Certain data columns not showing up during a query
I have having trouble seeing certain data types when I search in Oracle SQL developer. Fields such as Dates and numeric values are showing as blank when I run a query. If I run the same query in SQL Plus, date values and numeric values appear.
Please provide versions for Sql Dev Database Java OS Also please post the simplified select statement. -Raghu
I am using SQL developer 2.1, but this was also happening when I was using early versions such as 1.5.5 THe Database is an oracle 11g database on my machine I have an instance of java 1.5.0_18 running but within the application there is a java 1.6, I am not sure if the 1.6 is executing the program or not. Can you please post the DDL for this table ? I am assuming that only this table in not displaying in the grid. -Raghu
What is the DDL? sorry I am not the most techincal of users. Actually it is all tables within the Schema, Both Dates and Numeric values are not showing up in columns during query serachs. Text or VarChar seems to be ok.

Odd. I assume the values do not appear in the grid when you run queries as querys. Do they appear when you use "run as script"?
I ran these statements and it seemed to fix the problem alter session set nls_sort=binary; alter session set nls_comp=binary; I am not sure why that was happening, I appriciate you trying to help me out though. Thanks
What did you have then in Preferences - Database - NLS?
This is what is there now: Language: American Territory: American Sort: Binary Comparison: Binary Date Language: American DateFormat: DD-MON-RR Timestamp Format: DD-MON-RR HH.MI.SSXFF AM Timestamp TZ Format: DD-MON-RR HH.MI.SSXFF AM TZR Decimal Separator: . Group Separator: , Currency $ ISO Currency: America Length: BYTE
And that doesn't work until you do the ALTER SESSION? Then there's something wrong... K.
