I don't know why this setting can solve this problem (May be).
Go to
start > Setting > Connection > USB to PC
Step:
1. Uncheck USB to PC
2. Start > Setting > System > Screeen > Calibration the Alignment of Screen
3. Soft Reset.
My friend also use CHT9000 (Taiwan Version) and told me this method. After the above mentioned adjustment, not alignment problem up to this moment.
I also use this method. 2 days gone, no alignment problem was found. I will keep to update this post in the future.
Hope it can help.

There is a thread or two about this on the general side or somewhere.
"Search" will work fine.
I tought it is working but not.
I have contacted with the local HTC/QTEK partner.
Waiting for the official solution.
BR,
Joe
I think that I may have a proper fix. my alignment seemed to be fixed by a rom upgrade but has been getting prgressively worse for a few days. Last night I tried something hardware based. I will test this for two days before I will say what it is but I have had no misalignment issue in the few hours since I did it.

could you post what you did so even if it doesnt work, we would know?

Ok it hasn't shifted at all today!
I was going to open it up to have a look at the rubber gasket that was mentioned in another post but chickened out!
Optional but probably a good idea; turn off and remove the battery.
1) Slide keyboard out and turn face down.
2) There are 2 tiny screws on the back of the screen that need to be undone. They have thread lock on them so a small crack will be heard as it releases.
3) Once the screws are out a further small crack noise may be heard. That'll be the tension being taken off the screen!
4) Put the screws back in and tighten (or should that be TyTN?). Do not over tighten these as it is only plastic.
5) If necessary realign the screen (hopefully for the last time)
As kind of proof that this has worked, this post was made from my v1605 on hsdpa while I was talking on the phone using bluetooth and got very hot and didn't need any realigning!
Hope it works for others!

I have the O2 Trion and my screen will be slight misaligned at the right side (cant use the vert scroll bar) . Is this exactly your problem ?
Does your problem happened again, if not could you post some pic/steps on how you did it ?
Thanks

as long as there is no excessive used here, that is what you mean right?

You're correct. Before I did this one screw was clearly at an angle and afterwards it was straight.
If anyone else has success let me know and I'll try to get some photos and do a how-to on the wiki.

i tried this out for my friend and he claims that while it did fix the alignment problem on the right side, sometimes the screen becomes slightly misaligned. could be that i tightened a bit too hard so will look into this.

When I did it for my friend, he claims that the screen, while does not have as serious an alignment problem as before, still has it. Its not that bad.
He notices that the problem usually comes after making a call. No matter how long the call (whether for 1 min or 40 mins), the screen will be slightly mis-aligned and needs to be re-aligned. Things like pressing the 'ENTER' button on the phone pad does not work unless he presses a certain part of the button.
Any advice for him?
low45,
I undone the 2 screws but hear no click or crack and return it back not so tight... is that the correct way... I will monitor mine, since it only happening once a day..
Though I do not hv one but I can inform that it is the bad quality of work..this has been happening to all the recent G4 Wizards and Prophets with SZ series serial number.
I think thehardware design has gone wrong..
Pls check yr serial number..if they start from HT or SZ
i think all the HTC Hermes manufactured are of the HT version
screw no help
ok... after a day.. it happened again...
I just hard reset and did not load the extROM last night... let see ..
me i go back to change it
i have HT630xxxx and no probleme
I got my Atom last night...updated it to the Atom Exec ROM 20060614 and it is absolutely FANTASTIC! I love the speed, the brilliant camera (when outdoors), the audio quality and volume and the really bright, sharp screen.
Only problem is that I woke up today and noticed that the screen has a *very* slight blemish that looks like moisture (looks like oil on glass). When you tap around it, it spread VERY quickly around that point but disappears once u let go. It is not visible when the screen is on but is visible once screen is off. It is very hard to see but better safe then sorry.
I have a screen protector but I have confirmed that it is not from the screen protector (removed it and looked)... any ideas? Should I send it back for repair/replacement now? or wait and see if it gets any worse? It doesn't affect the touchscreen at all.
better return.
It is not moisture. It is oil leakage  Of course it is not due to the ROM update
Had it on my original Atom after one month. It was replaced when I took it for servicing. You better race to the service centre
Oh man that sucks. Theres a service center in Australia but its a loong way away from here. I'm gonna send it back to the shop and get it replaced. Is this a repeat thing?
Has it happened to u since? Any idea how it occurs?
Never happened again since.
Before you send it back to the shop remember to put back the Atom ROM otherwise they will have a nice excuse not to replace it
In my case I thought I might have applied too much pressure when fitting the screen protector (that is the only thing I could think of then) and so I have not put one on the replacement Atom (which thinks it is an Atom Exec  )
Yeah ill put the old rom back on. It wouldn't have been from too much force when putting on the screen protector coz i was real gentle putting it on...but I may have leaned on it while sleeping.
Just want to know how long u have had ur Atom since it was fixed/replaced?

Almost 3 months (next week)
screen moisture
well i had this same issue.. about 1x1 inch hollow...and its mainly caused if the screen is pressed or rubbed too hard.. i tried to move it by pressing gently from its sides but in vein.
eventually after some days, to my surprise, i gently tried to move it from top to bottom of the screen and kept on forcing it downward, it squeezed its size to a tiny 1 mm bubble and moved its way automatically to the bottom and vanished.
So, things do happen i must say keep it with u for another 1 week and try my trick... hopefully it will do.
I have that problem on my Atom Exec for more than a week, where should I send it to get it repaired? I also have a high pitch noise comming from the screen.
Same problem
I bought mine in HKG and after 2 weeks got the same problem, i was sure its moister falke but already 1 month passed and nothing, its stay on the same place and same size.
I am pissed off paying so much money and have this **** problem.
I bought it from Hong Kong also, where should we send it to get it fixed?
There is a Working Solution
I have tried the suggested solution that was offered by farrukhmustafa and belive it or not it WORKED !!! The blemish big 1" i had over my ATOM EXEC was amazingly dissapeared totaly.
I just did what was wrote in the thread from farrukhmustafa, i gently pressed the screen moving the mouister down lower left side and it complety dissapeared.
Look at the attached picture how it was before i tried this magic, and after it was totaly dissapred.
Try it - Things are do working.
I've had my 8525 for about 3 months, and now it constantly clicks the upper right hand corner and exits all of my programs! I'll soft-reset and sometimes it wont boot up, it just hangs at the windows logo screen. I upgraded the ROM to the newest from Cingular thinking it was some program that was doing it, but it comes back.
When it's in portrait mode, it's the upper right hand corner. When it's in landscape, it clicks the start button(upper left) so I dont think its a program thats making it click, but something physical touching that certain spot. Anyone have any idea?! I thought something was stuck in there but it's clean.. this is so annoying, I cant even make a call since it clicks exit when it comes up! It stops SOMETIMES for a few minutes but then it comes back after a while.. anyone else?
Give it a yung choo kung foo whack, take a run-up.
...
Sounds knackered, you could try the screen alignment fix, pressure from the gasket may be causing this:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=How to fix the Screen Aligment issue
Your best bet is to send it back for repair though .
I bought it off ebay.. so no warranty
It's weird because I take a very slim credit card( 1/2 the thickness as regular cards) and slide it in and bring up the plastic around the screen and it STILL does it!! nothing is touching the screen at all. Also, my alignment is still spot on perfect.. what gives?
Oh yeah, I did smack it a few times and it works sometimes.. It's been okay right now for about an hour but I know it's going to be short lived..
Did you try loosening the screws?

Yours is the third or forth report of that error. My Trion had the exact same problem, and I needed to exchange it (bought it new from O2, so it was under warranty).
None of the screen alignment fixes I tried made any difference. The problem was also temperature dependent - when the Trion was cold, everything was okay. Leaving backlight on and listening to MP3s for five minutes was enough to make the problem appear - first, only a few fake 'taps', then more and more, and eventually the screen didn't recognize any of my taps at all.
So it seems to be a hardware issue. The only software solution I could think of: back in WM 2003 days, there was a registry setting to increase/decrease the touchscreen sensitivity. If it still exists in WM5 (don't know, sorry. Others may be able to tell you), you could try setting it to be quite insensitive. Might help.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply, now that I think of it, it only happens when it's warm. Looks like I'm SOL. Oh well, I guess ill put up with it until the iPhone comes out.. ill try loosening the screws too.
Your case is putting pressure on that part of your screen. It is not device specific. Slip a piece of paper under the case to check for clearance. I use under the case screen protectors and have seen this before. You may be able to simple pry the case and create some clearance.
I have exactly the same symptoms. It seems the registry settings do not exist in the Hermes to adjust the sensitivity so I am thinking return for replacement must be the only option. Argh! I feel defeated

I've inserted a small piece of plastic between the frame and the screen (one month ago).
Here you will find a resume of proposed working solutions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1056346&postcount=227
Can you tell us the serial of your Hermes? (HTC62xxxxx, 63, 64)
That is the same problem I had with my 8525. I tried ALL the solutions here in the forum but nothing solved it. I finally returned it to Cingular and they gave me a brand new one with zero hassle. Two weeks in on the new one, and it's working like a champ (knock on wood).
the S/N is HT657xxxx
Nothing is putting pressure on the screen, I've pried some clearence between that part of the screen and it still does it. I dont even have a Cingular account, so I doubt they'd help me
My only other option is to take it apart(following the japanese website instructions) and see what's going on.. Maybe something underneath the screen is doing it? I dont know..
Oh yeah, not only did i loosen the screws behind the screen but I completely removed them and it STILL does it. I found the registry setting for screen sensitivity and lowered it from 7,xxxx to 5,xxx and it did nothing..
Have a "small" problem with my touchscreen, it requires to be aligned every day,and by that i mean that the alignment doesn't hold much long...that means sms typing is extremely hard when you push one letter he shows you another that lays next to it .Is it due to the touchscreen or the system....i didn't do any ROM update i still have the original software on him:
ROM Ver.: 1.12.01 GER
Radio Ver. : 1.12.00
ExtRom ver. : 1.12.151 GER
Many thanks!!
i think it it the problem of touch screen
i think it it the problem of touch screen.after extrem use of touch screen its loes the alinement for this you replace the touch screen from your hardware guy.
Thanks for all
Hi i fixed the problem with a ROM update and i didn't install extra programs that i had before like ( Pocket plus or Calendar ++...... ), anyway now i don't have to align the screen. I don't know is it the ROM update or the additional software but the touchscreen is now working perfectly.
So if someone else have a similar problem don't replace the screen right away.
Thanks
it's hardware problem.
my xda mini also..
but i know how to fix this problem.
Maybe with you it was, my MDA is now working perfectly and i don't need to align my screen every day as i did before. That doesn't mean that all have such a problem,i am only telling you my experience with it.
Best regards from Vienna
Hello, in my magician is not everyday, hapens all the time that i turn on it.

Guys,
I've had that problem for a LONG time and today i finally got tired and decided to fixed it...here's how i've done it: You just need to lift a little bit up, a few small metal pins which are all around the touchscreen (see the picture in attachment). This will force the touchscreen to remain in place and will end all your problems related to touchscreen alignments.
Regards,
Keeper
so it does help? what do these pins do?
IS THERE REALLY NO SOLUTION TO THAT PROBLEM???
(* the pins have nothing to do with the touchscreen, they are what holds aluminum shell on the plastic chasis)
i had an o2 mini with 1.11 rom and its touch screen was not quite sensitive.. had to tap or drag stylus very hard..
but after upgrading to 2.03TX.. to my surprise.. my PDA now has very good touch screen response!

I tryed to re-flash rom or adjust metal pins but the problem persists.
Anyone have another solution?

Probably it's problem with flat wire that connects screen with mainboard.
You need to open yours xda, find that wire, unplug it from mainboard, clean its pins with alcohol and plug into again.
From this time mine xda doesn't decalibrating anymore

Hi
My cell also had the same problem. There is a bunch of wires coming from the back of touch screen, these wires fix inside a socket. There is a black color cover that fix the wires inside that socket. During mishandling that cover got loose, that's why your cell loose the screen setting. I fixed that cover and now my Jam works perfectly. (Do it if you have the courage to open your cell)

Hello, I just bought a used O2 mini and had this same problems. I finally found a quick way to restore the calibration that goes out every restarts.
Using resco registry editor, I found the data stored here->
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/CalibrationData
So I make 1 clean alignment and quickly went and export the Touch key into my Storage. Now every time the alignment goes haywire, I just import the data back. Hope it helps.
Hello to all,
I have a HTC 3600 with the rom “Karmba_a 7.2 eLiAs EN-20000” for a long time and everything was working great, until last Friday when it stop vibrating as it was suppose to do when receiving a call.
After trying lots of things I decided to reflash it. And it’s still the same, does not vibrate.
Does anyone have any idea what might be the problem?
Thanks in advance

How can see bord to see if there is humidity? Does not look like a easy operation.

it may cause of the loosen screw which stick the vibrator with the phone. I have this happen before, you can try open the case and screw it back or take to some repair shop.

Thanks for the suggestion
I've tried flashing a new rom, as well as trying a different headset... same deal
(I however haven't tried if those headsets work with other phones... so I'll try to do that next to make sure I'm not unlucky to the point where both mics dead)
Had a similar problem today--erratic vibrating and occasional strange noises. Thought it was the ROM that I had just reflashed but thankfully stumbled onto this thread - it was the very loose screw! Thanks for the advice.
Just to add a little levity, here's a solution that you probably didn't think of and most likely wouldn't have thought you needed. But... it's a funny idea, nonetheless...

One word of warning: There's also another screw under the stylus. Don't forget that one when you dissasemble or it might break.

The tool needed can be bought at most electronics stores, ie: Radio Shack, etc...
It is a #6 Torx driver. Also called T6 Might find it at Auto Parts store, but not sure, it's pretty small...
It seems the stopped vibration is almost always the loose screw. Mine fell completely out and was wedged against the vibrating motor, stopping it's rotation. After the phone was open, it was an easy fix.
