can any budy post the wm5 download link
there is no 2005 for wallaby
why it is impossible to have WM5 in XDAI?
XDAI have at least 32mb ROM, too. Why? :?
Somebody tell me plz?
roms are made 100% for a device
it's not like windows on a pc which have all known drivers
roms have only the stuff made for the device
so unless a wm2005 rom is leaked for wallay
like they were for himalaya and blue angel
it's impossible
wallaby's memory is to less for wm2005. there must be at least 64mb of flash-rom better 128mb like the new ppc's and smartphones have. and what rudegar said is still true: no wm2005 wallaby specific hardware drivers available = no wallaby wm2005 rom.

peter

About a week ago we were all getting excited about the XDA II & SE and all the new product anouncements........ and..... its all gone very quiet....
Does anyone have any updates, a confirmed release date, or screenshots to confirm its going to happen ?
The latest news has O2 not releasing the SE update for XDA II devices. (File under "ways to lose repeat business and word of mouth.")

Yes, but they *are* releasing SE for the XDA IIs and IIi. I doubt it'll be too hard to port the ROM accross, as they're basically the same hardware with a little added WiFi and keyboard.
WM2003SE
No any news!!!!
if manufacturer release rom for WM2003SE, it will kill the market of XDA2s & XDA2i models which will roms on WM2003SE.
let's hope WM2003SE for our device!!!.
and now !! FORGET IT about SE !!!!
thanks

Can we cook a ROM for the MDA 2 based on SE?
Hi folks:
I don't need the little keyboard and I don't need Wi-Fi. But I do need the landscape rotation on the fly (Nyditot does not quite do it). Of course, the solution is a ROM cooked with SE as its base.
Can this be done?
Thanks,
Fernando
there is no such thing as people being able to cook with a basic windows ce version
all roms ever installed on our devices have been modified versions of roms released from htc
pocketpc is not like windows where you can install it on different pc's with different hardware
all drivers are hardcoded and all devices must be present and the same
thats the reason you cant install a xda2 rom on a xda1 or a ipaq rom on any of them
and people cant install xda3 on the rest of them
so unless they as in htc (o2 tmobile ...) release 2003SE to xda2 and xda1 then i dont see it happening
I have an XDAII ROM running perfectly on my XDAI
And have every intention of trying to upgrade it to SE when somone takes the ROM off the XDAIII and it shows up in a ROM kitchen.
Yes it may invalidate my warranty and some inbuilt utils are useless(WLAN / photo / bluetooth) on the XDA I - but overall it will be an upgrade to have landscape capability and other inclusions.
Just because it's not an official upgrade does not mean that the smart folks here won't find a way to make it work ( but at your own risk)!!
which version is that ?
1.60? 1.66? 1.72 ?
i've never heard anybody doing that before
are you sure you just dont have a 2003 xda1 rom on your device ?
Good point -
I should have been clearer.
It is ROM version 4.00.05 which I had cooked from a kitchen.
I have recently cooked another ROM with base version 4.01.12!
Will this not work on the XDA1 then?
Please advise as I have not yet installed it.
Do you feel that the WM2003 SE will not be able to be ported to an XDA2 as an upgrade unofficially??
Jayman
yes it will as will all roms made in kitchens
there are no kitchens for xda2 roms because they use the extented rom to store special programs and cant have them cooked the way
xda1 roms can so you can install that rom just like the one you already have
Thanks for clearing that up.
So do you think this community will be able to find a work around to port WM2003SE to the XDA2?
As it will effect my hardware upgrade path decision.
Thanks
Jayman

people talk about it here
I own a Qtek 2020i - UK Vodafone model. I am looking to upgrade to WM2005 and can only find info about the ROM for the 2020. Does anyone have the link for the 'i' edition of the WM2005 ?
Actually , there is ANY "i" version of wm2005 ...
Windows Mobile is ONLY for himalaya ..
that's all
Clarification
Just to clarify - upon referring to an 'i' version I am meaning is there a version for the Qtek 2020i / Andes / xda2i or whatever other name it maybe know as depending on your manufacture.
I am NOT referring to the Qtek 2020 or XDA2 or Himalaya
or will WM2005 work on any Pocket PC phone ?
the 2005 that people have and can flash on the pda here
ONLY! works on himalaya
no device can use other roms then ones make 100%! for the device
But if your head is hard as stone and try your luck go to www.buzzdev.net
There is no luck to try, there is no WM2005 for anything other than the HTC Typhoon smartphone, or HTC Himalaya PPC Phone.
If you try on any other devices, it will not work, simple.
if it can, where can get rom
I think the hardware of the Wallaby isn´t enough to use WM 5.0 on this device. There is no ROM Image available and i don´t belive that there ever will be a Image. Until now there isn´t a image for the Magician device, which is much more porefull than the Wallaby....
Stefan
Well according to this thread on Buzzdev.net it is possible to install WM2005 on the Audiovox PPC-5050BM. This device is the “Falcon” which physically appears quite similar to the Wallaby. Apparently it is the CDMA version of the Wallaby.

It does have a faster processor then the standard Wallaby but has the same amount of RAM/ROM. 64 RAM, and 32 ROM.
I have asked the question of whether or not WM2005 can in fact be (or has successfully been) installed on this device as this is the device that I have. I would LOVE to get it running on this device.
How can i upgrade my Wallaby device to WM 5.0? Is there a WM 5.0 ROM file for my device? Or i can create a new ROM file using another WM 5.0 ROM for different brand device?
My Latest Device Info:
Rom:4.02.04 ENG, 8/24/05
Radio:4.21.00
Protocol:32S54

http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Himalaya_2005
No its not possible
jpflaw00 if u have found a way to squeeze 64mb of os into a 32mb chip on a wallaby to run wm5 then why the hell are you not working for htc  the link you give is for himalaya devices not wallabys
i thought i replied back to this already, but yea it's not possible...btw buzz says:
the sx56 is claimed to be a Himalaya, check in Device info for PH10A or PH10B, these are indicators that device is a hima.
read the this STICKY too!
