There is a link to PPC singapore users who tested almost all sd/compact flash available in the market.

Pare,
The speed of the card makes no difference in the Jam...
Don't know why, but it really doesn't.
Bad trip no?

How Much
Pre,
If you don't mind me asking, how much is the Jam there in the Phils. Thanks.

Re: How Much
Well, it ranges from P30,000 to P40,000. Some very enterprising shops try to sell it at P42,000 to P45,000. I got mine abroad for 28,000

Cheapest place for 2gb minisd plus card reader

Im looking for something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOPRAM-2gb-mi...9QQihZ011QQcategoryZ96991QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Preferably with the card reader to be able to attach to a key ring like a memory stick.
Thanks!
Seems reasonable, so why dont you buy it ?
yeah..... it is cheap.... (even the price listed is less than the postal charges .... but when the bid closes will be knowing what the final price!....)
For those in the US
I got in on this deal over the holiday weekend with free shipping. Ground shipping will add about $6 to the order. Still not a bad deal for 2Gb. I paid $69.99 plus shipping not that long ago for a Sandisc 2Gb card that I managed to lose in a drunken birthday celebration. This is an 80x replacement that holds its own against the Sandisc card.
http://shop2.outpost.com/product/4858780
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820233032 is what I got...I know it is a 1GB, but you can check for the 2GB ones on newegg's website...they also have cheap 9/10 in one readers there.[/url]
I use pricegrabber.com to compare prices across a variety of sites.
Do you really think thats a good price? I was hoping to sneak one for like £20 off ebay but I think I may be dreaming.
Im really after the card ready that will fit onto my key ring but cant find any anywhere :-(
Does anyone know when the new size cards will be out?
Did anyone notice the $46 shipping fee to the U.S., slightly less to U.K.? This could mark a new record for price gouging for shipping on Ebay.
...
Chris - if I was you I would stay clear of cheap mini-sd cards. If you read the posts where the card goes wrong its usually the cheap variety! I use mobymemory 2gb card - £40 but worth it! I can record 320 x 240 video using coolcamera with no slowdown compared to main memory - now that rocks!
Are Sandisk cards okay?

ya I've had good experience with the SanDisk cards. I bought a Corsair Card this time around. It was a tad bit more...but I felt it was worth it considering the cost of this phone.

Think it's just a shade over £40 for sandisk 2gb + usb 2.0 reader, that's what I ordered just recently

Will these 4Gb mini SD cards work?

These cards seem to be a good deal.
WIll a 4Gb card work OK in an Orange M3100?
No.
You need microSD (which used to be called Transflash i think).
That's MiniSD.. It's physically too big.
MyMemory in the UK do a 2GB one for 47.99
There are no microSD larger than 2GB available at the moment. 1GB is quite common.. 2GB is harder to find in the UK, and thats the best price i've found yet... I've ordered one but havent got it yet as i only got the M3100/Hermes last week.
Edit: Oh just to annoy me.. the site you were looking at is quite a bit cheaper for the 2GB microSD. lol
http://www.picstop.co.uk/Micro-SD---TransFlash/SanDisk-Micro-SD-(TransFlash)---2GB
£40
Is it advisable to stick to known brand names or does that not matter any more? Are there any problems in using a 2gb one as I've read about slowness with the 1gb ones?? TIA
Nope thats a MiniSD. Hermes uses a MicroSD. I recently bought a Sandisk 2GB MicroSD for $70 on EBAY. I use the Micro to put around 1.8gb of music and I notice no slow down. The rest of the memory I put around 4-5 games and I only notice in one game call 3D Air Hockey slow downs.

I beleive those were SANDISK, not Samsung. And again, I don't think they are avail yet. Should be before Xmas.
Re: C4 or C6, does the Kaiser even take advantage of the C6 speed? i.e. I know it can read it, but can it read/write that fast to it to see the differencebetween C4 and C6? I've asked this and no one has answered it.

Looking at the cards at elite show that they are all Class 2.
Do a search on ebay, there are 6gb class 4 cards for about $70 (the same as elite class 2). But they are the first 8gb cards I have seen.
Thanks,

the top memory card is always overpriced, considering the nuisance of carrying one of those tiny things and exchanging it out, especially if your running programs off it, its worth it.

I contacted memorybits.co.uk in the UK and they said hopefully by 2nd November it will be in stock. Not a bad price at £55.
And still no answer to this question:
Re: C4 or C6, does the Kaiser even take advantage of the C6 speed? i.e. I know it can read it, but can it read/write that fast to it to see the difference between C2, C4, and C6? I've asked this and no one has answered it.
I mean, why wait or pay extra for a C6 if the TyTN II reader can't even sustain that speed?
IMHO, it doesn't really matter. If you want to xfer a large amount of data onto or off the card, the extra bandwidth will be useful.
Plus, I *always* try and buy the best quality part I can. For example, I own SD card camcorders too, and it is always best to put as fast a card as possible in those.

Jomo, I agree that performance and quality do count.
However, with Sandisk surely they only produce one 6GB micro SD card?? If this is the case, why don't you e-mail them about it and ask for the detailed spec?
I've tried contacting them but they've not replied yet.
Not to sure about the speed, bit I received mines today, and I love it. I see no speed difference in reading and writing on the tilt. Mines is the scandisk.
Anybody seen 8GB Sandisk's in the wild? I.E. at Best Buy or Verizon or anywhere? What class are they?
I *just* got my 6GB class4 from Amazon today... but I'd pay the extra for 8 if I didn't have to wait...

I have the Sandisk 6GB card. it's Class 4. My question is, if they come out with a Class 8 one later, can the TyTN II take advantage of the speed? I.e. What's the Kaiser's max speed? I'm sure the festest cards would still be readable, but not sure if it would perform faster than a Class 4 if the Kaiser is the "bottleneck".
As for 8GB, I don't think they are generally avail yet, esp not in the US. I wouldn't expec tot see those available via US mail order til about mid Nov at least, and in stores like BB and CC? Not til next year I bet. They don't even have 6GB cards yet in places like Best Buy, Circuit City, and Fry's Elex...

Sandisk 32GB memory card

looks like it is finally here, well in the states at least
http://www.sandisk.com/products/mobile-memory-products/sandisk-microsdhc
US$199.00 from the sandisk site
I purchased one a few days back, waiting for it to ship (of course stock was not up to demand).
so much money for whats basiclly a tiny bit of plastic..(yes i know theres more to it than that ). out of my price range im afraid but id love one......
I just can't keep seem to justify size over speed. A class 2 for 200 bucks is all I see.... and even with the 1ghz processor... music takes forever to load on a class 2 compared to a 6..
oh and transferring movies is a draaaggggg on those class 2's...

Reporting in - Sandisk 32gb MicroSD works

Just thought I'd report my findings that the Nexus One does indeed support 32gb MicroSD cards
I got mine late last week, and it works perfectly.
Wow thats pretty awesome actually. How did it go? where there any speed issues because I have seen that loading high capacity memory cards normally drops down processing speed of certain devices....
Where did you order it? I check Ebay but they are all fake cards.
Why wouldn't it work... it's a standard...

I'm guessing it's for movies and music obviously.. But damn, no way in hell I'd ever pay $200 for 32 GB of storage.. That's just me though
I've been trying to find some place that has them in stock. For now, I've got a 16GB Class "6" card from Centon. Doesn't quite have true Class 6 speed, but it is quicker than Class 4.
Unfortunately, the 32GB is only Class 2..... but I still want one so badly
I've been told by several vendors they come in stock in the UK at least on Monday May 31. That's a holiday so many sites might not be updated, but at least you can get it.

I ended up paying AU$164 from www.cheapchips.com.au - a very reputable memory seller in Australia. They even sent it express post without additional cost.
The card is definitely not fake. Ive seen Sandisk 32Gb cards on ebay going for $400+ which is really taking the piss.
I decided i wanted extra space for all my movies and music. I previously owned a 32gb 3GS, so I was missing the extra storage.
The card is a class 2, and I find it no different to the Sandisk 16gb class 2 card I used previously. Two thumbs up from me.

× rating
The × rating is a unit of measurement equal to 1.2 Mbit/s. It is derived from the standard CD-ROM drive speed of 150 KB/s. Basic cards transfer data up to six times (6×) the data rate of the standard CD-ROM speed (900 KB/s vs 150 KB/s). The 2.0 specification defines speeds up to 200×, but unlike the class rating system, does not mandate that x-ratings measure the card's sustained write-speed. For most cards, the maximum read speed is typically faster than its maximum write speed, leading some manufacturers to use read-speed as the ×-rating measurement. Other vendors, such as Kingston, use write-speed.[12]
This table lists common ratings and minimum transfer rates.
Code:
Rating Write Speed(MByte/s) SD Class
6× 0.9
10× 1.5
[B]13× 2.0 2[/B]
[B]26× 4.0 4[/B]

I'm assuming you mean here by fake Sandisks, right?

Should I be worried about this card? Is there anything I should check on the card when I get it, or any diagnostics I should run?
Cheers,
Victor
