problem: sqldev opens new datatab each time i run a query.
When i select in editor a query that i have written and run it, then resultset tab is opened with data for me. How can i do so, that all queries that i run will show the resultset/data on the one common tab. I don't want that always new resultset tab is opened. What settings and how should i change? I have Sql Developer version 18.104.22.168. Thx.
This was logged as Bug 9247525 - otn: worksheet results tab being pinned for f9 exec of selected sql Workaround : Place cursor on the query, don't select it, and run. -Raghu
That solves the problem. Thank you. -- ( Seems like the rules are like following: If currently visible/opened resultset tab has (toggle)button "Pin" pushed down, then all queries you run will open the new resultset tab. If that pin button is not pushed down, then new tab is not opened. So if you want some resultset tabs to stay, the Pin button should be pressed down, then the new queries will not erase that datatab. ) Edited by: CharlesRoos on Jan 6, 2010 5:37 AM
Yes... but when I place cursor on the query (did not select the query) and click run, it executes the whole worksheet and not just the query I want to run.
You're confused. The workaround is only needed for F5; using F9 you can highlight without duplicating tabs. K.
