as usual". We should be more patient and wait for Cmonex announcemnt, and Cmonex only, discard any other fake rumors.
Pretty ridiculous that the thread got closed again. Someone asked a valid question and now can't get an answer, nobody was fighting - no need to close it.
I think HSPL won't be released today. It's been the second time now that somebody claimed it would be released, and again nothing happened.
the reason for closing it, is that ppl cant stay on topic, and are talking about flashing this or that rom (official ones) testing drivers, etc. Is that staying on topic?
And I asked many times if ppl can stay on the topic, obviously thats hard to understand?

Everyone who owns a leo wants a HSPL badly. And cmonex or any other developers do not work in xda forum full time earning a salary waiting for SPL to hack, They are doing all this in their own free time. And please kindly understand. No one from the dev team says anything about releasing HSPL today. And those questions of when will it be done, and when will it release? does not helps in getting the HSPL release earlier.

This is what Ive noticed, especially when there are some new update for modules and ROM's;
1. A massive repeated posting regarding new updates.
Its not that we dont want to help you guy's who has difficulties installing ROMs/Module to your phone, but please before posting new topic make sure you consult SEARCH button first, then if you dont find any answer thru searching then its the time to consult. I dont know if we are just lazy to search or what. This is all for us to have a well organized Section and for us to find topic easily. Isnt great to have a single thread so that newbie will not have to search back and post a new topic with already answered one? As you can see Forum for X8 and other are already Categorized, so please post in the right section. Some user made an effort already to organize the topics by making a FAQ with it, so i suggest we should use it for general concern about specific topic. Maybe we can control this massive posting by just dont answering there query if we knew that there question already been answered. Hmm dont think that's rude but i think it will help. Coz if we answer it, they will keep on doing that all over again if they encounter another problem. I also admit that I did this sometime thats why if you could notice i use "we". And i want to change it.
2. Flamming
also known as bashing, is hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. It is clearly noticeable, that we argue in certain things, but please not to the point that we are already fighting/degrading and hurting someone's feeling so please RESPECT each other, If your good/great then be it, but we have to welcome a newbie gracefully, lets make them feels that they were home and accepted. Im sure we once get here clueless about things or if not, not so knowledgeable enough, we are not in a competition here and we don't question your greatness and knowledge, were proud of it. This is a training ground not a battle ground. Were here to have a harmonious relationship with others, besides we are all FAMILY here. I know for some reason that we just dont stay here to get what we want to our phone, but simply to help each other.
3. Patience
I know it is good to have all what we want, but please stop forcing/requesting repeatedly to our developer, we didnt hired them to work for us, besides they are sharing there work for FREE, and even they ask for some donations, well they have the right to do so, as they are working for us. Imagine if all our developer will be get hired by SE and charge us for all their great work. They will have a better career there, and what do you think will happened to us who are just benefited by there free work? Think of that. So please let's be patient, extend your patience give all there time to find the solution. BTW reporting bugs is different from asking/requesting. It just make our dev's annoyed and might lose interest to work for our many cries. They want to give us a stable home for our phone and they knew about that, so we dont have to tell them what to do, well in fact they know more than you do.
These are just some of my observation. Dont get me wrong here coz its for the common good. I may not give you any ROM,s or Module but i can give you Life Lesson and Love. And if you will hate me for this, well sorry but i will just love you and hug you until such time you realize what I am saying here.
Isn't it great to have a good relationship with everyone and i doubt that you don't feel something when you help someone! I just dont get ROM, Modules and learning here, the most important I gained friends!

Well i think its normal for them to ask, coz we the user use more our phone than they do. It will took them sometime to release a ROM is they will test every single function in there work. There work is to provide us the ROM/Modules. If they asked us to look for bugs, then that's also the time for us to work, in return with there great work. Coz i know that they will stop developing if we dont tell them about the problem we encountered. Besides they also get idea's to us. Many heads are better than One. And this is also what you called helping hands. Give and Take process not Take and Take (that's a bad idea) .. wink. oh btw I love ya too.

I daily check some forums (not only x8) and what i mostly see is people that reply to newbie posts in a rude and useless way, we all hate double posts, no search, requests, stupid posts but keep in mind that when you reply " yo, arent you able to use search ?" "use the dammit search!" , these are posts count at my eyes and rude replies.( i hate them )
If you find that someone did the same post over and over, if someone didn't use the search button or whatever, just ignore to reply and pm or report me and i will do something.

I think they will not delete it without a reason or purpose. Maybe your post was against the rules (i dont know), but im pretty sure Mod's here has its reason, and if it doesnt abuse/break rules then you can consult our moderators. Im pretty sure that they will give time to listen to your query or statement. Remember that they were chosen well and proved enough to be helpful. I think no mods here are using there power as a reason.
I firmly believes in the power of reason, not in the use of power/force as a reason.

I totally agree with you, If we dont have something good to say nor help better we keep our mouth shut, coz words is extremely hurtful. We encourage newbie to learn so that one day they will contribute to us, not discourage them because of our rude manners. I always say this, make them feel at home. Coz were once a newbie too.

There should really be a separate thread for each rom opened up where all the bugs noticed and reported back in the development thread will get addressed with the solution.

I deletd the that thread (and other 2) because there was another one made before and as the multitouch thread in the past, i've found useless having 8 threads for the same purpose.
Anyway i did copy your post and another one from the delòeted one and the sticky that i made early.

thanks for ur reply man and i'm sry for accusing without knowing carefully what i should have said
anyways i pm'd 2 dev's now n i'm w8ing for a reply so the question is if what i've found is actually a dt driver is it ok if i open a thread in the dev section or should i pm some1 else who can actually develope it and he should do what he has to do :S confused ...

Yes and this will organize everything.
That's a nice idea indeed.
You only need someone that take care of the thread while copying all reported bugs and fixes from the thread to the first page, otherwise it will be difficult to track bugs.

No worrie man, i didn't take it as an offence .....sometimes mods are seen as cops and you are not happy when you got an infraction from them
Anyway if you will find that it is a driver or something related to development, you can make a thread in dev forum:
_ give proper how to install
_ give credit where it's right
_ dont post any help questions
and you are done.
